On our way to a weekend get away we stopped in for lunch. Parking in the back was plentiful and we sat outside, overlooking the parking lot. The day was a geoegeous Spring day and we were enjoying every moment. Waitress came right over and took our drink order and brought pretzel bread and butter. Unfortunately we had no plates or silverware. (What is up with that?) My hubby grabbed some from a neighboring table and we heartily enjoyed the pretzel bread! Drinks arrived, order placed, enjoying the day. 35 minutes later we were wondering what is going on with our order. Waitress came over to tell us our food would be right out and take another drink order. New drink arrives, and still no food. Waitress comes by again to tell us my meal was dropped and will be right out. A runner appears minutes later, non too happy. Hubby has the pulled pork sandwich which was tasty but the bread was soaked in grease. He pulled the pork off the bread and ate it with a fork. (Wonder if that is how the sandwich got its name) My roasted beet salad was very tasty and the brown rice pilaf (which looks like plain brown rice) was actually quite tasty. The waitress alerted the manager about our long wait for food and he came to the table to apologize. He came back minutes later with a $10 gift card and another apology. That really helped. Thanks.

The parking is terrible. You can do valet but if you don't you're stuck parking at Starbucks next door and walking over. The food isn't the best around. For the price its not worth it. I will say the wings are pretty good. The waitstaff and hostesses are nice for the most part. It gets super loud on game days so if you're into that kind of atmosphere then I would say watch a game here.

Wait staff definitely need training on how to serve and be professional. Sat at the bar recently and after food was served-- no one came back for a long time. Take some pointers from east bay grille-- their staff is superior

Do you like crowded, loud, expensive places with sub par food? Me either and that's what this place is. It's comparable to attending a sporting arena. Very young crowd, maybe they come here to pick each other up or something.

No place to park. Horrible service, overpriced food. My kids nearly passed out from waiting for a grilled cheese. Flies all over the place. Avoid at all costs. Go to the 99. Same quality food at literally half the price.

This place was awesome when I first came here about 2 years ago. But every time I've been here since it has declined. Tonight might've been the last time. It began with the hostess ignoring me for about fifteen minutes and was rude when she finally gave me the time of day. 30 minutes later, we were sat... In the section where they hid all the kids. 7 adults (including my grandmother) were sat at a high top surrounded by screeching children. Also, I got a drink while waiting. It took forever and the glass was sticky and dirty. It was the sangria flora and tasted watered down. The waitress didn't improve the experience at all. We waited a while for her to come over, waited forever for bread, and when we got it there wasn't enough for 1 per person. The waitress was forgetful and the kitchen seemed to have run out of everything. She gave the excuse that she usually manages instead of waitressing but she probably shouldn't be doing either. She offered us desserts but I just wanted to leave. High tops are uncomfortable and you can't hear the person across the table from you. I got the avocado quesadilla appetizer for my dinner and it was okay but nothing special. I used to love it but it's just alright now. Both of my parents' meals came out late as well. I stopped going to the Boston location because it was dirty and had poor service. The Marshfield one started off as promising but has gone down hill. They'd probably make a better Best Buy with all these TVs instead of a restaurant.

Recently went to dinner on Saturday evening with 3 people. It was my first time coming to this location. The sports ambience including old photos and TV's were great (and loud) but that was the best part of this dining experience. First, I was quite surprised at the prices for Rte 139 in Marshfield in the middle of January, actually quite shocked! We got a plate of over cooked calamari that were like little circles of fried breading for $10.99... Second, fish and chips were a heavy beer batted fried breading over what was borderline cooked fish and served almost cold for $15.99... Third, a side dish of Macaroni and cheese was cold and had to be returned... Our glasses of wine were not even 1/2 filled but more 1/3 filled. You talk about squeezing the profit out of a bottle of house red..,ugh. Please serve some real bread and rolls for these prices instead of little bread stick rolls. Overall, way overpriced and could have had a better meal for less at the 99 Restaurant right down the street. I could see if this was middle of summer and height of tourist season, but even that would be a stretch. I mean who charges 15.99 for fish and chips unless in some high end restaurant but not In Marshfield during winter, Christ! P.S. The only reason for 2 stars is because of the open fire pit outside pretty neat for cold night like the food! Probably one and done!

This place has some pretty good good my favorite is the chicken focaccia sandwich the chicken piccata is also delicious sometime the presentation is sloppy and fries are mushy but overall good experince

I came here the other night after dinner for drinks with friends. While the bartenders were pleasant enough when they actually interacted with us the service they provided was terrible. We arrived at 1130 and they were already closing up the bar even though they didnt close for another hour. We all got one drink but when those were finished... Well before last call.... We were ignored so that they didn't have to serve is another. Even when they made last call they didn't actually come over to anyone at the bar to see if anyone wanted anything. I will definitely not go back any time soon.

