We come here regularly and sit outside on the patio. How many places in Lafayette have a shaded patio that is nice and cool? Santa margarita Pinot Grigio with Caesar salad and a calzone is how we roll! He calzone is nice and crisp and delicious!

This review concerns the pizza only. Just like the other crappy pizza joints in Lafayette, Antoni's trys to make a good pie, but the crust, cheese and over all pizza taste just does not measure up to a real pie, whether you get that pie in NYC, New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, or countless other cites where they know how to do it. They just do not know how to do it in Lafayette - at any place. And if you think that Deanos's or Alessi's has good pie, then you've never had a real pizza. On the other hand, I am going to go back for Antoni's Italian food. The place is nice, a bit romantic, and I do want to give their pasta and chicken parm a try.

Calzones are amazing. I pick one up to go when I don't feel like making dinner. They are also a good price. All of the ingredients are so fresh! They had a really good chicken special on 2/28/15. All of their food is delicious. I also enjoy the spinach salad. Pizzas are also tastey. I am very picky about pizza and calzones. And this is the best place to get fresh pizza. Yeah the atmosphere is strange, but it gets cozier as the meal goes on.

Nice quiet cosy. Great food. Good service. I tend to forget about this place tucked away in the back corner of the oil center gardens. Tonight I had the petit filet medium rare with gorgonzola pepper sauce and risotto. It was divine. Along with a nice glass if chianti. To finish it all of tiramisu.

In truth this place is rather lame. The food is good enough but not stellar...it's in a shopping plaza and just really doesn't have any character. However, I feel like I eat here every time I am in town?! Is it convenient, it must be. Whatever it is, there is something that brings me back ALL THE TIME so it must have some redeeming quality worth mentioning...it just doesn't come to mind.

Strengths: Great decor. Quite environment suitable for a date or outing with friends. Good menu. Friendly service. Plenty of parking. Desperate bar area. Opportunities: The garlic breadsticks were okay. Free with coupon. Would have been disappointed if I had to pay for them. Food slow to come out. Summary: I really enjoyed it. I will come back next time I am in town.

As soon as we walked in we were greeted immediately!...We were making a to go order so we were instructed where to go to do so. We sat at the bar while our food was being prepared...the bartender was awesome!...before we knew it our food was ready! Awesome service!!!!!

Yes, I'm a pizza snob.... For thin crust, fresh ingredient, real-deal pizza this is the spot in Lafayette. They've gone thru the trouble of not using the generic Sysco ingredients and use a lot of imported items. The owners have traveled a lot, know what's out there and have a done a very good job. If I were dating again, this would also be my spot to impress. Very low key casual, and cool. Nice lighting and ambiance. Not a zoo like a lot of pizza spots around town.

This place brings me back. I came here for my senior prom. Nice atmosphere and nice Italian food. I suggest this place if you're looking for something different than the usual in Lafayette.

I've been here several times and have never had a bad meal. I recommend the Bolognese pasta or the marinara pasta with Italian sausage. Reasonable prices, too.

I see that I reviewed this place back in April. Well, it ain't changed... and that's a very good thing! :) My wife and I had a quick dinner right after work last night. I knew there was a reason we went back. We had a delicious meal in a most pleasant atmosphere. If you'd like to feel "like an adult" when you eat (instead of ordering food by yelling into a drive-though speaker), this is the place. Clean, neat, fresh flowers on the tables, candles, white tableclothes (well, more like paper, but you get the idea). Here's my summary (much like it was four months ago): Food - *excellent*. I had pasta bolognese which was as good as I've ever eaten! Service - *great*. The young lady named Meagan was polite, friendly, helpful, and very good at her job. Price - *reasonable*. Atmosphere - hmmm. a little "kitchy" perhaps but overall very charming. inviting and pleasant. bright and welcoming. fresh flowers on the tables. small candles. *very* clean and neat. the kind of place where grownups can enjoy a nice meal like adults should do every once in a while (rather than shoveling food down more like a pit stop than a meal). Impression - *recommend* highly.

Cool little Italian joint... Kinda tucked back in a plaza. I had the Pasta Fresca and it was good. Bread roll that came with it was good as well. Good value and experience overall!

This is a great place to come for a weekday lunch. Excellent calzones and the gelato is wonderful! It's the closest I've found outside of the Eternal City. It's also a great place for a romantic dinner.

We had high hopes based on reviews from friends, the menu, and the lovely atmosphere. It was a beautiful evening, so we chose a nice table on the patio. Our appetizer of cheesy bread sticks with marinara was delicious, yet it took a while to get. My salad with the house olive Italian dressing was very good. Our entrees left a bit to be desired. The Luciano pizza wasn't bad, but was nothing special. The breadsticks were better. My daughter's angel hair with marinara was quite too spicy, and the manager did not charge us for it. I rounded off my meal with a tasty cappuccino and a lady finger which was a nice touch. Great ending to a decent enough meal in a very lovely locale. I would go back even if just for coffee on the pretty porch.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
