The atmosphere was a bit run down and did not look fresh, but the food (we had a pizza) was pretty good. Nothing special.

I'm not too thrilled with this place. The first time I ate here was a couple of years ago when I went with my sister and brother-in-law. They got pizza and I got a calzone. My calzone came quite a while after their pizza and when it did it was cold in the middle and not cooked. I had to send it back. By the time it got back to me my sister and brother-in-law were done eating. Fast forward two years. I go for lunch yesterday. They offer several appealing lunch specials. I go for the Italian salad and calzone. The salad was pretty good. It was a pretty hefty size. I opted for ranch dressing rather than the Italian that came with it and if there is a next time I'll ask them to hold the 200 olives. Yuck! Up next is the calzone and guess what? It's cold in the middle! The cheese is not even melted. How many cold calzones does this place serve? I may try Italian Pie again sometime but I won't be going back to this location. The one good thing about the experience was the waitress. Her name I believe was Alyssa and she was really nice.

They close early every night because no body wants the poor service, unsanitary kitchen and over priced food. The poor workers, I can't imagine coming in for a night shift only to be working 3 hours.. This place is on the verge of shut down. It's such a prime location, perhaps a real Italian food place will open in its spot one day.

Yuck. Gross. Yuck. Ordered a calzone and it wasn't cooked through. The pizza was bland. We picked up a simple order and it was awful. I sincerely hope that no Italians are cooking in this kitchen. When you can't make a decent pepperoni pie it's time to throw in the pizza dough.

Don't go by their posted hours. Don't even go by the word of the staff. We called at 9:15 on a Saturday night to make sure they were open, to which the answer was yes. When we called back at 9:28 after perusing the menu and putting together our order, they said they were closed, that the manager said to close early.

Good pizza. I avoid everything else. They deliver but if it is within an hour of closing they won't answer the phone. Have tried to dine in a couple of times and they had closed early with a small note on the door.

I remember Italian Pie fondly from my days living in New Orleans. There was a location close to my house that delivered so we frequently had their food for dinner. I was unaware that a Mandeville location had opened until searching for an open business post Hurricane Isaac. I was without power at home and wanted a regular meal without having to fire up the grill. Italian Pie to the rescue! Because they were one of a handful of open restaurants, they were packed. I had called in my order ahead of time, so it was ready as soon as I walked in. Kudos to the staff for accurately estimating my wait time despite large crowds. I ordered the baked chicken wings and a Greek chicken sandwich. The baked wings were very good. So good in fact that they were better than nearly all of the fried versions I have had. It is hard to believe that the healthier alternative was actually better. The Greek chicken sandwich was good, but not as good as I remembered. I think part of the problem was the heavy crowds, but it seemed that there was too much bread compared to the meats, etc. Had the bread been smaller, the sandwich would have been much better. If you're in Mandeville, and looking for a reasonably priced casual Italian food, I encourage you to give this place a try.

Food was great. The Mediterranean salad was fantastic and a small was the perfect size to split between two people as an appetizer. Their combination pizza was fabulous - really great toppings, good crust.

I went to this place tonight with my family on a whim. I've been to Italian Pies in the past and never found the food to be very good. It was about the same this time but I'm writing about our bad service experience. The waitress was nice enough when taking our orders. The food came out quickly...there were three other tables. By nice enough I mean she really couldn't give a shit. She didn't bring out silverware or napkins for our salad and pizza. We had to wait for the other server to bring them. The restaurant was basically empty. If that was it I wouldn't be writing this review. However, when we got the bill she had added gratuity of 20%. But get this...the grat was hand written. Like their POS can't handle that? I know it's somewhat normal to grat 18% for parties over 6 but 20? That's just insulting. We were going to give her 15 due to the lame service but man. We left feeling taken advantage of and that's pretty rare in a restaurant. I'll never step foot in an Italian Pie again.

I enjoy Italian Pie pizzas for take out. The family decided to go there one night and we were not impressed. While the food was very good, the service was mediocre at best and the kitchen took forever to get the food to our table. It was not a busy night. I was so disappointed, I'm not sure we'll be back-in person or for take out.

Good selection of beer and extensive menu - not just pizza. Ordered a salad which was not the best I've had. . . not fresh and could not finish it. Croutons were stale probably from a box and from last summer. Let's wait and see if the pizza is good. . . . . . Surprisingly the pizza was excellent and the beer was cold. Not a bad place to consume Pizza - just not one of my favorites.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