The pizza I had tasted like chef boyardee and cost like $12! We sat at the bar- service was slow!!!! They weren't even that busy, bartenders were busy chatting and checking their cell phone. For a $40 tab and to leave feeling like fast food was a better option, stay away.

  • Donna R.

Food was great! Waitress was wonderful! Front of the house staff when we walked in "rude" one girl tried to squeeze by me, didn't even acknowledge us standing there. 2 other staff standing there "chatting" ignoring us. Having never been there before would have thought a better welcome in order. The food and waitress saved the day!

If you don't want food poisoning, you may want to avoid this place. My fiancé ordered chicken piccata. As you know, chicken is generally cooked to eliminate the cesspool of bacteria in the meat. The culinary staff at Cask 'n Flagon apparently did not understand this. The chicken was served raw. Not just "undercooked," but pink and slimy. Unfortunately, my fiancé bit into the dish (assuming, oddly enough, that the meat was cooked). She immediately realized the chicken was raw and returned the dish. Unfortunately for us, food poisoning doesn't take more than one bite of raw chicken (which, again, is why chicken should be cooked before serving). We spent the following 24 hours visiting an urgent care unit, which confirmed a diagnosis of food poisoning. As you may imagine, this includes persistent nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps. It's almost as if the human body is not meant to consume raw poultry. In the end, eating at this establishment involves an analysis of the risks and benefits. Risks include your body completely rejecting the food you consume, finding fruit flies in your margarita (another situation we encountered here), and spending your day explaining to a doctor that you can't stop vomiting. Benefits include copious tv screens.

Who knew a bar could be nice. The set up inside is very nice, hugh bar and whenever we split the bean burger, they put it on 2 separate plates. Helpful staff when it come to our weird food requests. They have some tables with the circular backs. Not sure how to explain that. They have a big and long firepit outside with tv. It was too hot this summer to sit outside so maybe next summer!

Decided to have dinner at this location at the last minute and we were thrilled to actually find two seats together at the bar. We were greeted fairly quickly by the bartender and both our beverages and food came out in the perfect amount of time. We ordered the North End nachos for an app. I thought they were a bit greasy but my husband liked them. We then split a cheeseburger and it was cooked the way we asked and was pretty tasty. I asked one of the male bartenders to pick out a beer to go with my burger and I liked what he picked out and his willing attitude to help. All and all, our meal was okay, the atmosphere was exactly what you would except from a sports restaurant. There was one bartender that, for the whole time we were there, NEVER once smiled. Come one, one of the most important attributes a bartender must have is an engaging personality and a welcoming attitude to everyone that sits down at their bar..... At least that's what we look for. Perhaps the management may want to go over that with her.

Quick service, good/reliable food with diverse menu. Some surprising items (like fish tacos). Great for families with young kids because it's a little noisy. A zillion TVs for those watching the game.

Went here for my girlfriend's 21st and it looked really packed even for a Thursday. Walking in they had a really sweet looking outdoor eating area with a fire pit going, very classy looking. Walking in we tried to get a bar seat but there being 6 of us it was not happening. Luckily someone who looked like an owner or manager was right there to ask us if we wanted to combine to hi top tables for our party, hell yes we did! We were served immediately which I love, got our drinks which were great. They had a decent drink menu plus the classics, Quite a big draft selection too which should never be overlooked. The food was really the highlight though I got the Cask burger which was a huge burger with the works and pulled pork on top which was phenomenal. My other buddies got Fenway burgers which were good too they said. The GF got BBQ chicken which looked like a whole frigging chicken itself and was delicious too. The venue itself was very nice I frequent Venus 3 in hanson which I thought was a great sports kinda themed bar but this place might top even that. Huge bar probably seating around 60 and a nice hi top bar section and I also saw a lot of seating had TVs in the booths just like Venus which I personally love being a sports fan. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was it is a bit on the pricey side but worth it in my opinion. All in all I'd recommend all my friends here and definitely return.

Decided to stop in here on our way home from the Marshfield Fair instead of eating fair food! What a great choice! We loved the decor and atmosphere! It was a little loud, but it is a sports bar after all! So no biggy! We were seated and promptly greeted by our server Brian! He was friendly, helpful and attentive from beginning to end! My husband got the Cask Burger and I chose the Grilled Chicken Focaccia! Both were moist, delicious and flavorful! Thanks Brian, for helping me with my beer choice, The Jack-o-traveler and my yummy chicken sandwich! I enjoyed both!! We would definitely come here again if we are in the area!

