I am somewhat surprised by some of the negative reviews. It is a great Irish bar, but I go there for the food. Their Cobb salad is excellent. They market themselves as an Irish pub with some good folk singers. That tends to hide the fact that they are a really good restaurant. I have gone there a number of times and have never had a bad meal. The service can be somewhat slow at times, but that is just because they are crowded. I am not into the bar scene, and tend to go there early for dinner. It is an interesting combination of a great bar and a very good chef.

This has become a traditional stop when my girlfriend and I cone to Falmouth. She has been coming here to Falmouth since she was a child. I ordered a Guinness and she a cape codder and of course a lobster roll. Great dish and a fine beer but 35$ for a lobster roll seems a little much! 2 drinks and a roll with tip almost 60$ ouch! For the price it should have included a table dance by Tom Brady!

I didn't come to Falmouth for the nightlife scene but it was cool to have a local place to hang out one night. They had live music and the place was more packed than I anticipated (which is not all that packed but not one-local-passed-out-in-a-corner dead). Friendly vibe overall. I appreciated their beer selection. Have not tried the food so can't comment.

Fun atmosphere down town live music and trivia host Big portions Service speed after seating slow and follow up was a little lacking But cook time appropriate

Really fun atmosphere. The hostess was friendly and the service was excellent. A little pricey for a pub, but the huge portions back it up. Great acoustic live music.

I recommended this place to everyone before I came in here last week! It was race weekend so I'm hoping that explains it, but they were completely out of all Cape Cod beer and another choice my friends ordered, and the turkey burger I ordered was so over-the-top spicy I couldn't finish it. Blergh.

Amazing service and live music. We had the best waitress. The love music created a great atmosphere. A must go!

  • Drew S.

Fun place but no authentic Irish music. The performer played a lot of 90'S music which was good but I didn't go to an Irish bar for 90's music. If you are looking for a good place with good music, go elsewhere.

Only recommended for the Lobster roll. I have been here about 3 times and I would only recommend it for the lobster roll which is about $26 (but you can get same quality/amount for lower price elsewhere in town). Anything else is just not worth talking about. The atmosphere is great, they have live music sometimes and staff is great. However, the food isn't anything special - chicken tenders were bland, calamari was not good, pasta for kids was eehhh.

This really could have been a good experience, but I am all about customer service. The bartenders are really rude and only attended to the frequent customers. I stood there forever trying to get a drink and when I ask to have the drink revised because there was too much alcohol, he gave me an attitude and asked why I ordered the drink in the first place. Let's just say I will not be back.

Fantastic place to spend time in Falmouth; vacationing or otherwise. Owners treat their friends like family and their guests as regulars. Complete with a wide variety of burgers, apps, salads, pizzas and house favorites, there's something for everyone. And of course don't miss the live music nights- where Rory contributes his own vocals to the live band mix.

This review is based solely on the bar side as I have not tried the dining side yet. I came to this pub after having a few drinks at another local establishment. The bartenders are friendly but they don't interact with their customers all that much other than getting you a drink or a refill. The drinks are reasonably price and they have a few TVs, but I don't think I would go there to watch sports. They seem to have a great selection of beers. The food looked good, from those around me who were eating, but I will update my review once I have tried it. I don't see this as a hangout for me but if you like irish beers than you need to try this place out.

Went to visit this place twice on vacation. First time for dinner. Good irish beer, music , chips and dinner was good. Second time for lunch was mostly frozen seafood( clams, quahog) heated up and slow service. Some my first time would definitely be a 4 star , with the second one 1 and 1/2.

OK service, great nachos! This is exactly what I expected of a pub. They have a great craft beer selection.

My wife and I went here tonight. The service and the meal were top-notch. We had Prime Rib and the Irish Stew. We are visiting from Maine and just happened upon this pub. We'll let everyone coming here know to stop for a meal and a pint. The music was great too.

Realy, how quickly I forget. We used to come here once a week, but our recent experiences have been less than good. Tonight I had fish and chips and my husband had salmon special. There is not a place in town that doesn't serve better fish and chips. It says cod, but I think it was tilapia. It was mush in a tasteless batter. My husband liked the salmon. It was too sweet for me. Both meals were served cold. We sent them back and they were hot when they returned. I can't think of any reason to eat here.

Liam Maguire's is a local bar & restaurant located in Falmouth center on main street. Been going there for the last 9 years on and off while in the Cape. Being Irish it certainly draws out to me. They have decent live music here and there and Liam himself sings a lot of nights to entertain the crowd. It's an OK bar with OK Irish pub food. It overprices itself when it shouldn't. The food won't blow you away and make you want to come back. Tried their new brunch this past Sunday. Was expecting and hoping for more. The Irish breakfast wasn't a full Irish breakfast, no beans or brown bread which is a staple of Irish breakfasts. What they served was still good, the sausages were these huge thick pieces and the bacon and pudding was good too. Hard to beat Keltic Kitchen down in Yarmouth. The service wasn't very good either. *The bartender, who has been there for a while, just wasn't into it and overly social. It's a warm sunny Sunday on father's day in the Cape, be social and smile. She engaged with customers she sort of knew and could care less about others at the bar she didn't. But hey, it is what it is. Can't all have great bartenders like at BBC or Raw Bar The sandwiches and burgers are good, but paying roughly $15 or more you would expect more. The pasta dishes are good. I enjoy them. The entrees are a bit pricey and if you're not satisfied after you will be upset you paid $25 for it. The tips can be a bit rough at times depending on the cut. I usually stick to the drinks and appetizers. Greeaat pub skins and wings. The quesadilla is also a favorite. Can't go wrong with those. Great spot for a drink and an app before dinner. They have a great beer selection. From the Irish favorites to English to many other craft and local brews, they have a great selection. It's worth checking out, but for seafood and dinner there are better options in the area, like the Quarterdeck.

Liam's is open for business newly renovated. It looks great and we had a wonderful meal this evening. My husband leapt at the prime rib and was thrilled to get it cooked to his specifications -"as rare as you can make it." He is often disappointed by restaurant meats but he loved this dinner. I had the fish tacos which were light and delicious.

The service was great, Very attentive. The food is good. My husband had the fish and chips and I had the salmon sandwich. I wouldn't say it is out of the world good but a fun place to go with good food and good beers on tap. Recommended!

