We used to have "breakfast club" nearly every Sunday morning with 3 of my close g/f's & often a few other stragglers. This went on for about 3 years varying between 9am-11am, hanging out for a while after. Half the staff was sweet & awesome, the other didn't listen, or didn't speak much English &/or were to busy playing with their hair. I loooove iced mochas, made with espresso & chocolate, they serve regular ones & a "puccinos mocha", a super sweet pre-mixed concoction. Sometimes I didn't mind accidentally receiving the sweet, but you'd think after 3 years, more than one barista would remember or would listen well enough to make it correctly. During this last year our visits have become less & less frequent, due to horrific service, inability to communicate, over cooked food & not being able to order the same items suddenly one week to the next (like french fries, cause their hash browns changed 3 times in one month, so switched to the sriracha fries, then suddenly with much attitude, they weren't available any longer at brunch). So I went earlier this week, hoping to get a slightly overpriced turkey avocado wrap, never knowing if I'll have a mound of turkey or lettuce; either way, it sounded healthier than a few other options. However their menu has now, apparently, also been completely butchered. So, not seeing anything else to eat appealing, I went ahead & just ordered my coffee, after my typical 30 second "not the Puccino's iced mocha, but one with espresso, sometimes ya'll like to call it "iced latte with mocha", just NOT the stuff from the jug." spiel, I was over charged, for a total of $6 for a freaking iced mocha, which I deemed not worth arguing about. My coffee definitely had espresso, but I'm 99% sure it's just a latte. This has been the proverbial "final straw" for me for this location. However with the menu likely being ruined at all locations, my days visiting Puccinos, I believe, are over... **It did specifically seem to be the vets location with the terrible service, The one on Dickory ALWAYS has the nicest staff & never once messed up my drink!!!

Having been to other locations, we decided to try this one for convenience, I will not be back. First, our lunch order took 30 minutes to arrive after ordering, when the place was basically empty. The food was sub par, tomato soup tasted and looked like tomato sauce used for a pasta dish. The ceaser wrap with chicken was bland with dry chicken and barely any dressing. The positives were the decor and the iced coffee. I hope the business isn't getting too big with to many locations. Customer service and quality of food should come before quantity.

I'm not a frappe, mocha, frozen latte kinda gal. So when I find a good cup of black coffee that's not chickory (sorry NOLA!) I am happy. Found it here and my mother in law, who is into the foo foo coffees, loves this place.

I love this place! **WARNING** The Frozen Puccinos can be addictive!! I've been going here for a couple years. Everything I've tried has been top notch...including their food. I love the ambiance of the place also. They have all kinds of kitschy stuff decorating the place and cool music too. It's a great place to meet up with a friend or friends to visit. They have comfortable seating inside and they have tables outside too. For the lovely humid/hot times here, they have fans with misting water, so you can actually sit outside. My favorite item there is definitely the Frozen Puccino. It is insanely good! The prices tend to be a little bit on the higher side, but the quality of everything is worth it.

The ridiculousness of Puccino's is extraordinary. Imagine a TGI Friday/Applebee's decor, with random "Flair" all over the walls, "ITALIAN" (and by Italian, I mean Olive Garden style Italian) sayings painted on the walls, and really really really cheesy "Italian" music blaring all over, and this is it. It's the antithesis of what people usually look for in a coffeeshop. It's loud, the decor is busy, it's super brightly lit, and noisy. The pluses is that the food here is pretty good. Good breakfast menu, 2 for 1 breakfast egg sandwiches, and the chicken salad sandwich on their lunch menu is really good. The coffee isn't bad, they have a special coffee that is a 16oz black coffee plus a shot of espresso for $2. I also like that they have tons of flavored creamers on hand. I know, that's probably blasphemous, but I dig it. My favorite ridiculousness of this place is the exorbitant prices of the foodstuffs they have at the point of purchase area. I saw a box of Pocky snacks priced at $13. You can get that at Target for #4, and at an Asian market for $2. They have "imported" snacks and cookies that are offensively overprices. Hazelnut wafers for $10? You can get those at Cost Plus for $3. Haribo Gummi Bears for $8, ($2 at any Walgreens) Take a peek at their wares one day. It's laughable. So, while I have found a few things I like at this place, overall, it's not a great place. Also, they have had 2for1 coffee specials on Tuesdays FOREVER, and they give out coupons for it EVERY DAY, but if you don't have one of those coupons on that weekly 2for1 day, they won't give you the special. That's pretty ridiculous. I only come here because it is close to where I work, and I like flavored creamer.