3rd time here. First 2 times were good. I was blown away by how bad this visit was. I rarely complain about food or service. I felt compelled to describe our experience tonight. It was a strange one for a few reasons. We were lead to the table by a hostess in a white shirt. She dropped menus, turned and got out of there without any acknowledgement. There were 7 of us, she sat us at a booth of 6. No high chairs, or mention of one, even though there were 2 toddlers. When asked about high chairs, they had wood ones we could go get, but nothing for a baby seat. This place is huge. They have never been asked for/or never felt compelled to buy a few of the baby seat holders? They aren't that expensive, and most restaurants have them. Odd. Then, the jackets come off. 7 of us in a 6 person booth. No were to put jackets. No hooks at the booth dividers, no coat racks at end of room, no coat check room. Very inconvenient. I see both of the above as huge oversights by incompetent managers or owners. Food was delivered. Buffalo chicken dip for app. Not 1 single piece of chicken in it. No joke. I love very spicy food. What was delivered was way more spicy than most would eat. I tried it a bit, but it was essentially Spicy yellow thick cheese water with a side of stale wontons. Gross. Meal arrived. Decent service time, but not one of the 7 of us liked their meal. My steak tips were chewy cold gristle, with cold mashed potatoes on side. My son (13yo) ate 2 - 12oz steaks on Tuesday night. Tonight, he had 3 bites of a cheeseburger, and wanted no part in going any further. Lemon Chicken Picatta had 4 (no lie) capers. 4. Cheese tortilla was ok for one son, but would only eat half. Where else to go from here.... Frankly, food sucked bad, at a time that wasn't very busy. The quality was just piss poor. Saw 2 managers walking around, didn't seem to be helping the staff or patrons. One watched me struggle with a baby seat out of the back double doors. He watched from podium, no offer of help or to hold door. I would have refused and said I'm all set, but isn't this a general courtesy type of thing for a restaurant manager close by? Just a horrible, piss-poor experience all around. Very bad. As I said before, I'm not one to complain about a poor restaurant experience, but this visit was well beyond that. Never again. Pity as a lot of money went into this physical location, but they forgot to build a coat room, buy baby seats or put up coat racks.

Parking SUCKED food and service were good. Always a good time here. Recommend anytime.

  • Lucas S.

Beer selection is great. Food is okay, wait staff is slow on occasion but always seem to be friendly. The only thing that sometimes keeps me away from this place is the insane noise. It is a sports bar, but you can't even hear yourself think on busier nights. It's like everyone screams at the top of their lungs in this place.

  • H M.

Knocking off one star and going with 2 for cask now that we've been here a few times for dinner. It gets so loud at night and we could barely hear each other from across the table. As someone else said, $3.75 for a soda is outrageous!!! Avoid the ginger ale- it's WAY too sweet and sugary. The Fenway burger was decent but very basic and the fish n chips was pretty good. The north end nachos were gross. We got them without black olives but they forgot the scallions and cherry peppers. The cheese sauce tasted like bland, barely lukewarm Alfredo and was just not good. Huge and expensive disappointment. Tonight we got those and two salads and waited 45 minutes!!!! The server was flighty and unapologetic and of course didn't comp the bill at all. We've decided no more food here. Just drinks at the bar and that's it if that. Although the pretzel bread with mustard butter is delicious.

I came here after a long day of flying with 2 kids. I asked the hostess for a booth with a TV and she gave me attitude. There were at least 5 booths open and she said that I would have to wait. The wait staff in here is slow and unattentive. This place has lost its step/charm. Whatever you want to call it. I think the bartenders are still pretty good but I'm not impressed by the wait staff.

    (2)
  • Seth M.

Decent food. Large portions. I like the fish tacos and the pulled pork. Pretzel rolls are delicious. Lots of TVs. Service is really good. Large drink selection.

Been here 3 times and the food has been very disappointing 2 out of 3 times. Last visit was the worst. My friends ordered ribs and they were COLD. My burger not only was over cooked but it was only lukewarm. The ribs were sent back to be warmed but it just put a damper on the experience. I've given them enough chances that I'll only go there to have a few drinks and watch tv, but it's not a destination.

SPO-AHTS BAHH. excellent for watching the game, good food. pretty snazzy outdoor fireplace feature. WICKED PRICEY BEE-AHS THOUGH AMIRITE

Went here to watch the a playoff game and it was a great environment, the food was great and the service was ok... all and all I would go again.

    (4)
  • Trish K.

It's okay. If you're going to watch a game, then it's great. If you're going for the food, you could do a heck of a lot better (unless of course, you have mediocre taste). The food is average at best. If you go and sit at the bar, be prepared to wait A LONG TIME for a drink. Some nights they only have 2 people working the bar that is full of customers. The bartenders aren't that friendly either. They are young and seem somewhat inexperienced. The waitstaff at the tables are pretty good. It's an average to below average experience but if you don't have high expectations, then you'll be just fine.

  • Patricia W.