I have 2 experiences at liams and 1 was at a table for dinner and the server who was a younger kid and could've quite possibly have been the best service we've ever had anywhere and would recommend this kid go work at a much more high scale place and make real money cuz he's really good, very friendly and it never seemed like a job to him, he always seemed to enjoy what he was doing for work. A++ on that night. The 2nd night ( which was 2 nights later ) on the other hand I wish was the same, we sat at the bar and the bartender was a lady probably in her mid to late 30s and she should be fired instantly.. She was rude to everyone at the bar and even lost customers because they thought she was rude also. She disappeared from the bar for about 20 minutes and gave a guy an attitude when he asked if the bar was closed. She never asked us if we needed another drink or anything and we always had to yell to her for more drinks. If anyone from management ever reads these then you need to instantly fire the girl who works trivia on Wednesday cuz she is losing you business and give the kid a raise who is one of your waiters cuz he is one of the best around. He's a you get kid and looks the Irish part and even wears the hat. Fire the lady behind the bar and put him there !!!

Liam's. No, nay, never, will I go to the Cape and not go to Liams. There is always great entertainment, be it the more traditional Irish songs from Liam Maguire himself, or the fun, loud, set by Danny Quinn that includes sing alongs from Ireland and from the States. On weekends, Danny never fails to get the guests up and dancing, singing along, and doing the red rover. The lobster roll truly is worth the $25. It's HUGE, with at least two lobsters heaping over the sides of the roll. If you're nice, you can ask for vegetables or salad on the side instead of fries (though, I must admit I have had more luck with this in the off season). Steak tips are good too, and I tend to get the Caesar salad with them when I am trying to eat a bit lighter. Plenty of traditional bar food on the menu too, from burgers, to pizza, and even some curry and shepard's pie. Lots of beers, and of course Guinness, wine, and mixed drinks. The bar does get crowded on weekends, but sidle up with the Falmouth locals, enjoy the music, the food, and sing along.

With an hour wait at Anejo we headed over to Liam's for a drink to kill some time. It was crowded but we were lucky to find 2 stools at the bar and ordered a beer for him and a capecodarita for me. Drinks were yummy and service was great! They had live music and the bartender (who turned out to be the son of the owner) sang along at one point and the whole restaurant got into it. We saw a bunch of food come out that looked delicious and thought about staying for dinner and we should have (see my review of Anejo). Specifically the steak and the chowder. I guess we'll have to make a return visit!

Come here for the mudslides!! The food is pretty good, but you'll come back for the drinks. I know I did! I had the corned beef sandwich for lunch, which I enjoyed. Our waitress was great, excellent service. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

[Visit today] This turned out to be the perfect spot on Falmouth's Main Street to escape the wife's shopping marathon and watch the Euro soccer matches; both playing at the same time. The bartender was very attentive; he even steered me away from the 9% Kentucky Bourbon Ale (I'm the designated driver...). I tried the Green Monsta IPA instead. A number of regional microbrews were offered on tap. A myriad of special cocktails are listed all around as well as a good scotch selection (Johnnie Walker Blue, Balvenie, etc.). There's a line from William Butler Yeat's "He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven" on the wall above the front window: "I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams". Love Yeats. This is the kind of place you'd half expect James Joyce to pull up a stool next to you and open his iPad; rough around the edges yet mindful of poetry and tradition. If you're looking for time to kill in Falmouth, you can't do any better than here.

Best fish and chips! Clam chowda was yummy, too. Great choices of local craft beers. Cool atmosphere with friendly waitstaff. I went for dinner while out traveling for business and enjoyed this place! I would definitely come back.

Went there with 9 people on Saturday June 21st. Excellent service, great burgers, horrible steak tips. Stick with the burgers. The meals were a lot of money for a very small, skimpy portion! Lots of other options around the area for dining! This is more of a burger and beer place only!

  • Susan O.

Live music, but not really worth it. The food is not that great. The menu is quite limited, so we both ordered burgers, to be on the safe side. I've had better, and the fries were greasy. They sat us next to the live music which was nice, but it was unfortunately too close. The place could use a face lift, everything in there is old. Positive notes: the staff were all nice. And the location of downtown Falmouth gave us a great walk to lighten up our heavy stomach from the greasy food. We wouldn't go back. :(

  • Joe T.

Went during the day so couldn't comment on the evening bar and live music scene. Not overwhelmed with joy after being here. Bottom line: it's an irish pub that is overpriced. Both the food and the drinks. Walked out owing $70 after having lunch for two. Salad with shrimp and a scallop roll. A couple cocktails. Food was pretty good and portions weren't tiny but just no value. No way I will return. I can get fancier dining and higher quality food for that price elsewhere.

Cape Cod is hit or miss for me when it comes to dining out. I really liked the atmosphere of this place. It has a real nice PUB feel to it, but that's about all I really liked about it. The bartender was kind of non-existent and it took forever for my sandwich and salad to come out. I was seated in the bar area and placed my order when about 15 minutes a later a local couple came in; they ordered their lunch and theirs came out with mine in about 5 minutes. The prices for lunch are a bit high for my taste, given what kind of venue this is. My chicken sandwich and salad was pretty good but nothing really to write home about, just average. Average food coupled with poor bar service and food delivery time management...... well It does not make me want to go back. There are so many other places in Falmouth that are much better,

During the power outage caused by Hurricane Sandy, I called half a dozen restaurants on Main Street in Falmouth and the only one open was Liam Maguire's Irish Pub. The waitress said that the pub is on the same electrical grid as the hospital, so they often have power when most of the area is knocked out. Place was busy last night, but we got a table right away. Split potato skins and Penne in vodka sauce, all good and large portions. I also had a cup of clam chowder which was very good. All washed down with pints of Guinness Stout. A-OK place to grab dinner in a blackout.

  • Bill F.

I went to this pub for the first time on vacation. The service wasn't great. Their so called brown bread looked like stale wheat. Their lobster roll was just boring and failed to meet a $30 expectation. Also I spilled some water on the floor and to my horror wiped it up revealing a layer of dirt on the floor. And later in the evening, the owner went up on stage singing kids songs like Puff the Magic Dragon and something from Shrek. It's a bar so I don't understand the children's music. That being said, the Irish deep dish pizza was great. I got mine with BBQ chicken and would recommend that. The bread pudding was a great dessert. Overall, the food was great but a little pricey and they need to work out some issues.

