This place is a Lafayette gem! I have been here twice in the last month and it has become my favorite Lafayette restaurant. My favorite waitress is Dorita, her service is impeccable and I'll request her every time I go! Must have recommendations are the crab cakes(best in town) and the Zapps potato chip crusted drum(only in town!)

The atmosphere is fantastic - you simply cannot get classier than this place. The drink selection is also top notch, and the service is excellent. However, the food leaves much to be desired. I've been several times, trying something different each time, and never found anything that had a good taste to it. Worth a shot or two but there are tastier places in Lafayette.

My dinner was delicious. I had the chicken and Mac. Yummmm. I could have eaten the entire bread basket myself, but I loved the ambiance and feel of the restaurant most of all. Service was excellent too.

I really wanted to love Jolie's based on the reviews. A few co-workers decided to change it up a bit, our staple is Blue Dog but we decided to try Jolie's one evening. Have you ever been to a restaurant and at the end felt as if you've been completely ripped off?! Well that's how I felt for two reasons. 1. the food was not good at all and 2. the price was very steep. My co-worker and I got the scallops, they were soggy, bland and I kept tasting grinds which is NOT what you should taste,,, or feel as if you are chewing on little pieces of sand! OMG. I could tell that my co-worker did not enjoy her scallops either. One bad dish of scallops, a glass of water and $35 bucks later i left unsatisfied. The positive is that the waitress was great she was attentive and the restaurant itself is very cute.

Environment: from the outside it looks like a historic house that's been restored. In the inside it's got a classier feel, I feel a collared shirt is a must. When you come in the first thing you'll see is a large spiral staircase winding up. There are beautiful works of art hanging on the wall. The whole vibe I got was classy southern. Service: they sat me down fairly quickly despite it being a pretty busy scene. I was visiting the state for business And wanted to try out the local food/drink and so I asked the staff for her advice. Amanda first greeted me with a smile and was more than happy to give some awesome recommendations. If all of Staff here is as friendly and professional than Joelie has an all star team. Food: as with most places they gave me some bread. Fresh wam bread with some in house made butter mixed with strawberry and sage. The Gunbo came next which was heavily spiced, a bit much for my palette, but that could just be how creole food is. Next up the Zapp's Crawtator Crusted Drum with Crawfish cream sauce which was pretty good. Crawtators are a local made chip which has been crushed and used to bread the fillet. Last was the beignet which is kind of a French doughnut. It has a lot of powdered sugar like someone threw a powdered sugar grenade. It came win a rich chocolate sauce which I would have preferred to a bit thicker. Note: they have happy hour special every day from 5-6:30. 1/2 price on wine, beer, and starters. My only complaint is they say be beside the are the staff dumped used dishes and kept the water and pepper grinders. My suggestion would be to put that to somewhere no visible for the patrons.

Our first night in Lafayette so we took the advice of those on Yelp! We had a free offer on here for a glass of wine! You have 5 min after u unlock it to show your waiter! We started off with the turtle soup and crab cakes! Turtle soup was a little on the spicy side and needed a little more sherry-crab cakes were loaded and crust was crispy! Great sauce to compliment! Our waitress was so sweet and helpful, Even though she was new. We split the Redfish and it was beautiful. Very tasty loaded with shrimp and crabmeat! Tried the Mac and cheese too- great smokey taste but a little dry on top for me! Portions were very large! Very quite and romantic along with the paintings by George Rodrigues Very Classy bar and cozy tables! Forgot the bread! It was awesome very fresh with strawberry butter

The boyfriend and I came here last night, and we were definitely not disappointed! The interior was beautiful just walking inside. We got crab cakes, and I ordered the redfish (stuffed with herbs, wrapped in bacon, covered in mushrooms) with the smoked Gouda mac&cheese. Everything was so amazing, and tasted so fresh. Our waitress was so friendly and provided great service. The manager even made a round to see how we were enjoying our dinner. It's always great to see local businesses supported, and that's what Jolie's is doing by obtaining much of their product locally. This is definitely a place I'd like to return to.

When in Lafayette for the weekend, I went looking for a good place for a date night and decided on Jolie's. As other reviewers have mentioned, this restaurant is the sister restaurant to the Blue Dog Cafe and also has paintings by George Rodrigue in the restaurant. However, these paintings focused on his artwork of Cajun country and families, and not the Blue Dog. Our meal was started with a complimentary amuse bouche from the kitchen-- a small crisp with goat cheese and beet, which was a lovely way to start the meal. For our appetizers we split the bone marrow and crab cakes, with the extra crabmeat as recommended by another Yelper. After tasting the crab cakes, we can see that the extra crabmeat was kind of necessary to counteract the breading in the crab cakes, so that is definitely a good move. The pickled shallots on top of the cakes added a nice tart bite to counteract the rich cakes and spicy horseradish dressing. We also ordered two turtle soups, which I liked, but was disappointed in. Turtle soup is traditionally made using a rich, velvety veal stock, but this stock seemed to be more of a beef stock. It was good, but something was just missing to take it to "great." For our entree, we split the Duck Three Ways and that was definitely the highlight of the meal. The duck fat mashed potatoes were insanely delicious and the use of satsumas brightened the gamey taste of the duck. I would definitely order this again, and probably cut down on appetizers to have this entree all to myself. The service was overall good, but nothing to write home about. I really liked Jolie's and would keep it on the list of possible places to return next time I am in Lafayette. The only thing keeping me from putting this place as my favorite, #1 place to go in Lafayette is that it seems like corners were cut in some areas. The bone marrow, while good, was an extremely small portion for the price tag. Almost half of the bone was empty of marrow, and the add-on of crabmeat on the crab cakes is almost a necessity. But, I would not let that stop me going and trying some of the other items on their menu, nor will it stop me from recommending Jolie's. Give it a try!

Love Jolie's. Very fancy. Very delicious. Great service. The small plates are delicious. The skate was delicious. Brunch is yummy. A little on the pricy side though.

I absolutely LOVE the concept of a farm-to-table restaurant, so Jolie's is perfect for me. I usually rave about whatever is prepared there and tonight is no exception EXCEPT for dessert. The shrimp and grits was spot-on and the crab cakes expertly seasoned. Lemon Curd Cheesecake didn't show up! The crust was not Jolie's usual painstakingly crafted bottom layer. It was more like Keebler delivered. The cheesecake was just that sans the lemon curd. Whipped topping was terrific but I expected tangy lemon flavor and it just fell short. It won't stop me from returning! 'Love the drum and love the duck! (I'll just try the blueberry créme brûlée next time.)

Amazeballs! OMG, everything was like so good. It was literally to die for! I have been to Lafayette several times, and don't know how I missed this place. It's a sister restaurant to Blue Dog, different vibe and a different menu. I prefer Jolie's to Blue Dog. They don't have beers on tap or t-shirts for sale, like Blue Dog. If you are looking for a fun place to eat, Blue Dog may still be the better option. If you want to get away from the tourist, Jolie's is the better option. Our bartender was badass. He was knowledgeable about the menu and eager to talk about beer and wine. Like Blue Dog, Jolie's is decorated with Rodrigue paintings. It's hard to believe these were done by the same artist, completely different style. I get the impression that they let the artwork dictate the whole vibe of both. If you visit Lafayette, you should check out both restaurants. You will have a good time comparing the two.

One of the best lunches I've ever eaten, wish I lived closer I would eat here often!!!! I had the Louie salad and my husband had the oyster trio both were outstanding.