It was a Wed afternoon and the place was empty. We had to wait to be greeted as the hostess was much too busy on the phone to acknowledge us for about five minutes. Then she says "Wasn't there a big party here?" I do believe that is her job and we never saw a big party. If we had not waited, we could have had lunch but by the time we were seated, we were told the restaurant "is very strict about the cut off time for lunch." To make this a most miserable experience, we watched a deer slaughtered on the big screen TV. Sickening! When we tried to pay for our drinks to leave, a woman was called to talk to us. No introduction. Still have no idea who she is. At least we did not have to pay for the drinks. We left and will not return!

This place is great. The combo platter is perfect for 3 people. Plenty of options for dinner. Great draft beers too. TVs everywhere. This place is huge.

  • Steve H.

Saturday seating on a holiday weekend. Place is clean and comfortable. Music was not overbearing. Waiter was very fast. Bread sticks divine. Nachos were good. Main course was fish and chips and burgers. The fish and chips was subpar. The clams were pretty raunchy. The rest of the plate was great. The burgers were as ordered with interesting fries. Wait staff gets an A although they were slow delivery our cooked meals. The food clearly sat for 5 or 10 minutes. We will visit again it was overall a positive experience. Prices are reasonable.

Do not get the Mongolian beef. Tasty but quality of the beef was very poor... Drinks were ok. I guess nothing out of ordinary.

    (3)
  • Pete T.

The food is decent. I like the atmosphere. Good beer selection. Service was not very attentive and the prices were on the high side. I would go back, but it's not a must go back place.

  • Marla F.

I am not planning on going back. The bar servers are very inattentive. They seem more concerned about stocking than the customers. The same bartender never waited on us, so they have no clue what you are drinking or when you may need another. The North-end Nachos are like deep fried taco shells - heavy and oily. The Combo platter had buffalo chicken dip that tasted like all salt. It was not busy when we were there. I told the manager about my experience. He said he wanted me to come back and ask for him, he would be sure I would have a better experience. He was a nice guy, but I am not sure he convinced me. I have several friends who told me they have no interest in going back again, after tonight I see why. I love the atmosphere and the TVs, but other than that the bar and app experience is not good at all. Healthier appetizers would be a good idea too. I have not tried sitting down for dinner here, so I cannot comment on that piece.

    (1)
  • Chris M.

The salad with the buffalo chicken was great. There's chunks of real blue cheese in there, so you might want to season it up with some salt.

    (5)
  • Chris G.

I really liked this place. I've been here a bunch of times and almost every time I get the fish tacos they are great. I go in saying I'm going to try something different but then end up getting the fish tacos. TV's everywhere, fire pit outside. Great place to watch a game. The only knock I have is the parking is limited.

My husband & I live close by. This place is always packed with a full lot. My husband joked that I probably couldn't handle all the televisions! I find them to be very distracting and this place has a TV at every possible angle, even outside! For our appetizer we ordered the Boneless buffalo chicken. It was good and the bleu cheese was chunky and tasty. It cost ten dollars, which I thought was a tad steep for an appetizer. My husband ordered the Cask burger. He enjoyed the Bacon and pulled pork, as well as the fried pickle and pretzel bun! He got it with a side of sweet potato fries. It looked delicious and over the top! I ordered the Chicken Parm. It was good, the chicken was not too greasy and the sauce was sweet and went well with the cheese and fried chicken. It made me miss the chicken parm from Olive Garden....and their freshly grated cheese. Overall? It was a tad pricy but it was pretty good. The food was yummy, came out in a decent amount of time and the service was solid. Next time I'd like to sit by their open fireplace on the patio!

Welcoming establishment for sports enthusiasts as well as families of all sorts that are seeking a quality meal. Sunday brunch is also decent with a wide array of breakfast options. However, the buffet brunch selections do not vary on a weekend to weekend basis. Needless to say, this restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere with booths in addition to two separate bars. Overall, great place to stop for a beer headed back toward the marshfield area.

$18 for one lonely crab cake, 2 cherry tomatoes, and some greens? Hardly an entree salad, definitely overpriced.

The Will Middlebrooks sandwich is very good, but if the Red Sox get a male sideline reporter as a result of his sexual hijinx, The Cask should remove it from the menu!

Went there on a Tuesday and ordered the award winning BBQ. My dinner came after my wife had finished and the staff informed me they burnt my dinner so they had to make another so that was the reason for the delay. Briscit was extremely dry and I couldn't finish it since it tasted so terrible. They comped my meal for full disclosure but I have eaten here twice and both times it was below average. It is mainly a sports bar with tons of tv and loud music. Don't go for the food. Be prepared to not have a conversation without screaming at your party, it makes the Abercrombie store sound like a library.

