Superior’s Steakhouse Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Started dinner with chargrilled oysters which were wonderful. For entrees, we ordered grilled redfish and meatloaf. Both were good, although I was a bit confused about the redfish. The choices were grilled or pan seared. I ordered grilled, but it came out looking pan seared with a light crust. The waiter said the fish is grilled and then pan seared. So, what's the difference then? Odd. It was good, though. Dessert was their infamous bread pudding made with Southern Maid donuts. Soooo good. Along with an incredibly delish espresso martini. Service is always good here. It is definitely pricey. Nice for an occasional treat or special occasion.

Attention.. Attention.. this review is based on a salad and the Mahi-Mahi.. Should we decide to dine here again.. I will update.. Decided on Superior Steakhouse for date night just this past week.. I read online about the business casual dress code so I goosey'd (is that right? I think that's what the Southerners say.. ) myself up for my man and following establishment rules. I should have known better.. As we entered, men were in jeans and T-shirts and women had on camisole shirts with skater skirts.. BLAH! Anyway.. we attempted to order two separate appetizers. The calamari and the crab cake. Our waiter, Chris, explained on both occasions that they were out of our choices. HUH?!? Ehh.. okay.. let's just move on with drinks and main entrees. I ordered a tall kamikaze.. the HUBS a tall rum and coke. The kamikaze was sweet as hell.. Whatever.. I drank it anyway. He enjoyed his rum and coke. It was late so I opted for a Caesar salad with tenderloin on top. I was under the impression, since the menu stated "with steak, shrimp or chicken" that I was able to choose my accompaniment, kind of like a McDonalds kids meal.. it comes with fries or apple slices.. At the end of the night, we found that to be completely untrue. The hubs ordered the grilled mahi mahi.. that was PERFECT! My salad had more hard pieces of the tail end of the Romaine than it did the actual green leafy parts, and it was DRENCHED in Caesar dressing. Also, there were only five total pieces of tenderloin on it... BLAH! We get the bill and to our surprise.. it was over $100. For a skimpy *bleep* salad, mahi mahi meal, and two drinks. We were also charged for two Kamikaze's instead of one. My husband circled this on the receipt.. Because of this, our waiters tip was deducted as well-- you should pay attention to what is being charged.. As of now.. I have a bad taste in my mouth from this place. Two stars for the waiter's attentiveness to us (and not necessarily our bill) and my husbands good food. -A girl from the big city

New to Shreveport so some coworkers invited me out after work. We only went in for drinks so I'll have to come back soon for steaks. Nice atmosphere, clean decor. Ordered two drinks, my usual whiskey sour and upon recommendation, the old fashioned. Both were quite strong and flavorful. But the old fashioned was really memorable-- due to the rock candy stirring stick. Good drinks were provided with enough bowls of wasabi peas and nuts for snacking. Tab came out to be roughly $15 including tip-- about the same price of drinks bought in NYC.

I made a reservation through Yelp for our anniversary dinner. When we arrived, we were treated like we were the only table in the building. Service was prompt, polite, and the food delicious. Just as we were discussing if we wanted to do dessert or not, it didn't even matter! We were surprised with a creme brûlée and wishes for a happy anniversary. Superior's deserves the highest marks for making our night unforgettable.

Really great restaurant! This was our first time there and we were not disappointed. We had heard of the place from friends but had not been because we don't live in Shreveport. We were in town to catch a flight the next day so decided to have dinner there on 20 Jun 15. I ordered the Sweet Pea Sea Bass and my wife had the 7oz filet. Our sides were roasted corn and asparagus. Everything was perfect. One of the best seafood dinners I have ever had and the steak was incredibly tender and flavorful. My only complaint (and it's not really a complaint) would be that the asparagus was a little bland. The corn however, could have been the whole meal. Really good! The atmosphere was good, but the place is large for a higher class restaurant and as a result a little noisy. There is a dress code but it is not enforced at all. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning!

