Ehh, not great. I remember liking this place while at BU, but it's often kind of empty. I went on a Friday night after being at the Paradise lounge and it was STILL half empty. Drinks are ok, as are prices, but I gave an extra star for the entertainment: watching exceptionally drunken students (and the older men that inevitably chase them) attempt to dance. It's the LAST place I would ever dance (as the "dance floor" is tiny and cheesy), but it's ridiculously fun to watch people make asses of themselves.

T's is can be a good place to go with groups because it has decent capacity and there is rarely a line outside. Karaoke nights are pretty good here, people tend to get into it. The beer is reasonably priced, but not cheapest in town. Other than that, T's is not all that of a remarkable place.

T's Pub is not my kind of place. The music is loud, occasionally dated rock and hip-hop, and the perfect place for the college kid Top 40 crowd. Which is not me. That said, the drinks were priced reasonably, and this is a pretty big bar, with tables, and a funny little dance floor. It's for you, B.U.

I really don't have much to say about this place. Its a hole in the wall bar near BU/BC. The thing that I noticed most, that no one really seems to have mentioned, is that this place is full of cops. I mean off duty cops that come here to drink beers and pick up girls. Really not my scene, but we had a decent time.

T's brings back memories of my brief days at the BU Corporate (Re)Education Center. The class used to gather here for drinks on Friday evenings. Decent beer selection and overall pretty fun time. What sets this place apart from other pubs is that for Happy Hours they give you free wings and such to keep you there and drinking, Since the great state of Massachusetts does not allow real Happy Hours, this is the next best thing.

Tuesday night karaoke can be out of this world, especially in April - get there early in the spring, b/c a long line can sometimes develop. The steak tips are really reliable, and when you're feeling vegetarian, the grilled cheese is quite good. As a BU grad (law), it holds a place in my heart.

I feel like everytime i go, unless its a tuesday, the place is rather dead. Regardless, the massive screens are playing every relevant sport games, and the DJ starts playing after. If you go with a group of friends its a blast or if you're looking to pick up cute BU girls. It is what it is, sports, beer, and drunk college girls dancing to a playlist straight from Kiss 108/a college dorm room(journey plays multiple times some nights). I pretty much consider all those things Pros

It was so much better when it was T's. I hope Steve takes it back and turns it into what it used to be. I have so many good memories of this place from college.

As a student at BU i must have spent hours there and eaten counless slices of pizza in my lifetime. I love the place like I think almost everybody who is a student appreciates it.

This place receives 3 stars because it had a wonderful trivia night back in the day. I wonder if its still going on. I don't think I have ever had a meal there but I do remember some guy who was eating spaghetti. Who eats spaghetti at a bar? He didn't appreciate it when I threw my half full (yes I'm optimistic) Sam Light on him. It was worth the bloody nose I received. A buddy of mine did Karoke there once I think he did "Dirty Water." He was good but he really should have kept his shirt on. :(

Hmmm, where should I start... Located in the hub of Boston University territory on Comm. Ave right next to the Paradise Club, T's Pub is a typical BU watering hole for college students. Their beer selection is pretty good, prices are fair, but take note - THEY DON'T ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS!!! This is the only bar in Boston that I know of that is cash only - seems a bit shady to me, what do you think? Female cocktail staff are never in a good mood, they always seemed pissed off to be there, and this feeling resonates into the Karaoke host they have one night during the week who likes to diss singers in front of the entire crowd. I only visit this bar when other people want to go there, I never suggest it myself (I think you should take my lead on that one)....

Good food, large selection and large portions. I think the prices have gone up slightly recently, and the atmosphere could use a little work (it's a little dark and gloomy for a dinner date). Staff is super friendly. Overall, the good food and large portions make it a solid choice if nothing too exciting.

T's Pub is by far the best bar in Boston. The staff is great, food and drinks are cheap. Tuesday Kareoke gets busyearly, and there are a lot of drunks running around, so don't go if you hate crowds and bad singing. Wednesday is more fun. Less crowded, better DJ, better singing. Thursday is Trivia. It is hard, and I don't go in too often. Great place to watch the Sox and Pats when I can. have some wings and a few beers. Also, they have recently upgraded their drink choices, so, you have to go. Great times

I've found that T's is a hit or miss bar. Right in the middle of Boston University's West Campus, some nights the crowd is great, other nights it is pretty terrible. The dance floor is tiny and there isn' a whole lot of space near the bar either. But the windows out front are nice for people watching and the kitchen has some pretty good food. Plus the projection TV is massive. Everyone who works here is involved with BU varsity sports, so be careful not to bad mouth the Terriers.

Well, I just had to give it 5 stars, even if it isn't a 5 star place. It's the closest bar to my house, and I practically live here. A buddy of mine and I should just send them our paychecks. I can't tell you why I enjoy T's. The beer it cheep, even though we constantly run up $200 tabs. The waitstaff is great, and loves us even though we tend to always make asses of ourselves as we forget leaving. This is the only bar I have ever been to which A) Gives us as many drinks as we want at one time, we've been known to order 12 at a time on busy nights. and B) Actually listens when we say "just keep them coming until we tell you to stop!" I love T's. Tuesday night is A-Game Karaoke, and you have to get there early to get a seat, but boy is it fun to get drunk and watch all of the beautiful BU girls walking around. Someone mentioned that they only accept cash, which is no longer true, all cards are accepted. Let me just say, we have never had a bad time at T's. and they keep letting us back in even though they shouldn't. T's has a very special place in my heart. Also, there is a Firestone across the street, so you can have a drink or 12 while you get your oil changed!

This is an average bar, with average food, average drinks and slightly below average service. It is a decent place to hang out if you don't have other options or your mobility is limited. The trivia and karaoke nights don't fully make up for the lack of luster at this place. But all and all, not a terrible place to get a pint.

