THIS Copeland's is pretty good. This store is usually pretty clean and friendly. My family and I often come here for lunch and we get quick and friendly service. The absolute BEST dish at Copeland's is the Shrimp Ducky and it's all I ever get. I like their etouffee, but I like the shrimp ducky better. It's tasty with a nice full and rich flavor. Their stuffed mushrooms are also very good. Not the BEST I've ever had, but pretty darn good.

I haven't been to Coplands in a long time (I'm talking years) & I was really surprised! They are currently under renovations and the renovations are gorgeous!!! The service was excellent!!! Our server was very suggestive and she wasn't overly chatty to our table. We didn't sit In the new section but the restaurant looks amazing with the new addition updated!!! The atmosphere was very quiet and private. The manager stopped by our table and gave us our birthday deserts. Which were free on our birthday! The onion mum was very good. We also got another appetizer which was fried catfish stuffed with crabmeat and shrimp with a white cream sauce. I got the chicken parmigiana and it was amazing like usual!! My grandma got the ouey gooey grilled cheese and crabmeat stuffed baked potato and it was so good!!! Everything was cooked fresh and tasted amazing!!! Service amazing, food amazing, atmosphere amazing, I'm going to have to start coming here on a regular!!! Very impressed!

Enjoyed lunch with a large group of women. The service was excellent for 17 women. Imagine serving a group of older women and everybody being pleased. Good food, great drinks but bills came out slowly. All in all, thank you Copeland's!

My family comes here whenever we all get together because there is something GOOD for everyone. I have never been disappointed in the quality, quantity or taste of any food I have eaten. Service is consistently good and the atmosphere is right for my family. Yes, you will pay a little more than most places in Slidell but, for us, it's worth it.

We tried the Slidell place when our favorite, "The Palmetto" was closed for a private reception. Copeland's was full to overflowing at 4:00 PM on Saturday, waiting areas full, too. We decided to eat in the bar, which is very nice. Ambient noise was very loud, difficult to converse with waitress. I had fried shrimp platter; onion strings were good, but the shrimp had a strange texture and taste. Wife ordered a couple items, was served the wrong thing. Hers was not very good, either. She got wrong beverage, too. I guess we'll keep trying Copeland's every decade or so, to see if there is nay improvement. There are better restaurants in every direction. Rick

We were seated quickly but the wait time for actually receiving our food was ridiculous. Overall, everything tasted good....especially the white chocolate strawberry cheesecake.

My boyfriend and I came in to have the steak. When it was brought to our table we were shocked by the low quality of meat they used... Especially for the price of $85 for 2 rib eyes, 2 salads and a glass of wine. The steak was full of fat and tasted terrible I had even asked for ranch to try and make the steak taste a little better, that didn't work. He and I have been eating here our whole lives and it's gone down hill quick. We won't be back.

this seems to be the nicest place to eat in the area..... personally I liked another place better in the area... it wasn't bad though and I did love my drink here. an extra star just for the drink! or maybe I just didn't order right? my shrimp were delicious but they know their shrimp down here......

First time ever having gumbo. Wow, that was amazing. I ordered the blackened chicken and it was so good. I would definitely order that again. kid's meals were large and everybody loved the food.

Place was packed & loud, very loud. Only complaint about the place is the very low lighting. Had to use my iphone as flashlight to read menu & I'm only 49 yrs old without glasses. For franchise type restaurant, food was good & Ok since menu is very comprehensive. Recommend fish of the day - fresh & tasty ( blackened drum fish). Fried seafood platter was just Ok, shrimps were small & not fresh caught type. Crawfish pasts was very tasty compared to the other 2 pasta dishes which had the same type of buttery cheese sauce, only difference one had stuffed fried jumbo shrimps & the other had fried eggplants. We went to Slidell instead of New Orleans due to distance for our 1st night staying at Gulfport, MS. I noticed the Copelands in NOLA had higher rating. Overall it was Ok to good, solid B in my book. They had some awesome looking cheesecakes, but we did not try.

