Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

I took my guys here after work yesterday. It was Monday night football and we got there at about 7pm. Loads of space in here and we were able to sit in the bar near a tv. Some people started with the Guinness milkshake which they said was good but had very little Guinness in it. All the drinks here are pretty weak but nice. I had the blackberry mojito. It was weak but tasted good. TGI Fridays isn't the cheapest place and I think for after work drinks people want to taste some alcohol. We shared some starters. The jack Daniels sampler and green bean fries, buffalo chicken and loaded potatoes. It was good. It was all hot and we ordered another round of the chicken. The waiter was kind of odd. Maybe he was just nervous but he really didn't strike me as shy. Sometimes he just hung around the table when there was nothing for him to do. It was sort of awkward but also pretty funny. At one point someone asked him if he needed anything and he said "I'm just earwigging" strange dude!! I'd probably go back but it wouldn't be my first choice.

TERRIBLE! They never buzzed our party while we were waiting, so nearly 2 hours later, we checked with the hostess & they squeezed our party of 8 into a round booth. Fine. We were STARVING. We ordered the sampler appetizer & 2 drinks from the bar. We were never asked for our drink orders. Approximately an hour and a half later, we received our entrees. The appetizer was completely forgotten & we got our drinks from the bar after the entrees. NO ONE'S food was hot. Everyone asked for waters at this point sine we had all been siting there with nothing to drink. My burger was garbage, & the chicken & shrimp Alfredo tasted like they poured liquid crab boil into the sauce; unbearably spicy. (And I love spice!) The salmon was dry, but ok. We finally received the bill & were informed that they could not split it. Fine. I divided what everyone should owe, wrote it on separate sheets of paper & wrapped them around each card. The waitress proceeded to charge it how she wanted anyway & would only take 1 card to the register at a time. Wth?! Checking my bank account today, I have TWO charges on my card... So now, I get to waste more of my time with this hellhole because I have to call the manager. NEVER AGAIN.

Went in a few weeks ago. was seated and my wife and I sat there for 20 min before anyone said anything to us. Finally when I asked for a manager and told him we had not ever seen a server I witnessed the server and the manger arguing because we were not in her section and she did not want to serve us. really? So of course I walk out and told the manager obviously you guys don't need my money. Horrible. Just horrible

Drove around for a bit and was really hungry so I decided to stop by here since I never had TGI Fridays before. I normally try to stay away from reviewing franchises and what not, but my experience here was not so great. For some reason I never thought to yelp this place before coming in, I was silly to assume that it couldn't be bad. Once I sat down though I checked my trusty yelp app and lo and behold it had a loooow rating, especially one written by my cousin last year. Still, I thought it couldn't be that bad....let me explain... It started off nice since we were seated right away. It was pretty crowded inside so I thought it was a good choice. Our waitress comes to our table with a sarcastic yet upbeat attitude and orders our drinks. A while later my sister's drink comes out and I thought it was pretty fast since it was a specialty cocktail. My drink was just coke and it took about 10 minutes for it to come. Seriously....how long does it take to grab a cup and just pour a soda for 5 seconds into it. First strike. Then we ordered food and the wait was sooooo long. I was so hungry it took way to long for the food to come. We had fried cheese-sticks for an appetizers and they weren't bad but nothing amazing. My entree was the bruschetta pasta. It was soooooo oily. Too much oil and not enough tomato. The chicken was alright, but I just could not finish the thing. My sister had a burger and it was average. Nothing amazing about this place and I will probably never come here again. On a side note..what is their uniform supposed to be? The hostess had a Kim Kardashian shirt on. Interesting.....

If you enjoy GHETTO waitresses, no refills, and crappy food that may or may not have been spit in...this is the place for you! We used to eat here a lot, but it's gone way downhill since it first opened. It's not worth your time, trust me. There are way too many other places around Metairie that are so much better.

Okay . . . I'm a fan, but NOT of the restaurant . . . didn't eat . . . the bar was FANTASTIC! They had the cutest, sexiest, most charming and fun gorgeous bartender named Jonathan . . . he was so nice to everyone, so attentive to all the people at the bar, and fixed me the most amazing drink called a "Volcano" . . . the drink was great, but HE is why I will return!

  • Jo W.

I ate in the bar to avoid the wait and seated myself promptly. Our server was good, not great but good. He answered any questions we had and our food was brought out in a timely fashion. The food wasn't amazing, but it does fit Fridays standard and from that point of view it was good. The drinks were well made also.

