I love this place! Great food! I make a point to go every time I'm in the area. They are very fast so there isn't much waiting around. My only complaint is that the wait staff seems to rush you out there. I hate being given the bill in the middle of my dinner! (Look lady I just got my meal, calm down.) This tiny place is usually packed any day of the week and is not my ideal atmosphere for Asian cuisine but I just can't pass up the food.

I believe this is the only Thai place in Monroe, but don't hold me accountable for that. That being said, this is a very decent and affordable place for your Thai cravings fix all in a small little building with friendly people. We had ordered the following items: -Pad Thai: chicken and noodles pad thai is pretty good here -Panang Curry: the chicken panang curry has very nice flavors and is delicious overall -Pepper Steak: I feel that there pepper steak is too chewy, and not seasoned enough, however, still edible -Yum Neau: an alternative to larb, with having bigger slices of meat, rather than ground meat, but same concept. Drenched in a spicy (depending on how spicy you want it), and lime, if you want more flavors, take it home to eat the next day. The flavor intensifies two times the day after! -Spicy Snowball Roll: being a Thai restaurant, they also offer sushi, which overall is very decent and not as expensive as your neighbor sushi restaurant. This roll is nice and creamy, with a delicious bite -Diablo Roll: although very messy, it has decent flavors, with some crunch (from all the fried toppings) Overall, I would eat this at this establishment again, being affordable and delicious doesn't always happen in the same place often these days, but you can count Rawz in.

This is more of a pan-Asian place than any particular sub-category. Dishes include pho noodles, stir-fry chicken/beef dishes v/veggies, etc., and a great place for sushi. This is the best place for sushi in town. They have a wide selection! Also, there is something for everyone here. My father usually hates Asian food, but he really likes one of their beef with vegetables dishes.

For the area this is fantastic. I have not been dissatisfied in numerous trips. If u want a well priced sushi roll or great saki or a number of great Panasian dishes (highly recommend the Tamarind Chicken) this is your place in the twin cities. Friendly, fast and attentive service and nice atmosphere as well.

A bit of a secret in Monroe, but it shouldn't be. The food, a mix of Korean, Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese, is delicious and moderately priced. It comes recommended.

Get the spring rolls and pho, skip the appetizer curry. I love love the pho. I've read some reviews accusing rawz of not giving enough fresh veg with the pho, but in my experience, that isn't the case. Didn't care for the orange chicken or grainy curry appetizer, but will definitely return to try the crispy panang curry fish. Definitely an asset in monroe where pho can seem harder to obtain than enriched uranium.

Great food, great staff, I've eaten here dozens of times and I always leave happy. I eat all their sushi and their pho soup is incredible.

Went here to try out the Pho since it was the only place in town that had it. Doesn't compare to real pho. Tastes like it was made from instant noodle packaging. The meatballs taste like hot dog wieners. Wouldn't recommend this. Sushi was kind of expensive too compared to other places. The service was great, but did take about 20 minutes for seating. Props to the big guy who catered to our needs.

Best sushi in Monroe, hands down. With over 100 sushi rolls to choose from, there is something here for every sushi lover. The service is good, though the atmosphere is a bit bland, but I come for the Alaskan roll, which is unlike any other Alaskan roll I've ever had in my life, amazing quality and presentation!

