I've only been for cocktails and for Beyonce brunch, and the cocktails here are pretty fabulous. The food at the Beyonce brunch was very disappointing, but I would go back to give them another shot. Maybe the brunch was just an off menu. Read more here: marissagrace.com/reviews…

Ok, yum. The food here was really great. My friend and I each got salads with added salmon, and they were fantastic. And the portions were reasonable. We were there for lunch, and it wasn't too busy. What really impressed me though was that the waiter left us alone when it was clear that we were just going to sit there and talk for awhile after eating. There was none of the trying to push us out. I'd like to go back and try other dishes.

When I read that Back Bay Harry's was throwing a Mean Girls' themed brunch, I had found my mission of the day. Combining a few of my favorite items [brunch, good friends, a day time movie and scrumptious 3 course menu. The location is fantastic, placed directly by Columbus ave in back bay, and the place was packed. Bartenders walked around in cut out tank tops and everything pink [as appropriate] and made sure you felt right at home. You were poured a complimentary glass of champagne and you would browse around the menu, filled with pictures from the movie, quotes and the name sake brunch items. For the actual event, they show the entire movie, so 3 times that day in case you had worked that whole shift. To the food itself: You start off with latkes with applesauce for the table and are adequately given enough for your party [there were two of us and we got 6 latkes]. Also, they were huge and delicious. I could've just munched on those but it would have spoiled the rest. You get to pick your main course which is one of 4, I opted for the Regina George's "So you think you're really pretty croquet madame", while my friend got the Gretchen Wieners "That's so fetch" French Toast. Again, these dishes are huge!! Incredible. The French Toast came smothered in blueberries and sugar spread like you would have found on one of Gretchen's genius father's inventions [the Toaster strudel] and maple syrup. It was clearly enough for two people. The Croque Madame came nestled in a bed of [Aaron Samuels] Arugula salad and smothered in melted cheese. Slowly, I made my way through the layers. The flavor was just outstanding, evenly balancing out the delicate prosciutto and parmesan and getting a whiff of fried basil here and there. I wanted, I NEEDED to stop, but I just get eating away at it and the movie continued and continued. I needed to keep room for desert, the "Sweatpants are all that fit me right now" Chesecake; a New York style Cheesecake slice with delicious crumble crust and covered in Strawberries. Amazing. Unfortunately, we needed to depart before the movie was quite done so we needed to take the desert to go, but the staff had no issues packing it up for us. No deliciousness was lost on its way back to the house. Things I will note to the movie: 1. Remember how long movies are? So make sure you budget enough time on these themed brunches and eat accordingly. 2. There's a pretty substantial gap between entrée and desert so when we needed to leave it was a little hard in tracking down a staff member who had all disappeared to the back for other chores. 3. It's very loud. Movie theater loud. So it's awkward to socialize. However, all in all a delightful experience and worth the $35 price tag. Normally I consider that a little pricey, a portion of the proceeds are donated to a theme appropriate charity [in this case and anti-bullying charity] Do come to one of these.

I came here late at night with a group. We were in the back room and hoping to get a quick bite before heading home for the weekend. The service was pretty slow and the food was nothing to write home about. A few of my people got some drinks (which I sipped) and they were really weird. I think one of them had butter in it? I try to have an open mind with these things, but one sip and - nope. That being said, it was late at night and I think the kitchen was close to closing time. My food was fine and good portions, but I've also had better. I'll have to head back again during more normal hours and try it again.

Boston has many brunch options, but if you need a spot to fit a good-sized crowd, that can be a bit tougher. That is, till I found Back Bay Harry's! They not only took my reservation, but didn't blink an eye when I later called back to up the number. As a pleasant surprise, we found that we were set up in their lovely private room in the back, away from all noise (well, except for some persistent pounding from the kitchen). Generally, it has a long table that seats 20, and an end wall decoratively filled with shelves of books and knick-knacks. Back Bay Harry's had a reasonably priced delicious sounding brunch menu that had initially enticed me to look into this as the location of our outing. Fresh Made-To-Order Cinnamon Sugar Doughnuts served with three sauces $8 arrived as 5 balls of dough tossed with cinnamon sugar, with: . peanut butter . caramel . white chocolate mousse The peanut butter was thick and seemed to basically be peanut butter. It was my least favorite, while the light white chocolate mousse was by far my favorite such that I ate the remainder straight up. Crab Cake Benedict two crispy eggs, wilted spinach, cajun hollandaise $15 sounded terrific. It also looked terrific. But the taste fell a little short, though I have no idea what was missing. Their Churro French Toast $10 lacked the crisp texture churros are known for, but what do you expect after a soaking in an egg batter bath? The Open Faced Fried Egg BLT $10 sounded great, but was found to be a difficult dish to eat daintily. So consider yourself forewarned. Back Bay Harry's Weekend Brunch is only served Sundays from 11am - 3pm.

I love this place. Haven't tried the food yet, but the cocktails are just fabulous, and the styling of the bar is so wonderful. It's one of my favorite things to do to slide into the bar and sit looking out at the city as twilight sets in. The bartenders are friendly and quick, and overall it's just such a lovely experience being at this bar. Exactly what I'm looking for.

Food and drinks are always great here! Dining service is awesome as well. Service needs to be better at the bar though. Lunch takeout picked up today was missing the sides that I ordered and the bartender was rude - Knowingly kept people waiting, no greetings but just handed out the bill when she finally decided to serve a customer (who comes here on regular basis).

Good food. Decent place to get a light meal or a drink. The burgers and fries are excellent, as is the chicken sandwich. I prefer to sit on the bar side on one of the tall tables. The menu selection has some good sales, too, and the house made pizza is good. Prices are fair and the service is fine.

My niece and I went for resturant week. Booked through open table. Seated and greeted promptly. We chose the tuna tacos and calamari for apps. Tuna was perfect but the taco itself was cold and fillings boring. The calamari was a good sized portion and crispy but had way too many hot peppers. For entrees we had the shrimp scampi and steak. The shrimp scampi was full of butter and had corn-a first! The steak was grilled to perfection but one of the slices was full of chewy fat. The server was very kind to wrap up one of the desserts before it hit the table and the creme brulee was delicious. Overall the ervice was excellent but the food just okay. I would go back for one of the signature cocktail but probably not for another meal.

Great cocktails with even greater names. Of course my favorite one has the least creative name IMO, Dark Krystal, but it's so very delicious with its pomegranate tequila, citrus, agave nectar and champagne float. A bit on the sweet side (as you can imagine given the ingredients), so I typically stick to just one and then switch to something tamer. On my 3rd visit, I finally tried the food. The menu is pretty interesting, with some inventive dishes like chicken fried bacon (what is that?), deviled duck eggs w/ tuna tartare, rosemary spiced cashews, and about a dozen optional add-ons for the salads. FYI: the menu online was not the same as the menu at the restaurant, not sure if they ever update the website. My dining companion and I started with the cashews which were a delightfully spicy/salty/sweet treat. I had the Baby Kale Caesar. Quite large and equally tasty, but not exactly as it was described on the menu. She had the Arugula Salad with grilled chicken added, and informed our server of her dietary restrictions (GF & DF). When it arrived, the server assured her the chicken was not cooked with butter or any dairy, and the side of oil & vinegar would be ok. Except there was cheese on the salad. Not a big deal, she happily & apologetically took it back and returned promptly with a fresh salad that was actually DF. Again, it wasn't as it was described on the menu, but still good. Overall, we were both pleased with our dining experience and agreed we would almost certainly return to sample some of the other intriguing menu items (and cocktails). The restaurant/bar has a nice vibe to it with some more opulent design elements balanced out with a more casual, relaxed atmosphere. Very clean, bright bathroom! Friendly, helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit for after-work drinks, a casual dinner for two, or even a festive group outing. I've also heard great things about the brunch, specifically the themed brunches. Def gonna check those out.