Second time to visit. Was there for lunch this time. Oysters were AMAZING. We are having my son's college graduation dinner there in May. After living in Lafayette for 5 years, this is one of his favorite places to eat. That says a lot because Lafayette has some great food!

This is my second review for Jolie's. We sat at the bar for a Sunday Brunch and it was an awesome experience. The bartender was so friendly, attentive and courteous: it was as if we were the only customers in the restaurant. BTW: This may be the best gumbo and potato salad I have ever tasted!

    (5)
  • Seif E.

Went for happy hour. Really a great deal. Had the bacon wrapped dates. Extremely good. Along with shrimp and grits. Very good. And the oyster trio. Good. Also the tuna which was average in compatision. Also a few glasses of wine and all for under 35 dollars. Next time will try some entrees !

Gumbo was only ok. Potato salad decent. The real deal was the bread with some type of strawberry butter! Amazing!

Beautiful place, with very good food. We came for lunch. Menu has healthy/ less healthy options. . Cocktail list/wine list is great! Seafood stew was exceptional-clean flavors, fresh seafood. I am impressed

Food was fantastic and well portioned, service was excellent as well. Looks to be a fun spot to grab a cocktail, lunch was a little slow but I anticipate it's busy for dinner. Recommend the turtle soup....

  • Laura A.

Wow. Simply amazing. We started off with the pimiento cheese hush puppies and the NOLA style BBQ shrimp. While the hush puppies were very good, the BBQ shrimp was off the chain! Made with Abita amber beer, I can't even explain the sauce, more like a gravy, not like BBQ sauce from Rudy's... It's a brown reduction of sorts, looked like maybe shallot, and the waiter told us it had tarragon, thyme, and Worcestershire sauce in it. The sauce was drinkable, the shrimp tender. My only complaint--please add another slice (or two!) of baguette to sop up that amazing sauce. For our main course we both got the Crab Cake Benedict. Now, honestly we could have split this. A thick biscuit, topped with a yummy crab cake, poached egg, and delectable crawfish cream sauce! Outstanding. We also ordered some sweet cream corn grits and mac & cheese... to die for. (if you are not going to get the grits on the side, sub the biscuit for the grits!) Jolie's is a little pricey, but I don't mind because the ambiance is very nice, the waitstaff very friendly, and damn good food, just super flavorful, the tastes exploded in my mouth. Highly recommended, just a superb experience! I hate going to a place, even if it is cheap, and the food is just meh and I'm disappointed and feel I wasted my time, money, and calories. This was worth EVERY penny! If you are in the Lafayette area, you MUST go to Jolie's.

Food: appealing to eye, tempting to the nose, overcooked to the palate. Decor: more appealing to the eye inside that outside, clean and tidy, semi-romantic in its furnishings. Service: Attentive to a fault, not as knowledgeable about fine dining as expected. Best feature: their daring to take risks by creating new dishes. I think the chef should get involved with competition to hone their skills. They have good ideas, but the execution is not there yet.

This place was great! We stopped in for brunch last weekend and everything we had was wonderful. The chicken & waffles, avocado BLT, gumbo, bacon-wrapped dates, and crabcakes benedict were delicious. Nancy did a great job as our server and the atmosphere was relaxed and very casual for such a nice restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place to any friends who travel to Lafayette.

Loved this place! Free beignets on Saturday and outdoor seating in gorgeous weather were bonuses! Get the avocado BLT with a runny egg- fantastic! Although I wish the bread were toasted longer (ask for this). Fries were crispy an salty and I left happy.

This place is incredible. The food is awesome. The service is even better. You can even bring your dog (obviously you have to sit outside). We were one of two tables outside and usually when this is the case, you get sort of forgotten. This was not at all the case. We were brought ice tea regularly and our food came out hot and timely. We had brought water for our dog, but they brought out a nice bowl with cold water. We opted to skip the app, but had the BBQ shrimp and the seafood stew (copillo - I have not idea how to spell it). The BBQ shrimp were really good, not traditional, but I prefer them without the shell. The seafood soup was awesome. They bring you a side of alioli to add that is fantastic. My only complaint was that they only bring you one slice of toast with your meal. Every time I pass through, I plan to go here.

What A dining experience. The oxtail bone marrow appetizer was delicious. The knock it out of the ballpark entree was the Zapp's crawtator crusted Drum. I have traveled the world for over 25 years as an airline pilot & this has got to be the best food I have ever tasted.

I seriously adore Jolie's Louisiana Bistro. It is so lovely in here! When you enter you'll first notice a beautiful spiral staircase (leading to a private dining room) and a really pretty bar. Once you settle into your seat, you can really take in all the wonderful art that adorns the walls here. It's filled with great pieces from George Rodrigue, who is most famous for his Blue Dog paintings. Most of the paintings here are not of the Blue Dog, however. Here you'll see pieces that are focused on Louisiana Cajun people. They are really great. Our server brought out complimentary bread and butter and took our order. We started with the BBQ shrimp appetizer and it was delicious. The sauce was so delicious, in fact that once the shrimp was devoured we used the rest of our bread from earlier to clean the rest of the plate. Yummy! For my main dish I ordered the shrimp and grits. While pretty good, it wasn't as good as that BBQ shrimp appetizer. I would have gladly just ordered that again for my main dish. Service was great here. Our waiter was a college student and he was very friendly and sweet. My only complaint is that our main dish took a very long time to come out. I'm not sure what was up with that, but it was really too long to wait. Even so, I will definitely be back here and you should try it out, too!

Very nice dining experience. Amuse Bouche was delightful bite of beet and crab salad. The fried green tomato caprese was an interesting interpretation of a classic. I ordered the grilled pork chop and sauteed spinach. The pork chop is a very large portion. But ut was cooked very well. The sauteed spinach was a bit too buttery and overcooked. Overall great service and lovely decor.

Wonderful fine dining experience. Large but homey place with classy, jazzy decorations. Extensive menu, and one of the relatively few spots in Louisiana that offers a separate menu for vegetarian and for gluten-free dining and specifies that they fry using peanut oil. Also has a locavore emphasis. Everything (and I mean everything) our party ordered was delicious. Still thinking about pasta with artichoke cream sauce and mozzarella with spicy dip. Shame I'll probably never be in the area again, or I'd definitely splurge and go back.

Terrible food and the owner's should be ashamed they serve microwaved food. Everything was served cold and then sent back to microwave the food even more. Crab cakes were disgusting and cold. Entrees were also cold and sent back. Wake up and don't waste your money. This location needs Gordan Ramsey to pay a visit.

WINNER! Started with an amuse Bouche of dried fig and jalepeño cream sauce, 8 oz filet and Gouda Mac n cheese are crazy good! Coffee and beignets for dessert. Not on the diet plan, but it was worth an extra 10 laps around the pool! Definitely put this on your must try list!

I ate the filet which was exceptional good. unfortunately I had to send back the first steak as it was ice cold. the service was a bit slow. but the place definitely made up for its character and good food. I would come here again

My wife and I decided to try Jolie's after hearing exceptional reviews from friends, as well as the high marks received here. We decided to take the short drive from Baton Rouge and experience it for ourselves. Overall the experience was exceptional. From the food, to the service and atmosphere, all aspects of our dinner exceeded our expectations. My wife had the duck three ways and I had the zapps crawtator encrusted drum with the duck fat mashed potatoes. Along with the best bowl of turtle soup we have ever eaten, we were very impressed. I highly recommend Jolie's to anyone looking for a fine dining taste of Louisiana.

