Neillio's is perfect for a yummy, well-rounded, filling lunch to-go. The food here is always fresh and always tasty and the prices are great. Along with a hot bar of homemade entrées and sides, they have a salad bar and pasta and other cold foods. You can get fresh roasted turkey as an entrée or make it into a Thanksgiving sandwich all year long. The one thing about this place is you must take your food to-go; not sit down options here. They have a small parking lot that can be crowded during lunchtime, but inside the line always moves quickly.

Going to have to give this place a bad review, the place comes highly recommended so im assuming the food is good. I arrived around 6:25pm (not realizing they close at 6:30pm...that's my fault for not checking store hours.) still i feel i should have been able to get an order in. Since this is my 1st time and its partially my fault i wont give it a 1 star. But i will say thats poor customer service on the staff so i will give it 3 stars

It was all quite tasty and the service was very good. I had the turkey breast with gravy, green beans and corn. It's a great place to pick up something to take back home, or in my case, to your hotel. Nice options to pick up some sinfully good desserts, as well. Much better than picking up fast food, but just as quick.

We love the Brisket,, Chicken Parm, Turkey Terrific. Their chicken wings are huge and very tasty. Rib is a bit dry for my taste but my sons love it. Crab cake has lots of crab and very fresh. Mash potato, stuffing and gravy are all terrific. Mac&Cheese is just OK. I am a bit disappointed with the Mac&Cheese. I had high hope for it. It also has healthy items, fresh vegetable and salad bar by weight. My two sons and I have frequented this place this summer (twice a week). It is that good. Service is quick and very detail oriented. Lunch time is busy and they try to move the line as fast as they can, still they don't compromise their service or product. Price is very reasonable, less than $10 per sandwich and $12.99 for a Chicken wing/Rib combo with two sides. Portion is good. Dee Dee

I knew it must be good due to the crowd. They moved through the line surprisingly quick. Great chow and very kind staff. I'll definitely come here again!

BLT, corned beef reuben & brisket out of this world! Bread was fresh and meat piled high with just the right amount of flavor (spreads included). Of course we even walked out with a quiche that was available for purchase with salads etc. Those behind the counter working directly with the food just seemed to know their stuff and made suggestions for added flavor and even food ideas for our next visit. Can't wait to go back!

The guys at work took me out to Neillio's Gourmet Kitchen so could get some air with our lunch. We picked up and went to a park. There isn't indoor seating. The main event is the turkey. It comes with sides that you can pick. They also make huge sandwiches, but you can request a half. For some reason I had a Mediterranean wrap that was pretty tasty. SO NOW I NEED TO GO BACK FOR TURKEY! Yum, yum, yum, Tryptophan afternoon nap. The servers are outstanding at getting hordes through the line and they get the orders ready fast. Cool place, I will be back

Got the Turkey Terrific and it was DELICIOUS. If there was some seating I would give it all five stars.

Amazing sandwiches, from Mozz, pesto and tomato to incredible chicken soup and simply fresh fresh salads. A definite out of your way place to go if you're not around the area and if you are, you'd be here everyday. They have everything you could want.

This place has the best sandwiches and prepared food. Great place to get lunch. The Thanksgiving sandwich is incredible. A little on the pricey side but completely worth it.

Outstanding specialty sandwhiches and meals. I've been coming here for years for their Turkey Terrific sandwhich. Essentially it is a Thanksgiving sandwhich, while good, it is way too big for me to comfortably eat at lunch. I might recommend it without the stuffing, with the bread it tends to be a little too much. The pastrami is also excellent and very rich, as is their applie pie. Their menu is just the right size where just about everything they make here is top notch.

The best sandwich on Thursdays and Saturday's in Lexington is without a doubt Neillio's Brisket sandwich. They slow cook and brisket slathered in their own special marinade and serve it until it is gone (which it usually is by noon, or early afternoon on slow day). If it isn't the most moist, tender, and just all around delicious sandwich meat ever then the moon landing really was faked! Today though I had a close second and it was the freshly made spiral ham in a ciabatta, with cheddar, spicy mustard, tomatoes, lettuce, and red onion all grilled. Now that was amazing. If they have it a bit of avocado would make it truly epic, hope they have it next Wednesday. This place also does great ribs too, and has a very nice and fresh salad bar and the staff are always friendly, recognize you after a while. Also has a very nice selection of quiches and a variety of breads to choose from for your sandwich.

OMG...Why did I wait so long to come in!?!?!? It was AMAZING. It's funny too bc when I said it was my first time, the guy was like, "You'll be back, trust me". YUP LOL. Got the Thanksgiving sandwhich.. I think it's called the Turkey Terrific? The bread was nice and fluffy, just the right mix of mayo, cranberry sauce, turkey, and stuffing :-) I also got a side of gravy and dunked lol I was in heaven lol Also got the mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and squash. All very delicious. Just good old home cooking I was looking for with none of the work. My only regret is that I forgot to pick up dessert while I was in there and now it's closed. Oh well, next time. HEHEHE.

Soooo good! The food is "real" and tasty. I love the Turkey Terrific and am thankful to work at a company that routinely orders Neillio's sandwiches for lunch.

Overheard at Neillio's Customer #1: is this the kind of place where everything is good? Customer #2: Yup! So that was my introduction to Neillio's. Homecooked food is available for takeaway on those nights when you don't feel like cooking. From hot food (chicken parm is highly recommended) to frozen soups, stews, shepherd's pie, ravioli's and lasagnas, there will be something here that's wholesome and comforting to eat. The sides are excellent, I especially appreciate that the vegetables are not overcooked, they still have some crunch in them, and they are not soaked in fat and salt like at most hot food places, so they taste like vegetables. It's not all perfection--the mac and cheese is very watery and soggy, and the Romanian pastrami is crusted with a very sugary glaze that is not to my taste. They do have seasonal things like right now there's a wheatberry salad with cranberries, but they don't try to chase trends like homemade ketchup or uni with truffle oil or anything like that. Thank God. There are sandwiches, deli salads, lovely cakes and cookies. Fast friendly service, too. No seating, but a great, convenient place to pick up a meal for you and your family. They cater, too.