Wow... This place has come along way! First, the service was outstanding! Our bartender was cream of the crop! Great conversation, drink suggestions, and professional and personal demeanor. Here's the kicker: The food! Absolutely amazing! The best fries I've had in Boston since I moved here 8 years ago! So perfectly seasoned and crispy... wow. And the burgers are superior. Also the best burger I've had... so juicy and perfect... I'm so impressed I could rave for days. You absolutely MUST try Harry's next time you are craving the perfect burger, especially if you value good customer service!

Harry's is a great neighborhood spot. No pretense, no flair (ok plenty of flair for Britney and Beyonce Brunch) but other than that it is a very welcoming, local spot. Tried Valentines Day dinner here (in the middle of a blizzard) and was pleasantly surprised. Been back a few times and enjoyed. They do a killer Sunday brunch. Speaking of Sunday brunch, if you have not been for one of the "themed" Britney, Beyonce etc brunches you are truly missing out! Insider Tip: Harry's does not have valet. I valet right next door at the Loews hotel whenever I am in the neighborhood. The Doorman are always accommodating.

This is a mixed review for me, I chose BBH's for dinner during Dine Out Boston week. Once we were seated, they only handed us the Dine Out Boston menu and with no choice but to wonder what other options they had in house. Drink menu had a wide variety of different beverages to choose from including wine options, beer options as well as house cocktails. I chose the Shake & Bake only to bring it back to the bar because it just lacked of any substance in there for me..gin?lemon juice? just a weird combination and the server wasn't surprised because she explained that the cocktails tend to be surprising for a lot of people too. For dinner I chose: ++Ahi Tuna: 4 blocks of tuna seared pepper encrusted tuna cuts on top of a dollop of spicy mayo? some herbs and a sliced of fried avocado. Maybe I should stop ordering seared sashimi because I prefer fresh rather than seared. I mean it was okay...the fish was fresh and the spicy mayo was a nice touch but nothing amazing about the dish. ++Special of the day: veal, pureed turnip, cranberries and maple sauce. I wanted to try something different and I was so glad I went with this option. Not sure if this is a regular on their menu but it was the special for the day. It was my first time eating veal..I think... and the texture of it was almost similar to moist chicken. The gravy sauce at first on its own seemed very sweet but it was a nice pairing with the veal. The turnip puree was a nice touch but it was really the sweet and tart sauce that tied the dish together. ++Beignets: Maybe I have a huge sweet tooth when it comes to my desserts but this wasn't sweet enough for me. I didn't really enjoy this dish -- you have about 5 beignets which are soft, sugar topped munchkins paired with a whipped sugar cream? and chopped strawberries. If I'm going to stuff my face, please make it a bit more pleasurable. Overall, the restaurant tries to put a new spin/twist on regular entrees but it falls short due to the lack of the taste combinations. I had the chance to try my two friend's dishes (salmon entree & mussel entree) and I was not impressed. I would give it another chance since I enjoyed my dish and perhaps the regular menu may have something else to boast about.

I waited until I had been to Back Bay Harry's several times before sitting down to write this review. This is something I don't normally do for most restaurants. However, I had a mixed experience on my first two visits and since my fellow diners really enjoyed their meals and I had heard great things about the restaurant and chef I kept coming back. Overall, the menu is reasonably small and you may have trouble finding something you are in the mood for. Not all of the meals are exactly what they seem. For example I ordered a salad expecting something of reasonable portion size and with lettuce and what I got was a few varieties of tomatoes carefully placed around my plate. That being said the food they make is high quality and it is delicious. If you find the right things you will be in for a treat. At this point having dined there 6 times, I can say that for lunch you should consider only three options: 1) Grilled Avocado Salad (add chicken, steak and/or bacon) 2) Back Bay Burger 3) Pork Cubano Sandwich All of these meals are absolutely delicious and since it is conveniently located next to where i work, i will continue to go back and order these things.

Listen up people. This is my first yelp review, and I was so inspired by the brunch I had today that I had to post one. My companion and I started off with the apple empanadas which come with some amazing dulce de leche-ish sauce for dipping. They were crispy and warm and flavorful and could have just as easily been ordered for dessert too. I was intrigued by the tostada entree because I love all things Mexican, but was a little turned off by the poached eggs so I got mine without cheese (it didn't say that it had cheese on the menu but when I asked she said it might so me being the queso hater I am I went sans- cheese) and had them scramble the eggs... and let me tell you something... I would eat that darn dish for every meal for the rest of my life. So here is what you get with the tostada, piled on top of two fried tortillas was a mound of pulled pork, (my eggs scrambled), guacamole, pico de gallo and then some sort of crema sauce on top. The whole plate was garnished with half of a lime and a sprig of cilantro. I devoured the whole thing. My companion got the breakfast pizza which had two eggs with meat, potatoes, cheese and was served with a homemade ketchup that she is now obsessed with. Two thumbs up from her as well. As far as I am concerned I would definitely go out of my way to come back here, and from what I hear they also do celebrity themed brunches (did someone say Beyonce?) which must also be a blast. Also, although I did not order one all of the drinks were named after fun things from TV/Movies which is pretty cool.

Haven't tried the food yet, but the cocktails are excellent... $11 will get you a well-crafted, unique, delicious cocktail with hilarious movie reference names ("School for Ants", "Shake and Bake", "Scotchy Scotch Scotch", "Tigers Love Pepper, They Hate Cinnamon"). My "MA! The Meatloaf!" was excellent, a local rum-based cocktail with pistachio that I'd happily drink all night. Service at the bar was excellent, and the seats are cozy and perfect for long stays, albeit a bit too close together. Solid place to come for a drink when you're in the area. My one comment is that in the cold weather, every time the door opens, a chill rushes directly over to the bar- would be nice to install some kind of curtain or wind blocker.

Came here during pride, not knowing there was going to be a prix fixe menu...maybe put something on the website? or email it when someone makes a reservation online (it just kept talking about fathers day). We thought everything was taking a super long time to get (she took our orders and then we didn't get anything for 30 minutes and it wasn't even half full), but then the drinks came, and then 5 minutes later the appetizers and entrees...good thing our table wasn't full because there would not have been enough space! I'm also glad my entree was cold because there's no way it would have stayed warm while I ate the appetizer. I had the grilled blueberry muffin which was fantastic. It was so soft I'm amazed it was able to be grilled. My entree was a bagel and lox which came with an undressed salad, cucumbers and creme fresh. The creme fresh was great on the bagel, because the bagel wasn't super dense. The lox and cucumbers complemented everything else well, except the salad because it was quite dry. Another plate had it too and my friend wasn't a fan either. For a drink I had pride punch, which I don't suggest as it was so light in flavors (watermelon and cucumber) it was almost flavorless.

Service: Server was very prompt in taking out order and providing any explanations we asked regarding the menu! We were seated right away, and the waiter frequently checked in with us to check if we needed anything. This was all during lunch time, so it was impressive considering it was pretty full. Location: a 3 min walk from Back Bay station, and a 10 min walk from Copley station. It's very convenient in the heart of Boston. Food: I had the margarita pizza! It's on the larger side, so it's pretty filling. Their salads and burgers are also very good. Ambiance: There is an impressive bar in the back and full-length windows providing excellent lighting over the entire restaurant. I really liked the neat atmosphere here. Bar: Full bar! Excellent selection of cocktails.

