A strong, solid 4 for this surprising gem in Slidell. When my S.O. moved out to Slidell, I relegated myself to the idea that most date nights would be spent at Chili's or Outback--so when we happened upon Chesterfields on Halloween night we were very surprised to say the least. The interior was nice and spacious, the service was prompt and friendly, and the food was very good with nice portion sizes. Our server was the perfect ratio of attentive without being overbearing or cheerful in a weird, "corporate chain restaurant" kind of way. He brought out some jalapeno cornbread to start our meal which was really, really good (just wish it had been warm.) I can't remember the name of the po-boy I ordered but it had shrimp, roast beef debris gravy and cheese AKA a heart attack on a bun, but so yummy. My date had the veggie burger which earned an elusive and coveted 10. A great vegetarian pro-tip: any of the burgers on the menu can be ordered with a veggie patty, which opens up nice variety for the non-meat eaters out there. It's conveniently located right off of Gause Blvd. and has ample parking room out front.

I had a pretty good experience. I had the shrimp basket with onion rings. Crab claws for an appetizer. My favorite drink-margarita on the rocks. Great service.

Great place, awesome atmosphere. Nice bar with many large TVs- great spot to watch the game! Seafood stuffed potato is to die for! ... and I can't leave this place without a cookies & cream martini for dessert! Visited today, Godfrey was our bartender. Kept us laughing and the service was excellent. Perfect for lunch & dinner, also noticed two private rooms for big parties. Occasionally has great specials; that night they were offering a "Party on the Patio" which offered live music, 2-for-1 drink & appetizer specials. I would have loved to attend, but I had school. Next time!

My boyfriend and I ventured to Slidell yesterday and we stopped at this spot. The waiter was extremely helpful and he is right..the only thing that is good is that long ass piece of cheese bread, the pasta, and burgers. The seafood poboy was waaaaaaaayyy to salty (Yuck), but the rest was great!!

while on vacation we love to try new restaurants.lets just say this one was NOT worth trying.service was bad, restrooms were nasty and food was even worse and omg the cost EXPENSIVE.i will say they have GREAT jalapeno muffins that they give you for FREE but after the first plate you have to pay for them.

A great alternative to American chains, such as: Chili's, TGIF, Applebees, etc. The drinks are pretty good and sometimes have a BOGO special. I've tried the burger, fried shrimp, and pasta and can't say that I was disappointed. I always go with big groups, and no one ever orders anything that disappoints. Great place to try!

The only thing that's good is the swamp fries. We've visited this place at least 3 times, since it's close to our house and looks decent enough from the outside..but we have yet to find anything that's good to eat except for the swamp fries. The drinks are even worse, i ordered a Pina colada the last time and it tasted like the mix you buy from the grocery store. Will only order the fries to go if i get a craving.

Loved this place! Reasonable prices, swamp fries are AMAZING, the turtle soup was so good and all the burger choices were YUM!!! The wait staff was also really good! Plan on coming back! P.s. and you get free jalapeño cornbread!

Omg! We used to love this place ! Tonight we went for dinner and my husband and I clearly saw what was a spider crawling in his coleslaw. We alerted our waitress and she insulted our intelligence by explaining how pepper corns and spices look like bugs! We insisted that it was a spider but she had stirred up the cole slaw by this point. She asked if we wanted to speak to the manager and we said yes, she came back and said he too busy in the kitchen. So I asked what his name was and she ran back to the kitchen to try to get him . We were walking out and she wanted us to wait for him .... Really?! She said that she could get us a new cole slaw?! Uh no thanks as that's what the spider was in!!!!

Darn good eatin'. Haven't had a substandard meal yet. They will even slightly alter the menu on request ex. Instead of Philly cheese steak poboy, I liked the philly grilled chicken cheese steak, yum. Great service too. Reasonable prices.

We came in with a party of 16 this past Wednesday. We called ahead and when we arrived, no one knew we were coming. The girl that sat us in the room said "Yall can sit there, but its gonna be hot" and walked to seat us. That is not how you greet people. We had a blonde girl in a gray shirt as our waitress. I understand large parties are hard to wait on. We literally waited 20 Minutes to receive our drinks after we ordered them. People were walking to the bar to find her because we waited so long. She didnt acknowledge the people that joined us, since we all didnt show up at the same time. She might have had other tables, but if that was the case then she could have had some help. Once we ordered the food, we had to beg for refills. When our food came, she had help. Thank god! On top of everything, IT WAS SCORCHING HOT! Fanning ourselves and eating hot food is not a good experience. Our server never prebussed. Dishes beyond days on the table. The point I got, never go to this place with a large party. They neglect you. They should have had a server with us being their only table, OR assigned 2 servers. Not a good experience. Food was good, none the less. That's why they got two stars instead of one.

  • Ashton B.

Food is alway good... But, don't count on getting exactly what you ordered! There will always be a slight variance to what you ordered... But, I will say it's going to be good and hot!