One of my favorite places to eat. Has a sit down area by the window but not many seats. Food: Favorite item is the Turkey Terrific, its basically thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich. Mac and Cheese is also really good. Drinks: You standard collection of sodas and juices Service: It's a deli/catering so theres no waiters or anything, go up order food, pay.

Great local place with great prices. Roast beef sandwich was delicious (I asked for some horseradish on it - would have been a bit bland without). The 7-grain bread was a little bit dry - I'll try something different next time. The cookies were good too, and I spent at least five minutes admiring all the roast turkey and spare ribs under the counter - never seen this stuff looking as good as here. With the opportunity to grab a dinner container for the family (louisiana jambalaya anyone?), this place is high on my list of places to stop for lunch again. I ate outside the Starbucks across the street and enjoyed sharing my sandwich with the chickadees and a baby bunny living in the shrubs - not sure if Neillio's gets credit for that part of the experience.

Goodness, I love it here. Yeah it's a wee bit pricey, but truly unique gourmet sandwiches in Lexington? Food: Turkey Terrific- Everyone and their dog who has heard of Neillio's has heard of their TT sub. And yeah, it's as good as advertised: Thanksgiving dinner in your mouth. The only drawback to the TT is that the turkey is occasionally inconsistent, though I feel like this sort of slight inconsistency at any gourmet shop is natural. I usually enjoy getting a softer sort of bread with the TT, one of the few times where I feel like the contrast of the bread hurts the sandwich. Mac n' Cheese - The best mac I've ever had. Hands down. So perfectly creamy and gooey. If you like mac in any capacity, I dare you not to like this. Chicken Parm - Pretty basic chicken parm, just done very well. They're consistent with the sauce/chicken/cheese/bread ratio. The chicken is always fresh and has a nice crust. Atmosphere: There's a small counter by the front windows. Personally, I'd grab and go.

Not all surprising that Neillio's gets mobbed with hangry customers during lunch hours, and securing a parking spot can feel like going to the mall on Black Friday. That said, it's all about the end product, experience, and value. Neillio's consistently serves up generous portions of flavorful dishes. Yes, the Turkey Terrific lives up to the hype, and I really enjoy the Romanian Pastrami Sandwich. My unsophisticated palate is also a big fan of their St. Louis BBQ and "Oriental" Ribs (don't worry - I have no plans to start a grassroots campaign for Neillio's to change the "Oriental" to "Asian"...I didn't notice any overt swastikas or cross burning in the vicinity), and ditto for the baked stuffed haddock. My wife gives the thumbs up for the Mediterranean Vegetable Wrap, Mediterranean Orzo, and Twist Pasta Salad. Though not a perfect substitute for Cutty's in Brookline, we're big fans of Neillio's, and they've helped to assuage our separation anxiety.

Lunch is always great at Neillios: I highly recommend the Turkey Terrific (thanksgiving in a sandwich) or the AWESOME Romanian pastrami when it is available. Fast, tasty, great service.

I recently changed jobs and of course, had to turn to yelp to find nearby noms for lunch. This place is.. awesome. Both the turkey and chicken sandwiches have HU!GE CHUNKS of meat.. and if you know me, you know that meat = winning in my book! The pictures really do not do the sandwiches justice, you'll have to come here yourself! The best part? A giant, meaty, sandwich sets you back $7-$8.. whaa? This stuff would be like $12 at High Rise! Neillio's can get crowded during lunch, but the guys at the sandwich counter churns the babies out like hot potatoes. There is also a make your own salad bar, giant selection of baked goods (the husband and I fought over the last bite of the blondie.. for reals), as well as frozen entrees for dinner. There is no seating, so take your sammach to go and free up parking for the rest of us office drones!

Food is good, on the somewhat bland side, but portions are large, food is fresh and service is simply outstanding. I think I go to this place because more than anything I love the feel of a local place with local people.

It's just ok. The turkey sandwich is good but the prepared entrees and frozen things (lasagna, stews) are not all that great.

I absolutely love their Turkey Terrific Sandwich. The gravy they put on the mash potatoes is also to die for. I make my husband drive me an hour and a half to Lexington whenever we come to Rhode Island, because I miss this place so much!

I am a man who loves his sandwiches, and this place won me over on my first visit. Based on other yelp reviews, I went with the turkey terrific, and it lived up to the hype: well-to-over-sized for the price and absolutely delicious. My friend asked the friendly server what he liked, and he glowingly recommended the pastrami (only avail. Thursday and Saturday). He kindly carved a couple pieces so we could sample, and my friend was sold. Atmosphere is a large deli without seating. Clean interior and appealing exterior. Everything looks fresh. Not an exclusionary feel, as the "gourmet" name may suggest, but lives up to the title. Overall great experience. Will return and recommend to others!

Back again to this fine eatery during my last trip to Boston for business. Tasty, home-cooked food at a great price. I just wish they'd open in the Bay Area! Friendly service, too.

Two words: Turkey Terrific. Absolutely flipping amazing. Words do not do it justice. Cranberry sauce, warm oven roasted turkey - that is carved to order - mayo and french bread. Everything is gourmet, fresh and delicious. The boyfriend brought me their turkey stew when I was sick - it was amazing, thick gravy, pearl onions, huge red bliss potato chunks, and think pieces of carved turkey. They have frozen meals that you can buy to cook at home, and next time I want to try the eggplant parm.