Came based off Yelp reviews on my way home from Destin. For an appetizer had the Hot Crab Claws that was creamy delish!! For my meal I chose a lighter dish, the Pecan Crusted Catfish which was very filling. My husband ordered the Cajun Gumbo Yaya and Steak Labouchere both were very good. My son ordered the Barbecue Cheddar Burger. All were very satisfied and not at all disappointed!! I would highly recommend this place & most definitely come back!!

Dear Copeland's of N'awlins, Eggplant Pirouge is the stuff dreams are made of. It really is. I dream of that deliciousness. The thinly sliced fried eggplant piled way up high atop of angel hair pasta and then...THEN. The sauce. Au gratin sauce with shrimp and crab claws? Nice. Very nice. I know it's a chain but it is a local chain, which I like, and the food is pretty good. The atmosphere at this particular location is fun and upbeat and I always have a nice time here. I recommend the Artichoke and Spinich Dip, Crabcakes and Shrimp Alfredo, Shrimp and Tasso Pasta and of course, my favorite Egglant Pirouge. The Sunday brunch is a winner here as well!

The food here is amazing! The price is acceptable for the quality/portion of food. We had a small issue with the waitress misunderstanding that I wanted green beans and that my date wanted to add an order of mac & cheese - but had the kitchen staff not told me that my side dish was not on the ticket, I never would have known! The green beans arrived within minutes of my stating that they were missing. We had Bayou Broccoli - heavenly fried balls of cheese and broccoli bits. We also ordered the crawfish bread and it was just as phenomenal! My date ordered the veal, with an extra slice of veal, and an additional side of loaded macaroni & cheese (with lots of cheese, bacon bits, and green onion). I had the petite filet with a side of green beans - these are southern style green beans, cooked down and soft, slathered in gravy. We were both thrilled with our food and boxed half our meals so we could celebrate my date's birthday with the banana foster. I asked the waitress for a candle, and she brought out a beautiful sparkler and quietly wished my date a happy birthday! It was perfect! We did learn that if you sign up for the Copeland's rewards program ($10 to join), you get $15 for joining, a free entree on your birthday, and a free dessert on your renewal date.

Service here is great even when there is a crowd. This was probably my 30th visit here. Well prepared NOLA dishes with good steaks too. They offer a Prime top sirloin, thick cut that comes from the kitchen in sizzling butter This time I had the 1/2 pound hickory bbq burger. It comes with coursely chopped onions, a slab of cheddar and a not too sweet bbq sauce. Burgers cooked to order..I got mine medium rare. .ha....just because I can here.. I tried my wife's chicken fettuccine. .not bad but I am not a fan of it anyway. I was mostly interested in the pounded chicken breast..fried crisp and golden. It is offered blackened also. Well stocked bar and great desserts. If you like cheesecske this IS the place to go. Al certainly made sure his namesake restaurant would keep up it's reputation of quality food and service.

A mixed bag, this is. Waitress service was OK - she was really trying. I get the feeling that the rest of the working of the restaurant are not managed well. Food was really good - delicious Alfredo sauce on shrimp&crabcake; surprisingly good "light" cheesecake. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food a lot. The waitress probably refilled my drink 5 times, without my asking. So the food and the waitress were good - but the rest of the place is strange. One of us ordered a martini with two olives. It took forever to arrive - with no olives. The staff tried to adjust - they brought some crackers when asked, so that was a nice thing - but the crackers were stale. Went to bathroom before the meal and noticed the TP was almost out. So I told the three young ladies at the front door about it - they were not busy because no one was in line. After the meal I had to tell them that there was no TP at all - in fact someone had put some paper towels next to the toilet . The same three young ladies were standing at the front, with nothing to do. I asked if they remembered, and got excuses. Finally I asked for a roll of TP - they finally came alive, but instead of giving me the TP, they ran off to find other staff. So: waitress - good but not supported by the rest of the restaurant Food - yummy Bar - makes drinks but does not understand details Other staff - disorganized Conclusion - I bet the management thinks that the food is the only thing they need to pay attention to. Wrong. a restaurant is a lot of moving parts that need to be coordinated. That coordination is not being done well at this location.

