I was impressed that they let us get a pizza...half trex and the other half chicken fresco...and both was really good and the crust was crispy. The floor was dingy and dirty and one of the waitress stayed at the table next to us and talked the entire time.... our waitress Andrea, was very kind and did a good job!! Not to impressed with the fried oreos.

This is certainly an ok place to have pizza and their crust is really good but I was disappointed in what seemed like pre purchased fried ravioli. All in all I wouldn't discourage you from going here , but in my opinion there are better pizzas in Laffayette. On a side note this is one of my brothers favorite spots and he's a good judge of food in my opinion.

Meh... Its "ok" In fairness this review is specific: Take out cheese and pepperoni pizza: I ordered cheese pizza for my kids and a basic pepperoni for us adults, nothing crazy. Called it in, got it Take out, etc.. These basic pies were about as good as like Domino's and cost a lot more.. Also made me wait like an hour so that was kind of lame.. A lot of reviews seem to be high for people who ate inside and got some of the specialty pizzas or something.. So to be fair, just wouldn't recommend calling in a basic pizza to go, maybe dine in and take advantage of the other perks.

I've lived in NYC and have tried the 3 rays plus a bunch more. I have traveled everywhere including Italy. The Marie lebeau is the best pizza in the WORLD for a ny thin style pizza. For some reason the Deanos south location is not as good. Eat at the original one.

Came here on recommendation of friend who GRADUATED FROM UL-Lafayette. Ordered the "Tee Rex" was not disappointed! LOADED with meat & the crust was good & crunchy. Cajun Executioner was highly recommended but not feeling that spicy today we decided to skip it Our server Lauren was attentive & helpful. It is located across from the CajunDome so it's a popular spot when anythinhs happening there. Overall it was a great experience & if I find myself coming through here again I will stop by.

Pretty good lasagna, good meatball subs, and they'll get you in and out fast if you tell them you're in a hurry. Prices are reasonable and the servers are mostly students eager to please...those are the pluses. Unfortunately, because it's a good place to bring little ones, it can be noisy and the floor is often littered with food that has been dropped and ignored. If you eat "pieces" of pizza you might like it...if you eat "slices", try something else.

I know a lot of people rave about this place, but after a few visits to both locations I felt compelled to give my opinion. The service has always been pretty good, but the food is either "meh" or just plain awful. My friends and I always get two pizzas, half and half on both, and one guy in the group will sometimes get a half and half for himself (he likes to take home leftovers, lol) So, in total we have between 4 and 6 different kinds of pizza that we all try. I've never liked a single one. To me a successful pizza has a really good crust and a good sauce and cheese base. While I like the crispy texture of their crusts, they are all bland as hell. It's just not the buttery, flakey, crispy crust that I expect a good pizza to have. I've also noticed that their pizzas are never served hot, always lukewarm. About the base...they are not all about that base (pun intended). I feel like they put a couple of teaspoons of sauce and spread it as thinly as possible and then put a light sprinkling of cheese. Then there's the toppings. I feel like the only reason this place is popular is because of all the crazy topping combinations and names given to the pizzas. However, they do not do a good job at pairing the toppings together. They just throw whatever the f*** onto the pizza. You come out with some really weird tasting pizza. Now that I think about it, the only successful location is the original one on Bertrand. I think almost all of its repeat customers live in that immediate area. The location on the south side on Kaliste Saloom is pretty dead. I think on the south side of town you have a greater percentage of people from outside Acadiana and they are clearly not having it...Deano's pizza that is. Deano's is exactly like Alesi's, Judice Inn, and Don's dowtown...all are really old joints and all have pretty terrible food. Lafayette is full of restaurants and full of flavor, but apparently we're more about keeping traditions alive. If you are looking for really good pizza that is not from your typical Pizza Hut, Domino's, etc. I would suggest trying Rotolo's. I also love JJ's in Broussard.