So we all decided we were going to go to Neillio's one day for lunch (work is close) so I went over & over the menu (Im not a sandwich girl) I decided on the Veggie Wrap & then it began.... I came on yelp to try to find some reviews for it & see what the actual "Veggies" on it were... so there are som 15,389 reviews of Neillios (Ok I exaggerate) and all but maybe 3 of them are about the Turkey Terrific... So I start to think to myself, You know what I have never had this sandwich in all the years it has been the rave at several locations all over The lovely place we call New England... So I went all in & ordered it... (with the Side of Gravy as suggested in I think her name was Kristina's Review)... I was expecting Greatness & several AHA Moments & I just didnt get them... Dont get me wrong it was good, I was suprised it was warm, but it was just Meh, The stuffing was Mediocre, the Cranberry Sauce was probably canned but it was decent, the turkey was Very Fresh & there were large portions of it ( I got it on a Braided Roll)... But it wasnt as spectacular as I anticipated because of all the reviews... I would probably order it again, I just wonder if I got it on a bad day & it was just meh... When ordering though I did find out what was on the Veggie Wrap (Grilled Zucchini, Squash, Roasted Red Peppers, Carrots, Lettuce Tomato, Hummus, Avocado & Cheese)... I am getting that next time & Ill let you know how it was...

I ordered catering for my sister's baby shower. The food was delicious, the delivery was on time and easy. They even left a cambro to keep the food hot until the guests arrived. The prices are very competitive and the selection is perfect for trying to please a crowd. Working with Shelly was wonderful and she was very accommodating. I highly recommend them for your next event!

About 11 years ago I had just started a new job in Lexington. Third day there a co-worker's voice came over the office speaker system and asked if anyone wanted anything from "The Turkey Nazi". People came out of their offices yelling Turkey Terrific" down the hall to basically place their order. Being a rookie, I volunteered to go with our mailroom guy to the "Turkey Nazi's" place and see what the big deal was. I was told to order the Turkey Terrific sandwich and 11 years, two towns over and three other jobs, I still get one a month! LOL! Love it still and I should be given commission for all the converts I've brought into the Neillio's fold. The place is very simple. You go up to the counter, order your sandwich, which they make from still warm, fresh cut, oven roasted turkey breast, two scoops of stuffing and cranberry. They hand it to you and you move down the line to pay for it. Kind of like The Soup Nazi, but much, much nicer. Their hot meals as well as their frozen take home selections are all wonderful. Thei beef stew is another personal favorite! Try it. You wont be disappointed.

Great food, I'm here often. Try a half chicken dinner with two sides for lunch and you probably won't be hungry for dinner. There is a large option of sides to choose from. The sandwiches are great, everyone knows the turkey terrific. But try their daily specials, sometimes they really throw something interesting and delicious. Good salad bar too if you want to keep it light.

  • Sabina C.

My first experience there was ok. Service was friendly and lots of variety for food. However, my quiche had hair in it and that's a big problem and even if it was an isolated issue may speak to the cleanliness of the place. Food tasted below average of similar places. I am surprised at the high ratings. Perhaps their catering is better!?

  • Holly K.

As suggested by quite a few other Yelpers I ordered the Terrific Turkey (on whole wheat bread). The sandwich was great but, I would not recommend the whole wheat bread. One side of the bread got all soggy from the cranberry sauce (sigh) and halfway through eating my half the whole thing kind of just fell apart due to mentioned sogginess (double sigh). But, that didn't stop me from enjoying my fresh carved turkey sandwich. My friend got the tuna and avocado wrap and really enjoyed it. I will definitely be coming back here for other kinds of lunch deliciousness.

We have enjoyed turkey dinners from Neillio's many times. We got Thanksgiving's dinner from them this year. It was great. Easy to order, easy to pick up, and delicious. Thanks for making it easy and great Neillio's!

Can't believe I only recently discovered this place after living in the area for 10+ years. I will never go to another sandwich place again because Neillio's has stolen my heart (and stomach). As it was my first time, I ordered the classic Turkey Terrific. It was honestly the best sandwich I've ever tasted in my life, and I'm not even the biggest fan of Thanksgiving. Tender and fresh turkey slices, a giant portion of stuffing, and cranberry to top it off - the worst part was that the sandwich was so giant I could only eat half of it...and grudgingly gave the other half to my bf. Will definitely come back whenever I'm in need of a quick take-out lunch!

  • Ron L.

Good homestyle meals served fresh each day. Service is fast, the place is clean. Food is ok. Some specials are better than others. I would personally avoid the pastrami sandwiches. Each time I've ordered one they are full of fat and grizzle and I end up having to throw away half the sandwich. Now if you like crabcakes, they have some of the best around.

  • Talbott C.

Great deli (no tables, take out only). Home made pastrami is amazing. Call first because they only have it 2 days a week.

  • Catherine W.

Really glad I stopped by; had read the positive Yelp reviews and was intrigued. They have a small parking lot in front of their store. Was really impressed with the quality of their hot entrees. I chose the beef brisket with 2 sides for $10.95-it was an excellent value for a generous helping and the dish was delicious! I also tried the cold Asian noodles which were just okay. Will definitely return the next time I'm in the area.

This was unlike any other restaurant I've been to--despite being VERY busy the staff was very friendly. I ended up going with a chicken salad wrap and it was quite delicious--chicken salad seems to be a big hit or miss for me--this time it was definitely a hit. I just had wished I tried the Turkey dish that everyone seems to be raving about...Next time, I guess.

  • Kimmie M.