I love Copeland's. I have loved the food and atmosphere since I was a child. It is a fun place that straddles the fence between trendy and gaudy, and I mean that in a good way! On this visit we sat in the bar area. Our server was prompt, friendly, and gave great recommendations. She mixed two great cocktails and we knew it was going to be a good night. We tried the "Two can dine for $29" and were completely satisfied. The *woodfire grilled chicken and yams* were amazing!!! You owe it to yourself to try this dish. We also stuffed ourselves with spinach and artichoke dip and cheesecake for dessert. Two cocktails, appetizer, two great entrees, and a slice of cheesecake teamed up with excellent service. $50. Including a decent tip. For the quality and quantity, it is a great deal.

Food was amazing... But service was absolutely horrible. It took 15 mins to get drinks and we had to acknowledge a manager.. We never officially had a waitress nor were we greeted... I would come back again for the food, but the service was NOT good

So disappointing. We got seated right away which was nice since we called ahead. We ordered the Crab Begneit as an appetizer which turned out to be a breaded crab ball. Not light and airy and not a lot of crab. For dinner we had crawfish étuffe which was average and I had the shrimp creole which was good. The service was really lacking. There were plenty of servers but they didn't seem to know what to do. We had to ask for water and when our app came we had to ask for silverware. Hubby ordered a cranberry and vodka with lime and he had to go to the bar to get his own lime. You can get better service at Waffle House! For dessert I ordered the much talked about banana foster to be told they were out of bananas. Sigh. I suggest eating elsewhere in Slidell.

Had heard a lot of good things about Copelands, but was severely underwhelmed upon visiting for the first time. Meat was over-cooked, red beans and rice were too salty. Server was inattentive and Katy Perry and Niki Minaj music playing on the speakers was weirdly incongruent with the setting. I want to schedule a trip back because I've heard so many good things, but I've also heard from many Slidell residents that this Copelands location is not the one to go to.

Restaurant is very nice & a little on the upscale side but not too fancy. Definitely one of the nicest in Slidell though. Service is really good (though my party had to wait 30 minutes even with a reservation). The food is also good with great presentation. I recommend trying the veal dinner

I'm only NOT giving 5 stars because my server never gave me his name. Other than that, we received great service and drinks at the bar. Our appetizers and our meal were impeccable. The individual taste of everything was delicious. We will return.

Really nice atmosphere. Friendly, efficient service. Nice variety of food. I wish they would rotate the menu more often. Having been there several times, I am looking for more variety. Portion size is great. We brought friends that were visiting from Texas and looking for authentic Cajun food. Copeland's delivered a very nice meal for all of us. The only suggestion I would have is to increase the variety of beers available. While I like Abita Amber, I also like darker beers and some variety. There are a LOT of great local varieties from Abita, Andygator, Macchiato and other NOLA Irish Channel Stout just to mention a few. Some of the darker beers pair better with sea food than their lighter cousins.