I had lunch here with my brother the other day, and would definitely recommend. I had the open faced BLT. It was excellent! The bacon was cooked perfectly and the sandwich was complimented very well with avocado, herb mayo and a sunny side up egg. I got the fries with my sandwich. They were nice and crispy with just the right amount of salt and spice. This was the 2nd time my brother came to Back Bay Harry's. Both times he enjoyed the back bay burger.

my colleagues and I went for lunch and while the menu options were appealing and the food was pretty good, I was not overly impressed. it took a very long time for the wait staff to serve us, and it was also very hard to catch their attention during their meal which became a bit frustrating. I decided to order the open faced blt sandwich with fries. it came topped with a fried egg which was probably the best part. the bread was a thick cut focaccia, but was a little too heavy especially with the aioli. it came with a lot of bacon, but the bacon was unfortunately very limp and hard to cut due to the thickness. the fries were great, and a good complement to the sandwich. I also tried the mac and cheese which had a great spiral noodle but was a little watery.

I was here for a work dinner... so when you're the paying you can evaluate the food quality from a judgement free zone... Had the grilled octopus for app and was amazing. The kettle chips is a must if you're here! Mnn bacon dip! For my entree I had the swordfish,.. which first looked a little plain but was absolutely tasty with couscous and carrots on the side. My coworkers had this lobster pot pie (which is lobster tail in a pot pie) and the fried chicken with donuts.. I didn't get to try, but it looked pretty good as well.. Service was a little awkward as our waitress seemed shy and/or young, but all orders were correct and our water and drinks were attended well.

Went here to grab lunch during the week since I work nearby. We took a seat at the bar since it was pretty crowded. I went with the chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken sandwich was very tasty. It came with avocado and spicy mayo and had a great flavor combination. The fries were also very good and went well with the side of spicy mayo I requested. Overall, this place has a good vibe, friendly service, decently speedy food, and reasonable prices and is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

After the Great Snows of 2015 I was finally able to get together with my dear friends for brunch. We hadn't seen each other literally in months, so we ended up having a 2 hour brunch at Back Bay Harry's. The food was very good! Three out of five got the Crab Cakes Benedict, and I think their only comment was that the "crispy egg" needed a better descriptor (it is basically a soft boiled egg, lightly breaded and fried). I had the Open-faced BLT and couldn't eat my accompanying fries, it was that filling. The bacon was crispy, the fried egg on top had a nice runny yolk, and the herbed mayo added just the right flavor. My friends kept ordering their delicious-looking breakfast cocktails, but since I can't drink during the day and be functional, I stuck to coffee. Quality cup of Joe, with free refills to boot. The waitress was very apologetic when I noticed an OJ I ordered and never received was on the bill, and removed it immediately. One of my friends' credit cards got lost among a few others and some receipts in the shuffle and the waitress ended up accidentally splitting part of the bill in two rather than three. Not to worry, she was able to reverse the transactions and split the bill accordingly. All in all, a great meal. I'd like to try dinner some time for the full Back Bay Harry's experience!

The past few times I've been to BackBayHarrys its been a clean, sophisticated, pleasing experience. This time the bar was the place to be. Family and friends of mine went in for a later happy hour/game before the club (yes we were there for a while). 'Melissa', behind the bar, was so on top of everything, she seemed to know when to recommend food/another round of drinks & was overall intuitive enough to keep the moods lively. She had complete control of the bar with a ease/grace showing professionalism at its finest. Food was tasty, clean and satisfying. The menu was clever; with Will Ferrell's character quotes as drink names and out of the ordinary ingredients on food items/plates. This not so casual place serves great signature drinks, awesome food and has a calm vibe in a place making it comfortable for one on ones/bigger groups on the night out. Cheers!

I came for the Sex & the City Brunch and it was great. The menu was really creative, and I loved the little touches ("I'm sorry. I can't. Don't hate me." post-it on the "Ex in the City Nachos"). Drinks and food were delicious. I'll go back for just those nachos alone. The waitress was friendly and quick. I had a great time!

I went to Back Bay Harry's for dinner last Saturday evening. The food was very good , but the service was incredibly slow! We had to finally flag down our server to ask if we could order, then after that the food took forever to arrive. It was an hour between the time we sat down and the time we got our food. Fortunately, they gave us some delicious artisan bread and butter while we waited, and the food was worth waiting for! I got the burger and it was great.

Worst customer service, particularly given the number of repeat business people that come here for work lunches. It can be hard to get service from the waitstaff and they don't seem very interested in the customer based on multiple visits. My friend and I came here and it seemed they "ran out" of everything. By the way, it was noon--- you've run out of lunch food by 12:00 PM? They used to serve a great grilled cheese that's no longer on the menu- when my friend asked if they could make a grilled cheese (any type at all), the waitress said they didn't have the ingredients. Really, you don't have any bread or cheese, even though all of the sandwhiches on the menu consisted of various breads and cheeses? When I ordered the Italian BLT, the waitress told me they ran out. I asked what exactly they ran out of, since the sandwich sounded good even if it was missing an ingredient or two or just needed a small subsitution. She just kept repeating, "We're all out." Does that mean everything is pre-made? We finally got our food- the Wild Arugula & Asparagus Salad had no truffle vinaigrette (and I definitely ddin't taste any truffle) and it appeared to be served without any dressing. The asparagus stalks weren't even trimmed so I had to cut around. Since the salad had no dressing, we needed some salt, but the waitress didn't come check on us until the end of our meal and it was too late. I guess you could go here for a drink after work for pure convenience, but don't bother eating. They've either ran out of the food or don't serve as it's presented on the menu. And they don't really seem to care that you're there in the first place.

Only table in the restaurant and had terrible service. Had to get up to ask for a side I'd ordered and again for another drink. No one checked with us to ask about our meal. Asked to speak with a manager and explained the situation. He explained she'd be written up and probably fired, which was unprofessional on his part. Five people on the floor and two people in the restaurant and this was the service? Plenty of other places to enjoy in Back Bay. Go there.

Short review.... because I was never served. Manager in the back wiping tables, walks away, bartender polishing glasses, glanced at me, runs back and forth from the kitchen, bus girl wandering between areas, refuses eye contact. I see ppl around with empty glasses. Maître d absent from post. What on earth is happening here? Sat amused watching all this. Then I upped and left. On the flip side I've hosted events here, and it's been great. Guests loved it. Thought I would drop by for a late meal. Guess not.

So glad I decided on this restaurant for Valentines day! Could not have made a better choice! The food, the manners of our waiter, the cleanliness and again the food... Was Incredible! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new restaurant to try out! I will definitely be returning.

I used to love it here but I came today and was unpleasantly surprised to see that the avocado salad with chicken was $17. Way overpriced. Half an avocado, a piece of chicken and some veggies - it's yummy but I was hungry an hour later. Maybe I'm just misremembering but I didn't think it used to be that expensive. A convenient lunch space for those in the area, but the sandwiches are much more filling for the money. Not to mention their fries are quite good.

Came for Sunday brunch & it was fabulous. I highly recommend the homemade donuts as an app (they're bite-sized). Drinks are perfect & suit everyone's taste. Love this place! Sheri at the bar is 5! Jerrick also did an outstanding job!

I'm glad I happen to find this gem next to my hotel. I came in on a whim & was blown away. Started with one of their signature cocktails "MA The Meatloaf" it was excellent! Tried the clam chowder which had nice large clams (no skimping). Noticed the had Gosling dark rum & ordered up a dark & stormy. But it was the buttermilk fried chicken that put everything over. Possibly some of the best fried chicken I've had. And I'm from the south! Highly recommend stopping in for a quick drink or dinner. They do not disappoint!

Maybe it was an off day, but my friend and I had an overall mediocre experience on a recent lunch date. The menu we found on yelp was far more expansive than was actually available. The atmosphere was pleasing and conducive to conversation. There are enough area restaurants in the area to explore before going back here.