I was staying down the street at the Hilton and stopped in here to pick up some takeout. I ordered the fried green tomatoes with crabmeat and the lamb burger and fries. Both were very good! The lamb burger really had a good taste to it. BOTTOM LINE: Good food!

This place was amazing! I usually stay in New Orleans but the Ragin' Cajuns are what bring me to this side of town. Nonetheless, I googled best places to eat in Lafayette and this popped up. One of the only farm to table places I've encountered in Louisiana aside from Kpauls. The service at the bar was excellent. Those guys really take pride in their cocktails. All of the recommendations made by the bartender were to my liking. If you're ever in Lafayette and you're a foodie, please stop by! It's menu is unlike any other! Bone marrow with quail egg? Rabbit bites! Seriously the best!

For the prices, the food & drinks were mediocre. I ordered the duck & was very disappointed. The place itself is very nice, but the waitstaff was rather inattentive & the food was lacking.

It's been awhile since I've been to this establishment. Lets say, its still has a nice ambiance and a nice staff. I had tried their tasting menu, we had the following: - Crawfish Popper: This is exactly what it sound like, and delicious too. - New Orleans Style BBQ Gulf Shrimp: this had a Abita beer reduction with grilled peasant bread. I thought this had too much sauce in ratio with bread, making it over salted and soggy. Overall not too pleasing. - Crispy Quail: crispy quail over a bed of baby spinach salad, quail was very delicious and crispy! - Grilled Chaudin Sausage: chaudin sausage with collard greens and apple kimchi. This dish was decent, I thought this dish had no balance because it had way too many salted items, and nothing to mellow the flavors. - Seared Scallop: scallop, corn and crab bisque. This was delicious, probably the best corn and crab bisque I ever had, and that scallop was a "cherry on top" - Short Ribs: 6 hours braised in a brandy cherry demi-glace with a side of shitake & cream cheese risotto. I thought the meat was very delicious and tender, however the risotto was overcooked and not pleasant. - Beignets: beignets with a chocolate coffee sauce. The chocolate coffee sauce was delicious, I couldn't stop eating this. I haven't eaten here in years, and I remembered why. This place is mediocre, and is a distance from where I stay. And there are more "worthy" restaurants in between, however, not the worst in Lafayette, not even close.

Lunch was fantastic. The best crab cakes I have ever had. The Jolie cocktail was incredible. Gumbo was 5 stars. We are only visiting for the weekend and had a 5 star lunch. Would highly recommend.

Not sure how this place got good reviews. The menu was very limited, pricey and portions stingy. The crab cakes were ok but the sauce was nasty. I have had better Caesar salads at Wendy's. They messed up my husband's order, no one ever came by to ask if everything was ok. We were one of a handful of people there so it isn't like they were busy. I have had better food almost everywhere else I have been. The waiter never refilled drinks even though they were obviously empty. I never got a straw for my drink and it was lovely spilling water on my face while I attempted to get the last bits of water from my never refilled cup. The waiter looked and acted stoned. We were 1 of his 2 tables and he wasn't even tasked with bringing orders out. Horrible experience with less than mediocre food. Why would anyone bother to come here??

What good restaurant runs out if scallops on a Saturday night. Prices are high, but quality is good. I was looking forward to the scallops and grits, but after perusing the menu for ten minutes and making my decision, the waiter informed us that they were out of scallops. Not his fault and I will add that the service was impeccable. The cocktails are right at $9, the strawberry vodka "martini" was delicious. We headed to $3.50 beers at Blue Dog and probably just should have eaten there. Next time we won't make that mistake. Food we ordered, the grits were dry and the only flavor was the sweet corn, the salad was standard for a Caesar, nothing outstanding, just okay. My husband ordered the gnocchi with pesto (small plate) and could eat only half.

This is the only farm to table restaurant I'm aware of in Lafayette and I really like this place. The minute you walk into this place its hard not to immediately become infatuated with it. The interior ambiance is much nicer than you would expect from the exterior. Like most restaurants in the Lafayette area the dress code is very casual and the attitude is very friendly. The service, menu, and furnishings could compete with many fine dining restaurants in New Orleans while the prices are a fantastic value. On a recent lunch visit I was greeted with some fresh bread served with a delicious black cherry and sage butter (I started eating the butter like ice cream it was so tasty). I'm a bit disappointed in their hamburger served with a fried egg as when the yolk broke open it made the whole sandwich very slimy along with contributing to the bun crumbling so I think getting the egg yolk cooked all the way through or leaving it off would make for a better experience. The rest of the menu is spectacular and they have a really awesome selection of the bounty of Louisiana. Due to seasonality you might not always be able to get what you're craving but you can always find something delicious here! This is definitely one of the top restaurants in the area and a must visit when in the area!

Great Ambiance. The staff was pleasant, but the Turtle Soup was like a salt lick. The waiter switched it for the Gumbo, which was also salty. When I pointed it out, the waiter did not acknowledge this, nor did I get any apology nor discount on the bill. It was a smaller lunch menu.

  • David Z.

Four of us had Sunday brunch here. The presentations were interesting, the food was above average, and the prices were high. I had Cioppino and a side salad ($26). The flavors were good, the portions decent, but the prices, despite the attractive ambiance, was unnecessary. I have the impression that Lafayette, as the Cajun "capital" of Louisiana, think it's sophisticated, and its rather few well-appointed restaurants are justified in charging impressive prices. Truthfully, we had a better meal that night at Carrabas, and that's just a chain.

I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for, then every once in a while someone becomes the exception to the rule and you start to question if it really is true. Jolies is that exception. Ambience: White tablecloth dining, gorgeous interior. 5 stars! Service: Service was fantastic. Attentive waiter and staff. Easy to talk to, no issues with the service, 5 stars!!! Cocktails: These guys have some great seasonal cocktails. The bloody mary my sister had was pretty good, could use a little less garlic for my personal taste, but good nonetheless. I had a sazerac and another drink that were wonderful. 5 stars!!! Food: This might be easily one of the worst 5 dining experiences I have had in my life. Without exception the most expensive food disaster I have ever had on the planet earth. I am not sure where the disconnect between me and the other reviewers is, but the food here was absolutely one of the most horrid train wrecks I have ever been a part of. Turtle soup: Maybe the best thing that came to the table other than a mussel appetizer my sister ordered that we all ended up taking some of because of how horrible the rest of the meal was. Sad thing was the broth was very rich, over powered the turtle in the soup and was salty. Mussel appetizer: Mussles in cream and garlic. Average at most places, goes straight to the top of the list at Jolies because it is actually edible. Blackened Ahi Tuna: Quite possibly the worst piece of fish that I have ever eaten. My father ordered the same thing and one bit killed his appetite. This is not an exaggeration here people, he took one bite and it was so damn salty that he just didn't eat the rest of it. Mine was as horribly salty as his. Flounder Special: Was supposed to be sautéed, my mother couldn't eat it because it was "swimming in grease". I had a bite, and she was right. Zapps crawtator crusted Drum fish: Sounds good right? Potato chips coating a nice piece of drumfish and served with a cream sauce. Not so fast my friend. Huge chunk of Drumfish, but didn't taste so fresh and the sauce was average at best. Side of Fries with olive oil and parsley. Fries were also swimming in grease. Gouda Mac and cheese is average and the smoked sweet potato puree is edible. Just wouldn't order the entree to get it. I came here for three things that were not on the menu because they ran out: - Roasted bone marrow - Foie Gras - Rabbit bites Supposedly the best things on the menu per reviews. Not sure I will go back to see if they are any good. Stick to the cocktails and DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!! Poor Boys Riverside Grill is BETTER, far less pretentious and probably cheaper if you don't get two bottles of wine like we did.