Went with colleagues for a quick lunch bite. Food was pretty good, service was good. Nothing too quick about it. Sure we'll be back! Love the $699 soup and salad!

Beyond bad is all I can say. Bad food. Bad service. Not clean. Certainly won't be back. My steak was so tough that I didn't eat it. Two people at our table ordered the same thing, only one steak was well done and a salad with blue cheese dressing, and the other was medium well and a salad with ranch dressing. Well they mixed up the two plates and since one of us starting eating, they had to remake the other. They had to remake the other person's steak three times. The wedge salad took over 20 minutes and came with ranch dressing sprinkled with blue cheese crumbles instead of blue cheese dressing. The server was overworked and her timing was way off. The manager was zero help and didn't even offer an apology when he came to the table. He just comped part of the meal without even saying that he was. We were actually using a coupon anyway from bad service we received on a previous visit. Just save yourself the headache and disappointment and go somewhere else. There are tons of other, better, places in the area. TGI Friday's really needs to take action on the performance of this franchisee as they are hurting the overall image of the brand.

Went back tonight at the request of my sister. It did not disappoint. The service was garbage and the food was as if there weren't real cooks on the back, just the service staff throwing crap into a microwave. How the hell is this place still open??? Especially in the food Mecca of the world???

So I love Fridays, especially when I see underage people try to sit at the bar top. When the bartender ids the individual and she and her father throw a fit because his underage daughter can't risk the business from losing their liquor license to serve them there. Instead they go sit at a booth and write a nasty review for no reason... It's like dinner and movie here. Trash needs to go back to IHOP and McDonald's where they belong. Bye Felicia.

I come here on a regular that i am a stripes member and it's pretty cool...The prices are nice especially if you are on a budget..there are tvs inside so you can keep yourself entertained. The service depends on how busy the day is. Yesterday, our waiter was great. .she did an awesome job.She was attentive and accommodating. The people in the kitchen messed up my order and she fixed it without charging me extra. The problem here is that there drinks are weak, even when you ask for Top shelf, it is still not strong. The deserts are filling and a nice portion.

I hate to leave a bad update, however this Friday's deserves it. The wait staff is very forgetful which is the main annoyance. You have to ask for a refill several times, wait for silverware or napkins, which should be customary. Also you have to double check your bill because they will overcharge and charge you for premiums (cheese, bacon) that you never received.

    (2)
  • Carlotta D.

Wow. Manager on duty much??? That would be "no". Tables needed to be bused, bar staff had vulgar mouths. If the manager's not there you know the food is not going to be good. Veggie burger still pretty good. Food quality took a nose dive in the last several weeks. Beer is awesomely ice cold. So go for brews and snacks to watch the game; not dinner or a date. Ah well, it is Friday's, not Commanders. Try it anyway, You might have a better experience.

Great service! Very polite! Spacious atmosphere! Speedy delivery of food and drinks! Like the art work and the decorations. There is no changing station/table! That's a major downfall if you have kids like me! Parking lot is small could be bigger. Will be eating here again.

Slow service. Extremely noisy. Worst salad I have ever had wilted, poorly made and bad presentation. Expensive for what you get. They have closed these all over town and on the Northshore, yet they open another location on Veterans. How long till this one closes?

I'm only giving one star because the app won't let me leave no stars. Service was horrible. Hostesses were super friendly, but once we were seated the server skipped over us more than once and went to other tables that had been seated after us. The restaurant was practically empty. Very very few tables. We never got drinks, we never even got greeted. Very annoyed at the lack of service and the possible judgement that occurred when we sat down.

  • Ian K.

Came here to only be ignored and unattended to. So upon being seated not a single server spoke to us. Even after two couples came in after us, seated near us and we're already being served drinks. I'm a gay man who was wearing high heels and a unicorn wig, I'm sure they didn't miss me, nobody could. I will say the hostesses were nice and welcoming but that's it. It's really no wonder most of the ratings are only one star.

Took forever for the Waitress to acknowledge me. Ordered the 9 oz wine, brought me the 6 oz and argued that it was 9 oz. 2nd glass I asked her if she thought the this glass of wine would over flow in an 8 oz measuring cup. She said of course not, well then it can't be 9 oz. she was clueless but did get manager who comp a glass of wine. Too many great restaurants in this area to come back here.