BRUNCH!! After roaming around the south end and unsuccessfully finding a spot with under an hour wait we stumbled upon Harry's. Service was great our waters were never even half empty. We had the crab cake Benedict and the scrambled eggs and 2 coffees and it was phenomenal. The crab cakes were unreal sausage and bacon were on point... Even the strawberries were to die for. The fried egg was like anything I've ever seen. So cool! This is 100% our new Sunday brunch spot. Highly recommend.

This was so close to being a 5-star review. The lemon butter with the bread is great. The lobster pot pie and crispy duck confit were both raved about. But I had requested my beef tenderloin medallions to be cooked medium well. And my two friends confirmed that what I had received was rare: dark red in the middle. For a nice establishment, I expect better timing on the steak, but otherwise the experience was a good one.

This place was recommended by a waitress we had at fire and ice. I didn't eat but the drinks were awesome. They were very creative and delicious. The price wasn't bad and they didn't skimp on the liquor. I definitely recommend this place for drinks with friends.

Business lunch - good service and good food. My clam chowder was very good. Better than Legal, which I had the other night. I got a roasted brussel sprouts salad and added the salmon. I was expected more sprouts but it was primarily spinach. I didn't mind since I like spinach. The salmon was smoked, which I really liked.

I went here with a big group for restaurant week. The food was okay, but there were some issues. A few people at my table got the salad for the appetizer course, and it was full of sand. Seems like they didn't bother to wash the greens. I had the figs, which upon first bite, tasted like burnt, but then once you got into them, they tasted like candy, which was nice, but probably more appropriate for a dessert course. The entrees and desserts were fine, but nothing exciting or special. The cocktails were quite good. Overall, everyone left a bit disappointed. It seemed overpriced for food that was just okay.

Let me start off by saying the food was REALLY good here..if it wasn't for the food being so good this place would have gotten a two. The service was HORRIBLE. our server was SO RUDE and had no personality for the first half of our time there. he later explained two people were fired earlier that day so he had to take everyones tables. Had he explained this earlier in the evening it would have been a lot better. Back to the food-my boyfriend had the fried chicken which was amazing. the table also ordered a pizza, scallops, and another fish dish-all excellent save room for dessert!

This place is fantastic for dinner and drinks! Very trendy. Fun staff. Drinks: couldn't keep away from the King of the North. So, so very good. Apps: Calamari is great, good spices and generous potions. Tuna tar tar is the STAR though -- holy hell is it good! Dinner. Get the fried chicken and doughnuts... It's so good and you shouldn't even second guess it. Cannot go wrong. I'm drooling just thinking about it. We wanted Irish coffees to end the night - unfortunately they ran out of baileys but they made us something else. Needless to say it was a miss and the waiter could tell we weren't that into it but we weren't going to say anything - it was a good try! The owner came over and took them off the bill which was a truly fantastic gesture. Greatly appreciated. We will be back!

Very slow and poor service at the bar on a mellow Sat nite. Nice presentation, salty and too much cream. Also very cold from front door opening

My dinner group ate here on a Friday evening in December. RATINGS: Food 4 Service 4 Décor 4 Overall 4 SUMMARY REVIEW: Diners agreed the "art-deco inspired" re-imagining of the former Geoffrey's Place space was impressive. Cocktails reviews ranged from "inventive expertly crafted, and a good value at $10 a pop" to " too syrupy and sweet". Service was good, but a little slow and slightly disorganized at times. Buttermilk fried chicken had "skin crisped [to] perfection" but a pan-seared scallop dish had a smokey cream sauce that "tasted like someone melted down a Slim Jim in it". Though experiences were mixed all agreed that Back Bay Harry's is worth another trip. DINNER COMMENTS (lightly edited for space) Impressive re-imagining of a space. Comfortable interior, warm lighting & thoughtful details made BBH as standout. Foodwise, I thoroughly enjoyed the tuna tartare and the brussels sprouts salad. I would absolutely go back for the bread rolls alone, but I wouldn't say no to an arranged marriage with that fried chicken either. Service was good, but a little slow and slightly disorganized. I will absolutely return here. -- Really loved the space (in a "I couldn't LIVE in this, but it was fun to visit" kinda' way), and was surprised at the sophistication of the food, and good service (though water refills were hampered by my location in the center of the big table)... I went with two specials: A mushroom pizza, and the cod special both were solidly done, if not amazing). I'd say the setting and service are slightly better than the food, but on a hole, this was better than i expected, and worth a return visit. -- I have been burned in the past with restaurants touting upscale food, with prices to back it up, but the food was absolutely delicious at BBH's. I started with the bbq pork slider, the pork was soft, but the additions of crispy pork skin and a fresh cucumber gave the slider crunch and texture. The fried buttermilk chicken...where do i begin? The skin was crisped perfection, seasoned with a medley of southern spices, and topped with a maple bbq sauce that gave a sweet spiciness to the dish. The potatoes were creamy and delicious, though the honey doughnut-beignet balls were just ok. I thought the service was a little slow, and I was presented with two dishes that were not mine. -- I liked the atmosphere very much. Dark Krystal cocktail was potent, but too syrupy and sweet for me. The onion rings were very flavorful with cajun spices and dipping sauce, but they were too soggy. My pan seared scallops were a huge disappointment. The seafood was perfectly prepared. In addition to scallops the dish included lobster meat which was a pleasant surprise [But it was] served with [linguini instead of angel hair]. The cream sauce was pasty and smokey and [Instead of] a saffron-lobster broth [it tasted like they] melted a Slim Jim in it. After 4 or 5 bites I couldn't eat any more it was not good. [The] restaurant has great potential [and] I'd give it another chance, but my initial experience goes down as mediocre on all levels. -- Solid 4's across the board. I've been to this venue several times in its previous incarnations, and I have to say that they did a great job in giving the space a contemporary vibe. Service was good, not spectacular. I found the cocktail list a little off-putting (mostly for the names of the drinks) so I had a reliably delicious Lagunitas. I had the Roasted Brussels Sprouts Salad, which was tasty, and the Meatloaf Wellington, which was really good. The mashed butternut squash was a little over-seasoned, but other than that the meal was very good. I also enjoyed the bread, and I was quite full after dinner despite being a hungry big boy beforehand. I'd definitely fo back to try the fried chicken that everyone raved about. -- -- I [had]the brussel sprout salad and the fried chicken. The brussel sprouts were roasted but still had some crunch and had a great balance with the grapes. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and had just a bit of heat. With the savory donuts with the sweet barbecue, it was awesome. I would go back. The server was good, except for a noticeable gap between the apps and the entrees. Definitely worth going back for more. -- From what I could taste through my cold, the food is delicious! Cocktails are inventive, expertly crafted, and a good value at $10 a pop. The everything-bagel-like dinner rolls with whipped butter are enough to keep me coming back. The meatloaf wellington was delicious but I didn't care for the overly-curried butternut squash. Would love to go back for the fried chicken. Decor is sexy and even a little decadent (mmmm velvet banquets) but the dining room was a little loud, -- My cocktail was sweet , drinkable but not memorable. Caesar salad and it was average at best. burger which was perfect. I would definitely give this place another try,

Let me start off saying that this review is not about the food. The food was not disappointing at all. We had an 8:45 pm reservation for a party of 5. As we notify them that our party has arrived they indicate that are table is not ready. They give an explanation and an ETA of 10 minutes. As time passes, we get 3 different explanations to why there is a delay for a table. At 9:15 we are told that we get a private room due our wait. So we expected to receive good service; however. 45 minute wait for our drinks, and apps. Then another 1 for our entrees. My friend had to bus our table after the app in order for our waiter to check on our table. To top it off, as we walk out a homeless man opened the door for us and asked for money.