My five-star review is for the two sandwiches I tried - the pastrami on rye and turkey terrific. These were amazing. I also tried one of their turkey dinners with two sides (mac n' cheese and squash), but it was just so-so. Their apple pie is also WAAAY too sweet and tastes like it's from a grocery store for my taste. The sandwiches are big, cheap, and filling. Can't beat em.

Neillio's is one of the best options for take-out lunch in Lexington. The food is always fresh and generally made to order. They offer a long menu of unique sandwiches, a full salad bar, hot meals, and desserts from local bakeries. It would be near impossible for someone to enter this place and not find something they would like to eat. I have never been to Neillio's during a lunch hour and not found it positively crammed with people. This is great for them, but can result in poor service from time to time, as the objective of the servers becomes speed. Understandable. Their impatience, though, cost them a star during my last visit. I ordered a Mediterranean Veggie sandwich with minor customization. Before I could finish uttering even the name of the sandwich, the server had walked away to begin making it. And it became obvious he had ignored my requests when I watched him add fillings to the sandwich which I had asked him to hold. When I reminded him what I did and didn't want in the sandwich, he became visibly frustrated, exclaiming "you didn't tell me!" I certainly had. He remade the sandwich, shared a "can you believe this guy?" chuckle with a fellow server, and that was that. Whatever. If you're not bothered by repeating yourself and keeping the servers honest, you'll love this place.

I have been hearing about this place around work for some time now, and finally decided to try it - Wow, delicious. I went to pick up lunch on a Friday, and ordered a chicken & cheddar with bacon and avocado on marbled rye. It was so delicious, and huge! And was about 8 bucks. I could only eat half, but was happy to share the leftovers. They have a huge selection of prepared foods, which all look to be the same caliper of sapid. I will definitely be back.

  • Lyndsay K.

Shit yeah! This place is fabulous! I only got off at this exit because I saw a sign for Panera and was looking for a quick lunch. I didn't see the Panera (it's a little further up the road), but I stopped in the Starbucks parking lot and pulled up my Yelp app to see what was nearby. Lo and behold - Neillio's was right across the street. I got a turkey, swiss and bacon sandwich on whole grain bread. The turkey was actual carved white meat turkey - carved in front of me! Not deli meat. The sandwich was ridiculously huge! So good. So cheap. So totally going to be craved by me when I get knocked up some day.

  • Matt P.

Best sandwiches in the area by far!! Just beware if you decide to get the Turkey Terrific for lunch on a work day - you may fall asleep at your desk due to a deliciousness/tryptophan overload! Trying this place out is a must!

  • Margaret C.

Thank god for Neillio's. My office picks up lunch here a couple times a month--it is take-out only--and it is an amazingly welcome break from the other local options. It's actual, serious, made from scratch food. Office favorites are the chicken parm (I've never had it, but others are huge fans, though they wish it had more sauce), the quiche special which is always great and so cheap, and the turkey terrific (thanksgiving on a sandwich, and they do a fabulous job of it). Get the shrimp and corn chowder, when you see it--probably not good for you, but an utterly perfect mix of creaminess and light broth, tender rock shrimp and still-juicy corn kernels. Occasionally they have an off day/off item, but you really can't beat it. Outstanding sweets selection, too.

One of the best lunch shops I have ever been too. They cook everything right there and it is really fresh. The sandwhiches are awesome, keep an eye out for the daily specials too they are awesome.

  • Alexander M.

Their sandwiches are nice, but are very inconsistent in how they come out. The staff is OK, but could be better, if they helped people choose and made recommendations. Selection of items on the menu is very good though. In my humble opinion, the quality of food has gone down significantly in the past couple of years. Prices are as high as were though. I hope that they would start cutting their sandwiches all the way through; press them in the panini press for long enough for them to defrieze; and would display their great variety of breads, at least pictures. Nevertheless, Neillio's is still a very good place to catch a bite. Just be very nice to the guy who will be making your sandwich, or you might need a fork and knife to eat it =)

Neillio's saves countless office workers in the Lexington/Bedford area from lunch doom and gloom. They offer a mix of an awesome salad bar, baked goods, hot entrees, overflowing sandwiches as well as pre-assembled food in aluminum containers that can be cooked at home. Some of my favorites are their chicken wings, turkey tips and half chickens mm. They are very fresh and perfectly seasoned. I have also had some delicious fish and sides. Their baked goods are divine. Lunch will set you back between 8-11 bucks. Also worth a visit if you do not feel like cooking dinner that night.

this place is good, I just don't think its the best sandwich in lexington. its always crowded and they do move pretty quick. the sandwiches are expensive compared to the other options in this town. the staff is friendly and food is pretty good. I always loved the egg salad because it isn't full of mayo. worth going to, just too crowded and a bit pricy.

Used to work right next door to this place and it was a definite stop for my lunch. Sooooo delicious. They have daily specials, soups, quiche and more. There are a ridiculous number of hot options for lunch, complete with sides. There's a decent size sandwich menu, and everything is fresh. The meat in the sandwiches is real meat that they've cooked, NOT cold cuts. Oh, did I forget to mention that there's a wall of fridges with not only a ton of drink options but plenty of pre-packed salads? Oh, and in the rest of the fridges they're stocked daily with FRESHLY MADE pastas, sauces and other dishes for you to bring home. I bought the ravioli once and will never go back to frozen. So. freaking. amazing. There's a well stocked salad bar, and another counter where you can get different pasta salads, tortellini salad, spring rolls, spanikopta, Greek salad and much more by the pound. And finally.... the freshly made dessert treats from Concord teacakes. They're all my favorite, but I never pass up on a black and white cookie. Sweet heaven. They advertise that they do catering. I have no experience with them here but I'm sure the food is fantastic. Staff is always very pleasant, place is sparkling, but it can be a little pricey. A prepacked salad and drink was usually around $10.... but if you want cheap, you'll get cheap, dirty food amirite? Worth the price. Unfortunately, I don't work next door anymore and have to make a special trip to visit. This was the only con about leaving my job, in all seriousness. You can't go wrong here.