Stopped at this Friday's just because and ordered a burger and endless appetizers. The service was prompt, our waiter was courteous( thank you Ms. Janae), and the food was good. That was all I was expecting from this establishment and they delivered. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

I travel a lot and my experience with chain restaurants is that they vary in service and food quality by quite a bit. This Fridays definitely exceeds others I have been to. Service (I ate at the bar) was excellent, very friendly and attentive. Food was also outstanding, I had the sizzling chicken and spinach, a great low/no carb meal. Only reason for 4 stars is it is a chain but I recommend this restaurant highly.

Worst dining experience ever!! Fridays on Veterans. DO NOT EAT HERE! 1.Beetle bug in my food 2.Manager on Duty should be fired ( Carl) Never once apologized about a bug being in my food, said it didn't come from from the restaurant. No compensation whatsoever. Horrible service on his behalf. As a manager he could have handled the situation better then what he did . Corporate Friday's will here about this . Eat safe nola will also here about this complaint. I never want to eat out at a restaurant again after what I saw, almost ate, and experienced. STOP ! DO NOT EAT HERE PLEASE!!

Ok. I should've known better. I don't like to go to chains, especially when we have so many local gems, but we were hungry and it was right there, so when K suggested it, I said, "Ok." We walked in and had an option to wait five minutes to get seated in the dining area or to sit in the bar area rightaway. We didn't think much about the pros and cons of each area and just wanted to get seated and eat. So we said we'd sit in the bar area. It was really, really loud. But I was okay with it. Whatever. We ordered an appetizer, the Jack Daniels Sampler, and our server gave us some more time to decide on the main. When she came back, I told her it was my birthday on Friday and whether I get anything special for my birthday. She said that she would give me a sundae after our meal. Okay. The Sampler was meh. The "Jack Daniels" sauce was way too sweet and definitely not good enough to use on all three apps in the sampler. I stupidly ordered a steak and K got the "philly burger." Why I thought it was a good idea to order a $10 sirloin steak, I have no idea, but my taste buds were definitely too spoiled to enjoy this steak. I ordered it to be medium rare, and it was probably more like a medium, with a hot pink center, and not tender at all. I couldn't believe I had to chew so much I kept checking the meat to make sure it wasn't well done. I got it with the lobster topping, which was fine. The broccoli was overcooked but okay and the parmesan steak fries were probably the best part of the meal. K didn't complain about his burger during the meal but later when we talked about whether we would go back to this place he said that the burger wasn't a philly burger at all. The worst part was that when K asked for the check, the server just brought us the check. She didn't say, "Do you still want the sundae?" and she did not bring it out. How do you volunteer to give me a complimentary dessert and either forget or ignore it like that never happened? They weren't super slammed and I know people forget things but come on. But we were glad to get out of the place to go home. We will not be returning.

Wished I could have given this a no star rating. From the Hostess to the server to the food, it was absolutely horrible. Will never, ever waste my time by stopping by this establishment again. My husband and I went here because I had been wanting their spinach dip, and that was the worst experience I ever had at a restaurant. They sat us and the waitress took forever to come and take our drink order. Then we finally ordered appetizers and our drink. After we looked at the menu we ordered dinner and never got our order. The waitress kept coming to tell us it would be ready soon. Then she finally said its ready after 1 hour wait. Then anoher person came to apoligize the food was taking long. We got so frustrated after waiting an 1 1/2 and only getting our appetier that wasnt even that great. I asked to speak to the manager. We were told the food was ready and nothing came. Finally we were so done we just told the manager we didnt want it anymore. He took care of the check for the appetizer and drinks and we found another place to eat. Which was a million times better then this place. I was truly dissapointed.

I came here for dinner about 2 weeks ago with an old co-worker of mine. As soon as you walk in you're greeted by the hostess and quickly seated at a table. That is if they're not too busy during peak hours. I haven't had any seating troubles yet since I usually end up there right before the rush. We're soon met after by our waiter/waitress and given time to peruse our menus. The two times I've gone we've chosen from the special menu, which ranges from $9.99-16.99. You get the choice from a selected menu but you get an appetizer, entre, and dessert of of it. However, it depends which option you choose because the $9.99 one only allows you to chose an appetizer and entree. I was feeling the need for a drink after my stressful week, but I was weary by how much alcohol would be in the drink. I'm normally not a drinker and the last time I had drank was over a year ago. The shaker I got barely had alcohol I believe, then I remembered the bestie saying the last drink she got barely contained any. Her friend had to ask for more alcohol to be added into her cup. So if you're looking to be hit hard ask for me liquor. The food is so-so to me. The only thing I love is their bean cheese dip. Haven't found an entree I'm in love with yet. It's very seldom I come to TGIF because my friends don't particularly care for it.