Terrible! Service was terrible. My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday around. The waitress took our order (without asking what size burger we would like-he wanted double) and then forgot about us even though we were 1 of 3 tables. The food was awful! Burger was not seasoned and bland, sauce was in dead center of bun, bun was soggy, and some fries were cold! DO NOT COME HERE

Used to work next door at the Paradise in the early 80's, and had dinner ar T's several times a week. The food was average then, and it hasn't changed at all in 30 years. Only noticeable difference is that the TV's are bigger. Stillvery popular with the BU students. Shout out to Steve....he's an institution....

You know when you give a 2 star review and you wonder if you are being a bit dramatic and then you tell yourself, "no they deserve one star and I'm being generous", well that's now. First of all, what is the role of the dudes at the front door? I watched customers walk in while they where huddled down looking at their phones. They lazily checked IDs and resumed their post of looking lazy and bored. We took a few seats at the second bar area. The couple next to us was talking to a server so we assumed that she would come to us next and take a drink order/bring us some menus/welcome us to the establishment. Nope, never happened. Despite my attempts to gain her attention (and we did make eye contact several times) after about 7 minutes, we went to the bar to order beers. There my husband was ignored by the bartender as he was telling a story and could not be bothered. He saw my husband, he looked at him several times and kept talking (place was not busy.) Finally he took his order and he returned with 2 beers (one star for having some "craft" beer selections in bottles as the draft lines/options leave much to be desired (I remember that from my younger days coming here after attending a show next door.) Thinking we still might have a server for our food we hung out then finally my husband went up and ordered our food at the bar. After what seemed like too long for burgers and fries, I noticed what appeared to be our order just sitting on the ledge in front of the open kitchen. I watched the server go over, look at it and ignore it. I assume her thought was "it's not mine". She proceeded to stand around and chat with other employees also bored looking. Finally my husband went up to the bartender and asked if by any chance that was our food. She ran over and grabbed it and put it on our table. So basically, had he not asked, we would never have gotten our food because she had completely forgotten/didn't communicate with anyone on the floor about it. Bar is still empty at this point. The burgers were decent and the spicy fries gained them another star. Will never, ever be back.

I still enjoy coming to T's for the socializing, the beverages, and especially the trivia... not so much the food any more. They revised - essentially downsized - their menu a while ago, making it more of a traditional pub-style. Gone are things like salads, and now it's mostly burgers, a few sandwiches, and appetizers. The amount of meat in the burgers is noticeably reduced as well. It's almost like those old commercials where Clara Peller lifts up the bun and yells, "Where's the beef?!?!" Fries no longer come with your burgers or sandwiches, they're extra. You do get a lot when you order them, but starch is cheaper anyway. Their mozzarella sticks continue to be my favorites anywhere though. But quite frankly, instead of coming to T's for dinner then drinks and/or trivia, I'm now more likely to get dinner at someplace nearby for what feels like a better deal. The service has also slipped a notch, though it is still decent. We got our drinks, and then the waitress disappeared for a while without asking if we wanted food, even though someone had asked for menus. I think you actually get better service when it's busy, because the waitress(es) don't have the time to stand around in the back. I hope the downward trend stops soon.

We had an awful experience! The service was very slow even though the restaurant is mostly empty. Our waitress lost our drink orders. The kitchen messed up our orders and burned our food. We have been here for more than two hours and still waiting on the check to arrive so that we can pay.

Absolutely terrible customer service. At first I was confused on if I should just sit down somewhere or not. There was someone checking IDs at the door however it was very inconsistent when he was checking and when he was not. I observed him walking around the bar as people just walked in. What really upset me was the fact that someone who sat down after me GOT SERVICE BEFORE ME!!!! The waitress then was very rude when she finally approached me. I wasn't quite ready to order then and she never checked in with me the next 45 minutes I was there until I finally walked out. NEVER AGAIN!!! I agree with the earlier reviews to walk the mile to Sunset instead.

TERRRIBLE! On a family night out to see a show at the BU . We decided to get a bite to eat. Walking in we sat down , and sadly that was the smoothest part of the whole experience. It was not busy and we sat right away. We placed our order and got our drinks, patiently waiting. A family next to us came and left and another family ordered after Us And got their food almost immediately. It took close to an hour to get our food. It took an hour to get two salads, a BLT, and a hotdog. The food was half assed, poorly presented and potion size was unbelievable how small the salads were. They were the size of a side salad you would get at say Olive Garden. And not to mention they were ten bucks each. We are a working class family that never complain and takes what we are givin, but this was total unnecessary. We did not receive silverware, napkins, and our food was thrown at us like we had done something wrong. ABSOLUTELY NEVER EAT HERE... Sad but true. God bless.

I came here for New Year's Eve looking to have a great time and for the most part T's did not disappoint. However the one star comes from the experience I had with the employees, a bar back. He was walking by my friend and knocked over his drink and instead of apologizing said "don't get in my way bro" This event was an open bar so it would have been easy just to say sorry and my friend could have just gotten a new drink no problem. When my friend tried to stick up for himself and have a conversation, the bar back then got pretty aggressive and yelled about not making enough money to deal with "this shit". Pretty awkward and uncomfortable

The trick here is to avoid going there on BU infested nights. Went on a Sunday night, so it was a much more relaxed bar atmosphere. This place, surprisingly, delivered on these 4 fronts. Do you like watching sports on big screens? Check. Do you need to eat dinner after playing rugby? Check. Do you want to sample some local beer from the Cape? Check. Do you want to meet up with people before a concert? Check. It didn't deliver on the food.. but why would you come here for that? My friend's burger was overcooked so she just ate all the chips and dip and french fries. I would come back for drinks but easily skip this place if it looked like a frat house.

How do you fail at nachos? It was a last resort to go here in the first place before a show next door. It was also before a BU hockey game, I'll give them that. There were two waitresses doing there best but we had to flag them down for everything, including getting menus and basically saying " hey can you be our waitress". The seating isn't really great either. These are all things I can get over if they have some greasy decent tasting food that I can devour pre concert. We got the nachos and they were really bad. Can't say I've ever really had bad nachos but these had melted (served cold) cheddar cheese AND cheese sauce, there was a GIANT slop of sour cream on top and a few diced tomatoes. Not good at all. The bar pizza is okay but way over priced. It's too bad because there aren't many places to go pre paradise shows. No matter how desperate you are, avoid this place.

