Cafeteria - style buffet (all you can eat but the server fills your dish) for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus menu entrées & sandwiches. Food quality surprisingly good for a buffet. Atmosphere is sports bar-like but quieter than you might expect. Noise level was very good for coversations. I went for dinner. Among the several items offered on the buffet, I sampled the rib eye steak, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, seafood bisque, gumbo and stuffed artichoke. The artichoke was particularly good - moist, tasty, not too salty. The steak was not too good - a bit over done for me. There is also a small self-serve salad bar with reasonably good fresh & prepared selections. My only complaint about the salad bar is that you need really long arms to get under the sneeze glass to the back row of food. The wait staff were all young adults but very attentive to the tables making sure we had adequate drink refills and keeping the tables clean. First time visit but I will definitely return.

First time eating here and really enjoyed it. I opted for the gumbo and salad. All you can eat for right at $10 for this great food isn't a bad deal. Everything was very fresh and seasoned perfectly. I will definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu.

The buffet is very reasonably priced and the food is very good. Had the breakfast buffet this morning and it was good. This place will get real popular real fast. You gotta try this new eatery in Slidell. As always mention Troy sent you and get two buffets at the regular price. Enjoy!!!

I will definitely be back, wished I lived closer, especially for breakfast. My daughter and I went for lunch today , I wished it was a day of all my favorites but don't know what's for lunch, maybe I'll call next time and make a special trip out there. Bathroom is especially clean, I hope they keep that up. Only means everything else is clean too. I forgot my cell but next time I will take pictures:))

Had breakfast twice, both were great. Eggs always good. People are friendly. Banana's Foster French Toast is super. The pastries could be fresher. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is the staff seems bothered when you go back for something else. No smiles, extra small portions and they should ask how everything was. Advertised ALL DAY BUFFET, BUT MAYBE ONLY WHAT YOU CAN CARRY ON THE INITIAL TRIP THROUGH THE LINE. Please don't let that stop you from going. Get everything you want on the first trip. Food is good at least for breakfast.

This was my first time here. I just wanted coffee but ended up getting breakfast too. I really liked the coffee, not loved. They had a complimentary coffee station that even had cafe au lait on it! Too weak for me though! I'm used to that good ole thick awlins coffee doll! Anyway, I didn't get too complicated had grits 2 eggs wheat toast and turkey sausage. Tasted just like it was supposed to. And I ate it right up! Service was good and the food came right out. I just wish they had real butter and raw sugar for my coffee. I'm picky but nuttin compares to real butter! Keep the spreads. The only slightly annoying thing was being able to hear people working in the back conversing. Especially if they are cussing and complaining. Need to work on that. My bill came and it cost 7.57 for breakfast. So with tip total 10.00. Just me. A lil steep if ya ask me but I guess peeps have to make money! It was a treat cuZ I never eat breakfast. I'll go back in the future for another special occasion.

Not a favorite. If you are in a jam for time it's better than fast food but if you have a choice Bonnie Cs or Sunrise on second are much better food quality places to go

I've been going to breakfast there about once a week for the last four months. I can't say it's ever been great but lately it's been awful. The service is bad, the waitstaff is rude and I can't remember when they've ever checked to see if my food was too my satisfaction. Asking for eggs over easy is obviously too difficult a task for their line cooks. I can list 10 complete screw ups in the last three visits. It's a shame because they are so close to my house it's very convenient to visit but because of their lack culinary skills and complete indifference from their staff, I won't be back.

Wow, will NEVER go back !! Ok, only 3 other tables of people were there so there should have been no problems !! First of all they brought us, instead of a shrimp po boy, a fish po boy, when they brought the correct one the shrimp were undercooked & mushy & they recycled the fries so instead of bringing us fresh ones for my 4 year old who was starving , they brought us the ones from the first wrong sandwich & of course the fries were ice cold bc they sat out for 20 minutes DISGUSTING, too bad, so close to Oak Harbor, was.so excited, but quickly disappointed.

Been twice for breakfast and enjoyed each visit. Huge selection on the buffet. Best deal in town.

Back in 7/20, I gave this place 4 stars for breakfast. I have been in there place once for dinner last month and I could given the Seafood dinner a 3 star but this review is for tonight - a Thursday, which is probably their steak night since there was rib-eye in the buffet. First, the steak was disgusting. It was obviously put on the grill frozen since the outside was cooked but the inside was raw! I normally eat my steak medium or medium rare but this is raw in the middle like the heat didn't make it to the middle. But it would have been ok if the server and the cook were not very grudging in having another steak cooked medium well. The cook finally did though I can see him not doing anything at the back for a while. On the other hand, the fried veal looked like it was already cooked twice, it looked it's mostly brown overcooked breading and no veal. It looked unappetizing so I did not even try it. Also, the breads were stale - they had cornbread and they were rock solide and my child had a garlic bread which was so chewy. My child chose cookies and cream from the dessert cabinet and the cookie was so soft, it was awful. The salad bar looked sad, greens are wilted and the tuna and chicken salad looked like it has been sitting out for a while. The servers, except for the first plate of food, act like they are being bothered! Anyway, one star for the visit was the fried fish. They know how to fry their fish. Sad as to how fast this restaurant has gone downhill. NOT GOING BACK!

Food was really solid, great comfort food. The desserts I had were a little lack luster with frozen cakes and a weird oreo cream thing that tasted like just whipped cream. The buffet is odd because it's cafeteria style but only because it was my first expirence with this kind of service. Friendly staff and very enjoyable local art atmosphere. Would come back for lunch.

We won't be back... No one greets you and we were only the second table in there at lunchtime. My husband had a burger which was dry..I had the soup and salad. The soup was just Ok and the salad bar was a disappointment. The dressing had fallen in the bucket of ice to keep it cold and it was full of water. The waitress didn't really care. I had to ask for something else. The salad bar had spilled dressing everywhere. And I hate it when they sweep around you. And I agree that the owner/manager and staff should keep there personal conversations in the back. It was disturbing!!

My family and I visited Specks for the first time tonight. Now for clarification purposes this restaurant is new, location wise but its sister location is Speckled T's so I have been there several times and enjoyed the food/service. So now for Specks we were greeted upon entering and felt welcome. It was a Friday night so there was a seafood buffet that included catfish, shrimp, frog legs, oysters, baked fish, baked macaroni, jambalaya pasta, potato salad, cajun rice, corn, green peas a few other items with a host of desserts. The food was seasoned well and tasted great. The kids ate free so we spent 30 bucks with drinks. Customer service was awesome we will definitely visit again soon.

Great breakfast buffet. We've never eaten anything else. Service is great. Coffee is complimentary. We could go back just for the bananas foster alone.

Went here for the first time yesterday, this place is great! Went for the lunch buffet and the food was delicious. Seasoned very well! Love that the staff serves the food for you, much better, more sanitary concept than the usual buffet set-up. The staff was very friendly and generous when serving the portions and welcomed my friend and I to come back up try more! So happy to have this restaurant here now! Can't wait to go back again! The only improvement could be the desserts. They weren't very fresh. Which was a bummer because I was excited to try them. The food on the buffet is spectacular though! Do yourself a favor and eat here! :)