I could really sum up this entire review with one word: YUM!!!!! But that may not help you all that much. I have never even heard of Copeland's before but my 24-year-old daughter wanted gumbo while we were here (we don't live too far, we live in Mobile) and a search for gumbo in Slidell yielded this as a good option. This review is for those who are like me, and never have heard of them. To begin with, the restaurant is decorated a la New Orleans, with iron looking railings and the decorative metal ceiling tiles that you see along the Gulf Coast from Louisiana to Mobile. You know how Olive Garden's decor looks very Italian, like the fake frescoes and stuff? Well think that but think New Orleans. We were seated immediately, even though the place was hopping. The waitress was mostly attentive. I never did get a refill on my coke, but I did have a cocktail to start with so maybe she figured I was liquidfied. lol! Speaking of which, she told us about the lemon drop drink, but failed to tell me it was a martini. I'm glad she didn't tell me that because I'm not a martini fan. I love anything lemon, so I happily told her I'd love to have one. Man oh man! That thing was amazing. This martini is made with vodka and if you're like me and appreciate lemon, period, I highly recommend it. The one thing I didn't like, was that she didn't leave the shakier with me. There was still liquid in the shaker and most restaurants leave that at the table. I'm not sure why they do that. We ordered an appetizer, the Spicy Crawfish Cheese Fries. OH.MY.GAWD. That was amazing! I wanted to try something that was completely out of my comfort zone and crawfish and french fries sounded like the right pick. Oh boy was it ever the right pick?! We each had a bowl of soup. My daughter got the Cajun Gumbo Ya Ya, which she said was "a taste of heaven". I got the Corn and Crab Bisque, which was also amazing. I will say that if you like that and you live along the Gulf Coast, you simply MUST try Cheryl's Cafe and Market in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Her Crawfish Bisque (not crab) is frequently imitated, but never duplicated. Finally my daughter's entree was Cajun Crawfish Pasta, which she said was absolutely amazing and I got the Crab-stuffed Shrimp Alfredo, which was also just as amazing. To be honest, I wanted several things on the menu, it was difficult to settle on and my daughter said the same. They have so many to choose from! I really have to admit that this place was the most delicious restaurant I've been to in a long time. I think the last time I enjoyed a dinner so much was in California at Moquecas in Oxnard. Besides when I go to Cheryl's for the soup, of course. ;) The bottom line? It's a great restaurant and I highly recommend it. Just fair warning that the lemon drop is small compared to their other drinks and since you don't get the shaker... you just need to be aware of that. Oh and the bathroom was very clean. As I've mentioned in other reviews, I look at it like this: if they can't keep the bathroom clean, what else are they not keeping clean? Know what I'm saying?

It's been probably 7 years since I have been to Copeland's with a history of providing consistently good seafood at a good price in a fun atmosphere. On this visit we found a restaurant that is a shadow of its former self. The food was okay but subpar for a southern Louisiana restaurant. Good place for a beer and starters but there are better places if you want a great seafood dinner.

Living in Hattiesburg I really hated this place. You had a bunch of dopey college kids and the food was never that impressive. For a long time like 8 years I never wanted to go here. I have to say i was pleasantly suprised the last 2 times I went here. Lol on both visits I had the crayfish fries. Those are pretty good. Cheesy creamy and delicious. My wife had the Cobb salad and it was pretty big. With those two items I had enough for 4 meals. Damn mother in law ate my fries I'm kinda mad. But super good I'll Def be back

Copeland's was recommended by the owners of the campground we were staying at. They gave us a coupon for an appetizer. We ordered crab claws based on their suggestion. They were good, not great. I ordered shrimp Alfredo with crab cakes. Normally they put the crab cakes on top of the Alfredo. According to the picture in the menu, they put a small amount of sauce on top. I had looked at Yelp reviews and saw another picture that it was covered in sauce. I asked for my crab cakes on the side. The Alfredo was not the typical mild creamy sauce. It had a little kick to it. Overall, the meal was good. I took home cheesecake which was very good but overpriced at $7.95.

One of my favorite Cajun chain restaurants. The spinach and artichoke dip is fantastic and I love the corn and crab bisque. My favorite entree is the crab cake and angel hair pasta. My husband loves the blacken chicken. Their lemon drop martinis is one of the best, not too sweet, yet not too sour! I am a little disappointed they did away with their strawberry shortcake dessert, but I did enjoy their red velvet cheesecake! They have recently remodeled and the renovations look great, however I think they have raised all their prices to pay for the renovations. The food prices seemed to have gone up a few dollars. Service is good, not great, but the food makes up for it. The portions are big enough to share or to take home for another meal, so I think it's definitely worth it!

Great experience, the food was wonderful. The martinis were great. We had the onion petals, shrimp and tasso and eggplant pirague.