I don't even know how anyone could find anything bad to say about this place. Aside from the loud brats that people bring with them... It's different. Unlike traditional pizza. But still probably in my top 5 of all time. And their spinach and artichoke dip with fried eggplant to divine!! Um, and they have ICEES. Who doesn't like ICEES?!

A local favorite featuring pizzas, muffalettas, po-boys and other pub style foods. While I can't say it's awful, I think Deano's gets a lot of credit simply because they're the only long-time specialty pizza spot in Lafayette. As one reviewer noted, if you want everything but the kitchen sink on your pizza, then you're in luck. However, while it may be tasty, or hit-or-miss, throwing a bunch of shrimp and crab meat on a pizza when you haven't developed a method of actually marrying the tastes together is hardly "gourmet" pizza, and it's struggling to say it's even sometimes good. Service is generally friendly and quick and features local pretty girls from the near-by college.. Apparently the male employees are kept in the back because, well, this is South Louisiana. Good for a group of friends or a tasty lunch but in the end, it really is just another pub serving pub food with a pizza slant.

Deano's is a Lafayette staple! This isn't your typical pizza...it has a Cajun twist! I've gone to Deano's since I was a child, and it never disappoints. We love their support of UL and the friendly service it always provides. Hands down, the best pizza is the Cajun Canaille. Thinly sliced smoked sausage piled high with shrimp and jalapeños to top it off. It's perfect. If you'd like to add onions, bell peppers, and more jalapeños, get the Cajun Executioner...same thing with added ingredients. We usually get a large sampler pizza with up to 4 or so different kinds. For crab lovers, the Marie LeVeaux is worth a try and was my previous favorite before I discovered the Canaille. And now, the ranch dressing...oh, the Deano's house ranch dressing. It's amazing. I love getting their salads or shrimp pasta salad (Yum!) JUST for the ranch dressing. There's also a light version of the dressing that you can request. If you like fried mushrooms, the app comes with the dressing as the dipping sauce. Another favorite on the menu is the spinach dip app served with fried eggplant. The menu is quite extensive, but it's hard to break away from our tried and true favorites. We love Deano's and make it a point to visit every time we're in town. Note there's an additional parking lot across the street.

It is my favorite pizza in Lafayette but I just cannot stand to eat in but only take out. Too many people. Nice selection of toppings and from what I remember the price is pretty decent. Then again I have living in a city right now where a 10 inch pizza that taste like garbage and has hair in it cost 25 bucks. So maybe my standards are lowered.

I will be brief and to the point on Deano's. Their pizza sucks, and If you think that it's good, then it's obvious that you've never had a real pie. I have, in at least 100 places in NY, NJ, PA, CA, TX, FL and probably 15 other states. I've even eaten pizza in Italy. This stuff bears no resemblance to even a good pizza place, and NYC has one on every corner of the city. If you want to try a decent pie in Lafayette, try Sbaarro's in Acadiana Mall... now THAT is a slice of pizza.

Lafayette, LA has the best food in the world. So when a native thinks of home, we likely think of a few of our favorite restaurants (or mom's who kick ass in the kitchen.) When I'm coming home, Deano's is on my top 5 to go to. Cosmo's, seafood pizza, and killer desserts... all in one spot. Me thinks heaven is near!

The parking lot is small, so if it is full it must be good, right? This is a stop I will make from now on when traveling west-to-east (or vice versa). The menu is simple. The service is good. I only wish I could have been here for dinner instead of lunch - because then I would have stayed longer and partook of the alcohol that was freely flowing around us at lunch (does anybody work around here?) I had the Deano's special sandwich and was very happy. The only slightly negative comment I would make is "what is up wit the Lay's potato chips from the bag?" This place is a mess of a good time.

I liked the unique pizza toppings & crispy crust on the 8" whole wheat Marie LaVeaux pizza I ordered. It somehow didn't overly impress me though. But $16 bill for a pizza w added shrimp topping, a draft abita amber, & a spinach salad is pretty good. My waitress was really nice and on point as well.

