I loved Shane's from the first time I ate there back in Feb 10 (when I should have written the review) Anyways..I have had pretty much everything on thier menu but ALWAYS go back to the fried shrimp basket. The crispness of the shrimp and the breading mix they use is fantastic. My husband always has the half BBQ chicken basket with baked beand and coleslaw sides. The sweet tea is as close to homes as I'm going to get here (from GA) and the atmosphere is always inviting. It's usually only very busy during lunch (obviously) and Saturday evenings. Other than that you can usually get in and out at your leisure. I will be sure to bring y family here when they visit in the fall..YUM!

I was hoping for some great creole food and thanks to my coworkers, I found it! They took me to the one on the Shreveport Barksdale Hwy for lunch on Friday where I had the perfect Crawfish Etouffe that I've been craving. I loved it so much, I went back to pick up dinner consisting of crab cakes smothered in crawfish etouffe. I got singles of baked beans, potato salad and coleslaw to go with it. Once I find a great restaurant, I tend to stick to it for the duration of my trip so I went to Shane's at the Mansfield Road and got the pound of crab legs. I'm not sure which I love the most but I have to say that I enjoyed every entrée and side dishes that I got at Shane's. I wish there was a Shane's in San Diego. The seasoning is balanced with a bit of heat on the etouffe. I don't like salty or greasy food so I'm always a bit leery when I'm outside of California but rest assured, everything I've eaten here have been delicious and healthy. The crab legs were succulent and comes with corn and new potatoes and very filling and yes, it was so worth it. Bon appetite!

These people know NOTHING about Cajun cooking OR barbecue. They just slather everything in seasoned salt and call it "Cajun". I call it a "waste of money". Stay away from this place if you have any sense.

BBQ is ok. The stuffed crab is nothing more than something you buy from the grocery store. Their sauce is great. They are know for their crawfish but everything else is kind of bland. The alligator is good blackened. I only go there for the gator.

Shane's is legit. I've been a loyal customer since they were in just the little Sonic building off Youree. It's been 7 years since I moved from my home of Shreveport, but every time I'm back.....I have to visit Shane's and get my pistolette fix and some etouffee'. Their etouffee is creamy and rich, spicy and full of flavor. The roux is light and the crawfish fresh. DO IT. The gumbo I don't care for....Herby K's is WAY better...I like a DARK roux for my gumbo and Shane's uses the same base as the etouffee' - it's very light and too thick to be considered a soup or stew. The fried shrimp is amazeballs, as is anything boiled - crawfish, crab legs! They've expanded the menu over the years to include barbeque and steaks...but I've never been able to break away from my favs to try them. The service has always been good for us - drinks stay filled and prices are very reasonable. Please keep them busy and in business for me until next time I'm back in town!!

Stopped here on a road trip and the food was unexpectedly delicious. Stuffed shrimp and alligator some of the best I've ever eaten. The smoked boudin was also delicious!! Wait staff gets an ok very casual environment but worth the stop if you are in town.

My understanding is that this location is by far the nicest of the "chain". First time here was not bad, but second was awful. I started with a crab pistolette, which was deep fried and hot on the outside, but cold in the center. The shrimp platter I ordered was ok, but for the price a complete ripoff. I think Long John's Silver puts out a better shrimp plate. Service was poor, with a teenager stopping by a total of 3 times: take order, drop off order, drop off check. No refills, no checking on the food; no attention to the diner at all. I will not be coming back; can find a better option for a $30 dinner elsewhere.

Food was just okay, service was good. Food came out in a timely manner and drinks were always taken care of.

This is my second time eating at Shane's. Both times, I ordered via the drive-thru at the Mansfield Rd. location. I was a little disappointed the first time, both with the food and the SLOW service, but I figured that I would give it another try. However, this most recent trip has ensured that I won't be returning. I ordered the crawfish pies, waited almost fifteen minutes at the window to get them, only to realize that they had given me meat pies (I don't eat pork or beef, so this was actually a pretty big deal) upon biting into one after driving off. I doubled back and went inside the restaurant to have them fix my order. Person who had given me the order was completely unapologetic, and I waited another 10-15 minutes in the establishment to get a new order. I opened the box when I got to my car to see three almost unrecognizable blobs of over-fried (or over heated?) dough that look nothing like crawfish pie. I ended up picking around the pies in order to extract the very little étouffée inside the dough, which was soggy with grease and disgusting. My lackluster meal was only made worse by the fact that I had to wait so long to get it, and at five dollars a pop, I feel like I completely wasted my money.

Went to the one on Youree drive ONCE, for crawfish. Literally the worst crawfish I have ever had at a restaurant. They were so hard your thumbs hurt afterword. They had no seasoning and were gritty.

This was my first visit to Shane's. I ordered 5 pounds of boiled crawfish and potatoes. The crawfish were perfectly seasoned and delicious. The sweet tea was also very good. The service was friendly, quick and attentive. I visited Shane's the day before leaving Shreveport and had a crawfish po-boy. It was amazing. I have also said that the bread makes a sandwich. The bread they use for the crawfish po-boy was perfect. All around a good sandwich. I highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family and I would return.

The grilled alligator is phenomenal ... Never thought I would enjoy alligator so much and I've tasted it down the Lafayette and Baton Rouge areas many times, smoked, grilled and fried yet Shane's does an excellent job with their grilled alligator! Their briskets are great, bbq ribs and chicken is good and baked potatoes sometimes are better than others (over done a couple times), usually good and alert staffing/waitress, lots of tv screens, usually more than just one channel, once I asked if they could turn one of them on to the baseball game (since almost all of the screens were on golf or some college football talk show) and they did! Overall good atmosphere ... And it's never too crowded

You need your Boiled Crawfish fix - then come here - its one of the best - if not THE best in Shreveport - end of story. Its a must stop for us during crawfish "Season" but we just visited this past weekend and put away 11lbs between the 4 of us - this spice is perfect, nice and hot - no matter how early or late you are when they are "Boiling" and some good size crawfish too! - Interesting on our most recent visit was a card saying that a crawfish with a straight tail were to be avoided was a "Myth" - we still erred on the side of caution though! Service is fast and friendly and we were kept well stocked as we were eating. Outside of the Crawfish - I have *never* had a bad dish here - the meat pies and Pistolette appetizers and great and the BBQ ribs are recommended too. Only let down is the desserts - Cheesecake and Pecan pie - which don't look too exciting, they need to get their icebox cream pie on! It isn't fancy dining, it doesn't pretend to be though, if you just want good food, you can't go wrong here.

Service is pretty terrible, no kidding, pretty terrible... Food is good but Crawdaddy's is by far the best of the two all the way around!!!