We've had a few hits and misses here so I've always been reluctant to post a review but tonight I tried the Lemon Meringue Martini so I'm sold. We also had our wedding rehearsal dinner here 2 years ago and the staff treated us (and our surly family) excellent. We are locals however, so we stay away during summer and tend to frequent Liam's off season to avoid the crowds. Try the Lemon Meringue Martini, you won't be disappointed!

Liam's is Falmouth staple. It has a great bar, live music and average food. The bar is a great place to hang and they have a ton of beer on tap and in bottles. As for food, stick with bar type food. We are talking burgers, nachos, sandwiches- don't go for anything too crazy as food is not their strong point. Keep with the simple food that they can't screw up or that isn't freshly fried frozen. Again, love the bar scene and the music.

    (4)
  • Maureen K.

We live in Pennsylvania and visit the cape a few times a year. Whenever we are in town we have lunch at Liam's. LOVE the lobster roll! I am giving Liam's 4 stars instead of 5 because sometimes the service is inconsistent.

Very friendly bar with good locals and good bartenders. Despite the Cape Cod area, doesn't have much seafood despite Irish fish and chips. Good place to come to.

This place rehabilitates the bad name "fried" foods have gotten! The lunchtime seafood basket or shrimp sandwich was oh so very delicious, seasoned, non greasy and the price was right. Stop by here before you catch the Ferry to OB. You'll be glad you did.

I stopped in for an early dinner. The food was just so-so, and the bartender wasn't very friendly. Over all, there are better places for this type of food in Falmouth for less money.

Lobstah roll mostly tasteless claw meat! The biggest on the Cape but also the worst! And most Expensive! $28 Bartender and staff not friendly at all. I jokingly asked " which one of you is the witch?" ( Sign on the wall says witch is here) One of the young hags piped up, "I Am " and scowled at me ! I said , "apparently so!" We are visiting from Vegas where poor service and bad attitudes are not tolerated since the tourism derives a large percentage of revenue for the businesses! Nice beer selection No door in toilet or lock is a joke! Stay away!

The food was decent, location excellent for being near all the activities. I got the Chicken curry, wasn't great, but I think that was personal taste. My husband ordered the chicken waffles which were great, but he was a little surprised to discover there were jalapeños in the waffles! He still ate them though. The Irish egg roll appetizers were delicious.

Tuesday night about 8pm. Restaurant crowded as bandmembers arrive and warm up. Found a scarce seat at the bar. Dublin burger was good. Very fresh bun, lettuce, onion and tomato. Dublin features stout cheddar and "Irish bacon". Cheese was good but didn't see much unique to bacon. Crowd seemed to taper off or at least stabilize at 9. Didn't knock my socks off but wide selection of food for "pub" and my meal was worthy of note.

Liam's is good for dependable, solid food, and lots of beer choices. It's been there forever! The service is pretty slow, but when the food eventually arrives it is pretty good. I've had the fish and chips, the boom boom burger, and the Irish salad. The clam chowder is excellent, though, and there is almost always live music in the evenings. It's a fine choice for a casual evening in Falmouth.

  • H L.

The lunch we had was mere 3 star, not bad, not good either. just an average. But the chowder along with a stuffed clam was horrible. stuffing all dried out and as hard as a rock, perhaps, they were made days ago. And the plain chowder was weird and only 4-5 spoonful rather in a small cup, and I personally think canned chowder tastes better than that. Then, Betty Sue, the waitress. I dressed like a casual khaki with proper plaid shirt for our business visit in town, she called me, "you cute asian thing..." several times, I didn't respond to that and sent the signal clearly that I was offended, but she carried on treating me like FOB, or as if I was a toy pet. Then looked away to talk to my partner quite a while. She totally interrupted our lunch time. The town was covered with the foreign or reginal american tourists already getting close to the summer. But she said she "hated" tourists coming in. My experience was hence dropped to 1 out of 5. Crude Racisist server killed our mood. Avoid her at any cost.

Here's the thing - the food is pretty good. The wait staff has always been pleasant. And I will never go there again. Ever. We're year-round residents. One night my husband is hungry for some fish and chips. I don't want to leave the house so I call to see if we can have a pick up order. Look, when a customer *asks* if they can place an order to-go, you can say, No, sorry. Really. I can accept that you don't want to do that. What I cannot accept is half cooked fish. Chips that were so nasty we had to throw them out. Attitude when we come for the order - as if we've pissed in your beer. My husband gave a $4 tip for a to-go order and I got nasty crap.

Stopped in with some friends after playing some fall golf. The waitress Cindy Cigarette and a couple of the inmates at the bar felt it was their place to comment on our golf attire. I mean, they couldn't let it go. I understand that we must have been the mosts colorful humans to ever visit this trap. My college cafeteria had better food. Draft beer was flat. I don't mind dive bars but this place left a stain on my mind. There are better options in Falmouth.

Hmmm. What a weird place to write a review about. My fiance and I have been here a few times and we like it well enough, but it always feels like we settle on it, because there's no better option. The atmosphere is nice and not crowded, though there's a pretty decent crowd whenever we go. It is loud and they, but I guess that's to be expected from a bar. The customers are mostly there for the food but they do have a small bar section. And there is always "Liam, Himself" (that's what it says on the calendar) playing onstage. If your a fan of sleepy live music while you eat then you'll enjoy Liam's playing. However, we always seem to get seated by the stage and it becomes too loud to talk. He's a decent musician and plays (mostly) Irish tunes. So that's....cute. The food is ok. You'll get a very generous portion of their fish and chips and the coleslaw is good too. I recently got to try the lobster roll which was loaded like they promised and had lettuce and tomato, which is different from most lobster rolls I've had, but it was tasty. My fiance is vegetarian and they have a couple options (which is better than many places in Falmouth), but she's not a huge fan of the veggie burger and the pizza toppings were only so-so. Also, in regards to the pizza, the deep dish is made with Guinness in the dough, which isn't a huge taste difference, but you could taste "something different" as she put it. There is a room with a couple dart boards and we always want to play, but they've set up tables (which often have customers seated at them) underneath. So that's a no go. The staff is friendly and attentive, though when they're not at the table they look bored and even at times grumpy by the drink stand. But hey, that could be understandable. We like the place and it's certainly on the list, but I wish Liam would bring some other acts in for the entertainment and a few more veg-fiendly options would be nice too. I imagine you'll like it, if your looking for a simple pub/grill.