Despite working right down the street from here (and 973 Commonwealth as it used to be called) for 3 years, today was my first time in. The place was empty for lunch and I was alone so I sat at the bar. The bartender came over quickly and got me a water. She suggested the buffalo chicken wrap - sounded good to me. It came out in about 10 minutes. The wrap was very good. You have your choice of grilled or fried chicken - I went with fried. It also had nice romaine lettuce, tomato, and blue cheese dressing. I thought it was pretty mild buffalo, but it was good. The fries were very good too, although I prefer mine a little crispier. Where sandwiches can easily set you back $7-8 at a fast food/takeout place, I thought my wrap with fries for $9.50 (before tip) was a pretty good deal. Service was good and the place seemed clean. Now that I've been in I definitely plan to go back.

Like BU students? Who doesn't. Like them packed to the rafters on a cold night drinking and partying all night? yeah, me too. You don't come for the service or the food (trust me). but for happy hour onwards, just what you need. Every sport on every TV, cheap beers, great music, people having fun.

  • Christina S.

The service and food here is pretty awful. The waitress comes around about once every hour and takes half an hour to get your check once you request it. Honestly, they only have one waitress working the whole place and she's just too busy. The beer options are alright but there are better places in the area. The food is terrible and it's clearly just heated up frozen food. I'm giving two stars instead of one because Thursday night trivia is awesome! (The trivia host has is own company and it's not run by T's)

  • Ana R.

Really good beers on tap, big open windows and outdoor seating. Nice bathrooms (for the ladies, at least). HUGE projection tv to watch the game. Trivia twice a week and Karaoke on Tuesdays. Great place to chill before a show at the 'Dise. Will definitely return for food, because it smelled heavenly (read: like bacon).

I wouldn't even go here for one drink. Rude staff and the place was visibly dirty. Not to mention the 5 foot college kid working as the bouncer. Could not tell he was the bouncer as he was reading a book when we walked in. Then he continued to bend and break our IDs. We were only trying to find a place to have a drink for my friends 24TH BIRTHDAY! This place didn't even earn 1 star.

With a night at Paradise Rock Club awaiting us, Eric and I needed a quick dinner to give us the energy to power through the throngs of people wanting a good spot. "Oh, greasy bar food" we exclaimed with joy and anticipation. "Oh, a trashy dive with food cooked with love and affection," we hoped. Nope. Just bad. If I wanted to watch 19 year old BU students drink cheap beer, I would have gone to a frat party. The mac and cheese was probably lacking cheese (and any discernible flavor). The pesto chicken pasta was... erm... there. On a plate. One star for remembering to pay their electricity bill. One star for the exceptional view of boys running in tights along Comm Ave.

I wish it was possible to give zero stars because it actually painful to have to give this place a single solitary start because they don't even deserve that. I legitimately created a Yelp account for the sole reason of leaving this review for the pure consideration of other prospective patrons that will hopefully read this review and make the right choice to not come to this sorry excuse for a "restaurant/bar." So background.. This is summer time, no BU students around, on a Monday circa 6pm. Signs state "seat yourself" and there was still ample seating available so we chose an outdoor table. Fifteen minutes pass and we don't have menus nor has anyone asked us if we wanted to order beverages. After consulting with other clearly agitated parties around us, who we now realized had been waiting even before we got there and still were yet to receive their drinks. At this point we walked inside and ordered our drinks from the bar. We also searched for menus and there were none to be found anywhere in site nor near the "hostess" podium that was never attended to by a hostess. Since no one could give us a menu some other customers were nice enough to share theirs with us. After about 20 minutes and calling out for the waitress and having her promise to take our order next, she disappeared for another 5 minutes before she took our order. We asked if there would be a long wait for the food and were told about 15 minutes, which would seem to be about standard seeing as they were slightly busy but clearly not full to capacity. Side note: the food ordered was all fast and standard pub food, i.e. chicken wings (it was supposedly a "wing night") and grilled chicken wraps. We continued to have to walk inside and wait for service at the bar just to get a drink because the waitress wouldn't come near any of her tables (later we found out this was her first week ever working in a restaurant, never mind waitressing). We even had to go inside for refills of fountain sprite which we were charged for. On the second trip to the bar I noticed the chaos ensuing inside. At this point over half of the customers who had been there well before is hasn't even received their orders and many had walked out on their orders. Everyone was canceling their orders or leaving and the bartender, who was apparently pretending to be a manager only had the response of "what you've never had a bad day before." I can understand the service industry having worked in it before. Things go wrong. It happens. It's how you correct it and treat your customers that is important but instead of any type of apology or discount of any meals the "manager" told everyone that they should understand what it's like to have a bad day. This was the most terrible customer service I have ever witnessed, but I was only waiting about 30 minutes at this point so little did I know things could get worse. Much worse. .... 1 hour 20 minutes later: At this point I had been inside about 4 times to check on our order (we had tickets to a show that night and had an hour and a half to spare, we were late). The waitress told us the cooks "wouldn't give her a time frame" so I went up to ask them myself. At this point the cook asks what I ordered and then tells me there are still 5-6 orders ahead of it. For the record at this point in time about 80 percent of the restaurant had been driven out due to the terrible service. The bartender posing as a manager then came out and said if your food is not out in 2 minutes 30 seconds then then your meals are free (all drinks we bought were from the bar since we had a better chance of seeing god than our actual "server"). So the 2 minute 3 second window passes times about 4 so ten minutes later they come out with a random assortment of food, none of which we wanted nor order. It was clear they were just giving us the food they had made for the other parties who had walked out before reviving it. .... 15 minutes later: oh wow our wraps and wings come out! Oh wait only 3 out of 4 orders. For the other one, we don't have any lettuce anymore. Really? An hour and 20 minutes after the order is placed we are informed a key ingredient in the chicken lettuce wrap is missing. The "waitress" offered to make a grilled chicken sandwich instead so the member of my party agreed. We received the bill and they didn't apologize nor take one thing off the menu From managers to cooks to bartenders to waitresses I cannot say enough bad things about this place or these people. They should be ashamed to run this type of "business" with such blatant disregard and disrespect for the customer. Bar rescue would surely have their work cut out for them at this place. Location had potential but management is beyond atrocious. Go to the sunset cantina or anywhere else on the planet. Bottom line this is the worst restaurant I have ever set foot in so I really hope my review will make people think twice about going to this place.