Service was great. Food was awesome. I had the stuffed fresh catch. The choices were fresh Tuna and Mahi, I chose Mahi. It was scrumptious. The bar amaretto sour was delish and the service was very nice. I will be back when visiting Hattiesburg!

Service was terrible. Only 6 tables had guests and once I finally got my Luke warm dinner I never so my server again until I was done eating and had been waiting for several minutes. The poor hostess was working harder than anyone there Not sure if I would go back but would like to try other items on the menu

Swamp fries were awesome...does it get much better than a mix of fries, gravy, and cheese? The chicken salad sandwich was homemade which and was good. It is served chunky instead of the usual shredded chicken salad. The sandwich got messy but that didn't bother me. Got the Mac and cheese for my side and it was very delicious. Nice change of pace from fries. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone in search of a reliable, delicious, and affordable sit down meal.

Chesterfield's is great. I love the atmosphere and modern decor here. There is a beautiful bar that's really nice to sit at for football games, and there's also shaded outdoor dining when the weather permits. The food is consistently great. Things you can't go wrong with: Appetizers-Crabby Cheese Bread (French bread covered in crabmeat and cheese), Onion rings, swamp fries (fries covered in roast beef debris, rotel cheese, brown gravy, sour cream and green onions...yum!) Usually I'll get a burger here but the seafood pastas are all very good. My favorite burger is the Firecracker. It's got onion rings, fried jalapeños, pepper jack cheese and spicy ranch. It's really spicy and really good! You should give Chesterfield's a try if you're in the area.

This place was meh. I used to like the one they had in Hattiesburg but this one seemed rough. It seems a little run down. I had the chicken sandwhich and it was good but I have 2 problems. The fries kinda sucked and my wife's redfish was terrible. Size and portion was ok but that thing was fishy. And I understand that it's fish but it was not a pleasant experience. I'm sure it was frozen but I have no problem with that. That fish was thawed incorrectly and not seasoned enough to offset the strong flavor. I give them 3 stars because service was good and I liked the sandwhich. I might have just liked the Hattiesburg location because all I got was hamburgers sandwiches and beer. I might not eat fish here but my chicken wasn't dry kudos to that.

  • Krystine S.

In my opinion, it is in a bad location because nobody really thinks to go to this little shopping center but all in all, they have a little bit of everything and so far I've tried a burger, chicken, salad, and appetizers and everything was amazing. Happy hour is all day everyday which is surprising but awesome! Prices are really good as well. Family of four with appetizers and drinks was $40!!! Can't beat that for the amount of food we got at all! TVs everywhere which makes this a new favorite spot come football season!! Check it out!

Soooo pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! First good sit-down seafood place in Slidell that I would recommend over some NOLA places. I will ladmit, we ate here a few times over a year ago and it was absolutely horrible... but recently we have been twice and everything we did not enjoy (service/food) has been fixed and improved 100%! We have had the cheesy crab bread, swamp poboy, cajun poboy, and ribeye. We would recommend and reorder all of them!

The food didn't blow me away. We had a really sweet server, but it was very slow. Yes, we did have a group of 11, but there weren't a lot of customers. I don't think I would choose to go back again.

  • Kim S.

Arrived about 30 minutes before closing and the place was pretty much empty. Waited for what seemed like a long time to get our drink orders, but after that, service was prompt. The food was good but nothing extraordinary. Overall, good food for the price.

  • Sid P.

The food was very good. My wife had the Cajun beef (hamburger steak wrapped in bacon) & I had the baby backs. However there was no smoke flavor at all on the baby backs, they were drowned in sauce. The service was OK, nothing special you had to wait and wait to get your tea refilled. but what really got me was the prices. They hit you extra for most things you would expect to get with your meal. For what we had, with iced tea, we paid $46.00 before tip. We won't be back.

Loved it! The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. Everything we had, we enjoyed. From the appetizer (GETthe Swamp Fries!), to the soup to the handmade burgers.

  • Darnell G.

The only reason it got 2 stars is because there was no one in here and we were able to get a booth right in front of the tv!!! Seriously, this place is terrible!!! Shrimp pasta tasteless, swamp poboy just a bunch of beef, shrimp, jalapeños and cheese all jumbled up to screw up your taste buds, mushroom app just not even worth mentioning. They couldn't even get the drinks we got for dessert right! The servers just stood around a table laughing because there were no guest except us!!! Sorry but I haven't had this bad of an experience in a very long time! Oh the bill just came..... Let me give my BF CPR!!!!!!! Bye!

First time at Chesterfields. Food was pretty good. We had spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer. It was pretty good although had a little spicy flair to it that I was not expecting. We both had the Ribeye steak meals. 12 oz. came with a side and salad. That combined with 1 water and one coke came to $74. The food was good but I cannot see paying $74 for dinner for me and my daughter. Not sure this will become a regular spot for us. Service was GREAT! Food came out quick. Drinks were always full and the place was really clean. Just a bit pricy for my taste! But definite recommend!