I've been to this place 30 times but tonight is the first time I've been motivated to review it. Two in our party had ribeyes that were just flat bad. Not below average, not a little off, not sub-par. We're talking full out bad. It was a poor cut of meat that was poorly presented, poorly cooked and poorly defended. They used to have a really good ribeye. Not anymore. Western Sizzler would be ashamed of this shit. The steaks were sent back. The manager came out. He fumble farted around trying to say it was the same steak as always. Bullshit! Our server eventually came clean. There's a new chef. He's changed the menu. He's changed the way things are done. There's a reason one of the best steakhouses in the area now has a menu dominated by...wait for it... Fish! I don't know who's responsible for this but somebody should have their ass fired. They've lost some good, loyal customers this night. Big jowl drooping frowny face!

Tonight I had the worst service ever at this establishment. I came in with my parents an hour before closing and sat in the bar to celebrate my sisters engagement. I was the only one to order food, which consisted of a cup of soup and a small salad. The waitress (blonde with glasses, named Emily) was one of the rudest waitresses I've ever had in my life. She treated us as if we were in her way the whole time, or that she was upset that she had to wait on us. My dad even asked, towards the end of the meal, if we needed to leave if they were trying to shut down, and she acted even more upset and offended. Eventually ending the meal with giving us our check and rolling her eyes. My family has been coming to this restaurant since it opened, and in recent years it has continued to go down hill. I am a part of the Hospitality Management business and I am very disappointed with this service, completely unacceptable.

Classy with delicious steaks. Next time I'm in Shreveport, I'm definitely coming here again.

Definitely Shreveport go-to spot for special dinners--birthdays, anniversaries and the like based on all the shopping bags toted in by my fellow diners. So definitely have a reservation if heading over on a weekend night. A bit pricey, but decent steaks and good service.

Great service and great steak. But, way over priced and the calamari app was less than average, Olive Garden has better calamari. The salad was not great either. Won't be back, the price you pay doesn't equal what you would expect.

Great ambiance, service, cocktails, wine list, and food. You get what you pay for here but I got the feeling the prices are well above average based on my limited experience at other local places. I was here with clients, we all had steaks that were perfectly cooked. Two sides were enough for three men to share with our meal. I will definitely come back.

We had eaten here a few years back and I'm pleased to say it's as good - probably even better - than it was then. Great atmosphere and ambience - the bar is really a nice place and all dark wood. The restaurant itself is also very nice and cozy even though it's pretty large. We were there last Monday night and had a perfect Martini before dinner and two great filets for our meal. The only thing I can say that was a bit off was the service - although it wasn't busy, our waiter either kept disappearing or stood around and talked with another waiter, ignoring us and his other tables. We had to signal a couple of times to get his attention - not good for a restaurant of this price and caliber. Definitely will return. A great place!

I wanted to love this place. I really did. I love the decor and it was really easy to get reservations on a weekday night. In fact there were only 3 other groups in the main dining room. Unfortunately, I just wasn't wowed for the price! It was about $200 for two people. Granted, we ordered a bottle of wine and an appetizer, but no dessert! For that kind of money, when I ask for a wine recommendation, I expect something more that "that wine isn't bad". Isn't bad?!?! I don't know what I was expecting, maybe something a little more descriptive? The steaks were great and perfectly cooked. I ordered mine with a blue cheese crust which was perfectly toasted and melty. My husband ordered the special. He got to pick his steak preference and it was topped with crab meat (choice of blackened or some other way....he ordered blackened, of course) and a crab cake. He loved it! The side of mushrooms was okay. Not exactly what I was expecting because of the amount of herbs in it. The sweet potato was amazing, however! Lots of cinnamon in it and a toasted marshmallow on top! Yummm. Overall, it was a great experience and the food was good. I am just not sure that this was a $200 meal. I think it was more like a $150 meal : )

You should know up front that this place is rather pricey. You're not just paying for the food, which is very tasty, but also the atmosphere. Great for date night, big groups or just grabbing a drink at the bar.