I wish there was a rating between 'A-OK' and 'Meh', but since it really wasn't 'A-OK' to me, I'll have to go with 'Meh.' The pizza here is more frustrating than anything else. It has potential as the crust has a nice texture as it is semi-flaky and crisp, it's cooked well and not rushed out of the oven too soon, BUT, it has no flavor whatsoever. This drags the taste of the whole pizza down. There is very little to no salt in the dough and it tastes like it. The toppings are very generous, actually a little too generous and this unfortunately is probably to make up for the bland crust, which is impossible to do. My other major complaint is their large pizza is not very large at all. In fact, it's probably what most pizza joints sell as their small size. Deano's has been around a long time and I think they just take their pizza for granted because people keep coming in. It's time for the owners (who I hope read this) to go back and honestly re-evaluate. The most basic thing they could do is to season the dough properly with salt. You just cannot make a good pizza with a bland crust. Lafayette is a world-class food town and deserves to have at least one good pizzeria. So far I haven't found one. We shouldn't have to live with "Well, it's good pizza for Lafayette." UPDATE 4/13: I'm not sure if they altered their dough recipe or we just hit an unusually good night, but the crust actually tasted more savory this time and properly salted. Maybe all the negative comments about the blandness of their crust helped, but it did improve the taste of the pizza overall. Giving them one more star.

Love it! What can I say, it's a local establishment and has great pizza. Their other menu offerrings are really good as well. The Lasagna Lafayette is awesome, but extremely rich. Other notables are the "Don't feed the chicken its already stuffed," the shrimp po-boy, several really good and large salads, and our 8 year old loves the spaghetti. That being said, it's the pizza that keeps me coming back. The T-Rex (i.e. meat lovers) pizza is my absolute favorite. On my last visit we tried the Ragin Cajun pizza which had chicken and sausage on it and we really liked it. It had an eddible UL logo on the pizza which was a nice touch. As others have said the atomsphere is nothing to write home about, but that doesn't keep the place from getting packed. It is a kid friendly place which is important to us. And most importantly, the beer is always cold.

Awesome pizza, service, and atmosphere. A great place to go if you want good pizza and food served quickly and efficiently. For those of us toting children and impatient adults, it's a godsend. Hardly a pub or trendy yuppastraunt, it is a good place to cool off or warm up after a game.
Sad to see a Lafayette landmark going down. My friends and I have been going to DeanO's for years. Usually great food, nice atmosphere, and top-notch service. Not so for this week at Bertrand location. We asked for our cold crawfish nachos to be reheated! The waitress said ok then brought back the microwaved plate without fixing it up. Looked like a glob of mess. Pizza was ok. Sandwich ok but not the high quality expected. Fries sat out before delivered. The au jus sauce for my sandwich was cold. Our waitress was busy with other customers so I decided to go up front myself. Waited quite a long time. Everyone simply ignored me standing there. Finally, a nice young man helped me out. -He asked the takeout attendant who was on the phone what was i doing there and she told him she didn't know- My au jus was microwaved and left on the order pickup. When a waitress finally picked it up she walked up to another and said "what do I do with this." I said thank you and took it from her. As I was walking back to my seat, I looked at my boyfriend and told him we needed to get out of there. Never have we been disappointed with DeanO's. If this would have been our first visit, we would NOT be back. We will stick to DeanO's Southside.

I can't believe all of the rave reviews for Deano's pizza. I didn't try anything else off of their menu except the pizza, but I seriously was craving Pizza Hut after having the pizza here, and trust me that's not a good thing. It was a sad disappointment. :( :( :( I loved some of the toppings they offered for the pizza such as candied jalapenos. That's where the extra star came in for my review. I would never come back here again. Sorry Lafayette. I know everyone here loves this place but there are way better pizza joints out there.

Deano's on Bertrand Drive is the best place to get pizza in Lafayette. I don't know how many times I've been to this place but they have delicious pizza and salads. I had the famous Cajun Canaille pizza with the white sauce (not the red) and it was cooked perfectly. It's a very simple pizza: shrimp, Louisiana smoked sausage, and jalapenos. That's it. I also tried a Canebrake beer which I haven't had and it was pretty good as well. Great food, service, and beer is all you need.