White linens, nice menu and great ambiance. Went here for a dinner with a client. They were sensitive to her special requests and produced beautiful plates. The eggplant was the best we have ever had. It's a must try!

After being snubbed at the Vermillionville down the street, we decided to get the hell out of Dodge, and found Jolie's Yelp reviews and decided to head here for dinner during the Festival Internationale weekend. Our server was quite delightful, and the food was very much up to par for the price. We look forward to trying other items on the menu as well.

If I had the option of 3.5 stars I would have gone with that. I feel like many menu items are hit or miss. I have been totally blown away by cioppino and completely let down by the Zapps crusted drum. Other items fall on the spectrum. Most of the time their little differentiating twists seem to fit into the "it seemed like a good idea at the time" category, but sometimes they can elevate a dish to greatness (case in point, the strawberry and cane vinaigrette on the duck breast). In time I think they will nail some of the dishes they are attempting and those dishes will be the new classics I come back for again and again. I do feel that this place has grown a lot since it opened and I'm looking forward to continuing to eat my way through their menu. The only other reason I would have liked to deducted 1/2 a star is I have never, ever, been satisfied with the service. Distant, condescending, insipid even borderline rude would all be words I would use to describe the general treatment.

The sister restaurant to Blue Dog Cafe, and I like it just as much. Just a bit more upscale in the ambiance and price, which is fine. The whole restaurant looks amazing. A great bar area and unique art work, as one would expect. On to the important stuff. The food is awesome. For an app, the roasted Oysters are some of the best I have had. They have some small plates like bone marrow, and other Cajun/Creole stuff. Anything pork here is ridiculously good. Can't go wrong with any of the seafood options either. A great little restaurant.

We accidentally stumbled across this place when we were aimlessly wandering around Lafayette (trying to escape the thunderstorm that parked itself over our home in Baton Rouge) and stopped in for some lunch. Oh. Em. Gee. My husband and I split the B.E.L.T. (Bacon, Egg, Lettuce, Tomato) sandwich. This may have been the best sandwich I have ever had in my life. The bread was light and slightly toasty AND didn't murder-shred the roofs of our mouths (big score). The tomato was perfectly ripe and had good texture. It wasn't gooey or grainy or stringy or green... just a solid fresh tasty slice of tomato heaven. The bacon was a nice thick slice and was crisp without being over salty or hard. And the egg... oh the egg... fried to perfection so it held up until we decided it was time to release the creamy yolk over the layers of sandwich goodness. The house cut fries are worth a mention too, perfectly done. Mom and Grandma split a salad, they said it was good, but I was too busy shoveling the BELT into my face to bother to try it. A good note, however, is that they usually order dressing on the side (as most restaurants tend to lay it on heavy), but they were very pleased with the amount of dressing... a very good thing. Portions were great. We were all starving upon arrival, and even with all the sharing, we left with satisfied tummies. We were so geeked out by our lunch that we made reservations for dinner THAT SAME NIGHT. Ya... I know... In our defense: 1) Mom & Gma are from another state, so this was their only day to go 2) I wanted to celebrate my birthday with a really really good steak. I should give you a disclaimer: I am a recovering vegetarian and this b-day steak would be my first steak in some 10 years, so I wanted something that would live up to the nostalgia I had built up in my mind... expectations were at maximum capacity. THAT is how impressed we were with our lunch... So... We showed up for dinner. It was a little busy and food came out slowly, but it was hardly noticeable as we were well taken care of. The Chef sent out some amuse-bouche. The only way I can describe this was a mouthful of wonder. The flavors and textures all blended together so amazingly in that single bite that I just about died. Several minutes later a bread with spreads came out to hold us over as we awaited our appetizer. Not being much of a grain-eater, I didn't allow much stomach real estate to this treat. The bit I did taste, however, was fantastic. By the time the charcuterie board hit the table, we were frothing. The variety of cured meats with beets and sprouts and spreads was incredible. The mustard was SO amazing! Everything tasted so fresh and clean, it was all a joy to eat. I ordered the filet, mid-rare. I sunk my knife into the meat and the smell alone had me giddy. This was the moment of truth. I had an idea in my head what a perfect steak would taste like and now I was either going to be greatly satisfied or sorely disappointed. I. Was. ELATED. The steak was cooked to perfect temp and was tender, juicy, and melted on my tongue. Bonus- it was identical to the mid-rare filet Mom & Gma split... I appreciate consistency. I let Hubby eat the garnish of okra and he LOVED it. I'm sure I would have too... if I didn't absolutely detest the taste of okra. I won't hold my crazy issues against the restaurant, though. I chose the duck fat fingerling potatoes as a side. Holy smokes, kids... these guys took potatoes to a whole new level. I have had duck fat potatoes before, but these... they were creamy and fatty and I am still pumped about them. Mom and Gma opted for the smoked gouda mac & cheese side. This is easily the best mac & cheese I've ever had (the truffle mac & cheese at Disneyland's Club 33 takes a close second). Hubby had the seared duck breast. I have never had duck before, so I don't have much to compare it to. For what it's worth, I did go in for a second (and maybe a third... or fourth) forkful. It had a delicate and beautiful balance of savory smoke flavor and tart sweetness from the strawberry vinaigrette. Had my steak let me down, I totally would have made Hubby switch with me. But it didn't. Win-win! We each ordered a different dessert to maximize tasting efficiency. The cannoli came highly recommended by the server. It was fresh with a crispy buttery shell and thick sweet (but not too sweet) filling. My mouth is hating that is does not have one of these inside of it right now. We also had the creme brulee, it was delish. I don't have much to say as creme brulee tends to be too sweet for my taste. It was pretty sweet, not too eggy, a great dessert nonetheless. Dessert number three was a lemon torte of sorts and it blew my mind. Lemon desserts tend to either be too sweet or too tart and I avoid them at all costs. Not this one. They nailed it. Finally, the chocolate brownie. It was rich and moist and perfect. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up. Planning to visit Lafayette again just for this place!

The atmosphere of the restaurant is great! The food is home cooking, refined. I ordered the Chicken under a brick and the aroma was intoxicating when it was served. The taste did not disappoint. Service was laid back yet attentive. My only cons are the state of the bathroom area. There was no a/c once entering that area so I felt like I was heading to the outhouse. Once in the woman's bathroom there was a huge candle going trying to mask smells. Sorry, a candle cannot mask sewer gasses. The bathroom also did not reflect the restaurant at all. Clean up the outhouse and this place deserves 5!!

Lovely dining room features a creative menu and food expertly prepared. Great selection of local beers (bottle only) including Canebrake and Abbey Ale (favorite). Enjoyed a delicate Redfish wrapped in bacon. Innovative cheese plate included mustard dip, vegetable dip and lemon curd. Delicious flan and bread pudding desserts. Thanks for a fun evening!