I used to think at one point in my past life that I really knew what good sushi was, back when I lived in South Florida. Living in North Louisiana, my options have gotten bleak and I actually started liking cafeteria style sushi from food courts. I swear there was nothing else -- either crappy cheap options or high-end super expensive places. Not any more, now that I discovered Rawz café! I had been very afraid to try this place and not sure what to expect, but I am SO thankful I did. It looks unappealing from the outside, but inside there is so much more. The staff are super nice, the food and menu is plentiful. (Bathrooms could use an upgrade though). Nothing, I mean nothing, has disappointed on this menu. We even brought my picky mother-in-law who doesn't like sushi, and she loved this place. This place has options for everyone! They have thai dishes and curry if you don't want sushi. They have cooked teriyaki dinners and other Japanese meals too if you don't like sushi. And they have raw sushi and cooked sushi. I have tried both but my husband prefers the cooked rolls, so that is what we go for. The pad thai has to be one of the best I've ever had and we share a plate everytime. The lobster fried rice is tasty and affordable! Our favorite roll we get everytime is the sushi pizza, three non-conventional seafood and rice topped on crispy wontons. It is sooo good, you'll thank me. I really am appalled that some people don't like it here based on the reviews. But whenever I've been, there is always a crowd and a wait. This place is always packed and popular to the locals and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. It's very casual, with kids and jeans allowed, and the prices are definitely not steep like another similarly named sushi place 30 minutes away. I think I've been 4 times in 3 months, which says something.

Decent Asian food. Not nearly as good as it once was. This place is NOT TOLERANT of the disabled. Those with disabled family members should avoid.

The place is ok for an Asian restaurant in a southern town, but since I've live in Hawaii and had real Asian food it wasn't that great in my opinion. The flavor if their food is also not consistent. I went their once and had some great fried rice but the next time and then on it was never the same. So I gave the place one last try and order like shrimp spring rolls and it was ok but I tasted something weird and ends up they had imitation crab along with shrimp in the spring roll, undisclosed on the menu, I absolutely despise imitation crab. I haven't been back since then.

I'm Asian and from New Orleans. I know good food. This place always fails in service but wins impeccably every time on food and flavor. Everyone who moves away after college hardly misses Monroe but almost every I know says they miss rawZ. The food dishes here are always very flavored! I'm a huge fan of almost every dish I've tried. What makes it great is that they're very reasonably priced. What I like: 1. I love their curry here. I've always gotten the green curry bc I don't eat spicy food (I don't substitute spice for flavor). However, I've recently tried their red curry and I think it's my new favorite. You choose your choice of meat 2. The thai basil chicken is delicious. Very flavored lean meat chicken with a bowl of rice. 3. Herbal chicken. The sauce you dip it with is delish! 4. Pad thai***** My boyfriend loves their pad Thai!! We travel a lot and eat out a lot...been to many Thai places...had a lot of pad thai... and he always craves rawz's pad Thai. Always! It's just...so good. You choose your choice of meat..he always gets beef! Any dish you try I think would be very satisfying. My friends get the sushi all the time. It's quite fresh but I don't really eat it here bc the entrees are just that good. There's a lot to choose from though. My friends are fiends for the tuna tower though and the Rawz roll. Now on to the bad part... The service here is bad. It's not horrible, but it's never been good. They rush you, I guess which is understandable since the area is so small and limited. BUT, they don't need to ask every 2 minutes if I'm ready to order. The staff can't really speak English well but they try with that, it's uncomfortable bc they seem either too friendly in a pushy way or too rude in the same pushy way. Other than that, who cares about service when the food is just that good. Rawz is like, the Asian comfort food. Get some!

Calling RawZ a sushi place is like calling the East River a nice place to go swimming. Out of a menu that is way too long to even pretend like anything here is made fresh, perhaps 10-12 of the rolls are actually raw. Everything is slathered in sauces so thick, greasy, and over the top that it makes tasting the food all but impossible. Everything is deep fried. The clean, simple flavors that are the foundation of sushi are nowhere to be found. But of course, this isn't just a sushi place. They are just as happy to butcher Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese food. There is equal opportunity for terrible food at RawZ. To cut this short, I feel terrible for people whose first experience with sushi happens here.

Absolutely awful and rude staff I ordered one thing and they brought me something else and then argued with me about what I ordered and then brought me what I ordered but charged me twice!!! Food is AMAZING but staff is awful.

Treated like royalty. This is my go to. I'm a chef and I've never had a bad meal here. Staff. Flavor. Speed. Value. Trust me on this. Jalapeño hamachi. Thom Kai. Pho. Sake. I love this place!