There are things I love about Deanos: -Super friendly service -Excellent smoked sausage which is generously piled on the pizza -Beer is cold -Prices are good -Pizzas are fresh and tasty -Open Sunday nights But... Atmosphere is just so-so, pretty anonymous spot and decor. Crisp crust (nice) is not very flavorful (sad). I started out thinking I should give this 4 stars cuz I loved the server and the sausage. But I just can't...still, I'd go back, don't get me wrong.

OK so the very first time I ate here with my husband I was abysmally disappointed, I ordered just a straight peperoni pizza, eh it was to greasy and not all that good. then I bunch of people from work decided to go there and I ordered a lunch special salad and a personal pizza this time I ordered a specialty pizza, I cant recall what it was called but it was thin crust with olive oil base with chicken mozzarella and green onions, MUCH better.. very good in fact, for thin crust.. thin crust has its own charm and I enjoy it yet its not my favorite. Id definitely go back but Id be Leary of ordering anything else besides the chicken pizza.. service was slow but I tend to find that in Lafayette if you go to any non chain establishment that you find that very Cajun french layed back environment.. where people do not get in a rush and they take their time.

However, while it may be tasty, or hit-or-miss, throwing a bunch of shrimp and crab meat on a pizza when you haven't developed a method of actually marrying the tastes together is hardly "gourmet" pizza, and it's struggling to say it's even sometimes good. Service is generally friendly and quick and features local pretty girls from the near-by college.. Apparently the male employees are kept in the back because, well, this is South Louisiana. Good for a group of friends or a tasty lunch but in the end, it really is just another pub serving pub food with a pizza slant.

Deano's is a Lafayette staple! This isn't your typical pizza...it has a Cajun twist! I've gone to Deano's since I was a child, and it never disappoints. We love their support of UL and the friendly service it always provides. Hands down, the best pizza is the Cajun Canaille. Thinly sliced smoked sausage piled high with shrimp and jalapeños to top it off. It's perfect. If you'd like to add onions, bell peppers, and more jalapeños, get the Cajun Executioner...same thing with added ingredients. We usually get a large sampler pizza with up to 4 or so different kinds. For crab lovers, the Marie LeVeaux is worth a try and was my previous favorite before I discovered the Canaille. And now, the ranch dressing...oh, the Deano's house ranch dressing. It's amazing. I love getting their salads or shrimp pasta salad (Yum!) JUST for the ranch dressing. There's also a light version of the dressing that you can request. If you like fried mushrooms, the app comes with the dressing as the dipping sauce. Another favorite on the menu is the spinach dip app served with fried eggplant. The menu is quite extensive, but it's hard to break away from our tried and true favorites. We love Deano's and make it a point to visit every time we're in town. Note there's an additional parking lot across the street.

It is my favorite pizza in Lafayette but I just cannot stand to eat in but only take out. Too many people. Nice selection of toppings and from what I remember the price is pretty decent. Then again I have living in a city right now where a 10 inch pizza that taste like garbage and has hair in it cost 25 bucks. So maybe my standards are lowered.

I will be brief and to the point on Deano's. Their pizza sucks, and If you think that it's good, then it's obvious that you've never had a real pie. I have, in at least 100 places in NY, NJ, PA, CA, TX, FL and probably 15 other states. I've even eaten pizza in Italy. This stuff bears no resemblance to even a good pizza place, and NYC has one on every corner of the city. If you want to try a decent pie in Lafayette, try Sbaarro's in Acadiana Mall... now THAT is a slice of pizza.

Lafayette, LA has the best food in the world. So when a native thinks of home, we likely think of a few of our favorite restaurants (or mom's who kick ass in the kitchen.) When I'm coming home, Deano's is on my top 5 to go to. Cosmo's, seafood pizza, and killer desserts... all in one spot. Me thinks heaven is near!