This place was once one of my favorite restaurants in Louisiana, but I think it's gone downhill. Went there today with 4 of us. We ordered fried green tomato caprese salad for app and it was very meh.... 3 slices of tomato, oily but all in all fried well, with a SLIVER of mozzarella on each slice and a tiny SPRIG of basil. A little balsamic would have been nice. Presentation was very disappointing. There was a sauce, but not near enough to compliment the dish. We also ordered salads and gumbo. The salads came out, immediately followed by the entrees, and then, after asking, the gumbos. The weird thing is that neither our waitress nor the server seemed to see that there was anything wrong with this!! At one time, we had 2 salads, 3 bowls of gumbo ( they didn't have cups even though one person in our group ordered a cup and one ordered a bowl yet they got the same thing without any warning from the waitress) and 4 entrees all on our small 4 top table. I ended up sending back my gumbo because I just didn't have room for it! Seriously, the waitress and server never apologized or even ACKNOWLEDGE that this wasn't ok! For a $100 tab for lunch with NO drinks other than water, this just isn't acceptable. I would like to acknowledge that it appears this was NOT my waitress' fault. She was very nice and tried to take care of us. This was the MANAGER/TRAINER's fault for not making sure that she knew that this wasn't ok. As for the food, the gumbo was OK, but the roux was slightly burned and bitter. One person liked it, the other 3 thought it was burned. My wife got the ceviche which wasn't really good at all. It was 80% tomato and onion! I love ceviche and this wasn't very good.... The flatbread that came with it HAS to be responsible for some cracked teeth somewhere! I HOPE it was stale because if it was fresh, it was bad! I got the soft shell crab poboy and it was good but not great. No major complaints there. One person's BLT looked like it was good and she really liked it. All in all, this place used to be great but today was a big disappointment.... They used to be so creative with their dishes! I miss the charcuterie which was what drew me in in the first place. I was also concerned about not being able to get in on a Friday lunch, but there was hardly anyone else there.... I guess it's not just me. I wish them the best of luck and hope that they can get back to the standard they used to bear when Chef Manny was running the kitchen!

I have no clue how to review Jolie's after my experience there a few weeks ago. This place is supposed to be the best restaurant in Lafayette... uhh, not. If it's the best place in Laf, it would not have served up two hamburgers that were really kind of crappy. Yeah ok, this is not a burger joint, but they DO have them on their small menu, and they grind the meat in-house, so they should be good. The burger was not cooked to the temperature that I ordered it, the bun was stale, and it was too big for the burger. This was not good. I will give Jolie another try sometime soon --- but this was not a good beginning. /fail.

The rating is realy between a 2 and a 3. The scale description by Yelp shows a 3 as being "A-OK" and in my opinion, on this night, it was not A-OK. Thats unfortunately because I really wanted to like this place. Great outside appeal with outside dining. Inside a little barny because it has an upstairs seating area, and on this evening there was a huge dinner party upstairs and the noise resonated downstairs. Tables were well dressed and the bar looks inviting. The service was prompt and attentive. The bread came out with my cocktail and it was great. Warm and crusty with an appealing spread. But you couldn't spread it because it was solid and cold. Once I managed to get some on to the bread the flavor was very complimentary. I had crab cakes for my appetizer. As described by the menu it is "panko crusted, horseradish remoulade, pickled shallots." Two came in a small casserole bowl. The first two bites were very flavorful especially the horseradish remoulade. The panko was a nice crunchy counterweight to the soft crabmeat filling. It was the third bite a little closer in to the center that stopped me cold. As in cold crabcake. Okay now that I know it's not freshly prepared, is it too much to ask that it be properly microwaved? A real turn off at that point. Lack of attention to details can sidetrack a dish. I called it to the attention of the server and she apologized and took it away. She told me the appetizer would be removed from my bill, and it was. I had ordered the fried flounder filet for my main course, and when I saw the server coming with an oversized plate I got all excited. (Advice to staff--use smaller plates if the filet is smaller than size of a small hand.) I knew I wasn't getting a whole fried flounder, but I was gravely disappointed that the $20 filet was an incredibly small portion. They didn't compensate for square inches with thickness either. The corn meal-like coating on both sides all but smothered the tiny filet. Another disappointment. The filet came with nothing, so on the advice of the server I ordered the mac and cheese, and I have to say this was spectacular. So at least with the bread and the mac/cheese I managed to enjoy the best of what I had ordered. I went to this joint based on the advice and reviews on Yelp. And I really wanted a great experience. My visits to Lafayette don't always result in home run meals, which is surprising. And maybe it was a bad night in the kitchen, or maybe I ordered the wrong selections, but my food was far from awesome, as some have described their food. It's all about details. That's what separates great dining from mediocre. I wish Jolie well.

Another gem to behold in the heart of Louisiana! Jolie's is pretty much the total package for me. The food is famously farm to table, the staff is friendly and knows the menu and how to pair a meal, and your dining experience is unique and intimate. Hats off to Jolie's!

Blue Dog Cafe was our intended destination but did not serve lunch in Saturday. By accident we stumbled on Jolie's which is like a sister to BD. Artist Rodriguez owns both. Wonderful on all levels. 4 of us had lunch and all were happy.

Met here for a business dinner recently. The restaurant itself is nicely put together inside, good atmosphere and ambiance. Don't let the looks of the sign or building dissuade you. I had driven by this place several times on previous trips and never gave it a second thought, based on curb appeal (or lack thereof). The service was impeccable. Wait staff dressed to the nines and very attentive. The crab cakes were delicious, and were even topped off with lump crab (a ton of it too). Come to think of it, what doesn't come with lump crab on top of it in Louisiana? The bread with 3 spreads was just OK. The bread was awesome, the spreads......not so much. Lucky for Jolie's I am basing this review on the restaurant, the service, the appetizers, and the presentation. I am not basing it off of my entree. I chose poorly and went with the New York Strip. My companion went with the filet which looked awesome. My steak was tough and chewy, but I guess I should have expected that with ordering a Strip. Live and learn. Finished the meal off with a B&B. If you've never had one, they are awesome and the perfect digestif. Most fine restaurants with a bar will serve them. Try one, you wont regret it. I will definitely give Jolie's another shot on my next trip to Lafayette. I'll just steer clear of the New York Strip.

For a place with 4.5 stars I was a little let down. Maybe because I need more experience with Cajun cooking. Came here for brunch with 2 friends and the interior was so pretty. Very homey and fancy! There is no dresscode but we all agreed there should be one for a place as nice as this. But for brunch, it was too pricey for me. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. 6 big shrimp in a broth that I did not expect. It was a little strong in taste so I couldn't finish the broth but everything else on that plate was pretty great but not sure if I'd order it again. Warm biscuits as appetizers were charming, none of that stale breadrolls nonsense. Although I asked for a little side of jam...and I got charged with a whopping $4 of their specialty two jam dainty pack which I didn't even finish. So beware of that! The seafood eggs are a winner from what I've heard. Will get that on my next visit if I go here again.

The food was good, but salty. Had fried green tomatoes or their version of it. It was excellent. They also served like a spinach, cheese, tortilla pinwheel as a sample, that was good. I had the turtle soup, it started off great but then turned salty. They are expensive, but you get get what you pay for. They have a happy hour where the appetizers are half off, which helps if on a budget. The wait staff is very professional and treat you like royalty.

I had the best cocktail ever here but the food did not live up to the bar. It was a little too expensive and just not up to the price point. I would go to sit at the bar for an amazing cocktail but would not do dinner again.