Uh, it's a Friday's? Had a decent server but not sure about the other staff, weren't super friendly. Bathrooms were nasty. It costs as much as fast food so not sure what people are expecting.

Lets start from the beginning why don't we...we had a party of 12 and the host(bday boy) of the get together called a week ahead to make a reservation. He was told to call back mid week to confirm. When he called mid week he was told to arrive an hour before his reservation time. what? When he arrived, He then was told they can only seat you when the entire party has arrived. So he sat out in the 100 degree heat waiting for everyone to arrive and we were finally seated 30 min AFTER our original reservation time. When we spoke to the manager, he said yea sorry we're trying to work out the kinks and that was that. We ordered the appetizer sampler(cheese sticks, chicken wings and pot stickers. Half of it was cold and it all tasted just as good as the hole in the wall bar food down the road. We also ordered frozen strawberry margaritas-they are no drink prices anywhere on there "book" of drinks but since we were celebrating we took the gamble. We ended up paying $100 for dinner: 3 frozen drinks,an app sampler(my entree), half rack ribs, 2 kids meals and one childs dessert Do you know how many better places I would have loved to take my family out for $100?!? UGH

THE WORST TGIF I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!! walked in and was seated quickly. (Group of 4) Our waitress started off doing very well. Gave us recommendations and asked if we needed time. We ordered a few appetizers and they came out in a cool enough time. However, one of the steak knives that were wrapped in a napkin was full of rust and water spots. I didn't mind it at first and just requested plastic. Waitress grab the silverware and stated, "oh, they must have didn't notice." No apology was given. Entrées came out and food tasted normal. It's Friday's. My friend was done with her pasta and had some broccoli left over. She began to eat on it and noticed something in the head of the broccoli that resembles a bug. And what do you know, it's a dead bug. She flicked it into the plate in order to show our waitress. Waitress walked over with the checks because we were about to head out and we told her about the bug. She immediately grab the and stated, "let me show this to the manager." As if it was protocol if a customer finds a bug in their food. From where we were sitting, we could see the hostess and manager standing in front the entrance. As the waitress shows the plate with the bug, they both laughed and looked at our table. Seeing that was hurtful. They brought the plate to the back and our waitress returned and stated, "I'm waiting on the manager to see what he wants to do." Again, no apology. After about 15 minutes, the manager approaches our table, smiling of course, stating, "I heard that there was a problem with a bug." AGAIN, no apology. We all answered, "yes!" He then went on to say, "well, there's no way that bug came from our food and therefore I'm not taking it off the bill." Wait, what?! My friends and I are a couple of young black professionals who can afford a $15 meal. In no way were we trying to get a free Meal. I asked if he thought that she had brought the bug in with her and put it in her food. We are all at the table in shock and disbelief of his response. Carl, which was the manager's name, stood over us smiling and telling us that the bug didn't come from the food. He told us the all broccoli is washed before cooked and how there's no way a bug could've been in it. I asked if he was serious and he stated, "yes, so I'm not taking it off the bill." At this point I am very upset, angry and disappointed and requested the bill to come quickly. He's says ok and calls for the waitress. And yes, you've guessed it, NO APOLOGY. While waiting on the bill, Carl returns to our table, still smiling, to ensure that we understood what was going to happen. I asked Carl to remove himself from our presence because there was nothing else to speak about. He walks off smiling with no apology given, again. My friend was really shocked and wanted to chat with Carl so he approached Carl at the hostess stand. My friend asked why would it not be a bug from the restaurant and Carl stated, "BECAUSE THERE IS NO BUTTER OR PEPPER ON THE BUG." Yes folks, those are the exact words from Carl's, the manager, mouth. My friend laughed and reminded Carl that this was horrible customer service and he will not make it far as a manager with such stupidity and carelessness. As we are walking out, the hostess screams, "bye, have a nice night." So we left without an apology. Especially from Carl, THE MANAGER. My friends and I were not looking to get a free meal, but a simple apology and a little acknowledgment would have done fine by us. By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in all of my existence We will not be returning. Under any circumstance. JUST HORRIBLE.

