The food is decent, but the service here is absolutely terrible. Although overstaffed and not even close to busy, our server sat us at a dirty table and left it that way until we left 40 minutes later. She never even took our drink orders! There is always some sort of issue every time I try to eat here. I do not recommend this restaurant even if you do have hours to kill.

The appetizer, the spicy mushrooms, are the way to go!! If you are a mushroom freak like I am, this is a nice, unique way to have them! OMG! Just delectable! This is ONE OF THE BEST APPETIZERS IN THIS AREA!!!

I was in the Shreveport area visiting a friend when I noticed Posado's Café. I asked my friend about it and he warned me to stay away. I didn't listen but I should have. The appearance of the building drew me in, it looks pretty cool. We were seated close to the kitchen entrance where the servers made it a habit to hang out and joke around and horse play with each other while my wife and I have empty cups on our table asking to be refilled. Our server was o.k., he seemed nervous. He may have been a new hire. As for the food, it was the worst Mexican I have had (I have had lots.) My soft taco shells were heated to the point of being crispy tacos that snapped in two when I tried to fold them. They forgot the avocado on my taco and the rice was sticky and very crusty on top like it would have sat in a pot all day. The server said it was because they pass the rice through the oven and guaranteed it was fresh. Why pass it through the oven? My guess is to heat it up because it has been sitting in a pot all day. When I showed the food to the server he seemed confused as to what to do. Once the manager finally came over, she assured me the rice was always fresh, even with the evidence glaring her in the face. She also promised the crispy soft tacos has never happened before. I'll call BS on that statement. I had to ask to have my money refunded for food I could not eat. Eventually they refunded half of the money. With so many Mexican restaurants in the area, stay away from Posado's.

This location is a favorite of ours. There are two here, Shreveport(this one) and Bossier(Old Minden Road). We've heard nothing but awful things about the one in Bossier, so we've never went. This one certainly isn't the best of the best, but you get a lot of food for a very good price. The salsa is fantastic and each guest gets their own bowl. There is usually always someone sitting at this station rolling out tortillas. There is a young guy(18-20) named Josh that works at this location and we always request him. He's an excellent server who is attentive and prompt. Servers have to be excellent to get an excellent tip and Josh works hard for his money! He's also GREAT with kids!

This is a regional chain restaurant, headquartered out of Longview, TX (I think.) It's good Mexican food, but hardly authentic. Plenty of food for the money. Their salsa is my favorite in Shreveport/Bossier City.

Place is kinda hit or miss. The food isn't bad but the service is generally poor. They are never busy which baffles me how it can take so long to get a refill on your drink or some fresh chips. Food good, service generally stinks.

Bartender told me the fajitas are the best so I ordered them. They were the lunch order and they were dry and well over cooked. They tasted horrible. I would not recommend them. I did receive chips and salsa. The chips came from a large bin behind the bar as well as the salsa. When I watched the bartender take chips from the bin and dip them into the salsa behind the bar and eat right from there I pushed the chip and salsa I received away. The bartender spoke to the manager who took care of my bill. The manager didn't bother to talk to me and apologize. After all this I leave hungry and unappreciated. I would not recommend the restaurant

I can't imagine why anyone would eat here with the other choices available. I had happy hour margueritas, $7. No tequila, or so little, I couldn't taste it. Seven dollar Queso appetizer was so soupy, it was hard to stick to a chip. Food came slowly. Fajitas were good, but expensive. The waiter was friendly and agreeable. I won't return. There are just too many better choices.... It has been around for a long time, so others must like it. I'm very picky.

Really good service. Really friendly and curtious. Great food too also. Not too spicy of salsa. Wonderful fresh and hot tortillas. Could have used hotter chips and bigger pieces. Wonderful and hot and fresh food. I got chicken fajitas quesadillas!!!!!

Not sure where to begin....first off, we were seated in the bar which is awesome. The service was excellent the margaritas were pretty good the salsa was horrible tasted like stewed tomatoes. I requested fresh jalapenos and pico de gallo which the waitress / bartender brought us out promptly. The queso was pretty good and appeared to have fresh cheddar cheese in it. the problem began when they brought our meals out which mine had a piece of fajita steak with it called the tampiqueno. It appeared that something was missing with my meal, it was the steak, the main part of the meal. we laughed and told the waitress who promptly brought us a fajita steak but at that point the meal was pretty much ruined as the Charro beans tasted like crap and had obviously been heated in a microwave due to the film along the edge of the bowls. Our waitress who wanted to make sure everything was okay was incomplete dis believe when I told her the main portion of my mail was missing. she tried to make it right by bringing me a piece of steak which.had the consistency of crap it had tendons and was pretty much raw and very very gross. she brought the manager out and he was so gracious that he comped $10 off our meal even though the whole evening was ruined due to their crummy food. I would like to reiterate the service was awesome he drinks were awesome the queso is great the manager is not fit to shine shoes at the airport then he sent his kitchen manager out to walk by us and asked me if I really did get by fajita steak. The fact that they would question me let alone comp me $10 was very insulting. I wouldn't eat there if I was starving to death. ...

the food wasn't pleasant at all. My nachos came out already having the soggy chips, guess they was sitting awhile before being picked up to serve. Took forever to get more salsa. I'm thinking that you know just maybe when you bring out new chips you should also bring out more salsa! Half our table was disappointed with their meal. So sad too considering we had 18 people with us.

As others have said, the service is inconsistent, the food is mediocre at best, the floor is always oily and slippery, and the food is overpriced. The food is also very inconsistent; sometimes you get delicious fajitas, sometimes the meat is too tough or lacking vegetables. The major reason I started going here is because of the delicious and thin tortillas but now, even those have gotten inconsistent. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Especially not with places like El Compadre and Taqueria La Michoacana not that far away.

We stopped in for a quick lunch and because we had just passed it. Our server was all smiles, probably due to a not-so-hectic afternoon two days before Christmas. We were on the hungry side that we had to ask for more salsa and chips before ordering. I got the chicken taco salad. As expected, it's a huge hard taco shell filled with almost everything (without sour cream for me). The chicken seemed a little mushy to me, but the rest of the salad was fine and quite tasty. Mom and brother had chicken and beef enchildas ordered from the lunch side of the menu, which also included two sides. They had a lot on their plate for lunch portions. I can only imagine what the dinner versions looked like. We left quite stuffed and ready for a busy day of shopping and errands. Nap time, anyone?

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