Everything was great except for the price. I mean this place is what you imagine a fine steakhouse to be like. Free valet. Beautiful decor with great paintings all around. The service was fantastic. They had an awesome piano/singer playing. Had the Oysters Rockefeller (very big serving and tasty) and a chopped wedge salad (pretty good). Along with a 10 oz filet mignon (cooked perfectly) with creamed spinach (very good) all shared between my wife, mother in law, and myself and a glass of wine. Also finished off with a cobbler dripped with a sweet southern comfort sauce al a mode with a cup of coffee (fantastic). Reservations were easy to make for a weeknight. The only drawbacks to it were that they were playing music along with the piano player which at times clashed. Then lastly it was pretty pricey but going here, your going to pay for what you get. Definitely recommend it, of course when your bank account allows you to do so.

Consistently provide good service, perfect temperature steak, and a good selection of wine. Somehow, our date night tend to involve steak. This place reminds of a steak houses in Chicago suburbs for some reason, which is a good thing for my husband who was born there and spent huge amount of his time. I also spent 3 winters there, so it's not a bad thing to remind me of those cold days, I suppose. Steak's temperature is always perfect. We order our steak medium rare, of course. ;) Good food, good decor, perfect service with a nice selection of wine. My kind of place. Love it!

It starts with the ambiance - reminiscent of a Chicago-style or New York-style steakhouse. Wood paneling, hardwood floors, cool light fixtures, the leather wrapped booths and the white tablecloths. Instantly, you forget what city you're in. Then, the service - attentive, polite, engaging. The wait staff genuinely seem to enjoy what they're doing and take pride in what they do. Extremely knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Next, the bread. Warm, soft on the inside with a chewy outside texture. Need a strong will not to fill up before the food comes out. The wine list is simply one of the best in Shreveport. Great variety and quality. And finally, the steak. Quite simply, the best in Shreveport. Better than 2 Johns. Better than the Cub. Better than any other restaurant in the area (I've tried most of them). Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? I suppose that depends on (forgive my snobbery here) your level of appreciation for truly delicious steak. Is it the best steak I've ever had? No. That distinction still belongs to the porterhouse for two at Peter Luger in NY and the Kobe filet at The Cut in Las Vegas. But Superior provides excellent quality beef prepared very, very well. Well seasoned. Cooked precisely to order (medium-rare, of course). In summary, Superior's remains my favorite restaurant in Shreveport.

Horrible horrible service!!! I have never been spoken to the way that bartender spoke to me at any restaurant or ever for that matter. His tone was brash, unpleasant, and completely uncalled for. I was in town for the Christmas holiday and after years of hearing about Superior Steakhouse, I went for drinks the night after Christmas Day. When I ordered a glass of wine, he rudely yelled, "WE DON'T HAVE THAT!" When I asked what other Malbecs were offered, he snapped, "WE DON'T!" He continued in this manner with me and the other members of my party. He then took our payment and walked away without asking if we'd wanted to open a tab or not. I proceeded to wait 5 minutes for him to bring the ticket to close out since I wanted nothing else to do with him. He never came back. You can never make another first impression and unfortunately this is now what I'll think of every time someone mentions going to Superior Steakhouse. And I'm sure we'll choose another place where we can get "superior" service.

Best Steakhouse in the area... I would say even better than the best in Dallas! Get the filet with lump crab and hollandaise sauce. Au gratin potatoes are amazing and fried shrimp. Service is always great!!

Wow! Wow! Wow! We been to Superiors many times before but the Wine dinner we attended was out of this world. We had a five course dinner paired with five different wines all for $85 per person. The best part... The WINE MAKER was present and talked about each wine and his family's third generation winery in California. The service team... yes like an army, was five star. Fresh glasses and silverware for every course and when I left my seat, I returned to my napkin carefully folded. I realize this was a special event, but non-the-less, it was pretty amazing! Also, check out the happy hour on wednesday's... and get their early if you want a seat.

Every time we eat here, we feel like we are rich celebrities vacationing in Cuba in the 1950's. The steaks are the best and the lobster bisque will curl your toes. Unfortunately they took the asparagus tempura off the menu (the cost probably scared people away from trying it, however it was the hidden gem of the menu) and the politically correct have all but eliminated the cigar after the meal. Regardless, this place provides one of the best "special occasion" meals you can find.

