Angelina's Submarine Shop is a local institution in the Pittsfield area with several locations. This casual sub shop offers cold subs, hot grinders, NY style cheesesteaks (8" & 12" sizes), burgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, fried seafood, fries, sweet potato fries. beer battered onion rings, bagged chips, small baked goods, and cold Coke cooler drinks. The place is order at the counter (open kitchen area) and there is self serve seating inside. While driving through Dalton, I stopped in at Angelina's for takeout. I ordered a Large Eggplant Sub ($6.50) and a Clam Roll with Fries ($5). The Eggplant Sub had thin breaded eggplant slices with a thick tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese on a very soft Italian sub roll. The Clam Roll had plenty of crispy clam strips with a tangy tartar sauce on a toasted New England bun. The small fries were the standard kind, deep fried golden and crisp on the outside. The food I had overall was pretty good and tasty. I will have to order a Large Steak & Cheese Sub on my next visit to Angelina's. Parking along side of the building.
