Hawaii Garden is really trying to make a comeback after all the bad reviews. I was told they had a change in cooks not too long ago. My husband and I go there once in awhile when in the mood for Chinese food. It is close to our house. The food has been very good and fresh the past few times we went. The wait staff is awesome! And whoever says they make a weak drink is a lush bomb! The drinks are far from weak! Grant it the place is old and a bit run down but most traditional Chinese restaurants are. We love..love ..love the bartender Roger. He always greets us with a smile and acts like we are his favorite special customers. Love his laugh! This place could use some sprucing up and repairs but if it wasn't for that I would of given them a 5!

We went here not in 2010 like the review will say but I can guarantee it is still disgusting. Worst Chinese food I've ever had.

It's 1:00 PM on a Friday and I was the only person here besides the 3 drunk ladies in the bar. They just left so it's very quiet in here. Oh wait, they just sat a loud drunk couple 2 booths down. Why couldn't they put them on the other side? The food checks out though. It was good

Just tried to go here for lunch today. No one greeted to seat us. We then sat ourselves and grabbed menus. No one ever came over. There was also a poor elderly lady that banged on the wall to try and get someone to come over...and nothing. A total of 15 minutes with no one in sight. We ended leaving. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Bartender was an ass, just wanted to order food, never again. If your not a regular don't bother. I felt like I was in the back woods of Maine. I sat in the chair of a regular who must have been outside smoking. I apologize, never again. If I was the same person I was 10 years ago I would have jumped behind the bar and grabbed the bartender by the throat. Super rude! Can't wait till this place goes out of business.

Maybe I'm not picky enough, but it's fine, your average American Chinese. The food came out super fast, I'm actually glad we ordered the appetizer before ordering our meal. The decor outdated & looks a little run down, but it's an older Chinese restaurant, what do you really expect? They have some of the best Crab Rangoon I've had in a while. There was tons of beef in Beef Hawaiian, AND they have straw mushrooms, which VERY few places offer anymore due to cost--kudos to them. Great service. Cookies tasted good, but stale. Overall, not a bad place; I see myself stopping here again in the future.

I wish they delivered.. the staff is very nice.. but litte things like stains on the ceiling, and the very large projection tv from 1985 .. lol.. could be swapped out for a plasma or anything with hd? They are not that expensive anymore.. I think small things like that would make the experience better.. I will say the food is typical.. and very inexpensive.. And.. The place is always clean.. :-)

The Hawaii Garden is awfull. I used to live in Plympton and can remember when it opened it was great, we used to go all the time. I moved back to the area aftera 10 year absence and could not believe how lousy it was. The first time back I noted how run down it looked, I was in the dining room and could hear the loud bar across the way. The food was over seasoned and cheap. I went back due to my fond memories of the past and was served Rotten Chicken In my meal. Come on guys. I was with my kids! We dropped our forks, paid and left never to go back. Too bad they were so much better.

Hawaii Garden is at best a barely average Chinese restaurant. The food is absolutely nothing memorable. However, as a night spot this joint is HILARIOUS. The have karoake one night on weekends (I cannot remember which night though if my life depended on it right now). I am the kind of person who likes to go to a bar and sit in a corner to laugh at people. Maybe that makes me not so nice, but hey, that's life. And trust me, if you went there on a Friday or Saturday night, you would laugh too. My mother lives right down the street so if I my sister and I go down there to visit for a night, more likely than not we'll end up there for a scorpion bowl or two, crab rangoon, and some laughs. One night we were there and two guys came in and asked for one beer and two glasses. HILARIOUS, I tell you. It's the country's big night out.

It's clean inside, not too run down...however, that's about all that's good about the place. Terrible food, Probably haven't change the fryolator oil since St. Swithin's Day and the alcohol drinks are weak...No wonder the bar fly winos just drink beer! Can't water that down (unless it's cheapo lite beer) How does this $$h1t hole stay open?

The food here isn't that great. It's edible, but I wouldn't recommend going if you're really hungry. At least the drinks make up for what the food lacks. Try the headhunter, which is a coconut rum-based drink or the Scorpion Bowl. They used to have a musician on some Friday nights. I haven't been there in a while, so I don't know if they still do. The one that I would see was a local guy and he was OK. I wouldn't say he would ever be famous or release a solo album, but he was a fairly good piano player and he had a decent singing voice.

Food isn't the worst but not the best...I'd say it's right for the price and the area. Only done takeout here...I'd have to be drinking to think about eating there...

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