Had dinner at Back Bay Harry's on Monday 1/12/15. Quiet night in Boston with the cold weather so we decided to head out to dinner. Stopped in at about 7:30 pm and the place was kind of quiet. We were greeted by a pretty hostess with a nice warm smile. We decided to sit at the bar and have dinner and cocktails. I had the fried chicken which is great comfort food and was delicious. My partner had a couple of appetizers and thought they were wonderful. Been here a couple of times for weekend brunch and the place does not disappoint. It is on the moderate level from a pricing standpoint as most entrees were $20.00 - $26.00 . Very good restaurant with pretty good service to match in the South end / Back Bay line.

Went here for dinner with a friend last night. It was fine, pretty standard, nothing special. Slowish service, acceptable food. I won't be back but that's just bc there are better options in the neighborhood. Tip: avoid the private dining room if possible. It's a little "90s hotel"

I came here for Valentines Day and it's pretty disappointing. Waiter was terrible, inattentive, and spent much of the night hanging at tables with large parties while the smaller two top tables were ignored. For a casual but nice restaurant the music was so loud that multiple guests had to ask them to turn the music down. Last time I checked, I wasn't at a club. I got to learn a little bit of sign language and we had to mime our way through a conversation because shouting would disturb the other guests trying to mime too. Food was descent but overpriced. Drinks require you to pull a mortgage and you sit and wait. It was not the best experience for what I thought was a new and cool restaurant in Boston. Tables were empty but they couldn't accommodate us. Looks like it won't be in business for long at this rate!

Took my mom here for her birthday dinner and the food was delicious! It's a cute little place, nice ambiance. I had a lobster salad slider which was the special appetizer; it was seriously the best thing I've ever had. This should go on the menu full time for sure. My mom had the lobster pie for dinner and I had the margarita pizza; both were delicious. Our waited was attentive and pleasant and the experience was great! We didn't have any drinks, but they looked good too. Slightly pricey, but worth it. My only complaint is that they put us at a low table towards the back and instead of going around the hostess kept squeezing people past my chair to get in; they easily could have walked around..

At Back Bays solo. I had the Tuna tartare Polynesian ( loved it-The sweet dried corn accent was a great complimentary texture and flavor) and the maple pecan cheesecake. The cheesecake was like what every cheesecake dreams to be. See pic. I was fluffy and a perfect mixture of flavor and texture with fresh ingredients and a not too big or small portion size. I want to learn how to make it. It is not too often at my age that I come across something delightfully new but this was it. The place is a hip and chic 30-40 "some things" place but it was still very comfortable. Service was a little slow toward the end for me. Otherwise a great experience.

I always like to make sure I've been places a few times before I write a review. I love Back Bay Harry's. I actually never went here before it was BBH so I'm unbiased. It seems as though a lot of people think it's different from whatever it was before and don't like it as much? But anyway - I've dined here and came just for drinks. Their cocktails and food are absolutely amazing, and reasonably priced for the quality. The service is great, too. Their butternut squash soup is delicious. And I got their grilled chicken sandwich the last time I was there - also delicious. Favorite drink has to be the Dark Krystal cocktail. Amazing! I do have to say I sometimes feel a little underdressed when I come here, though -- it's not dressy but I would say more business casual :)

Truly beautiful venue. Plenty of bar seating, with elegant dining seating to the side. Didn't have the pleasure of trying the food, but on a Saturday night, it wasn't overly crowded, and the facility was squeaky clean. The manager is awesome, the staff is friendly, the drinks are strong.

First off I LOVE the rehab they did to the space. I was a long-time patron of Laurel and went to Geoffrey's frequently but this arrangement is by far the best. The staff are great, atmosphere is nice and prices are reasonable. The only reason they're not getting 5 stars is they offer nothing for vegetarians. I mean I can have a salad, a pizza or a sandwhich, but that's it. No entree. Vegetarians don't just eat salad, portobello burgers and quinoa. Some of us have refined pallets and it's frustrating when, in 2013 in Boston, we're relegated to side dishes because someone is either too lazy, too unimaginative, or just not considering vegetarian food. I realize there are plenty of veggie restaurants but I should be able to dine at a restaurant with my friends without having to decide between plain pizza or another salad with goat cheese and walnuts. BBH's isn't the only restaurant that does this, but come on. Even meat eaters don't eat meat at EVERY meal.

Stopped in to watch the US - Canada game last week, and besides the outcome, had a great time. The bar is much brighter, and more open than when it was Geoffrey's. I had the burger and had to say, it was pretty good. Fries where tasty as well. I sat at the bar, and service was good, although I think some of the pressure started to get at her after awhile. Other than that it was a good experience.

I came in here after work at about 5 PM on a Wednesday, and it was pretty empty. By the time I left, a little before 7, it was pretty full! The service at the bar was great. We had a mixed drink and martini, and both were good. They also serve Avery White Rascal in a can, which is nice. For food, we had the house salad board, which was large and fresh ($7), and two fish tacos and a bbq pork slider (each $4). The weakest part was the slider, which was too salty, but the fish tacos were on point and as mentioned before, the salad was well worth $7. The service was quick, friendly, and we did not have to wait around at all. I will go back to try the other food and maybe get a table vs. sitting at the bar. PS. I have tried their "Dark Krystal" and it is tadi4 (to die for).

Nice to have something close to work for a change other than Flour and Zocalo (which the latter has now limited their weekday lunch hours to thursday/friday; enter sad face). Located within the same building as work, just two floors below, BBHs has a decent menu to choose from. I can only speak to lunch as I have not paroozed the dinner hour. The office ladies and I ordered a few things; I ordered the grilled avocado salad to-go because it's much easier that way being so close to the office. Upon receiving the salad, I realized they added chicken (enter sad face again). I don't eat meat. I called, they were completely apologetic and offered me a quick re-do. Upon opening the second salad, it did not look as pretty as the first salad; where it actually looked like it was quickly strewn together for their mistake. The salad was good, not amazing. The dressing, a chipotle dressing, was lackluster. I was hoping for some kick but it was nothing special or great; just decent. Not impressive for a $9 salad. Now, digressing on tastes from small bites from the ladies orders; I must say the french fries were damn good. I mean, a double-fried french fry is something I would never pass up. The grilled cheese was a hit in the office and the mission fig pizza was spot on (I had a bite without the prosciutto) with other delectable pizzas I have tried in the city. I would definitely go back for lunch; the prices are decent and on par with other lunch places within a block radius. The space is a bit odd in where you can sit, but the bar definitely is always my go-to point.

I have been coming here since it was Laurel's, then Geoffrey's and now BBH. I so wish I had time to have their food as it looked and smelled delicious. The re-do of the decor is very nice. Sadly, only had time for a couple of cocktails; but boy oh boy were those cocktails good! I had the Dark Krystal - OMG sooo good. The bar tender was knowledgeable and friendly and attentive. Can't wait to go back for dinner! I will be back.

Stopped by post work today for their opening night to the public. Seemed like a nice post work place on Berkeley st. Place was decently full by 6pm. Our group ordered some of their house cocktails and for the most part, everyone enjoyed them. The specialty cocktails are priced at $10 each and there were some intriguing ones to say the least. Definitely worth a try if one is adventurous. Had a couple old fashioneds which was nice. Bartender makes his version by straining out the orange part which is nice not having small pieces of pulp floating around in your drink. For the most part, it seems like a typical restaurant/bar for the Copley area. Nothing too special, only time will tell if it becomes another hangout place or if it distinguishes itself

Just really enjoyed a Saturday dinner here. The staff, from the host to the waiter to the bus boy, were friendly and efficient The food was excellent. Billed as comfort food this isn't your Father's comfort food. Creative and of high quality, everything we tried was tasty and beautifully presented. It is not even pricey We will be back for sure.

