Olive Garden in general has been getting a bad wrap lately. It's not somewhere that I normally choose to go, but I am never upset to get a gift card to OG. This OG in particular may have some cleanliness issues. I've been a handful of times in the last few years. Each time the wait staff has looked entirely different. A year or two ago when we went for dinner it was packed and we had to wait way longer than what we were told. I remember I ordered something that was only there for a limited time, but it was so delicious. I wish I could remember what that was. This time we were worried that there would be a wait on a Friday around 630, but there wasn't a wait at all. They have the 10 dollar never ending pasta deal going on right now which is great if you are really hungry. We ordered from that although we knew that we wouldn't be getting more than one bowl of pasta. I ordered gluten free noodles with a garlic wine sauce and chose to add chicken for an extra charge. I really enjoyed it! My boyfriend ordered spaghetti and meatsauce. The waitress tried to talk him out of it (not sure why), but he really liked it. The salad was good. The breadsticks were a little hard though. Overall the food was yummy, the service was fine, the wait for food wasn't long, and the price was fair.

We are trying to figure out what item caused the food poisoning. It's between the calamari, the stuffed mushrooms, or my rancid uncooked sausage rigatoni. I think the main issue besides the food is the lack of parking. Oh, and don't give away your silverware during your apps and salad. You will have to wait forever for replacements even though the server was notified when she took the utensils.

I'm typically not a huge fan of Olive Garden and never really go there, but I received a gift card so I decided to use it on our visit to NOLA. This Olive Garden was exceptionally good. I'm not sure if it's because we were in the car for 8 years and were starving, or if it was really that good. I'm going with the later. We got there at about 8pm and it was empty. Although, kind of awkward..the hostess seated us in the back room of the restaurant where there was a big group of people celebrating a special occasion. It was kinda awkward, I kind of wish we were not apart of their party celebration. Lol, but there we were next to them..when the whole restaurant was empty. We had the calamari to start which was super yummy! My daughter and I split the Tour of Italy and there was more than enough for us both, we left stuffed and with leftovers. Our server was super nice, as I've noticed most people down in NOLA are. Awww.

They fill you up with unlimited breadsticks and soup or salad before your entrée even arrives. So you know you're getting your money's worth. Service is always great. We got the 4 course special for $12.99 and we were not disappointed.

Five stars. Meatball was little dry. Cheezy fried risotto thing = the bomb. Essentially a fried ball of cheese. Not a thing that can be easily screwed up. Edward is the best waiter ever. Edward hooked it up with the mints and catered to friends weirdo demands. She didn't like the chicken smoked mozzarella dish, but then Edward fixed it. Edward and his headband deserves all the tips. Edward. Edward. Edward. $5 wine - not the worst $5 wine I've ever had. Only use bread towels as kleenex in severe emergency. They are a bit rough. Ouch. It's pasta. It's sauce. It's some kind of Italian food ajace. It's in Kenner, sooo.... Yeah. Edward.

Not bad for a chain restaurant. We eat at Olive Garden in Memphis on a regular basis so decided to try the one in Kenner. We were pleased to be seated immediately on a Saturday night (we were a bit early at 6 but the restaurant is large). Even though the restaurant is so large, the design of many small seating areas makes it feel more cozy. The food was typical Olive Garden. The salad was great. The soup good and hot. The entrees were enjoyable. The best thing about this visit was the service! Our server was quick, polite, and always striving to make our dinner a success.

We visited Olive on September 12, 2015 for my son's birthday. Our waiter was excellent the food was good. My daughter asked for a water and when it arrived there was a live gecko in it!!!!!! We had already eaten and drank almost everything so needless to say we were sick to our stomachs:(( We asked for the manager and she comped our meal and we received a $75 gift card. Did not get a chance to snap a photo we were in such shock!!!

Spicy Shrimp Scampi Fritta Usually 4 star rating but this dish was very surprising. In brief: delicious. Shrimp perfectly fried and not dried out with light breading, garlic, lemon and light chopped tomato seasoning- hardly discernible as to exact ingredients. Perfect! I'd recommend this dish to the most particular eater and for the price it was more than worth it: 8.79. I'd pay 13.00 bucks easily for this dish. Plenty shrimp on the plate.

Was lured in by the endless breadsticks and salad that was nostalgia for my childhood, left feeling like it was a bad value - 3 adults ate and had one drink for $70. Way too expensive for the quality.