I have two words: Turkey Terrific. Before you eat anything here, it's their Signature sandwich, the Turkey Terrific sandwich that will make you an automatic fan (if not the huge portions they give too). I have been a fan of this place the moment this sandwich reached my mouth. It reminds me of my childhood after Thanksgiving and making Thanksgiving leftover sandwiches (but BETTER!). Now I can have Thanksgiving any time of the year (except Sundays when they're closed :P). I love how it's real hand carved moist turkey, stuffed with stuffing, with just the right amount of sweetness from the cranberry sauce. For you BACON LOVERS, you can get it BLT style. This place is the perfect lunch place, but they also serve many dinner specials each week, along with take-home foods already made in their freezer. Althought they serve many dinner meals, it's definitely more of a take-out place, with a small area for stand eating. They have many other items on their menu and they don't skimp on their portion size for reasonable prices. I have yet to eat everything on their menu, but I've enjoyed the other selections they have to offer. It's hard to not go with the usual though. :) Side note: If you like chips and you like spicy, I've discovered Mama Zuma's Spicy chips in their snack section which you won't be disappointed, BUT don't say I didn't warn you...they are SPICY!

AMAZING food. They serve anything you could want. Hot "dinner entrees" for lunch, sandwiches, salads, soup. Their claim to fam is the Turkey Terrific. Which is indeed terrific. Try it. You'll fall in love. PS. They also have frozen dinner entrees you can take home! :)

My first month at my new job in Waltham, I introduced my co-workers to the glory that is Neillio's Gourmet Kitchen in nearby Lexington. I can't begin to explain the amount of goodwill that single act has generated; sometimes I think that I'm really bad at my job but that they keep me around in honor of this one contribution to our collective well-being. The turkey is downright amazing, and not just the glorious white meat breast that is served up in heaps on club sandwiches and turkey terrifics. I was so taken with Nellio's that I ordered a full turkey with Matzoh stuffing for Passover, and the bird was tremendous hit with all who attended. And they have a lot more to offer than just their turkey. They have rotating entrees that are (usually) excellent. Their orange chicken and chicken cordon bleu come to mind as great choices. I wasn't thrilled with their lasagna, but there is so much variety that I simply avoid those entrees that I don't consider outstanding. But the one dish that stands above the rest is the Romanian pastrami, offered on Thursdays and Saturdays. It is hands down the best pastrami sandwich I have ever had, in Boston, New York, or anywhere else for that matter. Two of my co-workers have described the sandwich as "life-changing". Yeah, it's that good. As many others have noted, the portions are excellent for the price. I eat here at least twice a week, and you'll always find me there on Thursdays (or as my co-workers and I call it, "Pastrami Day!").

I travel to the area for business twice a month, and I make it a point to get lunch here as often as possible. The food is fantastic: they offer a wide variety of fresh, delicious, interesting sandwiches, entrees, salads, soups, a nd desserts, ranging from comfort foods like pot pie, stews, and turkey dinner to lovely, light fish entrees and salads. I even hauled home a quart of their frozen turkey stew, which (thankfully) stayed frozen for the four-hour trip on Amtrak. I love this place!

Neillio's recently catered a charity event at our house and we couldn't have been happier about it. They organized the whole thing, from planning through cleanup, not forgetting details like wonderful flower arrangements. They also arranged all the party equipment rentals and coordinated the deliveries. We felt we were in good hands right from the start. And it goes without saying that they provided excellent food, designing an interesting menu to fit our requirements. Happily, the quantities were generous, so that we had plenty of leftovers to eat for the next few days. We'll definitely use Neillio's again next time we need catering.

WOW! This place is awesome! They have the best sandwiches and pre-made food in town. My favorite is the turkey terrific. It's like Thanksgiving in your mouth year round. They also have a wide selection of other pre-made foods and desserts that are also delicious. There is no question about it, go here, eat food, and be happy!

Great family owned spot for lunch in Lexington. Delicious sandwiches and soups. Be aware - there is no seating, so you will be eating your lunch as take-out. You will enjoy it!

Thanks to Neillio's I was able to fly into Boston, pick up two full turkey dinners, and serve our stranded college student and his friends a real 'homemade' Thanksgiving. Thank you thank you! They even took the entire order out to the car! We will be using them again in the future. The pies were great too.

Neillio's was a great standby for a quick, fresh lunch...until I found bugs in the lettuce of my salad. Clearly the lettuce was never washed. Never again. What a shame. I really used to really like you, Neillio's.

We were out seeing the historical sites and decided to check yelp for a good lunch spot. WOW, so glad we did! The sandwiches were so yummy and large. I would highly recommend it to anyone passing through the area. There is a large variety of foods to satisfy anyone in your group. Also everything looks and tastes very fresh. Yum!!! I would give it five stars if there were seats to sit down and eat... But there are none. We ate in our car.

Huge fan of their turkey dinners! Delicious! Their baked goods are really great too, all around have never had a bad experience!

Solid three start experience. I've gotten a few different sandwiches, all pretty decent. They turkey is on the dry side so be warned - not so terrific. I've also gotten a few of the frozen catering items, the shepherd's pie was pretty good but I would avoid the chicken pot pie - totally bland, dry stringy chicken and weird brown color.

One of my two favorite sandwich places in Lexington. Anything with the turkey, fresh from the bird, cut to order. They will custom make anything. So big, I love just getting a half sandwich. Friends love it too. The family loves their dinners to order for carry out, so I do that for family twice a year. Only a win coming in their front door.