I went with my mom for the first time tonight. My mom is a regular and was greeted by name by the friendly counter staff. They made some menu recommendations. I had blackened shrimp salad. Mom has chicken salad salad. Both were delicious. Excited to return soon!! Enjoyed their turtle desserts- mmmm! The shortbread cookie texture is wonderful and the chocolate buttercream a nice compliment.

I've been to this place once, and I had an excellent experience. The ambiance is wonderful. It is very reminiscent of Italy. The music. The flashy decor. The coffees. The food. They also serve wine and beer. So, it pretty much caters to anyone. I highly recommend this place to anyone that just wants to try something new. I found the employees to be super helpful and friendly. And the service was excellent. I also enjoyed my coffee beverage. But, I would mostly recommend this place for an afternoon rendezvous with a close friend or a cup of coffee with dessert after a good meal. A great local place!

Bad customer service! Only place I know that charges for wifi then on top of that they want you to spend $5 for every 2 hours of wifi code you want!! What a rip off. They don't have to worry about my business anymore.

It's obvious that Puccino's doesn't want to attract the college crowd that likes to drink coffee, eat overpriced food, and study. Ignoring the big signs declaring that you cannot study in a booth, the place is filled with loud "Italian" music. There are only four booth and about a dozen or so small tables, so seating is pretty limited. Throw in a lack of free wifi and it's not a good place to catch up on anything that requires a laptop or tablet. This was the first coffee shop I've been in in years that didn't offer free wifi. Even Starbucks does that. I wasn't particularly impressed with either of the items on my order. The cappuccino was passable. I also had the 5200 Avenue Bagel, which was ok but a bit greasy. To be honest, I don't see why people would choose this over any of the dozens of other coffee shops in the area.

  • Michele N.

So disappointed with this place! For one they are overpriced! Two, I had no idea after spending $15 plus tip on two drinks and a small slice of banana bread that I had to pay for wifi! Three, there were no plug outlets to be found at the booth or near it except by the single round tables. The barista seem to be nice but I am not impressed with this place. The menu is very simple and doesn't seem to offer much. Highly doubt I would be back when I can get free wifi elsewhere with better coffee. Also minimum $5 purchase when using a debit/credit card.

  • Huyen N.

Worst coffee shop ever. Overpriced drinks and not a huge selection. There's plenty of seats, but no outlets to plug in your computer if you're a college student. They also charge for wifi.

    (1)
  • Audrey H.

I have to pay for wifi? Why should I do that? This place is a cute place to hang out, and they have little trinkets and art on the wall, but I had the worst latté that I have ever sipped here. Come here if you hate Starbucks or PJ's, which are right by. They have a drive-thru too, which is nice.

Any time I am at Lakeside, I have to stop in at Puccino's. They have really good beverages, I've never had the opportunity to eat the food there, but everything I have had to drink is satisfying. My complaints are that I can't order an iced mocha with skim milk. It is already premixed so I have to order an iced latte with chocolate or an iced coffee with chocolate. Since most of the drinks are premixed, getting my beverage "skinny" always causes a little bit of confusion when ordering. This confusion led me to discover that a few of the baristas are a bit impatient and rude. It would be better if they were just helpful instead. I mean there are plenty of other coffee shops to work in if that one isn't working out for them. Besides that, I just put on my happy face and pretend they don't bother me till they get the drink I want ready for me because its so good I can deal. Oh and one other thing, there is a $5 minimum for using a credit card, it's easy to spend that much at Puccino's because it is a little more pricey than other places, but come on who does that still??

  • Suzanne B.