Normally I wouldn't bother posting a review of Olive Garden...because...well...its an Olive Garden. I mean it is what it is...its like writing a review of a McDonalds location. Tonight however I had an experience that was so bad i thought it was worth posting to warn people away from this location. After being seated we waited at least 10 minutes before anyone even spoke to us. The first thing that was said to us around the 10 minute mark...when the waiter was running by our table and yelled at us "I will be back to take car of you in a minute (apology #1)." 5 minutes later he returned and apologized (#2) for taking so long. We placed our drink and food order at this time. 10 minutes later...or 25 minutes since we sat down...he came by with the salad finally...and to tell us that our drink orders were still not ready...apologized (#3). 5 minutes later we finally got waters...but not the drinks we ordered apologized (#4). We're now like 30 minutes or so in and I really wanted my beer so I got fussy at this point and asked if I needed to go get my own drink or maybe get the manager...he apologized (#5) again...5 more minutes and we got our drink. Our food came out shortly after the drinks. The food was no better or worse than usual but I was so frustrated that I wasn't even hungry anymore. Oh I should mention that I even went so far as to try and call the restaurant from my cell phone to speak with the manager while we waited for our drinks and was put on hold for 20+ minutes until I gave up. At the end of the meal we got apology numbers 6-10...but really who cares about any apology beyond the second maybe 3rd. Other crappy things: There was a shrieking child 2 tables over. We asked the waiter to please mention to the parent to please try and keep their child quiet...literally it was a glass breaking decibel level shriek every 5 minutes or so...nothing was done. To add insult to injury another table's kids had taken the electronic game from our table before we arrived. When we got our bill the charges from that toy showed up on our bill...one more thing we had to deal with before we escape the hell hole also known as the Kenner, LA Olive Garden. Now I need to copy this review and send it to Olive Garden corporate office.

Olive garden you disappoint me. It's been years since I have been here and I remember why. Carpets were dirty (old & stained) table was greasy and food was just ok. Took my mom here who recently gave up alcohol and server brought wine to the table (i forgot about this) overall not a good experience like I remember here. This place needs a makeover ASAP.

A review of Olive Garden on yelp? AHh...yea I did it oh well. A restaurant is a restaurant even if it is a franchise. whats wrong with me? I'm here in NOLA and I keep eating at places I can generally eat somewhere else in the mainland. I have only had Olive Garden 3 times in my life before. Either way, I did like my experience here. The wait was not very long. It was very clean and nice looking like they generally are. Our waitress was nice and cheerful, so that made the experience good as well. The bread sticks were amazing as always. Salad was ok, not a big fan of iceberg. . The food took a bit too long to come out though and my family was full of bread and salad before it came. We only ate like half and then had to take the rest to-go. Overall I would eat here again. It is OK. You get the good food Olive Garden has. It is nothing that will have you jumping off walls wanting some more, but it will satisfy you enough. I feel bad for those who had bad experiences here. Glad mine was much better from what I have read and heard from others.

I had a great experience and the food was great. Marsala is great, salad best anywhere. Always cheap for lunch.

I gave the Olive Garden a second try last night and still the same result from the first time. Their food is mediocre and some of the wait staff is okay. I feel like Papa Johns use better ingredients than this place. And that's sad.

I know you're probably wondering what I was doing at an Olive Garden, considering I live in one of the best food cities in the country. When someone suggested we go here, I was hesitant. The one and only time I had ever been here, I was 12 and I just remember hating it. But, I figured my food tastes have probably changed in the last 16 years, so I thought I would have an open mind and give it another shot. The food actually wasn't bad at all and it was super cheap, considering all you get. With two entrees, you get a big bowl of salad (to share) and breadsticks. That right there covers your appetizer. I got the linguine with marinara sauce. True, it's hard to screw that up, but I wasn't feeling adventurous enough to try one of their "stuffed" pastas. I decided to play it safe. This is one of those places that you know what you're getting when you go. It's a chain. The food is mass produced. You don't go here for authentic Italian, you go here because you want some cheap eats for your and some friends. I probably wouldn't trip over myself to go back to this place, but I might go sooner than another 16 years.

Zero star!! As soon as you step in the front door of the restaurant, it reeks foul. The restaurant is so stink that it is the first turn off. Where's management?? Instead of smelling like food, it smells like sewer, or more like Bourbon Street! Haven't been to an Olive Garden in years. So, remember vaguely how good their simple toss salad and breadsticks was...oh boy, was I wrong! The salad was wilted as though it's been sitting in open air for hours. The breadsticks were cold, it makes me wonder if they had took the leftover from another table and re-served it back to us. I've learned my lesson. I would never ever go back to this disgusting restaurant.