Found this place after Artie's Cafe didn't meet with Mother-in-laws approval. Warm pub atmosphere, typical Irish pub regalia, and live music which starts at 3pm. It's larger so it doesn't quite have that true pub feel, but comes close. The food itself was very good and enjoyed by all members of our party. We had fish and chips, bangers and mash, and salmon sandwich. Portions were large and priced well (except for the lobster roll - that was a staggering $25.95 : word to the owner - that's whole lobster entree price - not roll pricing). They had a very good selection of beers on tap and by the bottle. I LOVE that they have Allagash white on tap! Our service was sweet but the meals did seem to take a long time to produce - the only reason I didn't give a higher mark. Good establishment - give it a try.

Get the lobster roll and share with a friend. $26 is worth every bite! Good Irish music on weekends. We were there on Memorial Day and there was a nice mix of ages - not all 20-somethings out to get hammered.

Went there last night for the first time. Mostly a restaurant with a nice bar and nice atmosphere. We ordered the Irish egg rolls (corned beef with swiss and sourkraut) that came out hot and delicious. Before we were finished with those my salad came out. Before I finished my salad my guiness stew($15) came out. I felt like they were trying to rush us out or else didn't have the timing right. My stew was delicious but there were only 2 pieces of stew beef in it along with lots of carrots ,peas and potatoes. I mentioned to my waitress that my stew only had the 2 pieces and then some shredded beef and she sais that's how it is supposed to be , otherwise it would be like "steaktips" in the stew. I ate most of it and the "Irish soda bread" (more like a piece of dense wheat bread) with it. My husband's prime rib came out exactly how he wanted it cooked, rare, but with a LOT of fat on it ($20).He eats PR all the time and was a bit disappointed. I mentioned to our waitress at the end that the stew was tasty but very disappointing. She came back with 2 small containters of new stew with "lots of chunks". She must have gone back and talked to the chef or something. Anyway, I may go back and sit at bar and get that delicious egg roll again, but not sure if I would order entrees there again.

This place is really cute, filled with locals socializing and listening to live Irish music. It has its charm and actually makes decent cocktails! I myself enjoyed both my (strong) Bloody Mary and the Cape Cod beer. Once our table was ready, we hungrily scanned the menu for the famous lobster roll. We decided to order one plate of the nachoes, one crab and cheese dip, and the lobster roll to share. Do not order the nachos or the crab dip. They are completely not worth it, are bland and come with way too many chips. The lobster roll on the other hand does not disappoint and was really satisfying. I am hungry as I write this (great surprise there), and if I had one right now I would not share. I'm just saying.

This is a good place for a bar, but as for a restaurant, it was not a very good place. Their food is very Americanized and the menu is also very limited. I have been there for a burger once and it was not too bad, but not the best of all burgers. Then, I decided to try the linguisa pizza and it was not the best.

My fiancee and I went to Liam Maguire's last night. The Shananagan's were listed as the music for the night starting at 8:30 and we wanted to hear some Irish music. Made a 7:30pm reservation and got a great table near the front window. Words of warning: the noise level makes it next to impossible to hear the person sitting next to you. The owner sang and played guitar from 7:30-8:00pm but we couldn't hear any of his lyrics because of the terrible acoustics. Band didn't come on until 9:00. Band = two men on guitar, banjo and mandolin. They had talent but the songs they chose were terrible: a few country songs (in an Irish bar?), John Denver and the Beatles. In another venue, I'd be okay with those choices but I was hoping for some Irish ballads. Food was average but VERY over-priced. Service was mediocre. The staff (mostly teenagers) needs a course in customer service - preferably by an off-Cape firm!

I was here recently with my GF, it was kind of the tale of two Pub's (sounds like a book).. Hmm, maybe a new career avenue? Ugh, sorry, off topic.. We arrived late afternoon on a Saturday, it was busy, but two stools were open at the bar and we cozied up.. Our bartender, Kelley, was super fast, super nice and that got us off to a great start. She was very efficient, friendly, we got menus quickly, which was a real plus because I almost ate my girlfriend's arm off on the way down.. I quickly put in an order of the clam chowder and I can say it was probably the BEST clam chowder I have EVER had.. Loaded with clams, creamy, seasoning was spot on, I could have taken a shower in this stuff... For my entree I ordered the scallop roll with onion rings.. AMAZING! Scallops were fresh, tender, juicy, perfect! The Onion rings were that perfect color and crispiness. (I am seriously contemplating driving down there in about an hour).. And, again, Kelley was fantastic, beers kept full, friendly, rock star for sure... Now..... The reason this place does not get five stars.. The bartenders changed shifts.. And, I believe the second bartender is one of the family members of the owners (pictures are on the menu).. Couple of things really made me cold about this place when he took over, and one frankly creeped me out.. (1) he cleaned the beer taps with a rag he had in his back pocket, the rag was bumping up against the bar and other dirty areas, not to mention it was very close to his ass.. He also wiped the bar down once with that rag.. What do you think is going on in those taps now? (2) a major no-no in the bar business.. Just paying attention to your locals and not the rest of your customers, instant turn off, instant way to lose any new customer base. perhaps he doesn't care of they get any new business, hey, if business is that good and you do not care, more power to you. However, based on the time of year we were there, I have a feeling growing a customer base in the late winter early spring months would be smart business. He had friends at the bar and paid no attention to us what so ever. My beer remained empty, even after he glanced at it several times, for almost 20 minutes. My GF'S wine glass remained empty as well. I had water, no refill, yet his friends beers and shots kept flowing as soon as their empty hit the bar. So, I get it, you are trying to show off for your friends a bit, be cool, make sure they think you are cool.. But last I checked you are a running a business and it should probably be run as so.. If he is bartending, I will go next door for drinks and food.. If Kelley is bartending I would stay for hours.. Should tell you something... Below based on five stars Bartender #1 (Kelley) Bartender #2 SERVICE ***** SERVICE 0 (we didn't get any) FOOD ***** ATMOSPHERE *** DECOR *** 1/2 LOCATION *** 1/2 RESTROOM ** 1/2 (was kind of nasty) OVERALL *** 1/2

Stopped in there the day of the Street Fair. We sat at the bar and ordered something to eat and a couple of drinks. My wife ordered a frozen drink. The bartender made the drink and poured it in a glass and then poured what did not fit in the glass into another glass. Then we watched as he and his buddy drank it! I didn't know that I was buying them a drink. I paid for that entire drink. Very unprofessional . Hope you read this Liam.

