I hate to harsh on a beloved (apparently) local business, but this is not only the worst Chinese food I've ever had; it's among the worst food, period, I've ever eaten. I ended up just tossing the Kung Po chicken out. With gristly meat and undercooked vegetables, it was inedible. The chef's special beef was tough and flavorless and was not cooked in the sauce, which had been ladled into the bottom of the take-out container. This place makes Chopsticks, 10 minutes up the road in Williamstown, look like Per Se. Don't waste your time or your money at Chee's.

My God, this was the worst Chinese food I have ever not finished. We heard that this place was the best Chinese restaurant in Adams but "best" is clearly a relative term. Best compared to WHAT? Both of our dinners looked like KFC--the sweet and sour pork combo and the general tso's combo were just hunks of deep fried, brown, battered/breaded, utterly tasteless matter. They didn't taste like pork or chicken. Just deep fried brown blocks of yuck. The pork came with a thimble of wan pink liquid and a piece of pineapple to dip the blobs of KFC into. WTF??!! The service was awful--nonexistent. A guy came in after us, waited 20 mminutes for a menu and left without seeing anyone. We should have been so lucky. This place was the pits.

I thought this place offered run-of-the-mill Americanized Chinese food, with a below-average selection. There is no Mei Fun, there is no Singapore rice noodle, a lot of other dishes that I like to fall back on were not here. The food is, in my opinion, too sweet. There seems to be sugar in most of the sauces. I recognize that some Americans may like that, and that this is the norm in American Chinese restaurants, but I don't like it. What salvaged the meal was that the hot oil (oil soaked in dried chili peppers) was top-notch. I put a lot of it in my fried rice and the chicken with string beans (which, IMHO, is the best option I could find on the menu), and the meal ended up tasting pretty good. I did not like the egg roll, however. I think this place has some things going for it, and I don't think it would be that hard for them to improve to at least a four-star rating. I'd recommend: (1) use less sugar in the sauces (2) try broadening the menu a bit, such as by also offering rice noodle dishes like mei fun and singapore rice noodle (3) try branching out into a little bit more authentic items...maybe try cooking with Chinese broccoli instead of American broccoli...then offer Chicken with Chinese broccoli? Just a few ideas.

I don't know why people are hatin' on Chees because it is THE best. There food is always fresh and they have a wide selection. To answer to some of the other reviews I have eaten here for years and have never gotten sick off of it. I only gave it 4 stars because the restaurant could use some work and they are slow to pick up the phone when placing an order to go. They are super busy, so it is understandable but having to call back a bunch of times to place an order can be frustrating. The food is definitely five stars! I love their homemade sauces, the duck and sweet & sour sauce are always good. You can't find better pork friend rice anywhere and their lo mein's are always my go to. Although they don't have a lot of exotic chinese selections, I think for an American Chinese place this is the best in Northern Berkshire. Definitely worth ordering! In fact I'm ordering it for dinner tonight.

If you are looking for good Chinese keep looking. Everything is full of green peppers and celery. Only thing worth getting is the house rice. Slow delivery and orders calked in to pick up are never ready.

Chees is a great place. I'd recommend getting take out rather then dining in. It seems like every time I dine in they take forever with the food. When I pick up food or have them deliver it seems as though I get my food quicker. The food is fresh and tastes good. I love their sweet and sour sauce. I love how they put pineapple in it. There beef sticks are a risk - sometimes good, sometimes bad. I've never been sick from this place and I've ate here a lot. Not sure why other people have. Its an average place for Chinese food.

I agree with the above statements. This place has to be the worst Chinese I think I will ever have in my life. They shouldn't claim it as Chinese, because they are giving it a bad name. I ordered hot and sour soup which was terrible and had chicken in it, the tofu was over cooked. I also got general tso's chicken the sauce was not good the fried rice wasn't any better either. If you know what good Chinese take out tastes like then you won't like this place!

Chee's has great Gold Fingers and Pork Fried Rice! Great lunch specials also! FYI: I've eaten here probably hundreds of times and have never gotten food poisoning (response to Pete S.'s review)

I will never be going here again; I ordered the Pork Chow Mein thinking i would be getting noodles with thin slices of pork and vegetables with it, but what i got instead was bean sprouts and tiny pieces of ground pork all of this in a broth of somesort. I took one bite and then threw it away.

Chee's made me violently ill on two separate occasions. The first time I figured it was a fluke so I gave them a second chance...I wish I hadn't because their second chance gave me an overnight stay at the gorgeous North Adam's Regional Hospital with food poisoning. I must admit, the food was ok going down and I know a TON of people that swear by this place but I will NOT be giving them another chance. There are plenty of other Chinese food places in the area any way. If you think it is worth the risk go for it...Chee's apparently just doesn't agree with me.

Just a ok, food is much better when u go in and yes much better than any of these buffets, but take is sometimes cold and when I pay 75$ for Chinese I at lease want it hot without the hour wait

Chee's has the reputation of having best Chinese food in Berkshire County. I agree with Danielle their Gold Fingers and Pork Fried rice are amazing, not to mention their boneless spare ribs. I have never had a bad experience with the food, or the service. I have also eaten here hundreds of times over the years and have NEVER gotten food poisoning.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