Cask & Flagon, what happened? We told our friends how much we loved The Cask, Marshfield . We were embarrassed and disappointed. We waited and our buzzer never went off. We had to ask when we'd be seated and they said we called your number. We were standing right by the host/hostesss stand and never heard any numbers called, and our buzzer wasn't working. Strike one. We were finally seated, ordered apps and drinks . After our drinks and apps arrived we had to ask for napkins and silverware. Strike two. Three out of four meals were below par. Strike three. I previously mentioned that the veggie burger was the best, this one was terrible. The cheese was dry and there was a chunk of avocado on top which I sliced myself, the overall taste was just blah. Not sure if we'll give The Cask & Flagon another chance.

I give it a 4 because of the non-regular menu. I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was fantastic. I also attended a beer tasting, which was also fantastic. The regular food/bar/service is okay. Decent, even.

Hubs and I were down in Marshfield running errands and we decided to check out the Cask 'n Flagon since it is still a relatively new restaurant in the Marshfield area. We went on MLK Day and even at the lunch hour (1 p.m.), it was rather busy. It was clear that the staff (or management?) were not ready for such a rush of people. At any rate, we had no problem getting seated but we did have to wait a few extra minutes for our server to greet our table and take drink orders. He stopped by to say that he was a little busy and would be with us in a minute and answer any questions we had. That was fine by me. We had no problem ordering drinks and looking through the menu. The menu did offer smaller appetizers to share and we shared a plate of nachos that were certainly more than enough for just two people. I ordered just a simple chicken caesar salad and Hubs ordered "The Triple Play." It took about 25 minutes for our sandwiches to arrive after we finished our appetizer since the restaurant was, essentially, slammed at this point. There are about a dozen TVs in your line of vision no matter where you sit in the restaurant, so we were well sedated. The Triple Play sandwich should just be renamed "Triple Bypass." Essentially, it is a sourdough loaf cut into thirds that consists of three sandwiches - roast beef, ham and cheese, and buffalo chicken. It was massive and there was no way a sane person could eat that in one sitting. When served with fries, it was just too much. However, when you think that you could split it into three separate sandwiches and save the other two for lunches, it wasn't a bad deal. My salad was enormous and actually quite tasty. The dressing was homemade and the chicken even came blackened with an awesome kick to it. I don't know if I would go back specifically for the food, it was nothing extremely memorable. But the bar is huge and the menu is expansive. I would be more than willing to meet a friend there for apps and drinks. I think once the restaurant works out all the kinks, they will do great!

Great atmosphere. Huge bar with a ton of TVs. Friendly bartenders. Food is typical pub fare but good.

Terrible "smoked' bbq. The brisket and pulled pork were ordered amongst the group of friends in a to-go order. Cask'n Flagon boasts that their bbq is smoked for 8 hours!?!? If there was any smoke ring or taste to the meat it was muted by the sauce. Looked like stew it was so over sauced. Gross. The bbq sauce itself tasted like it came from a can of baked beans. The sides weren't any better. Glazed carrots were undercooked and dripping in butter. The coleslaw was basic and tasteless. Overpriced food. Will not be going back. The only positive thing from the trip was the free mustard infused butter that came w/the free pretzel bread. I made my own carrots later in the week and glazed them w/that butter. Disappointed

Top notch! It's a big place, but the good vibes fill it up! The menu is interesting with something for everyone, and the food is well-done (except if you order medium-rare!). The service at the bar is outstanding, and the management is clearly on top of things. I recommend it!

Tried the Cask on a rainy Fourth of July for the first and likely the last time. Walked in to really loud music which continued the entire time we were there, it was only 5 o'clock. There were plenty of empty tables and were told by the hostess it would be a few minutes, ok no problem. After far too long we were seated, no silverware or plates to be found. Our waitress came over and took our drink order and disappeared for at least 15 minutes. When she came back we ordered dinner which came out quickly and was pretty good. And that was the last time we saw her. Had to ask a bus boy for utensils and napkins. Literally never saw the waitress again, someone else brought us our check after I went looking for someone to help us out. We were done eating and just sat there waiting, and waiting, and waiting. And waiting... Wanted to like it, food was good enough for three and a half maybe four stars, but service was a zero.

Great place for a few drinks before and after the Sox's game. The bar is full of guys that know what they're doing and also the kitchen is good. Just make sure you get in time to the game!!!

Great place for drinks with friends! We attended a birthday party here and had great service and awesome food. The nachos and the quesadilla were delicious! Someone else ordered the buff chicken mac n cheese and it looked great. Huge beer selection and two full bars. Would like to go back when it's warmer to relax on the patio with the fireplace. Huge restaurant and plenty of seating, plus a back room for private parties.

