This is such a cute little cafe just outside of Lafayette. I had the shrimp po-boy and our table shared the half sweet potato fries/half regular fries. They were both delicious! The po-boy had toasted bread and it was so good! The food came out super quickly and the waitress was extremely attentive. We were able to get a table right away, but this place does fill up fast, so expect a short wait if you come during lunch. We'll definitely visit again!

Best PoBoy sandwiches ive ever had. This place has a special place in my heart, and there is enough love to go around for everyone! The atmosphere is cozy, the people are welcoming, and most importantly, the food is too fucking good.

Best po boys I have found. The sweet potato fries are not to be missed. After eight months away from Louisiana, this was our first real meal upon our return.

Great comfort food; nice people. Get one of the Poor Boys au jus; I like the Club. You can get those with the jus drizzled on the sandwich and also in a little cup on the side - get both because the jus is really tasty and arrives in the cup steaming hot. Regular fries and sweet potato fries are both delicious. The regular fries are cut into something like a flat wedge - you'll know what I mean when you see them. Servings are huge: I cannot finish a half poor boy and half order of fries, washed down with an Abita Amber. I have been traveling in Lafayette for about 2 months out of the last 5 and been working with a guy who lives in Maurice. He tipped me off and I gave it a try. I have always been greeted and served by a gracious waitress with a beautiful smile that made me feel at home and added that comfort that allows you to relax and really enjoy your food. Worth the short trip down from Lafayette!

A gem in Cajun country! The Villager is small.. and doesn't look like much from the outside. Don't let that stop you. The service was excellent.... surpassed only by the food. Great shrimp po boys...fries and great Philly cheese steak. You won't be disappointed!

Swimps poboy, bebe! Gah, an' awstuhs, too! Talk about good, yeah! Interesting aside--This used to be poor Dr Trahan's office: I came here as a kid and my mom and her sisters did as well when they were children ;^D

Very cozy atmosphere. had a Chicken-fried steak po-boy! The sauce was white gravy.....Awesome!! The fries are diced potatoes deep fried. A whole is more than most can handle. Topped it off with some freshly brewed Community Coffee Tea to complete the dining experience. Just Wonderful!!

I don't waste my time eating any other po boy. I have enjoyed everything I have tried, unfortunately I haven't tried enough on the menu because I can't make myself order something other than my favorites. The best meatball w/ provolone po boy, terrific shrimp and oyster po boys and even outstanding chili dogs. The only negative is that Villager's is a little too far to eat as often as I'd like.

YUM, YUM,and YUM. Ok, price wise, it is a bit pricey but you DO get a huge poboy. I do not have a favorite poboy but my hubby sure does. He always gets the shrimp poboy and they are always nice, big and cooked perfectly. I either order the ranchero, the club supreme, OR the Italian. I LOVE the bread for the poboys, it's always nicely buttered and crispy. If you're on a diet, do not order from here bc it will ruin it but you'll be so happy that it did. I did not care too much for the "beignets" . It was basically the bread of the poboys, cut, deep friend, and covered in powdered sugar. I'll still give them 5 stars though. Make a trip to Maurice for it, it's worth it. WAIT, I do have a complaint. They should open later on Saturdays. Closing at 3 sucks when you're craving them on the weekend.

I love Southern Louisiana's food spots. Was traveling through Maurice about lunch in a pouring rain. Decided to stop and try the Poboy. I wasn't disappointed. Plenty of good tender fried shrimp. Breading was light and tasty. Sauce was good and fries were good too.

I am a diehard Olde Tyme Grocery fan. So just think Olde Tyme po-boy on a beautifully-toasted bun. So the shrimp po-boy was like eating a hot Olde Tyme po-boy. I don't think it could get better!

My wife and I shared the pot roast po boy and a large order of homemade fries. The fries were larger than we could handle between the two of us and so delicious. We added barbecue sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and jalapeños to the po boy and it was as tasty as you could ever expect a po boy to be. Then, we finished it off with beignets - they have a nice crunch on the outside and softness on the inside, might be the best beignets I've had.

Always the best food! Today we had an oyster poboy and a grilled chicken poboy and you can't beat there fries. Coke in a glass bottle and local people. It's always a great visit!

Grew up in Maurice and definitely always a stop on my vacation home. Bread is amazing, fried shrimp cooked perfect and the hand cut fries are a delicious side. I would def make a stop here if you are in the area!