I WANT to love Liams, but its been hit or miss the 15 or so times I've been in. Burgers are GREAT and always a hit, as are their fries, onion rings, chowder, desserts. Pistachio Basil Salmon is also amazing. Pizzas are ok but nothing special, and the drinks are pretty overpriced. The biggest disappointment is the fish & chips- the batter looks amazing, but the fish inside is mushy and tasteless. Based on the burgers alone, I'd give them 5 stars, but when the staff is a miss its a BIG miss. I have my favorite waiters, but there are a few who are incredibly rude all the time. Recently had an issue with the bill where the waitress tried to add an additional 20% to the tip, bringing it up to over 40% total. When we very politely pointed out that we had already included a 20+% tip, she got an attitude and walked away. I will continue coming to Liams for the burgers and nightlife, but will probably not be bringing guests from out of town for dinner again.

Been going to Liam's for well over 15 years on our summer vacations to beautiful Falmouth. Today my wife and I stopped in for lunch. I ordered a draft Sam Adams Summer Ale along with our sandwiches while my wife ordered the Strongbow cider they had on tap. My beer was definitely "bad" and I had it replaced with a Harpoon IPA which still tasted a little "off" but drinkable. Withing twenty minutes of finishing our lunches both my wife and I experienced terrible cramps and diarrhea almost simultaneously. Years of experience makes me believe that it was from soap residue in our glasses. Feeling that this was not right (paying to be made ill), I actually got in my car and returned to Liam's to explain what had happened (realizing that mistakes can occur with any business) and ask them to properly address my billing to address this situation. I was first directed to a young woman bartender/manager who wanted absolutely nothing to do with the matter who then turned the matter over to a young man named Rory who expressed no concern and offered me no accommodation relating to my bad experience. Advice to Liam - don't let kids run your place. 15 years of goodwill, positive recommendations and future patronage now lost because of the complete lack of common courtesy and professionalism I experienced today by your staff.

Liam's is on the up-swing these day. They have some awesome rotating draught beers, such as Green Flash Palate Wrecker IPA, Lagunitas, and several other excellent micro's. A couple of new bartender's are great, too. Much friendlier than it used to be and it's quickly becoming my regular drinking hole. If they get a foosball table it'll become the best bar in Falmouth, hands down. Imagine Liam himself jamming out on stage while you kick someone's arse in foosball... incroyable

Food so -so. Husband enjoyed beef stew but chicken wings just tasted off. I left wings on my plate and that's just not me. Would have ordered a hot drink for dessert but we sat there so long after we finished our meal that when the server finally came by we just wanted to leave. Also, what happened to the days when the hostess did more than stand at the front door? I can see if they are busy but this young girl just stood there messing with her finger nails, singing to herself. She would look at us from time to time but made no move to notify the server that we appeared to need assistance. We could have asked but kinda wanted to see what would happen.

I like this place. Really I do. that being said..It has a great bar and I love the Irish music. Downside is the food. To be honest it tastes like reheated fast food or frozen food.Waitresses aren't too friendly. The bartender is nice and attentive though. I recommend eating at the Quarterdeck then going to Liam's for a drink and some music.

This place was surprisingly good. It was 4p and we were starving. Places were closing and we settled on Liam Magurie's. While my friends got Mac and Cheese and Cape Cod fish sandwich, I got Fish and Chip entree. All of us truly enjoyed our dishes. Mac and Cheese had tomotoes in it. It was quite delicious. Fish and Chip was very good. The batter was very light. I ordered pumpkin beer. It was a nice one. What made it different was the sugar and cinnamon around the rim. It tasted like I was eating pumpkin pie. We were happy campers.

I was diggin the vibe at Liam's. Went on a Saturday night, place was packed at 10:30pm. Was with a group of 8 rowdy Irish folks and the scene definitely fit in with the mood. There was a guy on a stage playing all kinds of fun bar songs and everyone was into the music, some getting up and doing the jig right in the middle of the restaurant portion of the bar. For Falmouth, it was pretty lively. I liked it and if back in the area, would check it out again. Oh, and the chicken quesadilla, loaded nachos, and buffalo chicken fingers were solid.

Usual Liam's is "the place" to get lobster rolls and generally the food is good. This time around the food was horrible. The lobster roll tasted like it came from the can. The steak was over salted. On top of all the hostess was unnecessary rude.

If you're looking for a casual good time, try Liam's. This is a no nonsense local pub with good grub, good service, and great entertainment! Personally, I stop in for the stuffie and chowder with a pint. Then I sit back, take in the game on the TV while listening to local chatter, and wait for the band to start. I've been there for lunch with friends and had great service to go along with really good food at a reasonable price. Salads are more than enough to fill you. Sandwiches are tasty and desserts are worth stopping in for. Keep up the great work, Liam! You're a regular stop that consistently warms the soul.

went on a cold Feb. night. I had a delish turkey burger and great fries..my date had the salmon teryaki special. Both were good..a great waitress...bright lights though..we asked a few times to dim them and she kept saying she would but it never happened...Liam came on stage with another fellow..great music, great vibe..cold Guinness..LOVED IT

If you are looking for an awesome, rowdy time with good drinks, company, and food, I would recommend Liam Maguire's. Prices are reasonable, portions are insanely huge, and the drinks are great. At night, Liam Maguire and friends play Irish music for hours - some covers like Brown Eyed Girl, Sweet Caroline, Fulsom Prison Blues, etc, and some traditional Irish songs. The crowd usually gets into it and sings along, crowd participation is encouraged, and you can make requests. This is definitely what made our nights out here for me! We had onion rings and nachos to accompany our drinks - wow the portions were twice the size I would have imagined. They were excellent! The bar attracts a mixed crowd, from college-age students to older folks, all looking for a good time. I had the Frozen Irish Dream drink - very chocolatey and sweet, I'd definitely recommend it, it tasted like a milkshake with a kick to it. Guinness is on tap and they know how to pour it right here! This place is clearly a local favorite and it's easy to see why.