This place never fails to impress me. Jolie's works with local vendors to provide its diners fresh Louisiana meat & produce. Presentation & attention to the quality of their dishes is evident. Service is timely & friendly. Combine reasonable prices with all of that & what you've got is a superb dining experience. It's hard to really leave a review of a particular menu item here, since the menu changes each season; however, I can say that I've thoroughly enjoyed their Grilled Watermelon Salad, Deviled Crab Croissant, Sweet Potato & Andouille Hash Cake, & Brunch in general (but go there knowing that everything-including the Mimosas-is a la carte). Be it brunch, lunch or dinner, you would be doing yourself a disservice by skipping the Crab Cakes. In my opinion, they are second in Lafayette only to Bonefish Grill in this department. And I am happy to report that, no matter when you go, Jolie's carries San Pellegrino water (served with a lime, as it should be), which goes perfectly with just about every meal! Again, I have never once been disappointed with my choice to eat at Jolie's. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone with a discerning palate.

This place has to be by far the best stop in Lafayette. I had three gentlemen with me and we had been working hard all week and really wanted a treat. This is an upscale restaurant and the food and service is representative of that. They have a decent beer and wine selection and I enjoyed everything that was served. If you are within a 30 minute radius of this place, it is worth the drive.

A tad over priced for lunch but good food overall. The restaurant is dimly lit as if the original intent was dinner only. I started with crab cakes that were more bread than crab in my opinion. I was not impressed. The server was kind enough to take them back. While the Louie salad with fried eggplant was quite tasty, it was a bit heavy on the dressing. Having passed on the crab cakes I decided to treat myself to the Incredibly Delicious Pound Cake! Yep dessert was the best part of the meal!!

Semi-formal dining. Good for business lunch or taking a SO out for a date. The food we tried was DELICIOUS with the exception of the fried catfish which was very bland. Everything else was far above par though. If you live in Lafayette or are just visiting you owe it to try this place.

I didn't actually have the opportunity to dine here. I showed up for lunch yesterday with that intention, but was met at the door by the owner who explained that they experienced a power outage early that morning so they wouldn't be able to be able to seat customers for lunch, he apologized and handed me a gift certificate to come back another time. In my opinion, that's shows nothing but class....next time I'm in the area I'll give them a try. I'm a fan so far.....

We'd planned on being in Lafayette -- a city renowned for its food -- for lunch, and researched a ton of places to eat. Jolie's, with its fascinatingly diverse menu and tradition of locally sourced ingredients, sounded great to us, and it did not disappoint one bit. The service was beyond reproach; the space itself is lovely and comfortable; and the food is simply tremendous. The fried catfish was so light and crisp that it was hard to believe it was fried; the corn grits were sweet and well-formed, making me rethink the whole idea of grits; an appetizer of lightly fried pimiento cheese salvaged the rep of an increasingly degrade southern favorite. Everything was first-rate, proving that America's smaller cities can produce the kind of wonderful cuisine associated with its big metropolises if they've got the determination and talent. (I also had a French 75 cocktail that's the best I've had anywhere.) Jolie's gave us one of the finest meals we have had in years. Be sure to stop by if you're ever in the area and see if you don't have the same experience.

The era of YouTube and running the risk of being videotaped was the only thing that prevented me from turning up the tomato soup vessel and licking it clean - the BEST tomato soup I've ever had! What is in that stuff?!?!? The accompanying grilled cheese was boring, but, in all fairness, anything would have been. Crab cakes were remarkable, as were the house cut fries. Service was outstanding for our table of 3 and the ambience is terrific. Definitely recommend!

Cute place. There were 8 of us and all tried different things. The drum was crisp and very good. The fish stew as also good. Gumbo had a great flavor, but very little shrimp or anything else in it. I don't understand the fuss about the mac and cheese, we thought the cheese was way too smokey. The oysters were very disappointing. Had the combo and the Rockefeller were good, but the other two were way too spicy. The ones with boudin even looked awful.

One of the most sinfully delicious meals I have experienced in a long time. The Seafood eggs(shrimp & crab, taso gravy, eggs, biscuit) was perfect in every way. Roasted bone marrow with a quail egg was next and it was also perfect. Great staff and service.

Pig's Head Dinner - Like no other! Recently, I was lucky enough to attend a pig's head dinner by Jolie's and their executive chef, Manny Augello. All five courses were prepared from the head of a locally raised pig and paired with wines by Jolie's General Manager, Chelsea. This experience was like no other that I have had the honor to take part in; this may very well be the only tasting menu in the country focusing only on pig's head. First course - Head cheese, Toasted grits, Poached Egg This is a forgotten New Orleans breakfast. In fact, it reminded me a lot of my grandfather, who ate head cheese on toast for breakfast on many occasions when I was growing up. The richness of the head cheese went very well with the grits, and using the yolk to bind it all together worked perfectly. My favorite bite was one with egg white, head cheese and grits. A wonderful way to start! Second Course - Fried pig ear, mixed local greens, Charred onion vinaigrette I must start by saying that I am not a salad eater by any means, I never touch the stuff. However, this was the best mix of greens that I have had anywhere. All grown locally and paired with intent, these aren't your supermarket bagged greens. They were tossed in an amazing onion vinaigrette, and topped with slivers of fried pig's ear, which is basically skin. Think of the best bacon salad you have ever had, and you are in the ballpark of the flavor here. Third Course - Pickled tongue, Fried pistolet, Salsa verde, Pickled shitake mushrooms I know most people would be turned off by tongue but this pickled tongue was fork tender, and had amazing flavor. It sat on a fired pistolet, which unlike most fried breads, was not greasy at all. The salsa verde was a great companion for the pork, and the mushrooms on the side (which are grown in Breaux Bridge by my senior year teacher) were a great side for this also. Fourth Course - Porchetta of pork cheek, almond garlic puree, fuyu persimmons The porchetta was rolled around garlic, rosemary, and thyme, three of my favorite flavors with pork. It was fatty, which was cut by the persimmons, and very flavorful. Fifth Course - Ribollita with leeks and celery, Peasant bread, Gruyere cheese, Sunny side up local egg This was my favorite course; the soup was made from the leftover stock from the head cheese making process, with celery and leeks added. In the center of the soup was two pieces of peasant bread with melted gruyere cheese between them, and a sunny side up egg on top. The soup was a perfect essence of pork, and I am always a sucker for leeks. As the bread soaked up the soup, it became almost like pork flavored grilled cheese sandwich. All in all, this was a great meal that I would recommend to everyone to try. Chef Manny is now offering pork head dinners on a regular basis, just call one week in advance to book one. As most of the ingredients are local and seasonal, the menu may vary, but I am sure it will be amazing! If you want to see some photos of the dishes check out these other two reviews (my phone takes horrible pictures) shooteatrepeat.com/post/… musingsofheather.wordpre…

My GOD, this place was good! We had a wonderful server named Donovan and he definitely steered us in the right direction with some recommendations. We took his advice and had the bbq shrimp appetizer. It was just delicious with a huge punch of flavor. Warning: Must like garlic! I ordered the duck. Now, if you are squeamish about meat that is rare, you might want to skip this one. If that stuff doesn't bother you, you will be rewarded with a wonderful treat. I've never had duck that good before, but it was a switch to eat it so rare. Hubby had the scallops with foie gras. OMG! Yum, but again, the scallops were cooked like meat, seared on the outside, almost room temp in the middle. They were excellent. For dessert, a cheesecake that was different from your average cheesecake. It was light and fluffy and delicious. Homemade by a chef and better than your mom's. We walked out, completely stuffed, uttering the words, "That was a great meal."