Turkey Terrific? If you mean - terrifically delicious?! And terrifically enormous?! And terrifically cheap, for all that enormity and deliciousness?! Then yes, VERY terrific indeed.

Neillio's seems to be going downhill. Today I got a nice big fly in my sandwich. Kinda looked like a dragonfly but worse. My pasta salad was hard and the mayo was that clearish color it turns when its bad. Barf. Bye Bye Neillio's.

Not having had the time to experience all that neillio's had to offer (running off to catch a plane), the perception at first entrance was delightful. They had a fresh salad bar, delicious desserts lined up, huge roasted turkeys in the deli shelf window and a bunch of premade foods lining the refrigerator section. I mean, how often does one see fresh roasted turkey in a deli? This place is no joke. Sadly, the turkey sandwich I ordered was super dry. I ordered a turkey on multi-grain with heavy mayo, tomato and lettuce. Maybe I should've stuck with their menu and had the turkey with cranberry and stuffing? Whoops! My bf got the Italian sub and that was really good. I wish I had another day to really explore all they had to offer because they really give the impression that they care about what they produce.

Had a Neillio's Cater a business meeting last night and it was fantastic. Ordered sandwiches with deserts for each. They delivered a bountiful supply of sandwiches (Great assortment) and a huge plate of cookies and brownies. All were satisfied and some of us have enough for lunch today. Take advantage of this great service they offer. Christopher McDonald Lexington Eye Associates

Ok so this is a take out place only. That said, picture an upscale Boston Market with amazing turkey. We've placed orders for Thanksgiving Dinner with them 2 years in a row with great results. Specialties aside from the hot food (I recommend showing up Monday for the lamb and Friday for the top round roast beef ... yum!), they carve up a generous amount of turkey either for a dinner (2 sides) or in a sandwich. The wife and I prefer the BLT Turkey terrific - fantastic stuffing with cranberry sauce, turkey and bacon, lettuce and tomato and mayo on your choice of bread (we go with the default braided). The turkey gravy with the turkey dinners are amazing, and they have freezers packed full of ready to warm up dinners if you're ever in a jam, though I've never tried them. A solid choice, just wish they had a section to sit down and eat instead of having to bring it back to my desk at work to enjoy. The only knock I had was against the spring rolls I bought once on a whim - you need to reheat in an oven to crisp them up again because they were given to me cold and soggy which made for a so-so appetizer to my main meal.

The Perils of Observed Holidays, if Celebrated Everyday: - Christmas: Elves Union Strike in the North Pole. Nike and the Gap lend their child laborers to meet the increased need, thereby thrusting jolly ol' Saint Nick on to the UNICEF blacklist. An assassination attempt would only prove to be fatal to Rudolph, who finally goes down in hist-o-ry. - Arbor Day: No perils here. The world would be a better place. -eats granola, pets squirrel- - Fourth of July: Bright flashes and thunderous booms from nightly fireworks displays would lead our nation in to an epidemic of Class 2 seizures and post-concert deafness. Plus, the gunpowder use would somehow detract from the war effort. YELLOW RIBBONS SUPPORT OUR TROOPS BAKE FLAG CAKES! - Halloween: Willy Wonka = next fascist dictator. A population of chunky, toothless children would renew attention to Jonathan Swift's Modest Proposal. Plus, commonplace sightings would render sexy nurses, devils and oil tycoons no longer sexy. - Grandparents Day: The casual and fine dining community would decay from the steady influx of 12 year olds taking Meema and Peepa out for their celebratory side salad and water. Separate checks, 8% tip on $6. The snail-like eating pace and lack of next destination would stretch the Early Bird to all business hours, forcing mass shutdowns and creating a suicidal service industry. - Groundhog Day: (Copyright 1993 Universal Studios, Harold Ramis and Bill Murray. The oft mentioned Turkey Terrific puts the carved-in-front-of-you bird, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mayo on your choice of bread and in to your face. There's even a modified version that throws BLT in the mix, with absolutely mouthwatering results. Locally bottled bevs, small batch chips, fresh baked goods, bulk candies and an extensive deli case round out the offerings. Everything is well worth the already reasonable price tag, and the folks behind the counter are the epitome of Pleasantville. Find it, eat everything, repeat. After all, it's the holidays.

Definitely A-OK lunch spot in Lexington. Love the chicken soup & quiches. My co-worker is obsessed with the Turkey Terrific sandwich and Turkey dinner but I will not succumb to the temptation for fear of the food coma that would certainly follow. Negatives: No sitting area, small parking lot and a tad pricey for lunch.

They lost track of a large family Thanksgiving turkey order yesterday, and, after some initial near panic on their part and then lame suggestions ('we can make a new order in ~90min, or you can have many pounds of white meat instead right now'), and finally some more-sensible suggestions and pressure on my part, made everything whole immediately. We got another family's smaller later order with extra half-breast from the deli, and it was all good. (Did not offer anything off pricewise.) We will be back next November, same as in years past.

This place was deff my go to lunch spot when i was in school and I would travel a solid 15 minutes to get one of their sandwiches or home made dishes. Amazing turkey terrific with some of the best stuffing and juiciest turkey. Only problem is when you cant finish it, its hard to eat later cold and you cant heat it up with the cranberry. Split a turkey terrific and you'll be very happy. My parents beg me to come here when they visit from NY

I don't really understand why this place gets such rave reviews. I ordered an expensive chicken pesto panini, and it was nothing more than mediocre. The sandwich had lots of relatively thick chicken pieces, although neither here nor there in the flavor department. But when I order something with pesto in it, I expect it to taste like pesto. It just sort of hinted at having a slight dab of something resembling pesto, but that's about it. The bread was also overly toasted, and scratched the inside of my mouth, but not a huge deal-breaker. An okay sandwich, but believe it or not, Whole Foods has a much cheaper, and much better, version of this. I might come here again and try something different if I'm starving.