Went here for corned beef and cabbage and it was awful. This is an Irish bar! It's the one thing they should know how to make well. Food overall was unimpressive

The people reviewing here who had less than a good time at this place were either having a bad day or have a broomstick stuck in a painful place. Goodness, Liam Maguire's is a find! We were a large group in town for a wedding, and had to find a place to satisfy multiple needs - one wanted a hamburgur, another a salad, and another insisted upon a lobster roll. We wandered Main St. and came across this marvelous pub. Had all the food, and great food it was. The lobster roll must have had a couple of pounds of chunky lobster on it, and if they have it, don't miss the chowder pot special. An amazing bowl of creamy chowder with a pile of shell fish. It's a heavenly chowder stew. But more than the food was the music and atmosphere. Liam's 3 piece band of friends sang and played and sang and told jokes. We clapped to Irish tunes and sang along to familiar requests, especially the Johnny Cash songs (they do a GREAT Fulsom Prison...). We ended up staying 4 hours! And then came back again the next night and did it all over again! That said, I spotted the very odd party that sat stoically eating their cheeseburgurs, not cracking a smile, like they missed their elevator music. Most slipped out as soon as possible. They were either miserable or dull (the latter probably). Baffled me. Like they missed their iTunes and sitcoms. Some of them are posting reviews here I think. Anyone who can't have a good time at Liam's, well, I hope I never have to sit at your table. 5 stars, with a bullet!

If you haven't been to Liam's in Falmouth, you don't know what your missing!! Great food, service, drinks & atmosphere! The lobster roll is well worth the $25.. it was lightly tossed with a bit of mayo so it was just perfect. Nachos are excellent as is their quesidilla. I recently had a chicken sandwich that wasn't so good, but all in all the foods been great. Heather the bartender is the BEST!!! This place ROCKS on the weekend, all ages, just getting together and having a good time. Lots of sing alongs and sometimes some surprise visitors take the stage, it's nice to see a place open their arms to someone visiting from Ireland. Danny Quinn plays here and if you haven't heard him, you'd better get here soon!! Keep up the great work!!!

After some football, friends and a bit 'o imbibing at another favorite haunt on the cape, we were ready for a good meal and my husband is always a fan of the beef stew here at Liam's so we stopped in for a bite. Got some sweet seats at the bar and got ourselves a drink. Although the barman seemed to be a bit green, he served us fine despite a bit of a wait. The menu is pretty extensive and I was being quite indecisive (big surprise) between some clam chowder and awesome apps or an actual entree. Well, the entree won out and I selected the braised beef short ribs. Well, little did I expect.....within a short time, out comes a FRED FLINTSTONE-SIZED portion of two ribs smothered in a delicious gravy served over yummy mashed potatoes and roasted veggies that I enjoyed far more than I expected (roasted onions, yes, carrots, yes....but celery...um yes, too!). My husband ordered the steak tips, his portion was by all means, adequate, but compared to mine, really looked, well, wimpy. He said they were tasty, but he did have plate envy. Suffice it to say that he ended up eating more from my dinner. The leftovers came home, fo sho! Aside from the fantastic food, there was "live" entertainment, unfortunately, it was a duo of two young women, not so much lively, as melancholy...even downright depressing. Not what I'd seek out, or even enjoy in an Irish pub. We'd have stayed longer if they hadn't been playing. Maybe they knew someone in the management. Overally, I'd recommend it for the food, and I've also heard some very enjoyable entertainment at Liam's on other occasions. So give it a try if you're ever in Falmouth, MA.

This place has all the locals drop outs working here. The food used to be great and the service was wonderful. Liam was on the floor and the staff was on their toes. Today the place is very dirty and smells of stale beer. The staff is made up of Liam kids and their friends. The kids do not care and the staff are really very uneducated bunch. My fish and chips were cold , the gf salad must have came out of a bag. They destroyed my c-card as they ran upside down. Bunch of nickel heads !!!!!!!!!!!!

Went there on the Saturday after the 4th of July. The wait was long (1 and a half hours) which is understandable given the proximity to the holiday. The problem was that the Hostess/Manager was completely over matched and had no idea estimate the wait time and if I hadn't asked a number of times we would have waited much longer. The appetizers were very good, I would highly recommend the beef stew. Using corned beef is an interesting twist. The meals were a different story. Two people ordered dinner salads, one a Caesar with salmon and the other a garden with chicken and no cheese. These were reversed and the waiter actually suggested that he could just switch them at the table and stated to reach to complete this with his hands... The atmosphere is great and the guy playing music that night was very good, getting the crowd into it right away. The beer selection is what you would expect from a good Irish Pub. Hopefully it was just the busy night that dragged things down...

My family and I have been coming to Liam Maguire's for the past couple years during our annual Falmouth vacation. We have loved it so much that this year we decided to participate in their trivia night- even though we already went there two other nights for dinner and drinks. Our waitress was absolutely horrible- she was so nasty, slamming beers down on the table, rolling her eyes, and discussing our party with the other patrons in the restaurant, very unprofessional and disheartening. Maybe it was just the day- but it was terrible. Liam Maguire's is officially off our list, which is a shame because it had become a family ritual of ours. It's amazing what one bad experience can do to change your perspective on a great place- customer service is everything.

Homey, welcoming place with a good bar and overall ambience. Liam is from Ireland and the food is fair value and prepared decently. the bar has now added a lot of craft beer taps and an extensive bottle list. the beer has kicked this place up a notch, in my opinion and I'll be back, although I've been here many times.

Liam's was fun! We didn't eat there so I can only really comment on the bar service but they had a ton of alcoholic options including a drink called Liam's Twisted Tea (or something like that) which is a mixuture of Jeremiah Weed's Sweet Tea Vodka and homemade lemonade. All I can say is they go down WAY too easy on a hot summer day! Liam himself was singing up some Irish songs and the crowd was loving it. Overall a really fun time.