Puccino's saved my life. I traveled to Metairie, LA, in spring '06 for business and spent 11 days at and around the Lakeside Mall. When I arrive in any locale one of my first tasks is to locate someplace serving good coffee. For the first three days in Metairie I desperately searched for a good coffee place - hard to find with many businesses still closed after Katrina. Then one of our local informants told us about Puccino's. Hallelujah! Decent, strong, hot americanos with real cream. A local company --- that made it even better. Supporting the return of a local business seemed the very very least we could do. I wasn't thrilled with the pastry selection , though they do serve hot breakfast and also light lunch options. The decor is...eclectic. The coffee is great. If you come to Metairie and need a place for a decent cup of coffee, head for Puccino's.

  • Thuy N.

Hands down, Frozen Puccino all the way. It's espresso blended with yogurt...topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce. Decadent and delicious! Get a small one and it will set you back $4. Yes it has a gazillion calories, but it's so damn tasty!!!!

It may have been an off day, but this place gets on my nerves. The location is great, but its suited for a social visit, so I wouldn't recommend this place for a business visit. Be warned, what follows is a litany of knit picking. The music is too loud and the constant announcing of food orders is a distraction. They can't just say #16, nope that's too simple and logical. Instead, "turkey egg biscuit you're ready" is the choice annoucement. Good luck hearing this outside when the Italian classical music and traffic overpowers anything remotely audible. Also, the counter is overflowing with stuff, so you either have to elbow your way to the register to grab one of the three laminated menus that are available or wait until you're almost there and pray that the person in front of you is kind enough to pass the menu to you - that is if someone isn't using the menu to sign their credit card receipt. The young woman at the register is friendly, but has major trust issues. When asked about my order, she was happy to take the breakfast order, however, only rings up drink orders when the barista confirms/states the order. If I'm ordering food, chances are I am not going to lie about my $3 cup of coffee and pass it off for a $1 cup of coffee. Am I right? On a bright note of personal achievement, I managed yet again to leave the perfectly designed Coffee Mate creamer display in tact. Each flavor is displayed in a circular design so you can read the flavor in a cascading way to select just the flavor you want and I want to mess it up in the worst way, yet I don't. Another point for me! I guess I should discuss the food, as that is probably what you care about, so forgive my delay. My turkey egg biscuit was really good! The biscuit was very buttery, so much so it crumbled rather easily and I appreciated that my egg white only request was honored. I would definitely eat breakfast here again, but not when meeting a client. I love an iced mocha, but not here. They should remove the sign on the door that says barista and replace it with cup filler. I'm no chemist, but I understand viscosity enough to know that you need to stir a mixture of coffee, milk and chocolate syrup or else you're going to be drinking them one at a time. This was disappointing to me. I don't stop in here often and as I re-read this review, I can say this is why.

I have to say this is probably the best location. I've been to the vets and the one in old Metairie but this one has a much better feel than those. I love their frozen pucchino and frappe contempo. Another favorite of mine is the nectar Italian cream soda...yum! I like that they give out the buy one get one free on Tuesday cards and sometimes they will leave little gift certificates on your car when you go to the mall! So cool! There food is good too! I like the shrimp Sriracha wrap! But the last time I ordered it from the old Metairie location, they were out of fries and gave me some disgusting cucumber salad. Very disappointing! But the wrap was good! Some of their drinks are pricey though! But i love the italian like atmosphere and the place is very welcoming!

Great latte. Interesting breakfast menu. Complacent staff. My omelette was almost cold when the guy behind the counter called out for me to come and get it. Visited the spot due to the fact that it was a breakfast meeting and the other party recommended we meet at Puccino's. If I were in that part of metro area again I would stop in for a latte. But would never make a special trip for any part of the menu or experience.

Everyone is raving about the frozen puchino's.... it just tastes like melted coffee ice cream to me. pretty gross stuff. And I can't believe a coffee shop/cafe charges for wifi. How cheap can you be?

Just get the Frozen Puccino and you'll know what I'm talking about!!! Blended espresso with a dollop of vanilla soft serve..all topped with Whipped Cream and cinnamon! Simply amazing..