Everyone has already said the type of eats you can find at this fine establishment, therefore all I can say is..... How can you not like the idea of holding Thanksgiving in your hand? I'm not talking afternoon big-time turkey presentation in front of the fam. Noooo. This is end of the day Thanksgiving when everyone has finally gone home... no more Aunt Sally squeezing your cheeks everytime you walk by, no more kids running screaming through the house doing something that will obviously "put an eye out", no more flipant teenagers with furious fingers flailing about on their flip phones, no more gaggle of hens sitting at the table and squwaking about the latest gossip, nor the circle of men's men and their stuffy cigars blathering on about the economy, and no more Grandpa Burt falling asleep in front of the tv with his pants undone wafting out gnarly sleep farts. This is end of the day, dark outside, quiet time. When it's just you opening the fridge and staring back at enough left-overs to feed the small nation of Uganda. It's time to get creative and make that thing you've been thinking about all day... the left over turkey sandwich. But not just any sandwich.... no... this has to be the embodiment of Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce all layered together to form a happy little union. But what no one has seemed to mention here, nay... neglected to realize is that you are missing one key ingredient to the Turkey Terrific... the gravy. When you get your little bit of Thanksgiving you can hold in your hand at Neillio's, you NEED to get a side of gravy for dipping. It's like the secret ingredient that takes you back to that night time raid on the fridge, creating your personal ode to Thanksgiving Day. You're recreating memories here, people! So when you go to Neillio's, don't forget to ask for a side of gravy for your Turkey Terrific. It comes in a convenient mini tub, that doubles as a cup... very handy for eating and driving. Take a bite of sandwich and a swig of gravy... yeah, that's right, I drink gravy while I'm drivin', uh-huh.... it's that good. Don't be grossed out people, you know what I'm talking about. Like eating Thanksgiving dinner in the car, before you even get to grandma's.

If i worked near here, i'd be in grave danger of being overweight and broke. It's like a Boston Market, but with food that's actually good. Sometimes the office kinda sits around and debates what we're really hungry for for lunch, but the variety of delicious, quality food here would solve that problem. Cases full of assorted freshly-cooked, fragrant meat, sandwich staples, and awesome sides like macaroni and cheese and stuff. The only drawback is that it's spendy as heck. Nevertheless, next time i'm out of the office visiting this client, i'm totally stopping here again.

Took the recommendation of Christina S. and ordered the Turkey Sandwich and don't' forget the side of gravy. Absolutely AMAZING! The gray is a thick well flavored with that hint of rosemary. Definitely feels like Thanksgiving! This place is deli that not only provides sandwiches but fresh carved turkey, ribs, soups, home made sides (mashed potatoes, mac/cheese, beans, corn, sweet mash potatoes etc. and make your own salad bar. You can buy pre-made ready to cook soups, garlic bread, pot pies, etc. Also sampled the wings dinner with beans and mash potato and gray....also Amazing. The lemon bar was fabulous,. light fluffy, not your traditionally dense type of bar. $13 bones for the sandwich and chicken wing dinner (good portions). The 2 lemon bars were package for $5.50. This place is only a few blocks off the tourist path and definitely well work it! I would of took food home if it wasn't for the limitations of a hotel!

This place is an institution in Lexington. In fact, people make a pilgrimage here for the surrounding suburbs for Nellio's. It's most famous for the Turkey Terrific, also known as a gobbler at lesser establishments. The subs here ain't cheap but you get what you pay for, foo's! The Romanian Pastrami is delicious when they have it, and they make a mean Italian. They also have amazing prepared foods ranging from a turkey dinner to lasagna to quiche to mac and cheese. Everything tastes good and leaves a dent in your wallet.

my standard goodwill stop. I will explain.... I donate lots of clothes and other goods to Goodwill - which has an attended donation center in Lexington across the street from Nellio's. Whenever I make a donation on my lunch break, I stop here to grab some lunch. Today was one of those days. Lots of choices: fresh made sandwiches hot foods like chicken wings and turkey standard deli salads (potato, chicken etc) pre-made salads, and a salad bar Oh and who could forget all the tasty goodies to accompany your lunch!! I ordered the chicken, cheddar and avocado sandwich. Chicken tasted like they cooked it today, sliced it up and put it in a sandwich. It was seriously fresh. and so were the avocados and really everything is better with cheese! I got it on wheat bread - which overall was very good bread, BUT the bread was so giant the ingredients only took up half the sandwich and the rest was extra bread with nothing in between. I mean.. you know - if you are going to have a sandwich the bread to contents ratio should be evenly dispersed. Who wants empty bread? I would have been happy if they used 1 slice, cut it in half and put all the ingredients in, rather than use 2 slices and only fill it halfway. Now this isn't to say I felt gipped - I thought there was PLENTY of chicken - just too much bread. But that said, I will still be back - there's LOTS of other choices :)

I've only had one item here, which is the Turkey Terrific, but it's amazing. It's a sandwich that comes with turkey (freshly cut from a whole bird; not deli meat), cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo - but for the same price I substitute mashed potatoes and gravy for the mayo, which makes it a great deal. The staff is friendly too.

I don't think I've had a bad meal from here yet. The sandwiches are amazing (I'm trying to taste all of them) and the dinners are great as well. They do a nice catering service too. I'd definitely recommend trying a Turkey Terrific and getting some frozen lasagna to make for dinner.