Food was good. We waited about an hour for our food when other parties came in after us and got their food first. Waitress blamed the long wait for our food on the fact that we ordered one of our steak tips medium well. Steak tips were good broccoli was way undercooked. Based on our experience I would rate them as a 2 but the food was pretty good. They also have free valet

Visited with several of my buddies on their first full day of operation, Fri 10/12. Beautiful place, well designed and laid out. The main bar sits a lot of folks. We sat at the corner of the bar and had great service. Great beer selections and the draft system is really cool as it's hung from the ceiling/TV system. We only ordered a couple apps, wings and a couple pizzas. The wings were fair at best. Seems like they came from a warmer, not fresh out of the fryer. The two pizzas lacked flavor and lacked sauce and toppings. I guess it was artisan style. Much better pizza at other locations in Marshfield. Need to get back for lunch and dinner to check out sandwiches, burgers and entrees. I've heard other verbal feedback that the food is fair as well. Looking forward to other reviews from the C&F.

Went here with a few friends. Long story short mix drinks were weak also received one wrong drink. We had to ask for napkins and silverware 3 times. Food was alright. We did have a manager come over and apologize, he took a few things off the bill. Which helps a little. I'll give them another shot.

Not super impressed. I didn't find this place to be much different than any chain restaurant like Applebees or Chili's. Decor was nice and I'm not sure if the bar knew what it wanted to be- Sports bar - kind of overwhelming with the TVs. Food was middle of the road. I had fish & chips. The crust was brittle and scraped the top of my mouth and the fish dry and stringy- a sure sign someone left it in the fryer too long. Buffalo wings average and not a hearty portion. Not the level of quality of a meal for the price I paid. If I wanted overcooked fish I would have gotten a fillet of fish at McDonald's. They also have valet parking which crams the regular parking full. It's MarshVegas for gods sake and it's 10 steps to the door.

BIG disappointment! From the minute we walked in the door and had to deal with the hostess with the personality of a wet, dirty dishrag to the minute we walked out $70 lighter in the wallet. My first cocktail came with no alcohol in it, so I had to switch to a bottled "Mike's" for my second drink. Burgers were 2/3 the size of the bun they came on (maybe they needed bigger buns to soak up all of that extra grease that was dripping off the burgers?). Sweet potato fries that came with the burger were stone cold when they were served. Noisy, noisy, noisy atmosphere......I can understand that it's going to be noisy in a bar, but don't they have quieter seating for those who don't want the "bar room" experience? Had high hopes for this place, but I'll never be back.

Great selection of food. Perfect for children/families as many of the booths have their own television at the table (built in the wall) and the ability to change the channel and volume. Wait staff are friendly and attentive. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the price of their sodas - $3.75 for a soda with free refills is a little too much for syrup and water. A beer can be had for a little more than that.

Thursday night at 5:50p. Sox v. Yanks at 7p. Valets were personable. Bar was packed so we were escorted to a booth at the 'bah'. Very noisy. Food was standard pub fare. Nachos were good. Chowder - ok. Clams were chewy. Margarita pizza - crust could have been crispier but the toppings were yummy. Salad greens were a little watery but overall, it was tasty.Differentiator: Christina.Personable, capable and competent. Christina made this a great experience. Attentive. Good sense of humor. Made sure we were satisfied. Thank you! Shout-out to one of our favorite servers of all times who we saw briefly: Kate W. So great to see you!

Blah, blah, blah (that is the other reviews). This place is very cool. Cool sports bar. Nothing quite like it on the south shore. Big screen TVs everywhere - I mean everywhere including several in the men's room and even outside. I loved the booths that have their own TV that you can control. I was there on a Tuesday night and it was not dead. Pats games I am told that the place rocks. Fine dining, no. Cool place for drinks and to watch the game, yes !

Food was yummy. Wait for food was over an hour. We went on Valentines Day and as mentioned before, they didn't seem to be able to handle the pressure of being busy. I would certainly come back when it was less busy. The manager checked on us and finally got our food to us. I would suggest the place to others, just wouldn't suggest going if you are in a rush.

First time in to check it out. Great lunch! Server was attentive but not intrusive. Will definitely be back to check out their Sunday brunch.

Really can't accurately review the food as I never ate there in the end. Just wanted to say we left because they didn't offer a lunch menu. Whatever they offered for dinner was all that was available for lunch and at dinner prices.

I am in love!! My 2 trips both exceeded any expectations I may have had. The food is amazing, the staff is top notch (Josh is the best!) and the experience itself was more than enjoyable!! APPS - North End nachos: Words can't describe how good these were. They are a must!! - Calamari: It was ok. There was an abundance of tentacles, which was a bit of a turnoff. - Buffalo wings (bone in): They were tasty! MEALS - BURGERS: Amongst the best I have had!! 2 thumbs up on the pulled pork burger. - COBB SALAD: It was fresh! And of course, who could forget the bar. Best beer selection EVER!!