Now I'll be the first one to say that there is a certain style of art that shouldn't come home from your vacation with you, but I was shocked to love both the Blue Dogs and Jolies. My only regret was that we came for dinner and missed a couple of interesting lunch items (Crawfish hand pie, anyone?). I had theCollard Greens and while properly prepared, turned out to just be not my thing, instead, I recommend the side greens with pecans that my friend had. Crab cakes were excellent and very fresh. Six hour braised short ribs were incredible, as was the Cioppino (fish stew). I would say $40 a person without drinks is probably about right.

Stopped here for Easter brunch while driving back from New Orleans. We were so impressed with the food. Vegetarian friendly, absolutely delicious dishes. Pretty reflective of Lafayette's culinary scene. Very original dishes combining unique flavor combinations. They change up their menu pretty often - I'd suggest trying anything new they're offering, I've never been disappointed. Cocktails are incredible - try them all ;) The atmosphere is really beautiful, and it's pretty special to see so many of George Rodrigue's paintings on display. Very cool restaurant!

We were driving around in search for a restaurant that accepted dogs. We passed by Jolie's and noticed there was outdoor seating upfront. Quickly checked it on Yelp and it had one positive rating. Yes, that was good enough for me. We asked the hostess if it was okay to sit outside with our dogs and she said it was fine (yay, 4 stars for being dog-friendly establishment). We were there for Sunday brunch. The food was fantastic (alas, 5 stars total). A bit overpriced in my opinion but it is a fine cuisine establishment (i.e. there were tablecloths on the outside tables, even during brunch). Eggs Sardou: very flavorful, well done dish Pain Perdu: perfectly grilled, praline sauce was just the right amount and the sausage topping added saltiness and spiciness to the dish and made it oh so heavenly Orange juice: not freshly squeezed, a bit disappointed in that a fine establishment like this did not have fresh squeezed juices. I never ventured inside beyond the hostess area so I can't really comment on the interior. The service, in my opinion, was a bit slow although I can't tell if it's because we were sitting outside or it's to capture a true fine dining experience or it's just slow period. Either way, I'm not going to deduct stars for it because our main concern was to find a restaurant that accepted our dogs and we found it at Jolie's!

Sent by our hotel manager for a "top notch" lafayette restaurant. On. Tuesday night, no reser, no proble. Artwork of Rodriguez (blue dog) was stunning. Very pleasant upscale atmosphere, attentive wait staff,, although our server got several things wrong, he happily correct them. Oyster appetizer was delicious, we split it. I ordered something off menu and it was easily served.

I will start with the bad, since there was little of it; bad: Appetizers were all fair at best. Our party shared 4 or 5 different ones. (edit: on subsequent visits, the appetizers still tend to the 'meh' side) the good: the service was very good. very friendly. the decor is nice. the great: The Cioppino Stew was wonderful. On my first few bites, I was not so sure- I mixed in some of the side rue and it just kept getting better. GREAT! The deserts were also great. Creme Brulee and cobbler were very good. I will be back!

I eat here every time I pass through Lafayette which is been about five times in the last year. I truly enjoyed the restaurant in the atmosphere but last night's dinner was a little different than in the past. The mushrooms on the appetizer were somewhat rubbery although the oysters were terrific.

This little gem is probably the best restaurants in Lafayette, ahead of Ruth's Chris in diversity, the overpriced, hit or miss Village Cafe and Couchon. This Louisiana native who's lived all over, with 10+ years in the Bay Area, loves the locally sourced approach. They list their farmers and sources on the back of the menu. Their gumbo and potato salad side is the best I've had (not including Dad's). They edge out Cafe Des Amis' gumbo only because I've had to return mine a couple of times at the Breaux Bridge venue cause it was served lukewarm. A suggestion: change the outside signage. This venue was once the original Ruth Chris location, but before that, a strip club. The picture of the girl (Jolie) is too casual for the elegant, fabulous meal you will experience. I think it detracts from drive by, drop in traffic.

We were in the Lafayette-Breaux Bridge area this past week. After reading luke warm reviews on some other established restaurants around Breaux Bridge, we decided to give this place a shot. The waitress was attentive and helpful but had no grasp of what's on the menu. We started off with the fried green tomatoes, which were fresh and hot but over breaded. The tasso tartar sauce that accompanied the tomatoes was tasteless. My girlfriend said the Cioppino Stew was average with only the fish tasting fresh or distinct from the other seafood. I had the pan fried soft shell crab. It was like eating a regular blue crab. I was unable to bite through the shell. The sauce the SHELL, sorry I mean crab, was served with was lifeless. The soft shells at NOLA Jazz fest are much better and they're fifteen dollars less. The place was empty when we went, so there is really no excuse for not executing the dishes. In short, this bistro is faking it.

The best restaurant in Lafayette. Period. The atmosphere is great, the service is helpful, and every dish was amazing. I would definitely recommend the roasted roulade of chicken or the crusted tilapia. Honestly, at jolies, you can't go wrong.

Good Service and good food. I found the menu to be somewhat limited. Prices are high for what you get. Nice place to take a date for for special occasions. One disappointing event in that we found plastic wrap in one of our menu items. For the price one would expect better.

Great food and great deserts and friendly service in an atmosphere that is laid back and not rushed or crowded.

Excellent place. I just got back from dinner at the bar at Jolie. At the bar, I found I was sitting next to the owner who is a totally cool guy. He has tried to create a classy restaurant that is not pretentious and he nailed it. Fancy bar. Good wine list. Great food. White tablecloths. And I felt comfortable walking in wearing jeans. What a winner. Me and Suanne ate a bunch of appetizers at the bar: Excellent oysters Rockefeller, a nice pork rilletes (what is wrong with pig and pig fat? Nothing), crispy quail salad (spectacular) and a wonderful duck crepe, and a nice amuse bouche. A couple glasses of nice Spanish wine and a beer and we went home happy. A Disney picture was filming here in Lafayette the last couple months and apparently a lot of the staff including John Malkovich adopted Jolie as their hang out many nights after filming. I totally get why Los Angeleno/film folks would come here again and again. Great food, comfortable place, great metropolitan vibe, relaxing. Plus...once the bar found out that we were Californians visiting Lafayette, everyone started chipping in with suggestions of what we should do in our week here. Seriously, there were 8 people counting patrons and staff giving us suggestions, the bartender was scribe. So fun, so useful, so endearing. Loved it! A couple other features: --Nice, large selection of Scotch whiskeys --Good choice in bourbons --Nice wine list --Happy hour deals on appetizers; if I commuted down Pinhook, I'd pull off that crowded road and wait out the traffic with a glass of wine and a tasty treat!

On my first trip to Lafayette, I went to Jolie's with a couple of girlfriends. The atmosphere was fun but upscale, and the service was on point. My dish was fantastic and I love their whole farm-to-table philosophy. Everyone at the table loved their meals. All in all one of the best dining experiences I've had in recent memory.

seeing as yelp's definition of a 3 is "A-OK," I rate this a 2. It just wasn't ok. Grilled Watermelon: served cold, creating an awkward pairing of the grill marks and the fruit. grilled fruit is better warm. Charcuterie: it was supposedly duck sausage, but there was definitely something else in there. Flatbread: meh. nothing spectacular. Fried green tomatoes: decent enough, but not amazing Service was ok, atmosphere was nonexistent.