I've been here twice and have had 2 bad experiences. Round 1: Friend and I visit for a drink after work. It's called "T's Pub" so imagine my surprise when I ask the waitress for wine, but she's stumped on the brand. No problem, I ask her for a glass of the sweetest white wine they have. After all, maybe it was her first day and she's clearly polite and willing to get me an answer--props to her! When she returns in what I imagine is with some wine options, I learn wine is off the menu and apparently so is my friend's previously ordered Long Island Ice Tea. We were baffled, and while I can't have wine, my order of a White Russian apparently is doable. When we ask about my friend's tea, we're told they are abused by the local college community and they can't serve them to us. After a long day at work, they way this information was presented really irritated us. It felt like we were being punished for other customers abusing alcohol when this was our first time in the facility. My friend is a softy and so she presses on, asking what options they have and the waitress assures us that while they can't make her a Long Island Ice Tea, they can make her "anything else!" Friend orders something else I forgot.. waitress leaves.. comes back and apparently they really can't make anything else because that second concoction isn't possible either. Waitress and friend volley back-n-forth with drink options for what seems like forever while I wonder if my buddy is going to snap before or after I get my own drink. Friend settles on the first drink she discovers they can make, just not wanting to deal with the situation anymore and too tired to figure out where else to go. Round 2: Why in the world did we come back and why did we bring someone else? What can I say, it was a long day at work and this was the closest bar. Right away, things start off badly. Friend #2 asks for a drink and they can't serve it to her. Friend #1 (from Round 1) remembers the Long Ice Tea drama and Friend #2 is clearly not impressed to hear about our previous serving difficulties. The waitress stands by during this story, nods her head, and explains this is due to some sort of zone regulation. After hearing they are unable to serve certain types of drinks, Friend #2 asks for a drink menu to see what they can make. They don't have one. I am not kidding, THERE IS NO DRINK MENU IN A PUB THAT IS RESTRICTED ON TYPES OF DRINKS THEY CAN LEGALLY MAKE. Worse, Friend #2 has to get up from our table and go to the bar to ask about drink options because our waitress couldn't answer questions about what *was* available. When asked, the waitress pointed to a board across the room that we couldn't read from our seats and then recommended we ask the bartender on the other side of the room. Ugh.. it is such a drain to come in tired wanting to relax, wanting to order and learning you need to get up and hike across the room and have another conversation because your waitress doesn't know the menu. While Friend#2 is at the bar trying to figure out her drink, I notice I have no ID. I'm 30 and *ahem* I look 30. I ask our waitress if this is an issue and it is... I can't drink. Now, that's on me, but she doesn't even offer to get me something nonalcoholic, instead ignores me and turns to Friend #1 asking what she wants. Friend #1 tries to order a drink, and is told they don't have it. Friend#1 puts her face in her hands and mumbles she doesn't want anything anymore. As Friend #2 is returning from the bar, our waitress leaves. We all look at each other confused and no one is sure if we are ordering drinks or staying or going. Our waitress doesn't return, so we stand there becoming more frustrated and finally just leave. On the way out, I see the board at the bar the waitress was pointing at... it's not a detailed drink menu, just something about Yelp (HAH!) and I think 1 or 2 mixed drinks. We went to Cane's next door, I ate chicken and was happy.

I think this place has real charm in that run of the mill, perfectly average sports bar kind of way, though I've only visited in the summer when the BU crowd is mostly away and the place is relatively quiet. As a vegetarian, I was surprised to find a seriously tasty veggie burger here, but beyond that there's mostly the usual pub fare. Drinks are served with a healthy pour and the bartenders have been consistently polite and attentive. After a few visits, I've only seen men here. So fellas: if you're looking to do the manly Hemingway/Teddy Roosevelt/Sports and/or not worry about impressing anyone kind of thing, then you might enjoy. Ladies: your call.

Bleh. Their beer lines are sour, the help doesn't really give a fudge about you, and the food is horrifyingly sub-par. It's apparently the place to quaff down beers before you see a show next door, from what little I gathered from the conversations of other patrons. The only pluses here are the fringe benefits - buck hunter, golden tee, and Direct TV baseball/football packages. On the whole, however, I would not go back to this hole.

Green Rolling Rock glasses and cheap pitchers along with the entire BU alum? Hell yeah! This is a great college bar right in the Alston/BU area where most of the students come after their hockey games and for most of their sports needs. The fun starts when someone texts in some nasty words to the ceiling fan text service that illuminates that message for a small fee of $.25 per message. I don't know if we were the only ones who noticed, but it soon stopped displaying a message and we figured it was us. We had our fun, drank our drinks, watched some sports, and had a great time overall. The DJ was okay, although all bars blare music so you have to yell to the person next to you.

Ok, I just came back from T's and I feel kinda dirty. Here's why...first, terrible service tonight. The place wasn't crowded at all and it took forever to order, get our food, wave down an extra set of silverware, etc. The waitresses would walk by, but not make eye contact or respond to saying "excuse me". Ok, slow service happens at mediocre bars. Why so hard on them? Because they super over charged us... for pretty much everything. Tonight was $2 pizza night, but we got charged $7. Ok, it happens. When we told the waitress she said, "Oh, right, it should be $3". Huh? The menu and all the signs clearly say $2. Hmmm... This made us take a second look. Upon closer inspection, we found that we also got charged $1 more for every sandwich we ordered. After trying 500 times to flag down our waitress, we finally sent someone up to the wait station and she said, "Oh, we're going to change our menu, and our computers already updated." So you've been knowingly charging everyone more than the price on the menu and not fixing it unless people complain? Sketchy. Adding a few extra dollars here and there over the course of the day or week adds up. Poor form. A good business should be really conscious of synching their menu with the computers, because it left me feeling like they were taking advantage of me and trying to pull a fast one. Definitely lands them on my poo-poo list. Would be only one star, but I gave them a star for having Old Bay. Maryland pride.

