We have been traveling from New Orleans to Kinder on business monthly for 3 years and have eaten at all of the "very few" restaurants this quaint Cajun town has to offer including all of the Coushatta Casino restaurants and this little place here is hands down the best in town. We make it a point to eat here at least once while in town. The only reason that I didn't give 5 stars is because of the noise level....very loud Their ribeye steaks are surprisingly quite good and salad bar is nice and fresh. I will continue giving this place my business when in town.

Always a must-visit when I'm in Kinder. I haven't been in several years, but there was very little change. Still good food, and plenty to eat. There was a bit of a wait for Sunday diners. The lot is still gravel paved, which I was concerned about on my iffy tire. I had the catfish and shrimp, and sweet tea. While waiting, enjoy the salad bar. The ranch dressing was starting to be a bit low, but was enough for me :) A child next to me spilled his drink on grandpa, and the staff was very good about cleaning it up and consoling the child. Seems to be a local favorite, as I overheard folks saying they came from nearby towns. I was still working on my food when I was asked if I wanted take-out. No, I'm good. Since I was staying in a motel, I was going to finish it.

Service is good but super slow. They only had 3 tables counting mine and the food took more then 40 min. The food is average and to salty.

We thought the fish platter was great! The shrimpwere very succulent, all fish fried perfectly, service very good, sauces really good.

Visit Kinder and stayed locally while doing a job in the area for ten days. Kinder is limited on restaurants and Roy's is located on the main Hwy 165 going thru town. Personally the food and service is poor quality and generic as can be. The last time that I was in the area was 2005 and it was just A-ok then and pretty much the same today as of March 2014. Quality of the food was poor and really makes the drive to DI's Cajun Restaurant 18 miles east worth the trip. I will not visit again until I hear that things and attitude has changed.

On our way back to Texas, we decided to stop at this nice little catfish place and were rewarded in doing so. The catfish was great and the service was very polite. Will definitely stop again if we get the opportunity.

Great place to eat Excellent catfish, salad bar was fresh, staff very friendly and great price. I will be sure to stop by at Roy's the next time in the area.

I used to live 30 minutes from here and me and my family would regularly make the drive just for Roy's seafood!! I have been going to this place for years. This is the best seafood place I know in Louisiana. Yes I've been all over and Roy's is my number one favorite. Good friendly service and reasonable prices. Love the salad bar and fish and shrimp are my faves here.
