Excellent restaurant. Family, yet gourmet! Had the country fried chicken with gravy and baked potato which came with a salad. Blue Cheese dressing was REAL.....none of the fake stuff that you even get at world class restaurants! The meal was GREAT! Wife had the blackened chicken breast with vegetables which was equally as good. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone! Waitress was from Mouton.....her last name was Mouton! She was a wonderful woman! Some young man is missing a good thing!

A great place for lunch! I had the grilled shrimp salad and it was divine! The service was wonderful and the location is just a quick trip off the freeway!

Food was pretty good. Portion was huge. Price is ok. Went on a weekday so not crowded at all. Tried going on Sunday but the place closes at 2.

I am from Seattle, Wa so I wanted a Louisiana experience. I felt like I got one here. My husband and I ordered the Sampler platter to share and I also got a cup of Crawfish Gumbo. It was all excellent. The fried seafoods were not over battered or over fried, the étouffée was delicious as were the crab cakes and catfish. We were very pleased. I also enjoyed that the owner walked around and chatted with everyone to make sure they were enjoying themselves and were satisfied. Overall a great experience.

Stopped here on the way home from Destin and it was AWESOME! The staff was extremely kind and the food was unbelievable. I highly recommend you pass up the Subway and grab a bite at Chef Roy's. You won't be disappointed.

another standard good solid cajun restaurant in the country side, clearly a favorite with the locals with it s large generous portions, no wander so many people are heavy around these swamps. very friendly waitress and nice open dining room, like everybody else they claim to have the best gumbo but they are all about the same, frog legs were huge and juicy, the crab cake rich and decadent was very tasty. desert no thank you

We visit this place every year after working at the German Fest in Robert's Cove. We're tired, hungry, and usually a little silly too. After all, we've been playing polka music for 8 hours at a wonderful festival. We're always accomodated quickly, especially considering that when we arrive, we never know for sure how many people will actually come for dinner. Our poor waitresses have lots of patience - we're not the easiest group to understand - there's usually a bit of chaos wherever we go. We're all musicians who have been friends longer than we can remember, and we only see each other once or twice a year. Our compliments on the food - we always like what ever we order. I got the Etuouffee and it was great. Hubby and I also wanted a good stiff drink. (Yes, we'd been at a festival where beer is served all day, but we had been performing for and working with children, so we did not imbibe.) When our mixed drinks came, we were quite dissapointed. It was as if there was no alcohol at all - just a little for color. I am a seriously cheep date, as in one beer typically makes me typsy. One stiff drink with rum and blue curacau should have me feeling a little numb. That feeling never came. So we are very dissapointed in the bar tender who was mixing drinks the night of Oct 5. If our waitress thought we should not be served, why didn't she just offer us something non alcoholic? We paid for mixed drinks, but we got watered down fruit juice with a TON of ice. We will be back, I'm sure, but if we want a drink with our friends, we'll just order a beer. It's cheeper and they can't stiff us.

Consistently good food and generous portions. If you go away hungry, it's not their fault. Very friendly staff. Only complaint is that is pricey for the area. The food is high quality, though. I recommend the seafood dishes!!!! If you are in the area, you need to try here.

Delicious, fresh and always satisfying. All salad dressings are made in house. Seafood is fresh. We got the crab white lake and the crawfish étouffée.

This our 3rd time here for lunch driving through and always love it. Best seafood gumbo I've had. It really had some seafood, shrimp, oyster, crawfish, and crab. I always get the crawfish Napoleon, stacked fried eggplant and crawfish covered in a spicy cream sauce. Someday I want to try dinner here.

Great place to stop right off the interstate in Rayne, LA. Yummy Cajun food, full bar with martinis, delicious desserts, and very reasonable prices. My husband and I shared the Shrimp Festival, which allowed me to try several of their scrumptious shrimp items including coconut beer shrimp with a tangy marmalade to dip, pepper jelly shrimp, boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, stuffed shrimp, shrimp étouffée, and shrimp gumbo. They gave us baskets of warm bread rolls and a side salad came with the meal so really plenty for two at a decent price of $24.99. The service was also very friendly and fast, and the atmosphere was somewhat like a bed n breakfast. No music in the background, but as the restaurant filled up, the chatter filled the silence. I definitely recommend it to anyone who lives in this area or needs a pit stop off I10.

The food is good by local standards. That is to say way better most seafood places in most of the country. There are better places in the greater Lafayette market. I go with limited expectations and enjoy the meal. My problem is service. The servers are kids and don't have a clue. Last time I ordered a bottle of wine. It came in a huge ice bucket that took up too much of the table. Way top pretentious but OK food

Possibly the best lunch spot off I-10 if you are traveling from S. Louisiana to Texas. Crab & corn soup is outstanding. Their fry skills are top notch. Fresh baked rolls are a nice touch. That they use tomato in their étouffée is my only minor complaint, still delicious. If you'd like a step up for lunch in a nice, quiet setting, be sure to stop here.

Chef Roy's is always consistant and that means GOOD. It is always a pleasure to stop on our way to Houston. The staff treat everyone so nicely. The place is nicely decorated. The food is never to be questioned . I have eaten through the menu and have not found anything lacking. Know that when you stop here it is going to be a pleasure.

All of the food here is good to very good. However, the duck breast with yams and rice dressing is so good you won't believe your taste buds.