I love food, I love bar food, the food here tonight was awful. We had wings that tasted like dirt and undercooked wings. Made me sad because it looked like a fun place to eat

My review that is under their alias 973 Commonwealth... Maybe if you invested some time in getting good staff instead of worrying about what you are called I would be back. no matter how many times you flip the name back and forth it's not going to change the fact that this place is ruined by recent management/ownership changes. I went into T's last month before a show at the Paradise. Like I have a million times before. Just needing a quick bite to eat and a couple of beverages. The guy at the door could have been anyone. He wasn't terribly pleasant but wasn't awful. He wasn't a hostess he only checked our id's. We wandered into the "dining room" where there was a private party taking over most of the area, there were about 10-15 people there for this. Fine, we made our way to the table on the edge of the area not being used. And then we sat. And sat. For 10 minutes. Waitstaff walked by us, they cleaned the tables near us, they ignored us when we tried to get their attention. We left. At this point after having wasted a good 15 minutes.

Is 0 stars possible? Here is a tip for management - lose the wait staff they not adding value especially when you have to actively seek them out. For some reason it appears to be more fun hanging around the kitchen/bar area while patrons on the other side are out for sight and apparently out of mind. Please DO something about trying to improve the service!!! It's generally acceptable to wait staff to walk around every so often to survey the dining area... Simple, at least I thought so until 2 recent visits... Thanks but no thanks...

I can't believe I'm doing this, but they finally won me over a little bit. I suppose this is more of a 3.5 stars.... but I'll round up to 4, because they've had a long, strange journey. T's pub V1.0 was expensive, jockish, and almost a bit weird honestly. Maybe it was just me. 973 Commonwealth was the same crap, with seemingly lower standards. T's Pub V2.0 is honestly not bad. I worked right above this place for over 3 years, and it was nice to FINALLY be able to order a decent lunch from T's! It's typical bar food, but they finally do a consistently good job with it. The beers are your usual joe-shmoe sports bar beer selection. Lots of TVs. And the service is very good. PLLLEEEAASE don't change it again!

I went here with several friends for drinks and they ended up putting through one of the charges on my credit card four times. When I called the next day to inform them of the duplicate charges I was effectively hung up. This place was fun and the atmosphere was great and after several more calls they eventually withdrew the duplicate charges but I felt they could have been more accommodating in fixing their mistake.

Hubs and I came in on a Thursday night to meet a friend of ours. We were both coming straight from work so we were hungry and decided to get dinner there while waiting for our friend. Throw into the mix that we had to ride on an un-airconditioned Green Line train, our server knew why we looked so miserable and served us with water once we were seated (after we figured out tables were seat-yourself). Hubs ordered a bacon cheeseburger. I wanted the Southwest burger -- pico, chipotle mayo, pepperjack cheese -- but only with chicken instead of the burger. I asked our server if this was possible and without hesitation she said, "Absolutely, no problem." Perfect. Well, it was no more than 15 minutes when our food came out. Fries were crispy and hot. Hubs enjoyed his burger and my chicken sandwich was ridiculously good with just enough spice. Not enough to burn your taste buds, but just enough kick. And for $9, the quality and quantity outmatched the price. Our server wasn't great at keeping drinks refilled, but she was working all the dining tables in the area and did the best she could. Plus, she was super friendly. After our meal was over, Hubs explained how he came to T's back in college (ahhh to be young again...) and during Red Sox games, T's offered $1 hotdogs. The server just nodded her head and said, "Yeah, we still have that." So if you don't want to pay Red Sox ticket prices (and who does?) just come to T's pub and grab a seat in front of their 12-foot projection screen, grab a few beers or a pitcher, and proceed to munch on some $1 hotdogs. You can get the same game-watching experience of Fenway with better service and a cheaper price tag.

*Note-Review is for awesome Monday Night Bartender Danny Only* Sometimes you walk into an establishment, look around, see it's dead, and belly up to the bar. Sometimes, the bartender is texting, or acting bored. This was not the case here at T's pub, this Monday night, 9/5/11 Danny, our bartender, has to be one of the best in Boston. Why? He was personable, engaging, and always had a smile on his face. He served our 25 cent wings with style and flair. In addition, he was actually interested in what myself and my companion were saying, and could hold his own in an intelligent conversation. Danny was also attentive of our drink status: if we we're low he would inquire if we wanted another right away, and our waters were always full. Danny exemplifies everything a good bartender should be: personable, fun, and an focused on the customer.

I have to give this place another try giving a full verdict but it was 'okay'. I have never been to the old place but it seems like they are trying to do things better (based upon reviews from TJ's). Well, Boyfriend and I went there on a sat for early dinner. It is glorified pub food. We got an oder of Potato skins- basic appetizer. It was very cheese, potato was a good size, cooked perfectly. My boyfriend got the fish and chips and I go the 973 Sandwich. We ending up splitting so we had our share of both. He was not impressed with the fish and chips- the fish was round which is not the typical shape, but he thought it was over cooked. I like the batter on the fish but I thought the fish was cooked perfectly, the batter was pretty well done though. I was not too happy with my sandwich because it was not served on the foccacia bread, as described. Instead I got a rosemary roll. The roll had a lot of flavor which over powered the sandwich. I was expecting a flavorful sandwich with the hicory smoked bacon and the pesto mayo but the rosemary stood out. My boyfriend thought the chicken on the sandwich was tender but it was lost in the roll. Better luck next time?

Came here on an early Sunday evening- it was practically empty. Food was pretty good. I had the Chipotle Turkey BLT- it tasted way better than it was described in the menu. I was pleasantly surprised. Turkey was rather good quality. Chipotle mayo had a tiny kick to it. The bread was grilled nicely. The other half even tasted good cold the next day. Hubz got a cheeseburger and enjoyed it. Fries were good. Portions were perfect for the price. Service was good. Place was clean. Will definitely return! (and this is probably one of my shortest reviews ever)

shocked to see some bad reviews on this place. We had GREAT meals and really good service. The beer selections were good, beers were very cold...prices are good. We have found it hard to find good places in and right around Boston U. This place is a keeper...