Ok let me tell you about this place... Meh! I was a little disappointed... First of all they asked if we had reservations, at 5:00 pm? Really? Oh maybe they could have squeezed us onto one of the 6 empty tables? WTF? I hate when poorly trained staff greet me at the door, but I digress.. The place was beautiful, the crowd at the bar looked like fun packed all the way, lots of hot guys to look at but the food was dismal, I order a dry fig pizza and they weren't kidding when they said DRY, I could not eat more than 1 slice while drinking 2 glasses of water and 2 glasses of wine, boy they could have used a little drizzle of something, my husband ordered the Wellington Meatloaf, it looked ok not very appetizing but he said that it tasted really good, so overall, we won't be back unless we are going there just to have drinks at the bar, again that area looked like fun

Drinks were comped because the bartender forgot about our drink order and we were sitting at the bar along with just a few other people. The place is very nicely decorated and the food is great. Prices are reasonable too.

We made a dinner of the appetizers here before a show. We enjoyed the food very much--especially the Manchego and Chorizo board which was our favorite. We did however feel rather neglected by the wait staff. We sat for almost 10 minutes before being greeted and sat just as long editing for our check. It dud seem that our waitress was working the outside tables as well so it may have been poor planning from manager. But regardless we were disappointed by the service.

We went here during a family reunion. My niece sat and asked for a water...a WATER! She then asked for a wine. She was refused! She was totally sober, but we we were giddy because it was family reuniting after a long time. People get excited! Um... Maybe it was because she was a girl with five guys. Her instant response was, "Is it because I'm not a girl?" This place was sexist. If she was a good looking guy, he would have served her. He knows he would have. I rarely review, but I was moved to in this situation! This place should be careful of the double standard they freely exercise.

Overall, a good experience. Service: attentive Food: good: I had the grilled cheese, which was amazing, with fries, which were way too salty (although the people I dined with were fine with the saltiness). Price: pretty good, although the fountain soda tasted a bit watered down and was $2.50! I agree with other reviewers: this is a huge improvement over Geoffrey's, so hopefully they'll do well!

My fiancee and our friends ate here on a Saturday evening. Staff was very friendly and courteous with great service. Drink menu was robust with a good variety (not to mention the movie based names for the special cocktails which my friend and I found hysterical). We shared fried pickles and cheddar chips - both very tasteful. I had the burger which was good - cooked as ordered. My fiancee had the lobster pot pie which was very tasteful. Great find, definitely a hidden gem in the city.

Have been trying to go to this place since it opened just around the corner from my apartment but it was always packed (for good reason!). Finally snagged two seats at the bar for dinner and drinks a week two ago. Absolutely fantastic. It is rare to find such an eclectic cocktail list with drinks priced at $10 in the Back Bay. They also had an extensive selection of liquors. Our bartender, Sherry, even gave us a sample. Great service. I had the thin crust pizza with figs, Gorgonzola, and prosciutto. It was cooked to perfection. My date had the meatloaf Wellington. It was a huge portion and so good I ended up eating half of his as well as my pizza! We had a little accident and broke a glass and Sherry insisted on having the kitchen remake my pizza in case any glass made it on to my plate. Now that is great service. Awesome decor, great drinks, and fantastic service. 5 stars!

This review is for the drinks as I haven't had food here yet though I'm sure I will soon. This place is a stones throw from work so it's a perfect location for me for an after work drinks place. I like the ambiance, the beer list is pretty good, and cocktails good too. My only complaint is in the winter I wish they had a double door at the entrance or at least a curtain - it's FREEZING every time someone comes in.

$17.00 valet Bartender can only take one drink order at a time. One in the group ordered Barcardi & coke and we could not taste the rum so when we finally got the bartender's attention we told him. He made another drink and we noticed it was not Barcardi and he said they did not have any. Wouldn't you think he would let us know before? Bar area not clean and still had construction dusk on the fixtures. Waiter was very nice but we were not impressed by the food. NY sirlion - hammered to death but still tasted good Fried chicked - nothing special. Would not go back

Had dinner here the other night and have to say it was a great experience from the service (Big shout out to Sarah!) to the food, drink, atmosphere and menu. 1. Service - Sarah was great all around, bubbly, easy going and good personality. Very attentive and was able to pick up on me and my friends out there personality. 2. Food - I had the meatloaf wellington and it was exactly what I would expect. A flavorful loaf of meat entrapped in puff pastry nicely cooked, not greasy at all and sides were flavorful and prepared thoughtfully. My buddy who had the burger said it was one of the best he's had in a while. 3. Drink - Grabbed my classic whiskey sour as a test. Not sure if the sour mix is made in house but there was a good balance between the mix and whiskey which is sometimes hard to come by at some places. 4. Atmosphere - Very relaxed and fun. For me this place is a home run considering its different than most menus in the area and very reasonably priced. Well done Harry!

Came for a girls' night out valentine's day dinner with 4 girlfriends. The hostesses was great; they were willing to accommodate and seat is quickly with our reservation. There were some notable pros: well-designed interior (apparently an upgrade from the previous place), decent food. But the cons - really poor service, prices that didn't match food quality, mismatched menu items - will keep me from returning anytime soon. Decor: The place has that popular "classy cozy but relatively affordable" vibe that a number of Cambridge restaurants have; the decor is simple with clean lines with some home-y touches. Food: I love food, and the menu just didn't make sense! Only one seafood entree and few items that sounded spectacular. My friend has a shellfish allergy and found out all fried items were cooked in the same oil - eew (and how dangerous)! I did get the swordfish and, with a little hot sauce, was pretty satisfied. Service: In one word - awful! The waiter was slower with our table than others around us, and we spent almost 3 hrs there (half of which involved waiting). He brought out some people's entrees before others - a huge pet peeve of mine! - and could have killed my friend by not addressing her allergy problem correctly. He never asked if we wanted water refills, or poured additional wine for us from our bottle. And - perhaps the worst offense - he brought out my friend's molten chocolate dessert without the chocolate-covered strawberries and had the audacity to check her plate for proof when she pointed this out!! The manager also never came around to ask how out experience was, and after the final debacle of working out the payment with our waiter, I gave up. Because I had fantastic company, this restaurant gets a 2. And as I'm always looking for new venues for dinner and drink with grad school friends, it's too bad this just won't work.

We went here for a quick bite to eat before seeing a play at the Lyric Theater. It's perfect for a pre-theater dinner. We got to the restaurant later than planned, so I was worried about getting served in time. But the staff were excellent. I explained we were going to the theater, and they ensured our party of 5 were seated, served and on our way with no problems. Our waiter (Michael) was very friendly and helpful, the food was very good and I was sorry we had to leave in such a rush. The Lyric has a deal with BBH's for 10% off food, which they took off the check without me even having to ask. Will definitely be back next time I go to the Lyric.

Went here last night for drinks and dinner before heading off to paint nite. The staff was so friendly and nice and personable, and the food was delish! We had the margherita pizza which was delicious, I had a Kobe beef slider & tater tots which were also delicious, and the rest of my group had the chicken sandwich, mahi mahi with quinoa salad ,and the house salad with I think tuna, we all totally enjoyed our meals. Nicholas was our waiter and he was so friendly and fun! The style of the restaurant is pretty and cozy! We look forward to coming back here again for dinner sometime! :-) also the drinks are delicious, my sister loved the Katy Perry! :)

I would like to review this place, but I can't. On Saturday, 12/21/13, I tried to use the online reservation system to bring in a party of 11 that evening at 6:00 pm. The system could not handle a party that large so I called the telephone number on the website: 617-424-6711. I called every 15 minutes from 9:30 am to 1:15 pm. The phone was never answered. We ended up at the Back Bay Social Club and had a great time.