This place is always crowded for a reason! This is my go-to place for sushi. If you have a craving you will be more than satisfied here. Awesome selection of sushi, Asian dishes and sides. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Get your fix here!

Rawz Cafe is the fave of my relatives. Every time I visit, this is where they always take me. It's a small hole-in-the wall that serves Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese. I was impressed that Monroe got a place like this. And it seems to be very popular, because it's always crowded every time I visit. Most dishes seemed to be in the $6-10 range. Banh mi are about $3.50. Various appetizers were around $3. I loved their Thai tea (which is my fave drink)! I've never met a Thai tea that I didn't like...oh wait, scratch that. In Houston there is one place that ruined it. Did this restaurant use to be a dine-in Pizza Hut? 'Cuz that's how it feels/looks to me, except with a little renovation here and there. Maybe it's just me. My only negative was the restroom. I sure hope the lock works now. It's just a single room (well, one for women and one for men). I was in there and someone came walking in on me! Thankfully it was just my auntie, but still...it would've been very embarrassing! Decent service, decent food, great location....I know I'll be back the next time I'm in the area.

I have been here many times and have not been disappointed! Good sushi and Thai for Monroe....the Pad Thai is not good to me at all but the Basil chicken is awesome! It's really busy during lunch time and on weekends(of course). Parking is very limited. This place is a must if you're a sushi and Thai lover and in the area!

I ate here on 9-5-13. This is a really popular place in this city. It was really pack on the evening I went. Overall the food was good, the service was good also. I'd go again in the future.

The sushi here is amazing! Everything I have gotten has been good but the monster roll stands out as a favorite. The only complaints I really have are the service is subpar, always rushing you out of the door. Also, the sushi menu is composed of like 60-70 rolls so it's a little TOO extensive.

I guess the people of Monroe have been duped into thinking this is "good" Asian fare. All the reviews about the service really don't matter as long as the food is great. They do shuffle you in and out as quickly as possible but hey, it's a business. Let's start with the Tom Yum soup- something off about it, it was almost sweet and the flavor not developed at all- good amount of shrimp cooked perfectly but overall disappointed. Next the "basil" chicken- not nearly enough basil and I absolutely despise and cannot understand one bit why any restaurant would ever use old chicken- horrible taste that ruins the dish. Old chicken is chicken probably defrosted and laying around for a day or two or more in fridge. Chicken, if old, has a stench to it. Next the rice- clumpy and blah. And finally, one redeeming quality about this place is the sushi rolls- I had the Rawz roll (no. 16) - very good with a hint of smokiness in yellowtail sear. Overall, overpriced and where the conveyor belt mentality matters is in the quality which this place lacks.

Shopping at Pecanland, and the bf and I are craving pho. Made a search and RawZ came up so we hit the spot. The service is super fast, the food came out quickly, they're friendly people... The sashimi was good and cheap (a surprise combination). The pho lacked veggies but maybe I'm spoiled?? IDK it was the ONLY pho place we knew of... Not the extent of bean sprouts and greens, or even the chilli sauces... but the broth was SUPER GOOD and it hit the spot for me. The Thai food was great (because I think the place is run by Laotians). Definitely a place to hit up again, if I'm ever in town... Can't decide between Japanese sashimi, Vietnamese, or Thai food? Just go to RawZ!

Rawz has the best sushi in Monroe/West Monroe, in my opinion. Love to get the rainbow rolls here. They also have good Thai and other Asian foods. The orange chicken is terrific. Atmosphere is very nice; not overly fancy but very casual and cozy. Can get noisy and crowded at lunch time, but the service is always good.

