This is a great dinner, the address on yelp is wrong, take exit 52 off of hwy 20, the appearance of the outside is not appealing and a bit of a turn off, however once inside the staff is very friendly and provided great service. The Cheeseburger are the best, the buns are so fresh, the onion rings are delicious, the biscuits and sausage gravy is so good, the pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon is amazing. This is real homemade food that is so good to have when traveling. The prices are very reasonable. This place is a must stop, for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I believe breakfast is served all day

We found this place on Yelp when traveling from Dallas to Florida. First, the location has moved. The new place is just off I-20 on La 532. 2193 Hwy 532. Second, this place is wonderful! Service is friendly. The seafood gumbo (offered only on Fridays) is some of the best I've ever had. Chock full of shrimp, crawfish, sausage, and okra. My girls and I all had Cajun burgers, one of the most unique burgers I have ever had. A homemade patty, topped with cheese, caramelized onions, jalapeños, and diced pork, all piled on a buttered bun. This was seriously a Diners, Drive-ins and Dives creation. The tater tots were ok but the thin cut fries were crisp and tasty. A nice respite from the road.

This little local diner is 2 minutes off the freeway. Prices and food are good, similar to fast food prices, but selections are more varied with breakfast served all day, salads, sandwiches and burgers. On the up side, the jalapeño corn nuggets (fried) were fresh and crispy with whole corn kernels inside. My BLT had just the right amount (not too much) mayonnaise. My husband's chili was tasty, although just warm, not hot. It's nice to have a server and not have to wait in line at a fast food counter. We didn't sample the homemade pies, but that might be another plus. On the medium-ok side, restrooms were acceptably clean, but could be updated. The silk ficus plant in the ladies' room could use showering off as it's pretty dusty. If speed is an issue, stick to fast food. If you're willing to wait for made-to-order food, try this!

Sorry. I don't agree with the rave ratings we read before stopping for a late breakfast. First it has moved. Now in a truck stop east of town. Bathrooms were disgusting (shared with truck stop). Service was VERY slow, and they weren't busy. The food was ok, but nothing to write home about. Would not stop there again.

A group of us were on our way back to Dallas from a wedding in MS when we decided to stop and eat somewhere for lunch. We Googled local restaurants and saw this place had good reviews on Urban Spoon, so we decided to check it out. It's just a few miles off I-20, very easy access. It's an old fashioned diner with a long bar to sit at and half a dozen tables and booths. We took a corner table with big windows all around us. The food was much better than expected. You just never know walking into old diners, but the food was impressive considering the environment. Must tries... - Fried pickle spears. The breading was incredible. - Sweet tea. Ohhhhhh my gosh, it was the sweetest tea I've ever had, and I loved it. It had SO much sugar in it, but I'm a sweets lover. One of my other friends didn't care for it because it was extraordinarily sweet, but I was so happy and even took a glass to go. Other wonderful items... - Okra. It was crispy and tasty! - Banana pudding. It was VERY heavily flavored with banana, so if you like that, you will like their pudding! - Grilled chicken salad. The grilled chicken was chopped in bite size pieces and so juicy. Not like the typical chicken you get on salads, very good and freshly cooked! - Smoked pork butt. A few of my friends had this and enjoyed it, you just have to deal with some gristle like usual for this type of meat. The scalloped potatoes were ok, but you could opt for something else and not miss out on anything special. I would go back if I ever took another trip east on I-20 and needed a bite to eat.

Beanie and Bubba's Grill is one of the best places in Minden for lunch. Food is great. The grilled chicken sandwich is outstanding. They just added a sour dough bun option that makes this sandwich even better. The french fries are a really good. Service is always friendly and quick. ---Edited 9 Feb 2013 We had to stop eating here regularly for lunch because you need every bit of an hour and probably need 75 mins to get lunch. Food is excellent and we still like to go when we have plenty of time to eat.

We were passing through on our way back from the Juke Joint Festival. We had been lacking good food on our four day, four state trip. Upon entering you could tell that this was a waffle house in a previous life. DO NOT let that throw you off however. We all ordered the Smoked Chicken and Ribs combo special. Moist, succulent, falling off the bone expertly rubbed and smoked heaven is what we found. Even the sides of twice baked potatoes and Kentucky beans were perfect. The coconut pie dessert was so AMAZING like a sticky coconut macaroon chess pie! We bought the whole pie! The service was so warm and welcoming and we made sure the owner knew they deserved a big ole kiss for making our food highlight of the trip.