As if you'd ever want to picture message your personal pics from your phone to a large screen for all the drunk bastards in several bars to see... As if anyone is really a fan of 6 baseball teams and needs to watch ALL the games at once in ONE bar over some shitty wings and beer... T's lounge is your basic sports bar... with some incredibly cheezy gimmicks that no one really cares about. Certainly not worth a nightmare trip out on the green line for.

My friend and I decided to stop here for some dinner before a show at Paradise tonight. Upon walking in, we stood at the host stand like fools and waited to be seated. Apparently the rule here is that you can seat yourself, which the two waitresses failed to mention to us even though they saw us standing there looking around. After five minutes, I walked over to a waitress and asked if we could sit anywhere. She replied as if we were dumb and we chose a table. After a few minutes, she came over and took our drink order which was a bottled beer and a soda. We got our drinks and waited a good 10 minutes before being able to put in our food order. She came over and said, "So are you guys ordering food or...?" No, we just decided to sip some sodas and watch the ball game with our menus open. The food came in no time and was very good. However, halfway through my meal my knife launched off the table. I would have asked for another one, but our waitress was nowhere to be found for the rest of the night and the other waitress was waiting on a party of 30. In the meantime, my friend's mouth was burning on her buffalo tenders and she couldn't get a drink refill. We had to be at the Paradise in 15 minutes (mind you, we walked in the door an hour and a half before we needed to be there) and had to ask the other waitress for our check and she was just SO happy to help! Didn't get our check for almost another 10 minutes and then had to wait another 5 for her to come get our card. Wouldn't return here again unless the staff gets an upgrade!

The food wasn't all that astonishing or anything, but the portions were giant, they have a giant TV with the Sox game on, and after the show next door at Paradise, my 3 friends who eat meat ended up ordering 100 chicken wings, which were only 25 cents apiece on Monday nights. For what it is, the food is definitely decent, and the server was nice.

Food was ok, chilli cheese fries were the only things worthy of mentioning. They were delicious! The staff/server was very friendly. As you can see, service is a major component for me! With that said, I am giving it a 3 because I was not completely impressed with my meal.

This place is closed under the 973 Commonwealth name and reopened under T's Pub. It was just ok before and has gotten worse now. I went with three friends before a concert next door at the Paradise and were disappointed with the service and food. I know this place is brand new but there was only one waitress to a room filled with maybe 20 large tables. She was friendly but obviously couldn't handle that many people and we saw at least a couple groups of people walk out after waiting for 10 minutes for a menu. After waiting for about 15 minutes for a pitcher of beer we had ordered, we just went to the bar and ordered another one. The worst part is that there appeared to be a manager just schmoozing with a group near the kitchen! The food was just ok when it finally came out. My chicken sandwich was a lot more bun than chicken. My girlfriend's burger was under-seasoned and overcooked. The worst part is that it was cold when it reached the table. It would be a great place to see a game given all the TV's surrounding the place so hopefully they can fix their issues soon.

973 is a great place to catch a brew and watch your favorite Boston Sports team. Between the HUGE projection TV, the solid beer list, and then good food you really cannot go wrong. I've checked it out quite a few time with friends, and i'm confident in saying we will all continue to do so. In short, it's not much of a date place, that is unless your date likes sports in which case, pull up a bar stool order some wings and enjoy the monster projection TV that is such a big part of 973

T's Pub SUCKS!!!! The only reason I ever have had fun there is because all of my friends are there. Otherwise, it is like any other college dive bar, but with imprudent, and pathetic ownership, and management. It seems as if all the people they hire to work the door are the type of people that were never liked in any other facet of their life, so they use their power as "door men" to feel good about themselves. The manager is no better, in fact, he is probably the worst one of all of them. It doesn't matter if good, upstanding customers have been waiting in line for over an hour, he will allow any BU athlete, or male he deems "cool" to skip the line and go in. I guess, it is the only way he feels good about himself, but it is no way to run a business. Furthermore, I have seen on more than one occasion, girls being harassed by the door men. The only girls that are ever let in without a problem, are those girls who flirt shamelessly with them. The length of the line and the doormen's tactics in dealing with it might not be a problem if they didn't let only two people in per 30 minutes (no matter how crowded to bar is) and let college kids of all ages in to party....yes, they check ID's for show, but it seems as if there is no "real" age discrimination when deciding to let a person in. I am sorry for my rant, but I just have never seen a business so poorly run, before you even get in to experience it! It's as if the owners made the decision to only hire a bunch of unintelligent, ineffective, and pitiful men to run the outside of their bar---which matters, especially when there is always a huge line. It's a shame because once you are inside, the bar staff, music, and food are pretty good! Yet, it's just not worth it to go through the line and have be unfairly and poorly treated by their door staff.

I was here in the fall for drinks and dinner before seeing Billy Talent next door at Paradise. When we got there we actually saw BT's guitar player come in to grab a big bag of takeout for the band. 973 Comm has a ton of TVs and a huge projector playing any and every sports game that's on at the time. According to my half-finished review from 5 months ago I had the chicken sandwich and it was a pretty damn good sandwich. I'll trust I knew what I was talking about and stick with that and the 4 / 5 stars that I rated it.