I go to Neillio's for a few reasons. It's close to work, it's always delicious and very quick. They are on the pricier side, but it's Lexington and it's very yummy. They always have hot lunch specials, which I have never tried since I can't eat something that big (usually comes with a couple of sides and bread!) I'm lucky if I can finish my wraps that I usually order there. They have frozen meals and soups you can take home. They have a delicious looking salad bar, always fresh ingredients and a nice variety. They always have a few meats at the carving station and are always so tempting. Staff is friendly and they are quick! I am a big fan and always go here!

One word: UNBELIEVABLE! The food is fantastic. I especially love Thursdays for their Pastrami sandwich. But the turkey terrific is awesome as well. Never had a bad sandwich there. Great pick me up during a hard day of work.

The displays have everything you can imagine from Mac and Cheese, mashed potatoes, Greek Salads and tons of different types roasted, grilled or baked meats, make this local place great for take out or a hot spot for lunch. In some ways it is a fresh, local, much better version of Boston Market. I have never experienced their catering but they look like they could easily provided you a tasty corporate catering. My favorite is the "Turkey Terrific"! It is a huge helping of sliced fresh roasted turkey cut right in front of you with monstrous serving of stuffing and cranberry all on a choice of bread. The servings are so large I usually just get a half sandwich and am still stuffed. There are no seats in the place, but there is a small counter that you can stand at to eat. In the summer I say pick up some food and go to Lexington Green and enjoy wiping the stuffing from your face while enjoying the outdoors.

This place is great! I got a caprese sandwhich which was huge and on really good bread. I was worried when I saw the huge line winding around the salad bar but it was actually 2 lines (1 for ordering and 1 for buying). Both lines moved quickly. I've heard good things about that turkey sandwhich and their salads.

Nellio's is a take-out place that does catering as well. There are no tables. The parking lot is a bit small. The food is really good. Their turkey and 1/2 chicken dinners are fantastic. Decent portions as well. There "Turkey Terrific" sandwich blows away any other sandwich of it's kind. They carve the turkey right in front of you. I never had a bad meal there. There are prices are a tad high I guess. The portions are decent. If you are in the area and want a good take-out meal, stop by Neillio's.

Super-fantasmic italian sandwich on focaccia. The meats are high quality and I find myself craving the bread. Side it with an Orangina and it is a sandwicheriffic delight.

Came across this place on yelp while searching for a good sandwich in the Burlington area and decided to try it out. We walked in and there was about 10 people in line which typically indicates "good things"!!! The line moved very fast as there was plenty of people working behind the counter. I ordered the 'Turkey Terrific' on French bread w/o mayo and gravy on the side. The turkey was freshly cut to about to 1/2 inch slices, the stuffing was very tasty and warm and the cranberry sauce was standard caned sauce. I would diffidently recommend getting some gravy on the side (No charge?). My co-worker got an Italian sandwich on the seeded Italian bread with all the toppings. It looked so good I convinced him to trade 1/2 for a 1/2 which turned out to be fair trade. The meat quality was good and all the veggies were very fresh. My only complaint was that the bread to meat ratio was a little off. Maybe it was the bread choice but there was too much bread with every bit. Anyway, this place will 100% be added to my lunch spot rotation.

What can I say, I love this place. Everyday they have different specials on top of the regular daily items. They will fax their specials to your work everyday. I'm never disappointed. Whether its the Turkey Terrific (turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce) with a side of gravy, The Rumanian Pastrami, The BBQ Brisket or a catered Thanksgiving Dinner I'm always happy when I go here. Ok, now I'm drooling. I'm leaving right now.....I want my Turkey Terrific!!!

I will second (third, fourth, whatever) that this is a great lunch place. Here's a helpful hint: if you ask, they will make the chicken-cheddar-avocado sandwich with turkey. The chicken's good, but the turkey (which is fresh roasted) is fantastic.

  • Sam S.

Great sandwiches and salads. Frozen selections are sorta 'meh' but then, they're frozen. Stick with their freshly made stuff and you'll probably be very satisfied. If you like reubens, theirs is pretty tough to beat. Also, their italian sandwich is pretty great as well. If you're not looking for a sit-down place and want a lot of options, this is a great choice.

Right across the street from the bigger Lexington Starbucks and next to a wine and cigar store, how can you go wrong? Nellio's is a full service deli with sandwiches up the wazoo, Reubens are consistantly awe-inducing, biggest favorite is the Turkey Terriffic which is like Thanksgiving on bread...absolute lunch heaven. Just don't have any plans when the Triptophan kicks in. For the no-fun people, they have the standards and the exotic when it comes to sadwhiches and wraps. Also has great other options ranging from salads to full out no-kidding meals, love the potato pancakes and spinakopita. To top it off the freezers along the back wall are stuffed with all kinds of ready to heat goodies that foot the bill when you need to bring home dinner, but don't want another Boston Market meal. Lasagna, Ravioli, beef stew, PIE!!! mmm mmm mmm Staff is professional and good, and you know what you are getting is quality, but know that you are paying for the quality. About 5 minutes off 128 exit 31 A. Really extensive catering to boot! No seating, so grab and go across to SB, or Lexington, or back to your desk.

I love, love, love, love this place! I decided to check them out for their Thanksgiving prepared dinner because of a recommendation on Yelp talk threads. I was so happy with the service, price and, most important, the quality of the food. I got a decent size turkey with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, squash AND a pumpkin pie all for $100. It was well worth it. I only called a couple of days before the holiday and they ran out of the size turkey that I wanted. I told them that was fine and just charge me the difference. I mean it was my fault for calling so late. They upgraded me at no additional cost. I couldn't believe it. When I arrived the place was packed but they were operating like a well oiled machine. They definitely had their process perfected. They boxed it up and then had someone take it to my car for me. Where can you get service like this anymore. The food was delicious!! I was so happy with them that I went back and purchased the prepared side items for Christmas dinner.