The parking lot is small, so if it is full it must be good, right? This is a stop I will make from now on when traveling west-to-east (or vice versa). The menu is simple. The service is good. I only wish I could have been here for dinner instead of lunch - because then I would have stayed longer and partook of the alcohol that was freely flowing around us at lunch (does anybody work around here?) I had the Deano's special sandwich and was very happy. The only slightly negative comment I would make is "what is up wit the Lay's potato chips from the bag?" This place is a mess of a good time.

I liked the unique pizza toppings & crispy crust on the 8" whole wheat Marie LaVeaux pizza I ordered. It somehow didn't overly impress me though. But $16 bill for a pizza w added shrimp topping, a draft abita amber, & a spinach salad is pretty good. My waitress was really nice and on point as well.

I wish there was a rating between 'A-OK' and 'Meh', but since it really wasn't 'A-OK' to me, I'll have to go with 'Meh.' The pizza here is more frustrating than anything else. It has potential as the crust has a nice texture as it is semi-flaky and crisp, it's cooked well and not rushed out of the oven too soon, BUT, it has no flavor whatsoever. This drags the taste of the whole pizza down. There is very little to no salt in the dough and it tastes like it. The toppings are very generous, actually a little too generous and this unfortunately is probably to make up for the bland crust, which is impossible to do. My other major complaint is their large pizza is not very large at all. In fact, it's probably what most pizza joints sell as their small size. Deano's has been around a long time and I think they just take their pizza for granted because people keep coming in. It's time for the owners (who I hope read this) to go back and honestly re-evaluate. The most basic thing they could do is to season the dough properly with salt. You just cannot make a good pizza with a bland crust. Lafayette is a world-class food town and deserves to have at least one good pizzeria. So far I haven't found one. We shouldn't have to live with "Well, it's good pizza for Lafayette." UPDATE 4/13: I'm not sure if they altered their dough recipe or we just hit an unusually good night, but the crust actually tasted more savory this time and properly salted. Maybe all the negative comments about the blandness of their crust helped, but it did improve the taste of the pizza overall. Giving them one more star.

Love it! What can I say, it's a local establishment and has great pizza. Their other menu offerrings are really good as well. The Lasagna Lafayette is awesome, but extremely rich. Other notables are the "Don't feed the chicken its already stuffed," the shrimp po-boy, several really good and large salads, and our 8 year old loves the spaghetti. That being said, it's the pizza that keeps me coming back. The T-Rex (i.e. meat lovers) pizza is my absolute favorite. On my last visit we tried the Ragin Cajun pizza which had chicken and sausage on it and we really liked it. It had an eddible UL logo on the pizza which was a nice touch. As others have said the atomsphere is nothing to write home about, but that doesn't keep the place from getting packed. It is a kid friendly place which is important to us. And most importantly, the beer is always cold.

Awesome pizza, service, and atmosphere. A great place to go if you want good pizza and food served quickly and efficiently. For those of us toting children and impatient adults, it's a godsend. Hardly a pub or trendy yuppastraunt, it is a good place to cool off or warm up after a game.

Worst customer service experience EVER! Our waitress had a party of 20 in one room and we were in the next room. She was so busy we rarely saw her. We only wanted to order entrées but she insisted on crawfish nachos as our appetizers so we caved and ordered them. She said we should order them because it was gonna take a while to get our food and the nachos would be out immediately. 30 minutes later we were still waiting for the nachos. We saw an employee walk out of the kitchen with nachos and look around the dining room as if he were looking for who to take them to. Finally he sat them down on the nearest table to him. 2 minutes later another employee sat at the table to eat the nachos. Finally was flagged someone down and asked about our appetizer. After some asking around and some confusion we were brought an order of nachos which were mostly dry. 10 minutes later I saw our order up in the window and our server no where to be found. After watching our food get cold for 10 more minutes I finally flagged over one of the two staff members who were horsing around in the drink prep area. So many people walked in and out of the kitchen and never bothered to see who the food was for. No one in the kitchen asked anyone to be a runner and get the food out. We were so irritated that we just wanted to leave and eat somewhere else but we didn't want the food to go to waste. I don't need to go on. Will never return.