Wasn't overly impressed by this restaurant, which is close to my home. We sat at the bar and service was slow - it took over 45 minutes to get our food including an appetizer of 1/2 dozen very small oysters that should have come out quickly and not with the rest of our late-arriving food (or I wouldn't have ordered it). Nothing on the menu really jumped out at me so I opted to order appetizers for my entree - pulled pork sliders and a fish taco - both were horrible - the latter with no flavor whatsoever and with what seemed like a fishstick as the fish portion. My husband ordered fried chicken which actually was extremely good but overall, we wouldn't go back (sad b/c we're looking for a new "place" in our neighborhood - this place isn't it).

Underwhelmed. Sat at the bar (only 2 others at the bar) in a near-empty restaurant and finally was able to order when the bartenders broke their conversation. Asked for hard cider- they had one unheard of brand in a 22oz can. Skipped it. Ordered a salad and hanger steak after reading the menu descriptions to make sure there wasn't anything in either dish I could not or did not want to eat. House salad showed up with shredded carrots and radishes- no mention on the menu. It did mention black pepper croutons. They were plain boring croutons- exactly 4 of them. Hanger steak caprese arrived with polenta (not listed on menu) and the caprese tasted odd- because it was filled with pickled onions. Really? Who makes caprese with picked onions- and fails to mention on the menu. Epic failure in my book. Waiting while they remake my dinner. Yes- I could have asked all the ingredients in each dish but I should not have had to. They are apologetic and accommodating but the whole experience was disappointing.

Mediocre at best, the food took waaaay too long and ended up cold. Granted we came here for New Year's Eve but the experience was awful. For an 8pm reservation we were seated at 9:15 then didn't eat until 10:30. They offered to take back the food before I even tried it, acknowledging it might be cold, which I couldn't believe. I had waited so long already and was staring so I just ate it. Even though they comped a few rounds of drinks for the experience it was just terrible. I'll never come back, giving this 2 stars only because the actual wait staff we had was awesome, just the overall experience was terrible.

I really want to like this place. But man...I've never had a worse brunch experience anywhere! Our server was all over the place, forgetting things left and right. The food was served to one in my group not as described. "Griddled" corn bread served stone cold...yup it was warm at some point. The one shining light was the manager who definitely compensated us for what happened and was truly awesome. This unfortunately doesn't correct the fact that there were problems from service to food quality. I won't be returning unfortunately despite her efforts to smooth things over.

They took the layout from Geoffrey's and made it comfortably modern. I had their house burger which was tasty and not trying too hard. Servers were attentive and the noise level perfect- it had the vibe of a happy, bustling place without being so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. This is a friendly, mid-priced restaurant that is a welcome addition to Back Bay!

Went today with another couple for an early dinner following the matinee at Citi. Seated right away (we had a reservation) then waited, and waited. Finally got water and waited again for the waiter to take our drink order. Waited again for the drinks to arrive. Waited again for the waiter to come back to take appetizer order - we all had soup - how hard is that? Long wait for that to arrive then ANOTHER long wait to even take our dinner order. Food is nothing special. Service was poor due to lack of wait staff - seriously need more than one waiter! While I don't like to be rushed , I don't like to be ignored either. We won't be back - did not stay for coffee or dessert as we didn't have another 1 1/2 hours to wait for them!

So I have been here 5 times now and decided to finally write a review. I like what they did to the space, with the bar on the right side and I really want this place to succeed and to do well. The food has been good, but the service has not been good. I waited to post hoping they would work the kinks out, but... not yet. The food has been consistently good on all of my visits. The swordfish is really outstanding and special, with sour cherries, caramelized onions and squash puree. Really nice dish. Also liked the chicken with the donuts, but it can be a little sweet and one time we got it, it was too salty. The brussels salad is also great, as is the fig pizza. The things they need to work on: Each visit I have had to wait at least 15 minutes to get a drink after sitting down. Even when I was able to get the waiter and order, it still took 10-15 minutes for a draft beer to arrive at my table! (This was every time, not just a one time fluke). I don't know if they need more bartenders, better trained waitstaff or a different system, but I was surprised this has not been corrected. The waitstaff do not seem terribly experienced. Some are friendly, but in general the ones I have had don't seem to know how to multi-task, don't have much to say about the food (except whether they like it or not) and service was slow each time. Not sure if the slowness is a kitchen issue or waitstaff issue, but they should work this out, as I have friends who refuse to come back. I also ordered take out once and they did not seem to have a system down. The host (who was very nice), seemed to have to pack up the food himself and then he had to try to get the bartender's attention for him to ring up the slip so that he could bring it to me. They need a more efficient system for this I think. I was also surprised that with the remodel, they left the bathroom the same. One single bathroom for a large restaurant and bar doesn't make sense. I hope they get it together as this is a place with a good vibe, nice decor and good food, but with some minor issues that can take away from the experience.

The new interior is a huge improvement. The staff is friendly, but the service is way too stuffy for comfort food. The food was a big disappointment all around. My fried chicken was DRENCHED in some sickeningly sweet syrup - I couldn't even eat it. My friends were equally unimpressed - leaving with plates half full. I won't be running back, but might try them for after work drinks in the future.

Awful awful okay fine we have no reservation and I came in with clients and asked about the wait they said 45 minutes and over an hour later they till said we had to wait another 30 minutes at... At least give us a real estimate when we ask

My wife and I tried this place last night and we loved it. The pizza we got was surprisingly awesome. We also got sandwiches which were great too. The decor inside is really neat and makes for a great atmosphere. They also have a very unique drink list and some great beers to select from. Overall, we really liked this place and it is not overly expensive either. It is well priced. If you are looking for a nice night out without breaking the wallet this is a good place to go.

A review for the bar experience. I arrived at 5:30p on Friday and the bar was full, but still room to stand and wait for a seat, which I thought may be a while, lots of office folks camped out. I got a seat eventually. Even after having to shame a yuppie into actually sitting in a seat he maneuvered into instead of just putting his bag on it, even though I had arrived first. First, the staff is friendly, everyone who I spoke to, including the woman at the hostess stand who took my coat and gave me a ticket in response to my inquiry about a place to hang it. I was here to try the drink that I read about in the Improper. It's called 'Tigers love pepper, they hate cinnamon'. It comes with a whole stick of cinnamon, which I commented may get expensive. Have you ever bought a bag of those at Pensey's? They ain't cheap. But, no matter. The artistry wins out here. It was great. When I asked for another drink with mezcal I was introduced to the head mixologist, also friendly and not 'tudey (ahem Drink!). Allowing him license he made me one with gin, good but not my bag. The next one was muddled strawberries and mezcal, margarita style. Excellent! I will have to double check, but I thought the menu said that all the specialty cocktails are $10. The fellow I made chit chat with was drinking a $3 Gansett tall boy. So, there is good prices on both fronts. When I got a seat I tried the fish tacos. Large pieces of fish deep fried or tempura style. They were light and tasty, and the veggie fillings were fresh and good. The tortillas were slightly charred on the flame grill which gave it a really nice taste. I'll be back to try dinner.

Stopped here for a drink during a touristy walk around Copley square. Very friendly waitress who had great cocktail recommendations. DJ played a good amount of Beyoncé and other fabulous, booty-shaking tunes. Great stop for a drink and the margarita flatbread was better than your average.

Had lunch here today... the fried chicken was not what you expect but I loved it. The sauce is maple syrupy - GET IT ON THE SIDE. The waitress suggested this and she was right. On the side you can dunk your donuts (that accompany the chicken) in it and you may only want a little of it. I ate my chicken without it. I know chicken and donuts and maple syrupy sauce sounds wierd but it's sort of like chicken and waffles. On mashed potatoes and some greens. I was happy with it and my friend was happy with her pizza.

915 reservation and its already 930! Oh the humanity! Was seated and they provided a calamari appetizer and apologized for the wait. OK! Made my night already! The place was very busy, happy we had reservations. Had the swordfish, was very good.