Well this is my 2nd review and my experience was much better. My waitress was attentive and the food was great. I had the broccoli bayou ball. Now only in Louisiana can they fry veggies and make them taste oh so good. The bayou ball consists of broccoli, bacon, and cheese with tiger sauce......it was delicious. I also had the blackened crab cakes with remoulade sauce which was very flavorful and my all time favorite the onion mum. I shared all that with my bf we also shared the category 5 drink. Overall I had a pleasant experience. I will have to visit again before I give Copeland another star consistency means a lot to me

Copeland's is an excellent place to take a date or your family. I took my wife and kids to this location. The restaurant is kid friendly. This restaurant has a bar area and a dining area. Reasonable food prices and exceptional service. There is a dessert case once you walk in and the selection looked very delicious. Unfortunately I had alternative dessert plans prior to coming this visit, so I will not have a dessert review this time. We ordered the bayou broccoli, they're ping pong ball size appetizer, broccoli and cheese balls breaded and fried served with a dipping sauce that has just the right amount of horseradish. I ordered the shrimp boil and it was delicious with a little kick. My wife ordered the gooey grilled cheese sandwich made with four cheeses. Excellent choice of bread for the sandwich and was a great pair with a cup of their tomato bisque. My 2 school age girls birth ordered the chicken tenders and Mac'n'cheese. I didn't taste it but it must have been good because they ate it pretty quick. It wasn't on the menu but they were very accommodating on preparing a side of buttered noodles for my 2 yr old, a little heavy on the butter but she didn't seem to mind. The restroom was well maintained. I will write another review with another dish they are known for and dessert.

I went to Copeland's with my daughter and granddaughter. We had 2 appetizers and 3 entrees and all 5 dishes were too salty. I have been here on numerous occasions but was extremely disappointed tonight.

Nice place to eat when you want something different that's not a national chain. Prices are fair, food is always good, not amazing but good, but the noise seems to be an issue at time. I know it's due to the age of the building, but it's not designed to reduce sound. Overall, great place to eat, not the best, but a solid place for a nice night out.

  • Lindsey B.

This was at one point the place to eat in Slidell. Over the past few years, they aren't living up to their original standards. Dishes are not consistent and quality has decreased. However, the stuffed mushrooms while always be a top pick for me.

  • Matthew P.

Food was amazing. The red beans and rice were the best I have had. The catfish was average but tarter sauce was spectacular. Desert is a must as the cheesecake is heavenly. The greatest fault of this restaurant is their waitstaff. Drinks were empty for over 10mins. Food was delivered and then ignored by waiter.

  • Erica P.

We stopped here for lunch takeout on a road trip back to Texas. The food was delicious! Very conveniently put in easy-to-manage-in-the-car containers. We got the gumbo and the red beans and rice. Very tasty! The buffalo spring rolls are one of a kind. My husband loved them.

Decided to give Copeland's a try based on some recommendations from friends and the reviews on yelp. Atmosphere: 5 Stars - Was great and would be wonderful for a large party or to watch a sporting event. Service: 3 Stars - average at best, I had to continually ask for beverage refills, my waitress could not answer simple questions about the menu items, and she forgot to deliver a portion of my wife's meal and had to be reminded. Food: 3 Stars: Not bad but nothing that would warrant more than 3 stars. Price: 3 Stars: About average, except the tea was $2.95....a bit high.

Ordered the eggplant and chicken Parmesan. Taste was fine but the chicken was lacking in size. Carrot cake was dry. Service was slow. Maybe they had an off night?

I thought this place had ok food. I have eaten here a lot and I think all the food is pretty much the same as I think it is a chain. Actually their Red Beans taste just like the ones at Popeye's so I guess. Lol honestly its just ok.

One of the best Copelands in the area. The food is consistent and well prepared. On this occasion I took my mother out for an early mothers day dinner. We had the shrimp and crabcake pasta my father had the thin fried catfish both were excellent. The Copelands in New Orleans and Metairie are overcrowded, inconsistent with terrible service. This one none of that was true.

  • Matt T.

The menu here is massive, so it was hard choosing, but we went with some lunch choices for about $12. Grilled catfish, red beans and rice. Had a salad with home made 1000 island. You can't really get that in Ohio where I'm from. The bartender was awesome - she had all the people at the bar and the tables around it but managed to handle it all and do it with a smile. Service + quality food + price gets you 5 stars.

  • Melanie J.