Sad to see a Lafayette landmark going down. My friends and I have been going to DeanO's for years. Usually great food, nice atmosphere, and top-notch service. Not so for this week at Bertrand location. We asked for our cold crawfish nachos to be reheated! The waitress said ok then brought back the microwaved plate without fixing it up. Looked like a glob of mess. Pizza was ok. Sandwich ok but not the high quality expected. Fries sat out before delivered. The au jus sauce for my sandwich was cold. Our waitress was busy with other customers so I decided to go up front myself. Waited quite a long time. Everyone simply ignored me standing there. Finally, a nice young man helped me out. -He asked the takeout attendant who was on the phone what was i doing there and she told him she didn't know- My au jus was microwaved and left on the order pickup. When a waitress finally picked it up she walked up to another and said "what do I do with this." I said thank you and took it from her. As I was walking back to my seat, I looked at my boyfriend and told him we needed to get out of there. Never have we been disappointed with DeanO's. If this would have been our first visit, we would NOT be back. We will stick to DeanO's Southside.

I can't believe all of the rave reviews for Deano's pizza. I didn't try anything else off of their menu except the pizza, but I seriously was craving Pizza Hut after having the pizza here, and trust me that's not a good thing. It was a sad disappointment. :( :( :( I loved some of the toppings they offered for the pizza such as candied jalapenos. That's where the extra star came in for my review. I would never come back here again. Sorry Lafayette. I know everyone here loves this place but there are way better pizza joints out there.

Deano's on Bertrand Drive is the best place to get pizza in Lafayette. I don't know how many times I've been to this place but they have delicious pizza and salads. I had the famous Cajun Canaille pizza with the white sauce (not the red) and it was cooked perfectly. It's a very simple pizza: shrimp, Louisiana smoked sausage, and jalapenos. That's it. I also tried a Canebrake beer which I haven't had and it was pretty good as well. Great food, service, and beer is all you need.

There are things I love about Deanos: -Super friendly service -Excellent smoked sausage which is generously piled on the pizza -Beer is cold -Prices are good -Pizzas are fresh and tasty -Open Sunday nights But... Atmosphere is just so-so, pretty anonymous spot and decor. Crisp crust (nice) is not very flavorful (sad). I started out thinking I should give this 4 stars cuz I loved the server and the sausage. But I just can't...still, I'd go back, don't get me wrong.

OK so the very first time I ate here with my husband I was abysmally disappointed, I ordered just a straight peperoni pizza, eh it was to greasy and not all that good. then I bunch of people from work decided to go there and I ordered a lunch special salad and a personal pizza this time I ordered a specialty pizza, I cant recall what it was called but it was thin crust with olive oil base with chicken mozzarella and green onions, MUCH better.. very good in fact, for thin crust.. thin crust has its own charm and I enjoy it yet its not my favorite. Id definitely go back but Id be Leary of ordering anything else besides the chicken pizza.. service was slow but I tend to find that in Lafayette if you go to any non chain establishment that you find that very Cajun french layed back environment.. where people do not get in a rush and they take their time.

I moved away to Texas and must stop at Deano's when I return home for their awesome food!!!! Everything they make it great, the service is decent, and there's always ice cold Abita on tap! My favorites? the fried mushrooms, almost any pizza of the month, and the crawfish nachos!!! The Oliva Oil Crust is to die for. I love the Marie Laveaux, too!

Their motto is "Pizza Like No Other" and I would agree wholeheartedly. Their pizza is a lot of things, but pizza it's not. Basically, if you want everything but the kitchen sink on your pizza, then you're in luck. With names like "The Cajun Executioner", you'll surely be surprised if nothing else. How about the Zuschlag Special? Got to be good, right??? It is the most popular pizza spot in Lafayette, so who am I to judge? If your thing is lots of noise in a frat house atmosphere with weird choices on top of your pie, then come on in and PARTY!!