If you are eating Olive Garden in Kenner/New Orleans, then you can pretty much expect the same stuff at any of their other locations. But if you want good Italian not from a can or freezer, try a local restaurant like Sandro's or Vincents or Carmine's. All are much better and cheaper.

I dined at Olive Garden a few years ago and had a horrible experience and haven't gone back until my friends decided to come here. This previous was better because of our awesome waitress, but the food was still lacking for me. Yes, I love the unlimited salad and bread sticks (even if they're a bazillion calories!), but their entrees are soo UGH!! My friend and I shared the Shrimp Capreze as a recommendation from our waitress and it was sooooo bland! You already know I had to spice it up with some Tabasco to save it from its misery. The dish consists of grilled shrimp on top of a bed of angel hair pasta with a garlic-butter sauce. BLAHH. I stopped dining here because of another horrific entree I ate years ago. Olive Garden's only saving grace? I really like the stuffed mushrooms appetizer and the calamari was decent. The Zeppoli we had for dessert was also a big hit with the table. They're basically beignets but with the actual grains of sugar instead of powdered with a chocolate dipping sauce. The menu says it's supposed to be powdered, but I think I would know powdered sugar if I saw it, and it was definitely not! Though the food was lacking, our waittress was full of energy and attentive; we loved her! She was so nice and made the experience a lot better than it would have been. The time it took for our dessert and entrees to come out was a little longer than expected but not terribly long. The pricing of the food is rather inexpensive, so yes another plus. Would I come here again? Only if I have to. I would've given it 2 stars, but added the extra because of our waittress.

I like Olive Garden... but only for the soup, salad, and breadsticks at lunch. Entrees? Nah - I have a real Italian in my family, so I frequently get to enjoy better meals than Olive Garden's mass-produced "Italian" cuisine. There are tons of better local Italian restaurants throughout the metro area, too. I will say, their minestrone soup is delightful though, and I'm pretty sure the salad is laced with.. something... to make it addictive. I don't usually even like iceberg lettuce, but their salad is good. Lunch is cheap, too.

I love Olive Garden! Best appetizers. Consistently good service for the most part. Surprised the reviews are bad. Usually get to sit in a booth or at a big table. That new stuffed chicken was not that good. The new tortellini appetizer was very good. Very good lasagna and chicken parm.

Wine is over-priced and the desserts are sub par. This is a place you want to go to if you're not in the mood to cook and are craving a frozen dinner but want some nice scenery. Service is better than food though.

We tend to stop at the Olive Garden from time to time, especially when out near the mall. I like it for their salad and bread sticks. The Italian dishes are acceptable. Last time we ate there, I had the Lasagna rollata al forno. I enjoyed the lasagna rolls. Something different from their Lasagna Classico. My wife had the five cheese zita al forno. She thought she had ordered something else that she had for lunch a few weeks before, as she wasn't expecting a pasta dish smothered with sauce. We ended up taking it home and it went to work with me for lunch. They have an acceptable wine list, although I tend to stick with the Gabbiano chianti. I find the service is generally good, although they have had bad nights like most large chain restaurants. They are popular as we have to wait for a table most times we visit.

The food has to be Made by some hairnet wearing people located in a different state it's so bad. Everything is frozen and heated up at the restaurant how do I know? My friend use to be a "cook" the for 3 days. Food is bland and plated horribly

I use to always dine here but after years of "Kitchen Nightmares" my taste buds can tell when things are Fresh Frozen ... on a plus wait staff always friendly!

So yes, it's an Olive Garden and the same as all other Olive Garden's. But I do have to say that the service is always top notch. Pleasent and friendly and you are never left waiting. The Mussles as an app is a MUST! Salad and bread are always fresh and good. Main dishes always come out fast, hot and good flavors. Decent wine list and just an all around good place to eat.

What a bad experience! Now..don't get me wrong...the food was exactly as it should be..my lasagna was fantastic..the salad and breadsticks are always delicious....but the service at this Olive Garden is why I will always order to go if I'm craving Italian food again. The host was so rude I actually wanted to leave! And that's when I was standing so close to all the great smelling aromas coming out from the kitchen!! She was so unpleasant I actually turned and looked behind me to see if she was addressing someone else when she asked "what?". and I said "um....well....I was hoping to eat...". Her reply? "It will be awhile. sit down." I looked around and no one else was waiting so I said "alright. no problem...Ill run to the ladies room". I walked out as another couple walked in and requested a table for two, and simultaneously walked up to the stand with me as she grabbed the menus, looked at me, then gestured for the other couple to follow her! It will take a while to want to return for me if at all....

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