Had lunch here with a group of coworkers. I ordered the Latin Wedge salad with chicken. The salad was described as having tomatoes, grilled corn and chorizo. When the salad was served, it turned out to be a half head of iceberg lettuce, maybe 2-3 cherry tomatoes cut in half to make it look like there were more. I had to dig to even find a few pieces of corn. The chicken was cut up and served on the side and had no flavoring to it. But the kicker was... There was no chorizo in my salad. Apparently they decided to lay 3 slices of pepperoni on top of the wedge in place of the chorizo. My coworkers and I all looked at the salad in disbelief. Sliced pepperoni in place of chorizo!!!??? Unacceptable and extremely disappointing.

We walked in at 845pm on a Saturday and got a table right away. Host was prompt and friendly. The layout has changed as the bar is now on the opposite wall with a tv in the middle of the bar. The lighting along the far wall (under the booth seating) in the front seating area was a bit much as it was far brighter than the rest or the restaurants lighting. I observed people that would sit down underneath the lights and would immediately look up. Nothing relaxing about eating under a spotlight. Otherwise the decor was well done and up to par with what Id expect. Upon sitting down we ordered a few beers from the quasi-decent beer menu. There were a few fun beer items I hadn't seen before. The specialty drinks looked adventurous but we did not venture. I have to be honest... the menu for food underwhelmed me. It was simple and expected for back bay/south end eateries. (burger, salads, pizzas, and entrees). Geoffrey's menu was extensive- full of great mixes. I always had a hard time making up my mind because there were so many options that appealed to me. Not so at Harrys. Harry's appetizers/small plates were primarily fish based and for someone who doesn't like shellfish/calamari I was pretty much out of luck. We ordered the fried chicken and the steak. Both were good. Steak seemed to be rather overpriced ($27) but the quality was there for the most part. We would come back for the steak but not for the chicken. We didn't have any strong opinion on the service which I guess is a good thing. It's rare you're ever blown away by the wait staff. Overall this place seems decent. It will definitely appeal to a certain clientele... just not so much the old Geoffrey's customers.

I think this place is great....I've had nothing but great food and service here......ok with the exception of one thing. The hashbrowns at brunch were WAY over spiced with some Cajun spicing....unedible.....but that's it.....red velvet pancakes ....YUM....the swordfish....awesome....chicken sandwich.....awesome.....great fries.....great atmosphere.....I really like it here......I think by reading the reviews from late last year they seem to have definitely worked some kinks out.....I be diggin it.

Had a terrible experience. We had a server that was ignoring us and had no knowledge of the food on the menu. Everytime we asked him to tell us a menu item, he basic response was I've never tried it but I've seen a lot of people order it. Which is inexcusable for a server not to know everything about the food. Overall the food was not very good and not what I would expect from one of Jason Santos' restaurants. The calamari was a clumpy mess without a lot of flavor, the pork belly sliders lacked flavor and were slightly burnt. The biggest problem of the night is when we got a burnt order of the Fried Chicken. It took us to find another server just to point out the issue. Once it was pointed out we got a very cold and uncaring visit from the manager. Who basically checked and said "I heard you had a problem, sorry about that" It took about another 15+ minutes until we got the new order which was better but still not that good in terms of taste. It was overbreaded and lacking flavor. I personally doubt I will return to this restaurant again

I was lucky enough to get a pair of bar seats at Back Bay Harry's for their opening night last Friday. I have to say, the new design is amazing. I could just envision myself popping champagne in a 1940's getup, total Great Gatsby-style. Luckily, my jeans and blazer worked just fine and I settled myself in at the bar. The cocktail list certainly looked interesting but I stuck with my usual, Jack & Coke. What I didn't stick with was my usual pre-meal salad, the Blue Onion just looked too good to pass up. I was right. Seriously people, order this onion. It's like a blooming onion from Outback Steakhouse on delicious steroids. So, so good. On to the entree, I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken since I was already in a fried food haven. Not to worry, healthy people, there appeared to be many green items on the menu, I was just already in weekend-mode. It was Friday, I was ready to indulge. Fried Chicken did not disappoint. I totally ate too much but yes, it was worth every last bite. My boyfriend ordered the Mission Fig Pizza which was also delicious but I was too entertained with my fried chicken to pay much attention to his pizza. We skipped dessert and kept drinking. While I continued to order my usual, I had a fun time ordering the "featured cocktails" for my BF. ARE YOU KIDDING ME WITH THE "DON'T KICK MY PUMPKIN" cocktail? It. Is. Heaven. In. A. Glass. What in the world are they putting in that beverage? Crushed up rainbows if you ask me. Total happiness in a cup. Also interesting: The guy sitting next to us ordered a drink that came with a legit ice ball in it. Like instead of ice cubes, it was a giant ice ball. Total throwback. Next time I go to this place I'm totally wearing a flapper dress. What else--service was great, bartender was knowledgeable, the General Manager even came over to the bar to see how everything was which impressed me. I feel like managers always visit the tables but not the bar. Bathrooms were clean and the kitchen was a open so you can see them cooking (which always makes this germ-o-phobe feel better.) I'll definitely be back--hopefully soon. Highly recommended.

I had a great time here. The food was good; I had the swordfish entree. My husband had the veal special, which he didn't love. It's a great date place that has big windows. It was snowing last night and the place felt so cozy. I gave it 4 stars because the food was a tad over-priced.

Went last night. First off, the room is very nice and I especially appreciated that they installed high end acoustic tile which made for an experience where we could actually hear each other even though it was crowded and people were having fun. This is a place to get the simple stuff, which is done with an eclectic twist. I had the burger which was excellent at $11. My wife had the fried chicken($20) which was good (sauce on the side). the other couple we were with had ribs and clam chowder respectively. The clam chowder was a hit as were the ribs but the ribs came with some unappealing sides. Beers were very reasonable-Bud $5, Gannset $3 and specials at $7. Wine by the glass was $9. Pizza looked very good but we did not have any. We were celebrating and spent $250 including tip for the four of us. Valet was $17. Our server, Rene, was awesome. I would recommend Back Bay Harry's if you want some decent food in a nice atmosphere at a reasonable price. If you want a comfortable night out this is a good spot in the Back Bay/South End. If you want a high end experience there are better choices.

Fried chicken and Brussels sprout salad were absolutely two of the best dishes my party had for lunch. Waitstaff were friendly and efficient during a busy lunch time. I'd recommend a visit.

Sunday Brunch 7 of us came in and it was not crowded. It took over an hour to get food after we ordered it food came out some uncooked and some came out cold and some came out over cooked. Would not go back on a Sunday for Brunch.

I met two girlfriends on a Sunday morning for brunch at Back Bay Harry's. We were served by Mike, and each ordered a cocktail and food. The bloody mary hit the spot. The service was phenomenal. Mike did an amazing job at being attentive without hovering, and his recommendation of the french toast was right on. My friends raved about their choices as well... specifically the sliders. They LOVED those. The atmosphere was nice and the decor was lovely. We will definitely be back.

Good food. Decent place to get a light meal or a drink. The burgers and fries are excellent, as is the chicken sandwich. I prefer to sit on the bar side on one of the tall tables. The menu selection has some good sales, too, and the house made pizza is good. Prices are fair and the service is fine.

Go there.

Pretty good place. I stopped by because i was hungry at lunch time. After stopping in, ordering from the menu, and eating... I realized that i was no longer hungry. This place takes away the hunger.

Being a tourist, the food was just ok.. Actually had better food at the food court in the mall. However, we loved the drinks and had great service from the staff. Spent $100 for two people and still were hungry.

I've only been for cocktails and for Beyonce brunch, and the cocktails here are pretty fabulous. The food at the Beyonce brunch was very disappointing, but I would go back to give them another shot. Maybe the brunch was just an off menu. Read more here: marissagrace.com/reviews…

Cheers!