Went here while on business travel and they were surprisingly very accomidating for a vegetarian (who doesn't eat fish, lol). They made me the chicken alfredo with spinach instead and it was really very delicious. To top it off they didn't charge me the full price of the chicken alfredo! The menu is creative, the service is nice and the prices are great.

This was our first visit to a Copelands and was disappointing . Their special $13 shrimp and crab remoulade salad was a disappointment. The dressing was good but it had only 3 small shrimp and barely any crab on it. Grilled blackened chicken breast was good but who can't do a decent job of that? Spotty service and not worth the hour it took out of our trip.

  • Doug S.

I've always loved this place, it can be a great date spot. The food is great, I always get a steak which is brought to the table still sizzling, the Crab claws are amazing and the service is always good. The desserts are fantastic as well......a must go.

Pretty good place to eat. I haven't been here in quite some time and honestly can't remember what I even had other than it was some kind of shrimp creole but I recall that it was pretty good. For a chain restaurant it's really not bad, but I think that you could find a lot better local joints in this area that are even superior to here.

    (3)

Lots of Menu choices. They even have some boiled shrimp right now. My wife loves the chop salad and my favorite is Catfish Ricochet. Service is not the greatest but is above average

I love Copelands. The atmosphere is great as well as the food and service. The spinach and artichoke dip with bow ties is a delicious appetizer. Recently, I have tried two items from their light menu. The catfish and shrimp creole is YUMMY, and sometimes I feel that I'm eating something fattening because it's that good. Also, their apple almond salad is very good and you can also order that as an entree. Their pasta is delicious as well. Basically, you can't go wrong with anything you order. Drink menu is great too!

I always get the filet or the fried crawfish tails. The crawfish Is breaded perfect and fried on top of a huge pile of shoestring fries, which is on top of a big crispy roll. It's a huge plate of food. I've never finished it. The steak was very good. Only thing about the filet is I always find myself wanting more. It comes with a medium/small size baked tater. The steak was asked to be cooked medium. But it was really done. My gf got the veal and said it was fantastic. Hope this helps someone.

Copeland's is so good! I have a lot of favorites when we go and it's difficult for me to choose what I want. The menu is pretty extensive so there's something for everyone. One appetizer I always have to get is the artichoke and spinach dip. A lot of restaurants have the standardized artichoke and spinach dip and the quality can vary from restaurant to restaurant. Copeland's artichoke and spinach dip is excellent and one thing that makes it stand out from the rest is that it isn't served with chips, but it's served with fried bow-tie pasta. It's so easy to eat the entire thing. The Corn and Crab Bisque is a favorite since it's so creamy and tasty. Most of the entrees are huge so if you want a big meal, this is the place to go. If you've got a small stomach like me, they also have the option of 'tasting plates' which are smaller versions of their entrees and they're cute and perfect. Of course, the desserts here are amazing. Copeland's is known for their cheesecake of which they have several toppings for. If you're not into cheesecake, they have banana's foster and the tall cakes which are in fact, impressively tall. It can get really busy so you can make reservations if you like. I've never had a bad experience here. You can go for a casual dinner or dress up a bit.

Stopped here driving from Orlando, Fl. To Phoenix, Az. Waitress was awesome, very southern belle! Very helpful at recommending New Orleans cuisine specials. Husband had blackened catfish, I had. Shrimp PoBoy, both were wonderful. Their signature biscuits were brought to us first with a butter melt on top. Very flakey and delicious. We did not have room for the cheesecake, if I ever get back I would like to have the "King Cheesecake.". Maybe that's all I will have on that visit. Cost was in the range of $30 plus, maybe a little costly for lunch, however, we wanted NOLA authentic cuisine. That it was.

Terrible service. Waited over hour for seating despite reservation. Were told we could have to wait up to another hour. Bar tender knows no difference in wines, ordered Pinot, got Cabernet. Food was below par. They ran out of "steak butter" and did not mention...instead brought out garlic on steak. Forgot to bring out items. Crab cakes were a dark mess, over spiced, hamburger-looking patty. They did comp two steaks and dessert. (still didn't make up for the mess of a meal and poor experience.)