Love the food and service. Wonderful options and nice trade off for Blue Dog. Lafayette sure has some great local restauants.

My family and I went to Jolie's to celebrate my Mom's birthday. It has a New Orleans feel to it. Warm and inviting and I like the Rodrigue paintings in this place more than the Blue Dog. APPS: We had the Oyster's Three for appetizers and they were big and delicious. I'm not a fan of oysters Rockefeller so I didn't like those. But, the Oysters Jolie were fantastic. My Mom and my daughter also had the Caesar salad which comes with this good bread. My mom loved this Caesar. The rest of us had the soup of the day which was Tomato and basil soup...Beautifully executed. Entree's: Red Fish Amandine:WOW! Pan Seared Mahi: Very good( not as good as the Red Fish) Pork Wellington: Very good Steak Diane: Very good Seared Ahi: Very good Tournedos Financiere: UNBELIEVABLE! Best dish by far. My daughter had the kids steak and fries. The fries are Waffle style. Have the chocolate beneigts they are to die for. Service was knowledgeable and patient. Kelly answered our MANY questions about the menu. And made suggestions. I'm not sure why this place was so empty. Great atmosphere and GREAT FOOD.

We went to Jolie's for our 7 year wedding anniversary. It was a surprise for my hubby. Everything was perfect. We were wished a Happy Anniversary by the hostess, the waiter and the manager. The setting was romantic and laid back. The oysters were sooooo good, the rest of our meal was excellent. We were given our desert complimentary for our anniversary. Overall a great experience. We will be back soon.

Great food and a very classy atmosphere. The server was knowledgeable with wine selection and food recommendations. I had the Mushroom Toast to start, which was great. For my main I had the Scallops, which were cooked perfectly, in a tasty bisque. The sweet potato hash was excellent as well. For dessert I had the bread pudding, which had an amazing taste. My biggest complaint, which is a minor one, was the butter was a bit solid, it should have been a bit warmer and creamier, but it did have cherries and dates in it and was great on the ciabatta bread. Definitely will return next time my travels bring me through Lafayette.

My husband and I recently celebrated my birthday at Jolie's. Their six course tasting dinner was nothing short of incredible. Excellent service, upscale (yet relaxed) setting, and delectable food! Truly some of the best cuisine we've had in 4 continents of dining experiences!

I couldn't believe how each course had some odd tasting element. The smell alone of the charcuterie plate was awful fr a seafood pate item. I was so dissatisfied w this food. The pork chop was bad and really all 5 of us said the bite of the pork shank was the best part of the meal. One person was happy w the order of that shank. Great: grits, special strawberry martini cocktail, bread, plantation butter and beignets.

We were in town because our Alma mater was playing UL - Lafayette. After a long drive we were tired and hungry. Our hotel handed us a map of the surrounding restaurants and we recognized that Jolie's wasn't too far from the campus and we had a couple hours to spare. A nice sit-down restaurant where we could sit, relax, eat, and have some drinks sounded like a good place to start our night. The staff was friendly. They had quite the beer and wine list. My boyfriend indulged on a few of their import beers and I passed up the wine for a nice coffee cocktail to enjoy with my dessert (but let's not get ahead of ourselves). We split the crabcakes as an appetizer and they were fantastic! We both ordered the tuna steaks. We ordered them too well done, but that was our mistake - the chefs cooked them to order. The rub was amazing, the garlic butter on top perfectly suited the tuna, and it had just enough cayenne pepper to get the flavor but not enough to overwhelm the dish. We substituted the seasonal vegetables for the corn grits which I would do every time! Soon, our main entree was finished and it was time for dessert! We split the chocolate beignets and they were to die for. As we were waiting for our dessert to arrive, the manager swung by as he noticed our college shirts. He teasingly asked if we wanted our victory shots now or after the game. We chit chatted for a bit about our college days and football and he left us to enjoy the rest of our meal. He returned later with the house special in-hand, a strawberry-infused vodka served with champagne, on-the-house. He wished us good luck. Being from out of town, he must know that he won't get us back in the short-term, but the hospitality he showed to us reflected well not only on his restaurant but also on his city. We know that if we return, we will most definitely pay his restaurant a visit. In the meanwhile, we hope that others will go and enjoy his menu and restaurant!

We have been coming to Lafayette for the last four years as my daughter goes to school at ULL. Every time we're here we try a new "Southern" restaurant. At Jolies I think we've found what I was looking for. A genuine Cajun restaurant with great food and ambiance. All seven of us loved the food quality and portion sizes. Priced reasonably, including the wine list. One meal was late to the table but it was cooked to perfection. the decor is unique and staff friendly. We'll be back!

wow, this was definately our most memorable meal of our honeymoon! I would come here again in a second. Totally farm to table, they had a list on the back of who and where all the items came from. Really impressive. We had cocktails to start, my husband had a hot toddy and I had the Feufollet ( apple brandy, elderflower, cinnamon, local honey, burnt absinthe). Those will set you back about $11, typical cocktail prices. We also had to try the fried rabbit livers, so strange were were actually GREAT, you could taste the liver but they were delicately fried and had a honey glaze to them. We also had mushroom toast which was like a neopolitan of warm mushrooms, bread and mozerella between a chili jam, soooo good! We switched to wine (me) and local beers (him). For our main course I had scallops in corn bisque which I wish I could eat as I am speaking right now. Perfectly cooked and the bisque could have been a dish all on it own, it was that good. Husband had the pork belly, which I could barely try because he ate it so fast. The only possible thing I could say about this restaurant is that they fried/cooked almost everything (it seemed) in peanut oil, which my husband is allergic too. It seems as though they did this in most of the restaurants in LA, so we had to be careful in general, but our waitress didn't really seem to (understand? believe?) the importance of the allergy so it made us a little nervous at first. we were more than fine though and any reservations we had about our waitress are over because after the meal, we asked our lovely server to call us a cab. We were told it would take over an hour to get to us (mardis gras weekend) and so we had no choice but to wait. we were ok with that, but the staff was even better, they sent over free drinks! finally, after an hour and a half of waiting, our waitress, Dorita, told us she would take us home! she "couldn't bear to see us waiting like that". It was the coolest thing I've ever seen a waitress do and on top a fantastic meal... oh man, memories of a lifetime. Needless to say we tipped her very well, and you should too if you have her at Jolies.

This is one of the best restaurants in Lafayette. Here, Rodrigue has captured the cuisine of a New Orleans bistro and successfully adapted it to a South-central Louisiana palette. Local farmers' produce and products are featured throughout the menu, which itself strikes the right balance between "different" dishes and more pedestrian ones.

I was so excited to go out to this restaurant as I saw all the reviews. But, it is so overpriced for what you get, its just not worth it! I ordered a $28.00 plate of scallops. It came with 3 scallops and a small bowl of mac and cheese for 28.00!!! The scallops were raw so I sent them back. The cook probably microwaved them as they came back exactly the same (even with the bite out of it). Now they were done but chewy. Gave them to my husband and ate my mac and cheese. My sons steak was raw, my daughter bought the pork chops which were just "ok"...need I say more. You expect so much more when you are paying these prices. The only good thing was the wait staff, who were friendly and professional. I would never go again nor would I recommend this restaurant to anyone. Huge disappointment! Our bill was over 150.00 and I was just mad that I had spent that..should have gone to Applebees and got better food and better prices! Sorry!