Ok so I may have gone on the wrong night but what the heck? The place was FILLED WITH MEN. My friend and I were among the only girls in the place for a Wed. night happy hour.... We asked the host/doorman if they were sponsoring an elks meeting or some other kind of men's social group....nope...apparently this is just where dudes of all ages hang..... The bar itself is ok....but really nothing to write home about .....It sounds like Tuesday is the only fun night there....I may have to go back for that. The reason they get three stars instead of 2 is because I ordered turkey tips and salad and it was surprisingly yummy..... I know not my most creative review but I thought I would share anyway:)

973 is located at the site of the former bar known as T's pub (where people come to meet). Are they trying too hard by having a restaurant/bar named as a number? more specifically, their address? My co-worker and I decided to check it out since we loved T's pub so much, especially with Jim, the clown/bartender. We noticed that not much visibly changed, just a little things here and there, but the skeleton of T's was still there. The barware lighting changes colors, and the tequila/margarita machine is gone, and the bar stools have been updated. There are 4 or 5 more flat screen TVs than previously. So, I'm a little confused if 973 wants to be a lounge or a sports bar? We took a seat and ordered from this new menu. There was quite a selection, anything from from burgers, comfort food, and classic american sandwiches. I had the mac n' cheese, which was alright--a step up from Easy Mac, but not much. However, for the $10 price tag, I would have expected a little more. My co-worker ordered the 4-cheese grilled cheese and had a similar opinion. It was okay, but nothing special. The waiter did recommend getting the fried green beans as the side, instead of the sweet potato fries, french fries, or onion rings. We tried it...it was good. It had the same batter that onion rings or hush puppies have. I really couldn't taste the green beans, but I guess if you are going to try to be healthy, at least its a fried vegetable, right? All in all, the service was good, food was okay...nothing special. I'll probably come back for drinks but will probably opt out of the food.

I was in last Friday when the Bruins and Sox were both playing, there was a good crowd but it was no where near packed. Some friends had already ordered before we got there and after about 20 minutes the waitress came over and asked us what we'd like to drink, we figured this would probably be the only chance we'd get to order so we placed our drink and food order at the same time. Drinks came quickly but it took about an hour to get our food (Spaghetti and a Veggie Burger) and our friends that had ordered before we got there had their food arrive 15 minutes after ours. Spaghetti and their "homemade sauce" was terrible, it was like a mixture of 1 part ketchup and 9 parts water. Veggie burger was okay. Waitstaff wasn't very attentive in greeting us or checking in to see if we needed refills. Over all service was pretty bad. Waitress kept telling us the kitchen was slammed but the whole place wasn't even full so I can't imagine how bad service would be if they were busy. Next time we'll just go to Sunset across the street.

If I were a BU student, or had I been a BU student, I could definitely see the draw of this place. Total college bar. Props for having PBR tall boys and UFO Raspberry on tap. More props for having karaoke on Tuesday night. The bar is big with plenty of large screens for the games. The bartenders are really nice too. Beware of all the BU guys ordering PBR's and opening up tabs on their mom's credit cards. This place got packed on Tuesday night which I appreciate... Tuesdays are the new Thursdays. The average age here was about 21... but if your an alumni, you should have no problem returning to your old stomping ground.

A synopsis of what happens when I go to T's pub: Me (to friends on Monday): Let's go to T's and get drunk and sing karaoke on Wednesday!!! Friends (to me): That sounds awesome! ------------------- Friends (to me on Wednesday after work): We're not going to show up! Me (to lame friends): You're lame! I'm going anyway! ------------------- Me (to me on Wednesday night at T's): This isn't very awesome! I need to drink more! Me (to me later on Wednesday night): This is getting awesomer! I should drink and sing more! Me (to everyone at the bar around 12:30 on Thursday morning): I'm awesome! You're awesome! This is AWESOME!!! ------------------- Me (to me on Thursday around 8:00 a.m.): That wasn't that awesome at all, and it feels like some giant dude is hitting me in the head with a big rubber dong every second or two and my mouth tastes like a cat shat in it and now I have to go to work. Where's that damn cat? I'm gonna kill that cat. Damn cat. (note: Deadford does not have a cat)

Formerly T's Pub, I love 973 for what it is. It might be trying to be a cool, upscale, trendy place, but it's really just another glorified BU bar. Embrace that and you'll have a great time. So the drinks are a bit pricier then they were at T's, just bat your eyelashes at a BU frat boy and you'll be set for the night. One thing that is markedly better at this place is the service. The bartenders and cocktail waitresses are always friendly and attentive, which is impressive considering the crowd on the weekends. I can't say anything for their food, but my drinks have always been fine, even if I can't remember what I ordered the next morning.

After a less than stellar Smashing Pumpkins show we wanted to get a little crazy. Last time we came to this place we got DRUNK!!! and had a lot of fun. I still have the t-shirt. But something was amiss this time. There were countless games on the TVs but no Boston teams I could see. There is a dining area that doubles as a dance floor and it was empty. The DJ was a girl who seemed to only be interested in playing songs she knows the words to. She'd play a song, sing to it and walk off to talk to other employees. The song would end and nothing would happen for a good 5 minutes. Boring. I asked for a wine list and was laughed at. I then suggested a shooter the bartender didn't know how to make. Instead of asking how to make it the bartender suggested beer. I ordered a pinot grigio which came in a just washed glass, (i.e.warm). Yuck. My boyfriend was trying to make the best of it telling me to be quiet but when I asked if his beer was cold all he could say was "um, not really."

To quote Brian D...T's pub is a "stellar example of a mediocre sports bar". I couldn't have said it better myself...guess that's why I didn't and quoted someone else...eeeh, anyways. So yeah, I went to T's before a show at the Paradise with a friend of mine. Decent sized crowd, friendly wait staff and alright selection of beers. Definitely a destination for the avid sports guy/gal - they had a big screen in the back playing that nights Celtics game and I noticed a majority of the patrons wearing sports hats and jerseys. Ill probably end up here again at some point before another show at the Paradise. Not a place I organize a night around, but not bad to chill, eat some grub and kill some time until your band(s) goes on.

Say it aint so. My virginal BU drinking experience is now gone. "After 27 years of business, T's Pub located at 973 Commonwealth Ave Boston, MA (next to the Paradise Rock Club) has been sold. (I heard he sold it to his son--so we may be ok after all) T's Pub was Boston's first and longest running sports bar. A pioneer in Boston's nightlife, it was the first bar in Boston to feature karaoke, team trivia, and the "DJPower" video player. It will be closed until late October and remodeled... but it will never be the same without Steve there! This is a group to publicly thank Steve and his staff for all their hard work that made T's Pub what it was- THE place to meet!" I must thank Steve personally for playing a part in having few very memories of my Freshman year at BU.