Nice Irish pub. I had wings and potato skins (wings were ok - not spicy enough for me but thankfully the skins were very tasty) My sister has the lobster roll which was huge, tasty and loaded with real lobster chunks. She could only eat half. The kids had chicken fingers which they both liked. Good place to take kids as the kids meals are cheap and include a drink and dessert for under $6. No band playing while we were there (mid-day) but I suspect its gets quite lively when they do have one onstage. Would go back and try again.

2nd Time to Liam Maguires and enjoyed it immensely. was a bit of a wait on a Summer Tuesday night, but worth it. Calimari app was tender and fried banana peppers gave nice bite. LET me tell ya about the Lobster Roll.!!!! it was immense, there must have been 4 or 5 full claws included in the salad, not mayonassy at all perfect mix of quality and quanity. Wife has the "cape" Cobb salad which was enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Service was excellent. and the Irish music made it a great night out

My friend and I were in Falmouth for the weekend. I had been down there plenty of times before so, though still technically a "tourist", I was relatively familiar with the downtown area. We were starving after a baseball game and decided to put our name in at a Mexican place that looked like it had delicious margaritas. Hour and a half wait. Ouch! So, we decided to walk with our buzzer (makes a great accessory, by the way) down the street and see what else there was to offer. Cue Liam Maguire's. As we walked up, we were ever so slightly skeptical. I LOVE the Irish pubs in Boston and have been to my fair share of pubs that claim "Irishness" but are only so in name. We walked in and the hostess said there was no wait. Hunger got the best of us and we told her we would just go drop off the buzzer at the other place and come back. The walk back and forth to the other restaurant probably took between 5 and 10 minutes, and by the time we got back to Liam Maguire's, a small line had formed. We got right in the end of it, but the hostess from earlier came outside to get us and said she had saved the table for us from earlier...amazing! I was seriously impressed by that small gesture. When we were seated, our waiter came to grab us drinks and he was ACTUALLY IRISH (a plus because an accent will always make me melt). I got a black and blue and my friend got a blueberry beer. The blueberries were HUGE and delicious, and the beer was never empty before refills were ordered. The food was unbelievably delicious. I got the Shepherd's Pie and my friend got a burger with the whiskey sauce. We were both happy with our meals and sufficiently stuffed. Probably one of the highlights of the night was the Irish band that started playing within about 10 minutes of our entering. They were very good and had the whole bar singing along and clapping. I have to say, I have spent time in Ireland and had decided awhile back that it is my favorite country I've ever been to. This pub made me miss Ireland in the best of ways...it really seemed to bring me back there. 5 stars, all the way!

Heard a lot of great things about this place. We had a large party of ten which included kids. Two families with three kids each. May not have been the best place to bring them because it was busy. As soon as I said the word ten to the first hostess she looked at the other who had the nasty sour puss face and shook her head vehemently no. I said we were willing to split up. The nasty hostess said we would not get seated til after midnight with total attitude. I responded equally nasty which I regret now. I feel sorry for this person. She can't find the right profession and has to live a rude life. You seat 10 people politely you would make some great money off us and have a great review. Or explain the situation and I will understand. Instead you cost your restaurant how much because you can't control yourself and have to be rude. Hope it was worth it.

Have never had anything off the menu I didn't thoroughly enjoy. Have had great steaks at dinner, and my favorite stuffed quahogs and chowder for lunch, to name just a couple of things. Service consistently good, with live Irish music at night. I always make a trip here while on the cape!

By far the BEST Irish bar on Cape Cod, and one of the damn best in New England. Why? Because Liam is actually from Ireland! That really helps! The owners, Deb and Liam, are as authentic as they come - what you see is what you get. They run a tight ship, but everyone is always smiling and the staff loves working there. Food is great - try the Guinness stew on a fall day, or try one of their many seafood specials in the summer. They have all kinds of beer - from the classics like Guinness and Harp and Smithwick's, to almost everything in a bottle. You don't like beer? No problem! They still love you at Maguire's! They make great pomegranate martinis, and have a wonderful wine collection as well. Make sure you check the website for their daily specials, and check out the calendar for LIVE Irish music - the best! Sing along to Danny Boy, Irish Rover and the Unicorn song, making a fool out of yourself, and meeting new people. Because, after all, the motto at Liam's is, "There are no Strangers, Just Friends you Haven't Met Yet"... Buy some Maguire Wear at liammaguire.com - Liam needs the money!

As a local who comes here from time to time, I was VERY dissapointed with the Lobster roll. Billed as the Cape's freshest and biggest @ $26 it was pathetic! I mentioned my displeasure to the waiter who told the manager and the response was that they haven't had any complaints. Must be all tourists they serve. I should have known better. For a $26 Lobster roll go to the Chart Room or The Raw Bar in Poppenesset, you'll get your moneys worth and it'll be FRESH too! When at Liam's I'll stick to the burgers and beer.

Bar food. I have had salad here more than once that was wilted or frozen. Not for the vegetarian types. That being said, I have never tried their meat dishes. Still, a nice place to grab a cider/beer and listen to some local bands with the residents of Falmouth.

This is one of the best Irish pubs anywhere in Massachusetts, so it's somewhat shocking that it's in Falmouth, a sleepy town on Cape Cod. The food is nothing special from what I remember (typical for the Cape), but the traditional Irish music is fantastic! They'll usually throw in some covers for the non-Irish in the crowd as well. Lots of sing-alongs. It's really a pretty special place. We usually head there after dinner on Friday or Saturday.

I sort of loved this place. The bloody mary's were packed with horseradish, olives, celery, etc. Very tasty. The clam chowder was excellent too. And I had a bite of someone's enormous $25 lobster roll. It was the most lobster I have ever seen on a roll. I wonder if they'd give you an extra roll, because you could definitely make two out of this.

We decided to try this place during our stay in Falmouth Heights. The food was ok, but the service was HORRIBLE. I had to ask for a waitress to come take our order, then ask for set ups, then knives, then refills, then the check. Geeze. The food wasn't too bad, but the whole experience was ruined by the bad service. I will stay away when I go back to the area.

