Had a grilled family poboy. Grilled fish, shrimp and oyster. It was smaller than I would have liked but for under $10 I'd say that it was worth it. Side salad was good. Soft ice cream in a cone helped to finish off a good meal for under $15. I'd eat there again when passing through.

I was a tad underwhelmed. The catfish poboy was just OK, and I think it was that cheap Vietnamese catfish you get in bulk from places like Sunday dinner. Either way, it wasn't overly flavorful. Prices weren't bad and the people were friendly. Good enough that I'd prob give it another shot if passing through.

Great little restaurant. The food is fantastic and decently priced. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a great place to grab a bite. From cheese sticks to steak definitely an A+

Service was great ,but we placed a Togo order for dinner and when we returned home both entrees were totally messed up. Roast beef poboy turned into a Philly cheese steak with onions and peppers which is why I ordered the poboy. So after picking out the things on the sandwhich I did not wish to eat it was pretty much meat and bread. Also the "fully" dressed burger came with cheese onions an mushrooms , needless to say both entrees were dry as a bone not properly being prepared.x

This place must be good because apparently it only takes them 4 hours a day to make their money. After seeing this was the only reviewed local spot on Yelp I was highly disappointed to find out they were only open from 10:00-2:00. I'm thinking this place is a well kept secret because only locals and a select few people passing thru have a chance to eat there. My rating is solely based on what I consider to be insanely short serving hours for a place that serves food other than breakfast. I'll review Rabalais Seafood Market (next door) since they are serving dinner at dinner time.

I live in Innis, and have never been to Family Grill. It is the best kept secret in the small town of Simmesport. My sister said that I should try it, and by the way order the hamburger steak. Wow... try it and you will like it