Went on a Sunday about 5 p.m. Pretty full with big bar crowd. Had been here once before and had a burger which was fine. Got more "adventurous" this time. Started with the Malaysian Style Ribs appetizer and shared them with husband and other couple....we all agreed they were tasty, tender and delicious. Made a big mistake after that and didn't stick with a burger like last time. Ordered Chicken Parm. Had no expectations that it would taste like a North End meal but DID think it would be much better than my dear, late Irish mother's which was a can of tomato soup poured over spaghetti. Sauce tasted just like that....a can of Campbell's tomato soup. Gross. Ate some of it, brought the rest home for the dog. He's not picky. Nobody in our group of 4 voiced any raves about their selections either..fish and chips and veggie burger... and left food on their plates. On the plus side, service was acceptable as it was the last time we were there. If you go there, be realistic and stick to their wide beer selection and decent burgers and you'll be happy. Sports fans will enjoy their 5,000 TV's.

Went to the new Cask n Flagon in Marshfield. Looked online at there menu but when i got there they had NO wrap sandwiches. Hmmm. So my wife had the chix parm she said it was good. I had the roast beef sandwich. Yes it was good. They brought over some pretzel bread with some mustard butter. We loved it. Over all it was good just wish they sold the wrap sandwiches they had on the online menu.

GREAT find in a location that has struggled to have good food. We stopped on a whim when we were in the area with our family. All six of us and one child had easily one of the best meals we have had lately. The ribs were meaty, tender and delicious. The fish and chips were lightly battered with a great flavor. One person had a Reuben with what I believe he said was mac and cheese and said it was the best sandwich he'd ever had. Fries were exceptional and broccoli slaw was a treat. The service (I believe our servers name was Jimmy) was literally the best we have ever had. Well done and we will return!

Excellent burger. Perfect medium rare. Chili was great. Wife loved brisket. Nice selection of beer too. Great place. Feel of Boston on the south shore.

We did lunch today there. Horrible fish and chips. Can fish be tuff and chewy??? If you get it here, YES. Burger was so small the bun overpowered it!!!!! The server talked so fast, you wouldn't know what the specials were.....................never saw her again until she left the check. Don't think this place will last long. Lunch crowd was non-existent. Others already know what we learned today. Too bad. Need a good place in the area for lunch.

Its big, loud, new, and the help is more boston style than friendly south shore style. Maybe its the new opening but it did not thrill me. $4 coors light draft, can't get food in the pub area.

Had a great dinner on the patio couches with our family. The calamari was perfectly cooked and fried in a very light batter. Meals were devoured by all, including the pickiest young eaters. Portions were huge; all 3 adults brought half their meals home. Even after a year in business, the restaurant looks fresh and upscale, appealing to sports fans to young families to anyone in between. I appreciated that the many tvs were tuned to various sporting events, not a one to nightly news (even though there was breaking local news story connected to sports and a gristly murder). Service was great: we were attended to regularly without feeling rushed. Looking forward to another meal there soon!

Liked the valet service. We had a terrific buffalo chicken dip app. My wife really liked her salad/chicken dinner. My steak tips were very tasty but unfortunately very tough. Service was friendly and excellent. Atmosphere was fun although it's a bit noisy. I'll be back!

Great sports bar unless it is raining and they lose the directv satellite like last night during Bruins game 4 win over Pittsburgh. So def go to watch the big game unless it is raining then go somewhere else

This was my second trip here. The first time we went the place was extremely busy and service was slow. I was very understanding that night. Tonight was not nearly as busy. We walked in and grabbed a table for six without a wait. That was the only time we didn't wait during our entire visit. We waited for a server. Then waited was felt like an eternity for drinks to arrive. And then waited again for a server to come back and take our appetizer order. We should have placed our meal order at that time because yet again, we waited for our server. Waiting was the theme of the night followed closely behind by over priced and mediocre quality food. My wife had the buffalo Mac and cheese. After only two bites, she was done. The sauce was extremely rich and overly buttery tasting. I got a buffalo chicken sandwich. I figured its a bar, they have to have a buffalo sandwich. Well, they don't have one on the menu but they were kind enough to make me one....3 chicken fingers in a hamburger roll. I was expecting a bit more. Of the six meals that were served tonight, not one would any of us recommend to get again. This place is good for atmosphere and that's about it.