If you're looking for a quick bite or something casual Liam's is a great option. Our party of three ordered salads and appetizers for a light bite before heading over to British Beer Company to meet some friends for drinks. There may be something treasonous of leaving Liam's for the British, but that's another story. The Cobb Salad was great. I ordered mine without egg or onion just because that's how I like it, and it looked like the kitchen made up the difference in avocado, cucumber, and tomato. (Full entrees are also available.) We lucked out and got to see the Brian Boru Pipe Band. Their timing was perfect as they played a quick set just after we ordered and finished up right as our food was served. Really made for a festive atmosphere. Our server was super attentive and shared some local info and talked up the pub's St. Patrick's Day party. If I happened to be in the area on the 17th, I'd definitely be there.

this was a fun place to visit over the weekend. LOTS of locals gossiping. That was entertaining. Food was average. Not impressed with the spinich dip, but it was something to chew on while having a couple beers. Fun place, filled with Irish signs and sentiment. Several copies of the local Irish newspaper were available for perusing. Fun place to hang out.

Just ate lunch there. No wait for a table. However the service was so slow that we waited over a half hour to be served our meals, mind you there was only 4 of us ( 1 cup chowder, chicken sandwich, lobster roll and a blt no mayo--- which had to be sent back because not only did they send a side of mayo but there was also mayo on it and I am allergic). I can guarantee you that I will never go back again and will be sure to never recommend it to anyone.. Oh and the waitress was RUDE!

This bar is not all it's cracked up to be. I was cut off at the bar after having one beer because the obese bartender said she "didn't like the look I gave her" and I was a "jerk". I didn't even open my mouth. My girlfriend gave me a peck on the lips and the bartender told me to "shove my tongue down my girlfriend's throat somewhere else." Who treats customers like this? We were pissed and left, there is also an annoying crowd of local irish folk who think they are in Ireland, news flash, you're on the cape at a crappy bar.

I've got a friend on the cape who likes Liams but I don't really see what all the fuss is about. It's not bad, not at all. Liam Maguire's is just so perfectly average that if I'm going to eat in Falmouth I'd prefer to look at other options first. Food's a tad pricy for the quality. I've had the bangers & mash. I've had a salad with boneless buffalo wings. I've sampled (read: ate some of my GF's order) the mussels. No complaints really, it's just all very adequate.

We had been coming here for many years as they have a decent beer selection. The food is less than average barfood, but we were honestly shocked when we asked for oyster crackers and the bartender refused to give them to us for our 2 year old son who was getting hungry midafternoon. The bartender was rude, disrespectful, and ummm, not too bright or literate. To spare the 5 cents on oyster crackers for the sake of customer service is rather elementary logic in the business world.

I really liked this small town Irish pub. After spying it on Yelp, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try one Saturday night. It is a huge pub, with a bar area and a connecting, extended dining area. There is also a small stage where bands can play for entertainment. On the night we went, Liam MaGuire and his 3-man band were actually singing old Irish classics while playing their guitars and banjo as well. I loved it! It was so nice to see the band loving their job, and the crowd feeding off of their energy. We were actually seated right in front of the stage, giving us front row seats for dinner and a show. For dinner, we shared the fried calamari as an appetizer and ordered our own burgers. The fried calamari was excellent-- lightly battered calamari tossed with peppers (even banana peppers!) and served with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. The bf ordered a regular Cheddar Cheeseburger with the special Irish whiskey sauce and onion rings. I ordered the Turkey Burger with fries. We were more than satisfied with the food, and I was also impressed with their drink menu. Their Midnight-ini martini was delicious and so was the French Coffee I had with dessert. We had ordered the Strawberry Shortcake for dessert, even though we were already stuffed, but there is always room for dessert. :) Overall, I was more than happy that we went to this pub-- the food, drinks, and entertainment were fantastic. Our server was also hilarious and attentive. Liam MaGuire's Irish Pub is a great place for a date, for a group of friends, and even for families. I had a lot of fun and would definitely go back if in the area.

This may be my favorite spot in falmouth! the live music, the great beer...its all good. for some reason everytime im there i end up talking to some lovely irishman right off the boat! its fantastic! when Liam himself gets on stage and starts singing the old irish tunes, you just cant help but hold your pint in the air and start singing along! anyone should go to liams while in falmouth...you wont regret it!

Liam doesn't appreciate you cheering for a Dodger playoff victory during his set, no, nay, never.

Maybe it is because it is the end of the summer, and the wait staff is tired of tourists, but I have never seen such a poor attitude from every employee in this bar. The food was ok. Hard to mess up sandwiches and beer. But the service and attitude is horrible. Every summer I say, "maybe it will be different this year" and it is not. I will not go back.

Great food and our waiter was fantastic! She split a table of 10 people 10 ways on the bill. 24oz beers for $6-7! Great local live music that is not over-loud and a good atmosphere. By far the best restaurant I have visited as of yet on my work travel here in Cape Cod.

I was in Falmouth for St. Patty's Day last year and let's just say Liam Maguires is definitely a place to check out. They have an awesome Irish atmosphere, good food, music, and beer. What more could you ask for? A group of us went down and had a blast!

No They Never No More, (clap clap clap) No they Never No More (clap clap) I've played the Wild Rover No they Never No more Memorize the above song if you want to be cool in this bar/town. Don't worry, if you down one to many Guinisses, the words are embrazed on the walls...The owner, Liam, has an infectiously cute Irish boy band and the place is bursting full of positivity and delcious food.

Went with my husband and 14 yr old (who eats everything). My husband had the sword, a nice big meaty piece that was fantastic. I had a salad with salmon fantastic. My kid had the fish and chips and did not like it which is weird as he is not a picky eater. Very loud resturant. Not traditional pub food. Great menu We were disapppointed band took so long to start up we left. It was good though at least my food and my hubbys. I would skip the irish pub fare

If you happen to be in Falmouth and for some reason wander outside of Woods Hole this is a pretty decent place to wind up. Definitely the most "authentic" Irish bar in the area, its big draw is the traditional bands that play almost nightly. The crowd is kind of mixed; on one hand there's alot of college age to twenty-somethings hanging in the corners, on the other, this is my 57 year old parents' favorite haunt. Beyond the multiple varities of Harpoon and Guiness, the biggest draw for me is the cheeseburgers. If the virgin Mary was to give birth to a char-broiled delicacy instead of JC himself, she'd pop out one of Liam's cheeseburgers. Beyond that, the rest of the food is over priced and just ok. All in all a great place to have a pint and a bite to eat and listen to some rebel tunes.