Good steaks, a bit noisy, but if the weather's nice, enjoy your meal outside. I've been here three times and never ate in the main room on the left. Let me tell you, it ain't cheap.

Unfortunately, this place is overpriced for what you get. There aren't that many choices in Shreveport and I think this place was elevated to a higher status than deserved because it has the feel (fireplace, oversupply of waiters, high prices) of a big city steakhouse. My 7 ounce sirloin was $30 and it came with no sides. I ordered whipped potatoes on the side; they were good, but $35 is too much for an undressed, mediocre steak and some creamed potatoes.

We went to Superior Steak House after waiting for a table at Ernest's for 45 minutes with a reservation. On a Saturday night, Superior was able to seat us immediately. Our waiter was prompt and knowledgeable. The food was some of the best I've had in Shreveport. This is a first class steak house, with excellent food and great service. G.W. Austin, Texas

I went here for a dinner banquet with a group of about 24. We were told that it was probably the nicest restaurants in the area. The decor is very nice, the service is great, the food is OK, but not great, the prices are ridiculous. For a 10 ounce fillet with 3 grilled shrimp on top, was $50. This does not include any sides, they must be ordered separate. I would say that my dinner with drinks and sides, was in the $80 - $90 range. I have had much better steaks for far less money. I will say that this is a nice place for a special occasion, but not for a good meal at reasonable prices.

Overpriced for what you get. I would suggest Texas Street Tavern to get a good steak.

Upscale staekhouse. The filets are so tender that a fork will cut them. The warm bread before the meal is great with the REAL butter. I had lobster bisk as an appetizer and it was great. The steak was prepared perfectly, as were the potatoe and sauted spinach. They lived up to their name "Superior". I am a believer that you get what you pay for. Enjoy.

It is amazing how two people from Austin can have two completely different experiences. I never cease to be disappointed by Superior's. I guess it is the fact that locals make a big deal of it and it touts itself as the type of major steakhouse I have come to love and enjoy in Texas. Now that I have dined here several times over the past year, I feel I can write an appropriate review, and two stars is about it. Service is always top-notch. From the host stand, to back servers and front servers, it is always a real treat; however, the front-of-house sets an expectation upon which the kitchen just cannot seem to deliver. Food. Taste it before it leaves the kitchen and show appreciation for your ingredients. The salads were beyond an afterthought, and the bleu cheese dressing is mediocre. The lunch Meatloaf is about the closest thing to a solid dish I have had at Superior's. It is a beautifully delicious mix of tenderloin and ribye, and the "savory red sauce" is everything you would want. The only thing killing this dish is the amount of that sauce. It overpowers the natural flavor of the meat and becomes too much with every bite. The Trout Amandine is a flavorless entree of nothing more than lightly breaded trout and oily almonds thrown on top of it. I suppose the lemon wedge was supposed to help that along, but then it only tastes like the aforementioned plus lemon. Toast the almonds, season the fish/flour and this dish will immediately jump a few notches. Steaks are okay. That's saying something when it's in the name of your restaurant. Nothing huge in the way of flavor, but it will be cooked properly. I would normally recommend a bearnaise to help, but that too just does not deliver.. It is rather sour and overpowering with lemon instead of the creamy egg and tarragon that makes a bearnaise just that. Cook temps are generally spot-on and things are prepared well, the execution of flavor is just missing on a huge level Desserts are fine. Pass on the creme brulee, and go with the bread pudding with the Southern Comfort sauce. A real hit if you have a sweet tooth! Wine selection is fine, but extremely overpriced. Bring your own and pay whatever corking fee is applied, and you will be much happier. If all you want to do is "see and be seen," then, this is probably your place. If you want an excellent lunch or dinner of the highest quality for your dollar, please look elsewhere. C.D. Austin, TX

I was there in July, yes Shreveport in July, and so it was for business. I took my favorite client there as there are really no better place to go in Shreveport for upscale dinning that I could find. Sorry Shreveport! The decor was fine for a steak house and the food was great. What makes this place 4-stars, is that as compared to Ruth's Chris or Morton's that I am accustomed to (I'm from metro Chicago), this prices are very reasonable.