For some reason, Friday's is my 12 year-old son's favorite place to eat, so we have visited their west bank location quite a few times in the last two years. My lasting impression with the chain as a whole is that service can be either hit or miss, which makes a huge difference in the dining experience. Our last several experiences have definitely been misses. So, we decided to venture out and give the location in Metairie a try. It's been a good choice so far. Walking up to the front door, we were created by a hostess holding the door open for us, with a genuine smile in place. Our waitress was very friendly and, more importantly, helpful. In addition, the restaurant was clean and well appointed. If I had to guess, I would say this location had been built or remodeled in the last 5 years. The food was par for typical Friday's fare: flavorful but nothing special. Neither of us had any complaints. We came for a weekday lunch and were one of only a dozen parties, so this may have a huge impact on the quality of service. They passed with flying colors for now, but the true test would be on a Saturday night for sure!

They are average. The endless apps were good, and the Jack Daniels burger was good. The server spoke too softly for us to hear her, which doesn't work in a loud place. The location in Harvey is better. This location always seems to have a one hour wait, even at 9 PM on a Saturday night. Service is hit and miss, inconsistent at best.

I enjoyed my alcoholic beverage. The bartender was just ok. Everything was as expected and ok. I did love my cotton candy cosmo and my cajun pasta.

Service was the worst, food was okay, and atmosphere was uneasy. Not my scenery. When walking in, you're immediately seated(depending on whether it's crowded or not). When seated, it took about 10 minutes for our server to not only come, but also forget to bring something to write our order down and ask for drinks/appetizers. We ordered cheese sticks, wings, and loaded potato skins for appetizers. We saw our server at other tables and after 20 minutes later, our appetizers came out and someone from the kitchen brought it out(not our server). We weren't sure whether our server forgot to put our order in or.... The only thing that was good and really pleasing were the cheese sticks. I would definitely suggest cheese sticks! BEST I've ever had honestly. The wings were dry and cold, as well as potato skins. The burgers were good too. We asked for honey mustard and the honey mustard came out after we were done eating. Our table wasn't cleared after eating appetizers and it was done with, the small plates were remained there after our food came out, and our waiter checked on us one time. Towards the end when we were done eating and asked for the check, our server then brought out water. The food was okay, but the service was terrible. I don't think I'll be coming back.

is it possible to give negative stars???? no really.. All the warning signs were there to include the 18 wheeler off loading boxes of frozen french fries and meat when we pulled up... but oh how I ignored those flags. If you want to kill 2 hours with bad food and even worse service, this is your spot! I hang my head in shame because honestly I should have known better than to brave TGI Friday's but we couldn't decide what to eat and were starving and thought since it is fairly new, we would give it a whirl. After a 20 minute wait... yes we had to wait to endure the abuse we finally were seated. Our less than attentive waiter who honestly seemed put out that we even existed took our order, that was a quick relationship as we didn't see him again until it was time for us to wave him down like a person stranded on a desert island to get our check. We had a little one in our party so the kids food was ordered right away. Let's talk about the Friday's menu for a minute shall we, it is AWFUL bougie for a family restaurant. $10 hamburgers, $14 pasta dishes... really??? I mean I could go to Port of Call or Yo Mammas and get an amazing burger for that price and a pasta dish at many 4 star places in the city that would blow the socks off of their offerings. Apparently Friday's thinks they are pretty darn special! and by special I mean, expensive. So let's talk about the food. I got the burger because, amidst the myriad of crazy food combination meal choices (chicken, mango, and avocado salad I am talking to you), it seemed the safest bet. So how do you ask did my $10 hamburger come out??? I asked for medium well and it came out very well done with absolutely no juice.. and the size? equivalent to a regular hamburger at any fast food place. I honestly wanted to ask a manager if they mistook it for a child's burger.. but I will get to that later. There are truly no real healthy options, in addition to the crazy combinations of ingredients, everything has a thick sauce or is deep fried and don't fall for the "multi grain pasta" trick it's basically your traditional pasta. Service?? service??? no really.. can I can some SERVICE! Our waiter (the one who we saw like a flash in the night when he took our order, yeah that guy) was non existent. The child's food came out quick, the rest of our food didn't arrive for another 40 minutes, I wish I was joking. When it came, it was cold and burnt (they like to defy the laws of physics at Fridays apparently) and completely underwhelming. The flashy menu and descriptions of their bougie overpriced family restaurant food are a worse bait and switch than the average used car lot. On top of that, when it did come the lady that brought it did the coolest waiter move I have ever seen. Have you ever seen someone literally keep walking and drop/slide a plate at your table all at the same time? Well this chick had that move down! As she did it she said a quick "here ya go babe" ahh the joys of dining in Metry. Now that's talent! We never got condiments for the burger and never got a drink refills until... wait for it... after we paid our bill, because that's really when you need a refill. The best part was not even our waiter dropped the refills off. It was someone else who seemed rather confused and even said to us "I was told you needed refills," umm yeah about an hour ago that would've been greeeeeeaaaat (in my best Bill Lumbergh voice) There was one female manager present that we could see and she was so busy comping other tables' meals that even though we asked to speak to her, after waiting 30 minutes she still never made it to the table. We gave up since the stomach cramps started kicking in after this multi hour abuse session. We tried to call after to ask for a manager but guess what? No one ever picked up our phone call.. imagine that! Who I am most upset with about this experience you might ask? MYSELF! I knew better than to go to a place like this and I paid for it... boy did I pay for it. Throw in an upset stomach for several hours after, to add insult to injury. After all of this I need to give myself a big hug and a dozen roses to apologize.. Seriously, save yourselves and go elsewhere! The only joy I got from this experience was writing this review, so to Yelp 5 stars for allowing me to vent my frustrations, I heart you!