My sister and her family eat here regularly and we have been wanting to try it. Problem is it is about 75 mins in the opposite direction of anything else we do. So we decided to suck it up one Fri/Sat nite and drive over just to eat here. Parking lot was very small, lucky to get a park. Walked in...it looked like a dive...a small dive. We were hustled around by a man who appeared to be the owner...where ever we chose to stand, we needed to be standing somewhere else. He then sat a party of exactly our size who came in after us...I honestly was thinking of leaving and if not for the length of the drive to get here I probably would have. We finally got seated and were trying to take in the menu and the waitress came around like what seemed to be every 30 secs asking us if we were ready to order. She ask at least 7 times that I counted. I was ready to one star the place and leave...then our first rolls came out. OMG! I can honestly say I have never had better sushi in the State of Louisiana. The waitress seemed to chill out after we ordered our first rolls and we ordered several more rounds of rolls as we tried different things on the menu. Service was actually very good after that with the waitress answering our various questions about the rolls and not rushing us...it was like some one turned a page somewhere and Chapter 2 started...and Chapter 2 was soooo much better than Chapter 1. The Ahi Tower was probably the best thing we had. You can see I did not one star the place...and every star over the first one they earned with the quality and originality of the sushi rolls. I don't recall a menu with such varied choices of rolls and in combinations we do not usually see. Price was about what we pay at other sushi places. They have pictures of most of their rolls on the menu...and what you see is pretty much what you get. The ride back was much shorter than the ride over as we smacked our lips and talked about what we liked most. The quality of the presentation, the taste, the sauces, the different rolls, the price, the Ahi Tower. Quick note, if you have eaten at the Rawz in Ruston (which I have not) I am told the quality of the food, the pricing, and atmosphere are completely different...so try this place out!

I must say, Rawz is a must place to eat if you're craving sushi and/or Thai food. Their service staffs are friendly (except for one lady) but can be a bit pushy as far as getting your order as soon as you sit down. It's always busy there so I guess that's their way of trying to rush you in and out. Back to the food, yummy ... Yummy .... Yummy!!! Some of my favorite cook sushi rolls are: Diablo, Yummy Yummy, Spicy Snowball, Temptation, and Godzilla. Even their raw sushi rolls are delicious. I suggest you try the Summer Roll,it is so refreshing. Some of my other favorites raw sushi rolls are the Crazy Maki, Geisha, and the Tango Roll. If you're not in the mood for sushi then try their Thai Menu. There's lots of tasty and delicious dishes. People have this impression that Thai foods are always spicy and in reality, it is. But here, you are able to adjust the level of spiciness in any of the dishes. My boyfriend love spicy food so he would normally get his dish at level 5; whereas, I would get mine at level 3, which I feel it has just enough kick to where I can enjoy the flavor of the dish. Some of my favorites Thai dishes are: Papaya Salad, Shrimp Pai Thai, Yum Neau, Spicy Tilapia, Larb Gar, and the Tom Yum Soup (seafood combo). I would give them a 5-star but had to lower it down to 4 because of one person. I believe her name is either Nicky or Kelly and I think she's the owner of the restaurant. Like I mention at the beginning of the review, all the staffs are friendly except for this lady. Every time I eat there, she always does something to ruin my dining moment. This last visit, I ask her to swap the utensil for soup spoon. She yank it out of my hand and never return with the replacement. Another occasion, several of our friends came in town so I figure this would be the best place to take them. I borrow a pen from the waitress so I can write down what we want to order. They don't have the normal Sushi checklist like you would find in other sushi restaurant so I figure this would be easier for our waitress. The waitress was fine with me doing that but then came that lady. Without saying anything, she took the pen from my hand. Overall, if you're hungry and in the area, definitely try this place out!

The BEST sushi I have ever come across. Rawz easily competes and wins against any high end sushi restaurant. The rolls are huge, fresh, unique AND cheap. Can't wait to go back. Service was excellent as well.

Great for sushi and curry. They are fast and the prices are better than other places in town. Their menu has a wide variety of dishes. I like to go there any chance I get.

The BEST sushi I have ever come across. Rawz easily competes and wins against any high end sushi restaurant. The rolls are huge, fresh, unique AND cheap. Can't wait to go back. Service was excellent as well.

Get some!