Coffee drinks are the only items I buy here bc there are way too many great restaurants in this half a mile radius. their customer service is so poor. So so poor! The retirees have claimed this coffee shop as theirs and shamelessly check out anyone that is female and has a pulse. I just hope I rated high on their rating scale.

  • Mallory E.

Pucchino's doesn't offer many options for coffee but it will get you done in a pinch. When I was younger I enjoyed this little ice cream frozen treat (I don't even want to know how many calories were in that thing), but on my most recent trip I got a latte with almond and it was decent. This location has a small parking lot, some delicious looking desserts, and a $5 minimum on credit cards.

Looking for a breakfast cafe so stopped here. Order your food at counter then pick up at window. Very charming decor. Breakfast food was above average taste and fresh. Bloody Mary was great! Frozen coffee drink really delicious. Excellent hot cappuccino too. Would definitely recommend as a solid breakfast choice, reasonably priced.

  • Jonathan S.

I ordered a medium coffee here and had no cash on me. They wouldn't take my debit card because they have a $5 minimum charge. My first time there, so I didn't know. So I left with no coffee. They threw the coffee out, lost a customer, and received a negative Yelp review. All because they don't want to pay their card swipe charge just once for a new customer that didn't realize they had a $5 minimum. That's poor business.

  • Anna M.

This is by far the worst coffee shop I have ever been to. I was charged a $1 for a WiFi password then when I went to look for their WiFi it wasn't up. I tried on two different laptops. Whoever owns this establishment is missing out on college business by charging there customers a $1 for a useless WiFi password. Not to mention how embarrassing it is to ask for a 'hot puccino'. The décor is hideous and the music is loud and bad. This place sucks if you're not over 50 or under 11 years of age.

Came here for the first time to try their famous Frozen Puccino and ohhhh my!! That was delicious. It was a veryyyy enjoyable dessert but I wouldn't get it if I need a boost of caffeine. It says that there is expresso in it but it has more of a coffee milkshake feel for me. It is topped with ice cream and the rest of the drink was extremely smooth. I would compare this to Starbuck's frappuccino but with ice cream and this is 987987987x better! The flavor is just right and the texture is just amazing. They give you a spoon to mix the ice cream in or just to eat it. Overall, this is a great dessert if you like coffee and I'd probably come back here next time I see one!

I've been to Puccino's 3x in 3 days, visiting both of their locations. I can't help it, but i'm addicted to the frozen puccino's. Their regular lattes are also good and I did not have to add any sugar, and the lemon cake I had was large, only $4, and was delicious and not stale. I look forward to trying their breakfast items, and they have pretty awesome working hours. 5am to 12am? I'm in. Clearly Puccino's is a restaurant and not a typical coffee shop like Starbucks or French Press, so I find many of the bad reviews to be unfounded, especially when the major complaints are based on no free wifi and not being able to sit for hours studying at tables without purchasing food, when other patrons are clearly looking for somewhere to sit so that they can eat.

  • Amanda C.

Not much to say except they were the only people open on Thanksgiving morning and that it was probably the best cheap bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit I've ever paid for. It was like $2 or something. The staff is laid back, the place is kitschy, and they even have honor code cup of coffee for $1.

McDonalds food at pretentious prices. The coffee is passable. This place is nothing special

  • Tosha K.

It's okay! I've had a better cappuccino, but the ambiance and character of the coffee shop is really cute. I don't gamble but they do have slot machines in a room in the back and they also offer liquor to place in your coffee beverages or just to take shots

FROZEN PUCCINO IS A MUST! Besides that, it is a good place to study but don't come during the lunch rush.

Their black coffee was not the best I had in NOLA, It was a little watered down for my tastes, but the place has a great location and a lot of business. Service was fast and friendly - which are both pluses in my book!

  • Moira R.