Absolutely horrible. Won't ever be back. waited thirty minutes for our waiter to find us, another 10-15 for drinks, then we decided to just get our food to go, since the service as so below acceptable our food would have been cold by the time we were actually served anyways.especially since they sat a party of 10 with several loud screaming toddlers next to us. such a shame, since i do love their food, and the prices are great. i've eaten at tgi fridays in other cities and states and never had this problem, so it must just be this location being poorly run. wont ever be back, unless its to pick up takeout.

So, I cannot really say much about this place...we were promptly seated, orders taken, and drinks delivered. It didn't take long for the food to come out at all, but perhaps a little more time would have been a good thing, because my friends chicken dish was RAW. Inexcusable. Instantly losing both of our appetites, we told the waitress we would just be leaving. The manager came over quickly after with an apology, asking if she could get us anything else (um, not a chance), and assured us that she already confronted the cook and it would not happen again. Not that I will find out, though, because I will certainly never be returning to this establishment.

Went in on a Sunday night at 8:30pm and was excited to see that they were open till 1am. However that is the only positive thing I can say about this Restaurant. It was total pandemonium in there. The Hostess was Rude she would not seat us in a booth even though there were plenty booths available. We got crammed in to a table that we could barely pull the chair out enough to sit down. We waited 20 min and was not even greeted. I over heard people waiting 1 hour plus and still no food was served. We Got up and walked out and had a great meal at Houstons.

Same menu as everywhere, good classic American. The service in the bar during lunch hour is horrible, been 10 times and always takes longer than at a table. A great addition to Veterans blvd lunch scene though.

THE WORSE PLACE IN THE WORLD TO EAT!!!!!!! Management is a joke, the service is awful and the food wasn't very good either! I will never return to this location and probably won't visit any other location in the New Orleans area! TGI Fridays' corporate management really needs to mystery shop the Metairie location.

Was in town on a family matter and the group decided to eat here. We were a party of 10, but we were seated right away since there were not many people inside. The waiter came out and took our drink orders and asked if everything was going on one check or should he split them. We informed him that the checks would be split and it didn't seem to bother him. After taking orders for our main course, some family members did not see anything on the menu that wanted. Since there was a whole Foods nearby, we walked over and picked up some food there and brought it back to the restaurant. They didn't have a problem with us doing this, which was greatly appreciated. Our main course took a while to come out, so some family began eating their meal which was purchased from Whole Foods while the rest of us waited for our orders. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal once it arrived. With such a large group, the waiter was very attentive to the needs of each person and did not wait for us to call something to his attention. After we finished eating, he presented everyone with the correct bill for meals in their party.

Well...it's a very nice Fridays as Fridays go, but the service is slipping. Two people in our party of four waited for their food for over an hour. We got ours and are it and finally theirs came out. They need to get it going there, or this place might be closing soon.

We usually eat here when I have enought stripes to get a free entree. Every time we go, the service is slow. I don't know why but it is. Slow service starts to take away from your overall experience. I mean ordering drinks does not take 20-30 minutes but here it does. You definitely can't be in a rush to eat here. It's a good place. They just need better staff.

One star is way too generous. Parking, even with a private lot, is a huge pain in the butt! But let's down to the food! I tried both a steak and some sort of pasta. Way too salty!!! The waiters and waitresses are just horrible. Let's just say they're like fast food workers who hate their jobs and do below the bare minimum. But then expect a 20% tip. They're lucky I didn't ever walk out leaving no tip, which is what they actually deserve. Overall, don't go here unless you like terrible service and are aiming for hypertension. You're better off going to Chili's.

About TGI Friday

TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.

Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.