Cool bar, Nice layout, Just went for some drinks with friends so I don't know how the food is. Only downside is the drinks are not even money for example a coors light was $2.60 or the bud light was $3.60. We got some shots and it came to some odd uneven number. Other then that nice place.

T's has to get 5 stars since I frequented it during my time in college like Norm did Cheers. Okay, maybe not that frequent but if I wanted to go out, I knew I could have a good time at T's. It's honestly not deserving of 5 stars but I went to BU and lived right by it. My friends and I were always there on Tuesdays for karaoke and I love my friends so T's wins by default. Karaoke is hilarious and deserving of 4 stars on its own.

Formerly known as T's pub 973 is just as great. Food def upgraded since the new management took over, they have high quality bar food. Steak tips, burgers, chicken, salads, quesadillas pretty much everything on their menu is very good. Great for watching a sports game they have huge flat screen tvs and karaoke on Tuesday nights is a lot of fun as well. Nice place to hang out for drinks and get some food with friends! good prices and very friendly waitstaff!

(Formally know as Ts) I am definitely a fan of this bar. It's a popular scene for the younger aged crowd, ranging from college students to people in their mid-late 20s. The environment is extremely welcoming. The bar takes up the entire left wall, which is nice because it usually doesn't take too long to get a drink. The prices are also fairly reasonable and the bartenders are always friendly and efficient. There are numerous TVs all around the bar (huge screens), which is perfect for game nights and their infamous Tuesday karaoke nights. There is a good amount of floor space which is mainly used as a dance floor (esp. on Tuesdays) which is perfect since it's right next to the DJ booth. Basically, this bar is a great scene and a perfect way to make the work week pass by faster.

I loved this place last year on Tuesday nights for its karaoke. Such a fun time... My friend from Ireland loved to go here and crank out classics like "500 Miles," "Summer of '69," and "Don't Stop Believing." Nice bartenders, and the owner was great... a little having to do with him being close friends with my college roommate's dad.. but still great. I hate the small space between the bar and that standing counter... and then the awkward layout with that huge pillar in the middle.. It gets horribly crowded and fills up quick!

973 is the best bar in the BU area. NEVER had a dull night!!! staff is great, always welcoming and friendly!!! Tuesday karaoke nights are AMAZING!!! Always a young crowd on Tuesdays, mostly BU students. Friday and Saturdays there are more in their 30s and less in their 20s. Much better than jtree where there is always a line....DJs are good, good mix of 90s and current jams.

I almost want to give T's 4 stars but things can go either way with this joint. My softball team heads here after our weekly slaughter on Nickerson Field. The food can be kind of crappy but if you know what to order, it's fine. Stick with the individual pizzas (pretty good) and burgers or sandwiches. Be warned, if you want a sandwich, they regularly run out of bread options by 7pm so you'll be stuck with rye. Beers are average price with a couple of cheap deals that are well worth it after a few good pints. Service can be super slow or it can be great. You never know what will happen! The suspense!! T's is a great place for a large group. You can basically take over the entire bar and shove the stragglers out of the way. What? Is that rude? It's also good for watching games. The many TVs and gigantic projection screen ensure that you truly can't avoid watching. Good for me, bad for those who don't give a damn about the Sox. But really, if you don't care, why are you at a crappy sports pub during game time?

  • R F.

Not my kind of place... somewhat average, well-priced (cheap) bar food. However, 2 things make me give it a 2: 1-Mix 98.5/Kiss 108 radio/mom friendly rock music blasting even with a live DJ 2-Nachos are worse than High-school lunch nachos It's an OK place, but I won't be going back there...

I came here for the Thursday trivia night with a big group of friends. It was weird at first, pretty full, with lots of y chromosomes, and a softball team. I got a Bass on tap, for almost $6, and they do accept credit cards. Trivia was hard, music kinda bleah. The place had a neighborhood bar vibe to it. Nothing spectacular, just kinda average.

I don't even know where to start with T's. In college, T's was the bar that we always planned to NOT to go, but where we always ended up (along with the rest of BU) at the end of the night. On one hand, I really did enjoy T's when it was on my list of top drinking spots. The mixed drinks are cheap and large, and I was guaranteed to know at least half the people inside. On the other hand, I have no desire to frequent this place now. I definitely burnt myself out on this bar, and I'm not into hanging out with hammered college students. T's was great because it was there. I put in my required time, and I'm more than happy to let the current co-eds take my spot at the bar.

  • Brian D.

A stellar example of a mediocre sports bar. Seriously. That being said, I really don't mind T's all that much. In fact I like any bar where a waitress will walk right up to a gang of 5 scruffy guys huddled around a scratch ticket vending machine and perpetually refill their whiskeys and beers. The beer selection is not the reason to come here, nor is the food. In fact why the hell you would want to come here is well beyond me. But, that's ok this is just one of those joints that once you end up at a few times you will find yourself coming back to over time because it is just so very, very 'OK'.

I went to 973 with a group of friends over the holiday. I loved the feel of the bar immediately- high ceilings, good lighting and good music. The wait staff was accommodating and friendly to our large group and we were seated pretty quickly. My fiance is a vegetarian, and I am a picky eater- however most our friends love a good burger. 973 was able to accommodate all of us! The fried green beans are delicious, the salad selection is great- and 973 Commonwealth seemed to be one of a few places who could do a wide range of meal options without sacrificing quality! Strong drinks, friendly service, great atmosphere- I'll be back soon!!!

Meh..seems like an OK place to go before Paradise or some other event in the area if you happen to get there too early. When we went there (Saturday night around 7 PM) it was pretty dead. They had blueberry beer on tap (with blueberries in it) and some bottled pumpkin ale - the food was your typical fare of fried bar/pub things although it did include vegetable tempura with teriyaki sauce which was surprising to see amid jalapeno poppers and mozzarella sticks. I did see they have karaoke sometimes but hopefully when it's a little more full - but hey if you go anywhere with your girlfriends you can have a fabulous time whether there's one other person there or 100 other people there, right?