A friend and I dropped in here where we decided that we wanted coffee after roaming around a book store for a while. We ordered the frozen because it was recommended on the review and WOW. It was so good. What is even better was the text message conversation that happened the morning after. K: Do you know what I was thinking about when I woke up this morning? Me: No............... PUCCINO'S? K: Yes! We are addicted. Inside the place is very cute, and I am looking forward to trying to food in the future. What struck me the most is that I almost didn't come because the place was only rated 3 stars. However, I realized it seems to be that people love the frozen, but a handful of people give 1 star reviews because they don't have free WiFi. I wasn't looking for internet so I decided to give the place a try. I don't want to sound like a jerk, but come on. It is obvious that this is a restaurant. I am sure they are discouraging people from studying in there because they need the tables for people who want to come inside and eat. Honestly, if I went for lunch and I couldn't find a place to sit because people were sitting there with a drink typing on their lap top I would be really annoyed. And its not that I don't understand being in school, not having a lot of money, and needing to do work, I'm a graduate student!

I've recently become obsessed with this place since I finally ventured out from just their drink menu. To my surprise I discovered that Puccino's is an excellent breakfast and lunch spot. Breakfast- Mon-Fri they have buy one get one free english muffin with egg, cheddar and ham for $1.99. Thats right, a dollar each! That's like McDonald's prices without having to eat McD's food! Big Win! In addition to that deal they have all the usual breakfast favorites all at great prices. Lunch - Mon - Fri They have "blue plate specials" for $4.99. Monday- red beans Tuesday - white beans Wed- Salsbury steak Thurs - Fried chicken Fri - fried catfish They come with 1 or 2 sides and the portion is generous. Besides that, they have a full menu of paninis, wraps, and salads. Everything has been good and they are fast so I can always count on them to not make me late going back to work. As for coffee, they have a ton of specialty coffee but this one is definitely worth mentioning... skinny frozen wedding cake latte and I swear they are lying because the taste isn't skinny at all! Its small so its good for small groups or take out.

Oh Puccinos...that was horrible. Completely horrible. Chicken Cesar wrap took 15mins to make in an empty cafe, when it was only tiny cubes of precooked chicken and wilted lettuce in a wrap, and the price was higher than stated on the menu. The WORST chicken Cesar wrap I've ever had, and if it weren't for their tasty coffee, I'd give this cafe 1 star. First, I hate grilled wraps. Most wraps have cold ingredients and in my opinion, shouldn't be grilled! It results in horribly wilted lettuce. Second, the wrap was falling apart the moment I picked it up. It was wrapped with broken wrap and was completely soggy on the bottom from the gallon of non creamy dressing they put in it. It was inedible. I threw it away. Do NOT order food from Puccinos. Stick to the coffee.

While the food and drinks are decent at best, the service is incredibly slow. The staff is rude, and I was given a two minute lecture why they would not allow me to use a credit card on a transaction (I had a gift card of $5 and my total was around $9. They don't "allow" transactions below $5 on a credit card). This is not only inconvenient, but complete nonsense. Clearly a money saving tactic, but I believe they'll lose more business with this kind of service. A sandwich to go should not take 20 minutes to make either. And if it does, I expect a little more than a half thrown together mess that arrived as my "chicken salad sandwich." Although I didn't use it, a cafe charging for Wi-Fi seems silly. Get it together, Puccino's.

FAMOUS FROZEN PUCCINO: GET IT. Served with Italian espresso and ice cream, this coffee/dessert is to die for. I crave it all of the time! And for about $4, well worth the price! Iced latte: great flavor, more for those who prefer a semi-sweet/bitter coffee flavor Food: They offer breakfast, brunch and lunch options, along with cakes, wine, and sandwiches! Puccino's (2 locations in NOLA) is a cute dive-y coffee house perfect for studying or reading a newspaper/book. I love it here!

I like this place and all, but I went there during Christmas with a gift card that I had. The gift card was only for $5.00 and the girl wouldn't take it because my order was over 7.00. Do they expect my order to be exactly $5.00 because I don't think that is ever going to happen-ever. She just seemed so confused about what I was trying to do. I still like the coffees, but when I have a gift card, I want to be able to use it without issues. Other than that, I do like their frozen Puccions. The food isn't that good and I don't like that you have to pay for WIfi if you want to hang out for awhile.