Great place! Lots of places to sit. I went with my friend on a Friday night. Not a long wait at all. I had the crawfish etouffee, which was delicious. I highly recommend it.

Yes the food is fabulous (especially the bow tie pasta), but the wait leaves much to be desired. It's not the staff or the food that's the issue lately. In my opinion, it's the lack of staff that causes the trickle down effect. A thirty minute wait is really 40-45. But then u get to your table and find out that the family at the next table has been waiting for 1 1/2 hours to place their order! "No clean dishes" the wait staff explained; and not enough staff to wash them to serve the drinks and meals. Really? We were outta there. AND it's not the first time they've had real issues like running out of food... Something really wrong is happening there. They've lost a customer in me, for now anyway.

Good for a chain, but why would you eat chain cajun food in Louisiana? I didn't have anything to complain about, but the only reason I went was coworkers insisted. Our waitress was very friendly, and recommended a local place for dinner for the next night.

This will forever be one of the New Orleans greats. Best app is the Spinach and Artichoke. In fact, it's the best spinach and artichoke ever! No where else serves I with fried bow tie pasta instead of boring chips! Chicken Alfredo and chicken parm is a definate must. Filet mignon, ricochet catfish, and praline cheesecake never fail either.

Really good food and service, I have eaten there around 5 times and can't complain at all.

If you are in the mood for good seafood, this is the place to go. We lucked out as it was a Tuesday and they have happy hour all night long ($5 martinis) and some of their appetizers are only $5. The spinach and artichoke dip is really good but as it is served with fried bow tie pasta, it is extremely filling. The entrees are huge so you might want to skip the apps. I ordered the fish with the crawfish etoufee and I asked for the redfish instead of the fish of the day. At $23, the redfish is quite pricey but it was delicious and fresh. The only downside was the sauce which was way too salty. The side dishes of sweet potatoes and smothered green beans are oh so southern and done quite well. If you want to save room for cheesecake, try a small plate instead of an entree!

Yumm-EE A bit pricey but you get a lot of food for your money. I ordered the fried seafood platter and had enough for dinner and to feed three of us lunch the next day. Wait staff was attentive and friendly, even the busboy asked if he could get us anything as he was clearing the table. This was the first time I has been in slidell and if I find myself their again will definelty go back

Jambalaya with bow tie pasta is fantastic. Skillet served corn bread is also a favorite! Wish I had room for the Cheesecake! One of the nicer dining choices in Slidell.

What the heck was Greg doing in Louisiana you ask? Visiting my wife's family. This is a chain restaurant for the area and it serves dependable southern/cajun cuisine. I had an alligator Po' Boy that was adequate. The hush puppies were actually pretty darn good.

Copelands is the restaurant we take our family when they visit from out of town. The atmosphere is very cozy and the people and service always meet and exceeds expectations. I enjoy the cheesecake the most; so the rest of the family orders off the menu I only order the CK and coffee. That's enough to fill me up. Everything on the menu is good, the prices are a bit high but not too bad for an occasional visit.

I really found the food to be good, but a bit pricey. I wish I had a friend that had a boat and we could crawfish together, then come in for a boil. That would sure save me money, but with no friend like that, we ventured to Copeland's in Slidell. Etoufee was outstanding and the gumbo was amazing. We really ate well at this place, and dessert was no exception. (Bananas Foster Cheesecake!) I wish it weren't so pricey, but hey, while traveling we felt it was okay to make that exception.

This was recommended by the locals as a good place to grab a bite to eat. It's a chain I know, but it was still recommended as a good place to go. I sat at the bar and I think that was the problem. My silverware was dirty, and I am talking chunks of grossness like it was never washed. The bar was sticky and nasty as well. Granite has to be sealed every now and then. This looked liked it had not been cleaned in days or weeks. A nasty bar towel in cold nasty water is not cleaning. Hot water and soap people. The food was good, it took forever but it was good.

Great food! We like try new places when on vacation, and this one did not disappoint. The poboy shrimp sandwich was very good.