Solid food. A little disappointed in the service, but seeing Ray Liotta & David Schwimmer made up for it. Got the ribeye, Rockafeller oysters, augratin potatoes, mac' & cheese, & blueberry lamb.

I went here for the first time last weekend, but I did not have dinner. I did however, have the creme brulee. It was good, but not great. The bar area gets pretty crowded, which makes for fun people watching....er, watching drunk people, and/or trying to figure out if you know someone (esp. if you have been away for 10+ years) . My group & I had 3 different waitresses stop by: 1 to take our first round of drinks, 1 to ask other people who joined us later what they wanted to drink, and 1 who brought us our drinks. The last one was nice and patient when she kept coming by to ask if we needed more drinks though we weren't paying much attention. I agree with the other review, it seems to be a nice place to host out of town friends or work people.

Go for the bar. Not the food. The food is good, but it's not the best. It's a great place to take friends from out of town or business associates. For picky palettes, it's not quite up to snuff. The bar is great, the scene is great, the drinks are great. The burgeoning young socialites of Shreveport are always hovering around the huge circular bar until all hours, along with a few rich old geezers who are on the prowl. Beware of the Eurotrash posse that hangs in front of the bathroom door. Speaking of the bathroom, the artwork in the ladies' is fab, but a little disturbing. All those women with no faces. Weird.

Birthday celebration dinner eaten at the bar cuz I like my TV with eats. Wine selection A-okay! Lady at the bar provided top notch care. Halibut fillet dinner seared with a bed of risotto. Very good. Oysters appetizer I prefer more "naked." I tried it and still thought it was yummy but too cheesy. But that's just my palette -- I like briny. Lots of laughter and love here. Couples, friends, lovers all wanting to enjoy good eats and dranks. Make this place a stop for dinner! Valet! Piano and singer! I'd even come here solo and feel comfortable.

The waiter was very nice but the menu options were limited. Seemed a little overpriced compared to other steakhouses such as Morton's or Lawry's. The potatos were not that great in taste. Almost tasteless. I got the 14oz ribeye and my husband got the 7oz filet. The cheesecake was great though.

  • Pamela Z.

I dine here twice a year when town visiting family. I always have an enjoyable experience from cocktails, appetizers, dinner and dessert. The steaks are good enough for me to order again and again. The wine list is okay, but is SO overpriced, it's laughable. Bring your own, pay the cork fee, and you are still ahead. Cocktails are the way to go here.

There was recent poor review on this place and it had me a little concerned for our already booked little group outing. The new chef has been there for 3 months now and apparently he's in from Denver. My medium rare steak was very nice with the nice seasoning and flavor from the blackened peppercorn crust on my 14 oz prime ribeye. Others in the group had a 7 oz filet and the new special - a New Orleans mixed grill, a new menu addition. All in all, still a nice place for an upscale dinner, though still also on pricey side even for what you get.

Last night my fiance and I were out celebrating the promotion I received that day and decided last-minute to visit Superior's. Truly, my night couldn't have been any better. From a PERFECT wine recommendation to a complimentary side of mac and cheese and free cheesecake with our dessert, I have never received better service anywhere. Our waiter was absolutely wonderful, however I fail to remember his name (due to the awesome wine). I remember he was in the military, had perfect service, and joked around with us. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were immediately taken to the fireplace room to a lovely table near the fire. The guy who brought our bread was hilarious and joked around with us too. The ambiance was perfect, the recommendations from our waiter were spot-on, and I just felt special all night. Regarding the food, everything was cooked to perfection - we ordered raw oysters, chargrilled oysters, caesar & wedge salad, 7 oz rare filet, spinach au gratin, blueberry turnover, creme brulee, and of course received the complimentary mac & cheese and cheesecake. SO MUCH FOOD! And all of the flavors were fantastic. Thank you so much for the fantastic night! We will be back!