I sat at the bar for almost twenty minutes without a bartender offering me a drink or even acknowledging my boyfriend and me. It was painful, the bar had at least five bartenders and they all seemed lost and confused. Either these employees are badly trained, or they have no experience behind a bar. I hope that these horrendous excuses for bartenders are soon to be replaced. One girl working the bar leaned and talked to a few gentlemen for at least twenty minutes while other customers sat with empty beers and glasses. Another girl continuously played with her hair, which was not pulled back. One of the taps kicked and instead of getting a bar back, multiple bar tenders left half poured glasses of foam sitting beneath the taps and suggested something different to drink. People sat at the bar without being greeted for an unacceptable amount of time. My boyfriend and i almost left because no one even said Hello or be right with you. The lack of problem solving and evident lack of organization made me cringe. The bar itself is beautiful and well set up, hopefully the weak links will be replaced with adequate bartenders very soon. I had enough of watching the train wreck behind the bar, paid my tab and moved to a table. Once we were promptly seated, our server Lisa saved the evening for us. She was friendly and made helpful suggestions, none of which we experienced at the bar. She offered us a drink list, which I was scared to order off knowing who was going to make the drinks. I ordered a Dead Rise. It tasted like pure lime juice. It was disgusting, thankfully Lisa understood and had the bartenders add some extra ingredients and made it drinkable. The drink list items do not sound appealing at all, and after my first attempt I decided to stick to beer. Lisa suggested a few items and we loved them all. The hummus and black bean dip was delicious and the buffalo wings were great. Thanks to Lisa, I will give the Cask n Flagon another chance. The bar staff needs to be replaced with people who actually know what they are doing, the drink list needs to be revamped...but the waitstaff and even the bus girls were super friendly and eager to help. I hope the problems that can effect any new bar will be fixed promptly and that bad employees will be replaced by a more experienced and friendlier bar staff.

The Cask in Marshfield is a great place to watch a game or multiple sporting events as they have TV's everywhere. The food is very average and prices are in my opinion high. For a sports bar, this place should consider having twice as many appetizer selections and some better choices as well. I think $14 for chili nachos with canned guacamole is a bit much. The guacamole is the worst. The Buffalo chicken dip at $11.50 is just okay; tasty, but the chicken is a bit chewy. The Asian chicken wings are excellent and have a nice taste. The boneless buffalo chicken is just average and the pizza is very boring looking. I did not try it, but it didn't look that appetizing. Overall, this is a good place to watch a game(s) and grab a beer or a mixed drink. My comment on the the bartenders is that they are very average and not not professionally trained servers you would expect a place that has invested so much money into the building to have waiting on customers. Engaging the customers, asking their names and smiling once in a while can go a long way in succeeding in this business, especially when this is a location that will survive on regulars and not tourists that are heading to Fenway. This place has a long way to go. Tweak the menu and adjust the prices and ask the bartenders to engage the customers.

New restaurant, nice atmostphere. Huge restaurant, we sat at a table in bar area. Only 1 waitress in entire room...very very slow service. The kitchen got our order wrong. Finally waitress came by and was able to correct it. Food was only average. Fries were great. Took a long time for her to come and get our card to pay the bill. Wendy's would have been better.

No offense, Cask 'n Flagon, but I had very low expectations of you. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food here. The pretzel bread, for starters, is awesome - it comes with some sort of mustard-butter, and it's far superior to standard bread and butter. I got a bloody mary, and it was perfectly made - with just the right amount of spice. For my meal, I got a veggie burger, and it was honestly one of the best veggie burgers I've had. They subbed my fries for veggies without hesitation. My husband got a blacked chicken caesar - I tried a bite, and the chicken was awesome. Each booth has its own tv, which is great - though I don't typically watch tv while I dine, nor do I condone my little one vegging out in front of the tv for hours at home, it was a nice distraction for him while we enjoyed our lunch. The beer menu was pretty extensive, and there were some ridiculous sounding things on the dessert menu that I would have happily indulged in if I wasn't carrying around this stubborn baby weight :)

Was so fired up after my last visit here I had to wait this long to post a review. The last week of August, I came with 5 friends here for a late night drink. We are all natives from the area and love the Cask location in Boston. This visit was a Friday night around 11pm. We initially asked the hostess for a table and sat there for a few minutes with no service. Now let me preface this by saying the place was DEAD. The tables were empty, and the bar had only about 10 patrons around it. There were 2 or 3 bartenders working and one barback. After having no one greet us at the table, we stood up and decided to just order at the bar instead and take our drinks outside to the faux-fire pit (which we were excited about...that was a really nice feature actually but it kept shutting off every 3-8 minutes in a very annoying fashion). So this group of 6 of us walks up to the bar. This wasn't a situation where one person gets lost in the hustle bustle of a busy bar scene, which this was not, but 6 new thirsty people looking for a drink. Another few minutes went by and the bartenders were all talking amongst themselves in the middle of the bar. I ended up flagging down the barback as he left the bar. I asked him if we could please get some service as no one had even greeted us, let alone looked our way. He advised me he was the barback but went and told the guy bartender we were here. Another few minutes passed without anything. Finally, I all but hopped over the bar waving at the guy bartender. He was so rude, didn't even apologize for making us wait, even after I brought it to his attention that we had been waiting for quite some time. He grumpily made our drinks, not even putting straws or garnishes into the cocktails that were ordered. I work in the industry and hate nothing more than bad service. But this was over the top. I hope the manager reads this and takes action keeping a better eye on the type of service the bartenders are providing, because especially on a slow night like that was, is unacceptable. This visit certainly will deter me from recommending this location and also coming back anytime soon.
