Don't let the outside fool ya, there is a pearl of a restaurant hidden inside. From tge outside the old building looks like it's straight out of the set of Fried Green Tomatoes, but at thd end of the movie when everything is deserted and dilapidated! Go on inside, you won't be sorry. This is where the locals eat and its good! The food and staff were both excellent and I had a crazy good Bloody Mary! The service was timed perfectly. Definitely will return next in time in the area.

Such a great find! We loved the old building, the friendly service, and the solid food options. We stuck with the more traditional/homestyle food on the menu--the crab cakes and chicken fried steaks--and were glad we did. We also loved the Ba Ba and couldn't get enough of the Old Fashioned Bread Pudding. A perfect lunch spot if you're in the area visiting plantations.

Don't let the outside fool you--this place is a true gem! It's one of those restaurants you could easily drive right by; but once you stop in, you'll never forget it. I visited twice during my stay in Louisiana and it was excellent both times. The hamburger steak is especially tasty--I still don't know how they manage to crisp it on the sides and still keep it juicy inside. The waitresses are friendly and exude Southern hospitality. But the crown jewel of this goldmine is the bread pudding. It's in a league all its own. Make sure if you're ever driving through Lutcher you give this place a try. Or, go out of your way to make a stop. You'll be craving that bread pudding ever after.

Quite amazing with a wonderful ambiance! The best sausage and chicken gumbo I had tasted, despite being outside of Nawlins. Very polite staff who made for great conversation! Highly recommended!

My Aunt brought me here for dinner. I had a club sandwich and my aunt had shrimp and potatoes. The food was delicious and the service quick. I didn't try any recommended dishes because I didn't read the reviews before we went, but I will definitely be back to try more. Recommend if you want the local experience.

What a find! Got turned on to this incredible place by a friend who knew I had an interest in great food and potential locations for film work. This place sets the bar really high! Love it, and I will return. Great History... In 1894, on a train trip to New Orleans, a young Italian immigrant named Lawrence Nobile, passed through Lutcher, a busy logging town, where virgin cypress lumber was being harvested. He recognized a promising business opportunity to serve the thousands of men who made their homes in camps located deep in the Louisiana cypress forest. Within a year, Nobile's was established as a place where the men could meet, get a cold beer or a good drink, shoot pool, play cards and have a good time. Above the bar were rooms for boarders, salesmen, and professional gamblers. Since the lumber boom days, Nobile's provided other services to the community. A coffee house, barber shop, shoe shine stand, and doctor's office were all located in the building and kept Nobile's favorite meeting place. Nobile's continues its long history of hospitality even today. The beautiful Victorian mahogany bar which greets restaurant customers and the interesting collectables bring back the feeling of those days when the cypress loggers raised their glasses and enjoyed a respite from their labor.

We were staying at Oak Alley Plantation and were looking for some local flavor. If you are in mood for the same, then don't miss the chance to come here! The staff are attentive & friendly and the food is delicious. We got a homemade crab cake (really, very, very good), the gumbo, the fried fish and butter beans and the brownie a la mode. All exactly what you would hope for if you are looking for "home cookin'"! The salads and cocktails weren't quite what I was expecting, but that had more to do with me being a Yankee than what they were serving. So, don't let the humble outside put you off, what's inside is great!

Had the Friday special of shrimp stew, fried fish, and I substituted the potato salad for a sweet potato. The stew was good. The fried fish was mostly fried with a thin strip of actual meat, but the sweet potato was superb. The special also came with bread pudding, which was a little dry and not the best I've had here in Louisiana. The sweet tea was amazing!!

Good food, friendly staff. The place all of the locals go to eat and drink. The building itself makes one think the place has been there for 100 years. The outside and interior certainly give you the impression that it is a throwback to the 1930's , but in a good way. As you walk in, there is an oversized bar along with tables and a few smaller rooms. Covering the walls are all types of photos pictures, paintings and other assorted hangings all of which are for sale. The food is very good. I enjoyed a platter with oysters, crab, fish, shrimp with sweet potato fries, garlic bread along with a salad and garlic toast. Pretty much a sampler of everything. I asked for the fish and shrimp to be grilled. The shrimp was grilled very nicely, but the fish was pan-fried. The food was very good. One of my companions ordered a half pound burger and enjoyed it along with a crab cake. Another had the gumbo with the sweet potato fries. Price-wise, it was a good value. I've eaten at this place before: the food is always delicious. If you are looking for table cloths and a fancy atmosphere, move along. If you want a place where you can grab a bite to eat or drink with friends, stop on in to Nobiles.
