I realize that this place is popular but all I can give it is a 3. I tried their fried seafood which included fish, shrimp and oysters along with green beans and cole slaw. All of the seafood pieces were large. It was 3 of each for a total of $12.49 and was a lot of food. It was good but nothing more to warrant a 4. The restaurant is a hole in the wall type that is more conducive to getting it to go rather than dining in. I went due to the yelp ratings but I cannot agree with its current rating of 4.5. To get that kind of score it had better be special and I didn't think it was. Good but not very good or excellent.

If I lived here this would be a regular stop for us. Way to much food, go hungry or share. With that being said here's the skinny. The quantity compared to price was fantastic, the quality good. Shrimp po boy is what my husband had. He enjoyed it. We really didn't eat the fries because, well, they're fries. Been there done that. The okra was not hot so it was no sweat to skip it (like I said it was enough to feed a small army) so it was just OK. The red beans n rice was really good. The shrimp was fried in a pretty heavy batter that was too much for me but the shrimp is gigantic. Now the catfish? Was REALLY great, I got the catfish and shrimp 3X3 and they gave me 4 giant pieces of catfish that was so hot I had to break it open to cool it down. Highly recommended. My husbands shrimp po boy had an extra piece of shrimp on the top. It's def worth the trip. The gal sitting behin us had the liver and gizzard platter and it was humongous. ENJOY!!

Visited from California and had some of the best shrimp ever. Perfectly fried and very tasty. The wings were also very delicious. Great food and great prices.

Great prices for good food! I had lunch here on my first day of a week long visit and it was probably the best lunch all week. The fries are exactly the way I like them, crisp on the outside and hot inside. Every one of them. There wasn't a single limp, soggy fry. I had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. I was hesitant to order it, having experienced them in their natural habitat and this was quite a few miles from the City of Brotherly Love, but my server recommended it and I took her word; along with the tip to add A1 sauce (do that if you get it). It was messy, but packed with flavor. And huge. If you leave here hungry, then you have a hollow leg. The portions are massive, prices are low and food is good.

Great fish had the 3-fish, 3- ousters, 3- shrimp with mac and cheese, and fries, and a second side of mac and cheese. That order fed all 4 of us. Someone might have a counting problem because we ended up with 5 pieces of fish, but were told of the counting issue when I asked the check out lady at Bass Pro if she had eaten there before. The Sam's we visited was attached to a casino thus the 3 stars apparently the HVAC system is shared with the casino and the air coming out of the system smelled badly of smoke. I highly recommend Sam's for the fish but not for the ambiance. I will visit again but at a different location.

So I finally decided to drop by this place after reading reviews about how awesome it was. So the other night I drove past, yes past, made a u-turn then arrived at Sam's. I was greeted by a young lady with a warm hello. She was patient with me while I decided what to order. 3 piece fish and 3 piece shrimp. Fries, mac and cheese and upon her suggestion, the seafood gumbo. The food is made fresh so I sat for just a moment and waited. I got home and opened my box. Wow. The portion size! I was excited to see big pieces of fish and shrimp on steroids. I ate most of the food but couldn't finish it all, and trust me, I know how to eat. The food was great. Customer service was excellent. I will be returning.

Coming thru louisana, I decided to stop here because of yelp. Well I was disappointed. Yes a lot of food however the fish was swai which is a cheap catfish. Locals love it but I will past next time.

Had a really good lunch on my first visit. I got a fish and shrimp combo and it was HUGE. Way too much food than i was expecting. Fish was very good but, the shrimp was over done so they were kinda rubbery. Great place for lunch!

I was in Shreveport a few weeks ago and stopped here on our way back to Ft. Worth. This time included 1 piece of the grilled fish with our catfish order. Excellent taste. Would highly recommend.

Very good. At this price point for catfish/shrimp plate with two sides, I don't know how this could be beat! I would absolutely stop in here again next time I'm passing through Shreveport. Oh! One complaint: funny smell in the place - almost like they were trying to cover up cigarette smoke (which of course really can't be covered), so we got our food to go. Almost walked out as soon as we entered the place, but we're glad we stuck around long enough to get takeout.

Went with Yelp reviews in picking this place. As a traveler, it was a little scary leaving the casino area of Bossier and driving here but ended up ok. Food was good, not great but you get slot for the price. Shrimp are great, catfish just ok.

You can't beat the portions or prices. There are several locations in this area but the North Market one is our favorite. We're fans of the fried shrimp, gizzards, and chicken wings - their burgers are pretty good as well.

Great food great prices, the grilled shrimp and fish are awesome. The building itself has a bit to be desired, but hey some of the best food joints are dives. Order the 3 and 3 and you may get a 7 and 9 piece - they really don't count how much they throw in your styrofoam container. Share or be ready for leftovers.

Really good food! Hubby had a whitefish po boy which was huge, and he said tasted really good, and fried crispy. The roll was soft. Sandwich was served with an extra piece of the fried fish, onto of a big portion of seasoned fries. I ordered sides. Red beans n rice were on the bland side for me, had to add a lil hot sauce for a kick. The potato salad was ok, but was missing something, maybe egg. Coleslaw was good. Fried Green Tomatoes were nice n crispy, but a lil greasy, and can't eat but so many before u push them to the side. The hot water cornbread was good, but kinda greasy. We bought 2 tea cakes, but didn't eat them yet. They had an abundance of desserts in the counter to pick from.I would come back here, but I'm craving collards n black eyed peas, & they don't sell them here. The young lady at the counter vas very pleasant, helpful n informative! Service was great!

Good fried foods and red beans and rice, but pass on the mac and cheese since the cheese taste as if it comes out of a tub (processed). I had the gizzards, my wife the catfish and hot water cornbread and we both agreed that we would do it again. Friendly people, clean, but please understand that this is not a sit day and bring the family kinda of a place. You're served in to-go boxes after placing your order at the counter and then you are eating in a small dining area that looks perfect for the quick lunch crowd for the hard working folk of Shreveport.

Visiting Shreveport for the night and looked up this place near the hotel. WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!! Great place, Huge portions, enought to snack on later at the hotel, service was awesome, Heather did everything to make sure we were good. Lastly as a family of 5 that ate for 50 bucks, easy on the wallet!! Wife and daughter had shrimp poboys, neither ate all of it, son had Double burger which he ate half, JR. had kids plate which was more than enough and I finished off the philly. We WILL be back anytime were in the area

This has become my new favorite place to visit. You get the biggest bang for your buck here. If you order 6 shrimp, prepare yourself for a couple extra. They have the BEST fried shrimp. Pretty speedy on getting your food, the wait staff is decent as well.

Everything that I have written (see my other Yelp reviews!) for the Jewella location can hold true for this location as well. Sam's fried shrimp are the best in town, they are absolutely GI-NORMOUS! They also serve Big Red in a bottle here (Zooo-Weee, Mamma!) Love Big Red! Love it! They have a very diverse menu here and it all looks and smells good (nachos, philly cheese steaks among other diverse items) I see people order other menu items all the time, but what they are known for, and what is their biggest seller, and what I always go for, is the fried shrimp! Which comes with your choice of two sides (I always go with fries and slaw, but they have other choices) and Sam's own homemade shrimp sauce-which is dee-lish! Yesterday, I also picked up a huge brick of fresh chocolate cake as well as one of the fresh peanut butter cakes, to take home with my meal. Both cakes, moist and delicious! This location is conjoined to a truckstop-type casino called "Cash Magic", which is more noticeable as a landmark when you're driving down North market, looking for Sam's. Sam's Southern Eatery, I'll say it again...BEST FRIED SHRIMP IN THIS AREA!
