I was in town for work and wasn't really located in a good area for restaurants. So, I checked my Yelp app and found this gem. This isn't located in the greatest part of town. So, I wouldn't recommend a single lady going alone at night, but then again I'm from out of town. I ordered a pupusa with beans and cheese. I've never had once before to tell you if this is authentic, but judging by the decor and the people serving - it is. It is also mighty tasty. I could have seriously eaten a heck of a lot more of them. I also ordered the Carne Asada lunch plate. The meat had great flavor, but it was pretty tough and kinda fatty. Some people like that type of meat. Turns out that I don't. It came with more refried beans, some white rice, and a salad that tasted like it had 1,000 Island Dressing on it (not good). The wait staff was super nice, and those pupusas were super tasty. I see me coming back to get more of those when I'm in town next.

Fiesta Latina is my go - to spot for pupusas, especially since La Profecia closed. The chips and salsa are very good as well. They serve Fresca Toronja to which is awesome. I have not tried anything else.

Ok, so my Venezuelan friend says I want to take you to a good Spanish restaurant and so of course the foodie in me says hell yeah! she takes me to a side of town I dont see very often and ill leave it at that. we sit by an empty stage? and the waitress comes up to take our drink order. I order a very white girl drink, iced tea. It ended up being sweet tea but I drank the liquid sugar anyway. We ordered the pork and cheese papusas, fried plantains and the sopa de marisco(seafood soup) everything was amazing! Im still dreaming about the broth. The plantains are served with creme fraiche(american terminology) and are heaven in your mouth. The papusas were good but I think next time I either wont order them again or ill doctor them up a bit. The soup contained white fish(prob tilapia),tons of shrimp, mussels and celery and onions in a coconut milk broth. Yummy! 3 people can easily share it and I happily ate my leftovers the next day. I def will return. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars bc of the decor/atmosphere. Mexican items are on the menu as well As far as the stage, it used to be a club at night but it got too rowdy

Perfect pupusas! The shredded cabbage salad is a well-balanced seasoned surprise! Perfect fried plantain! A refried black bean cup with crumbled queso anejo pairs well with the quick-steamed, refried rice... A perfect dish, for which I will return again. Within a mile of the airport, which is walking distance for most, and 100% guar-an-teed worth it. For many English-only speakers this will be a cultural experience. Get some!

My wife and I tried Fiesta Latina for dinner one night while craving some Mexican food. We walked in and the restaurant was empty at around 7pm (which is usually a red flag but we tried it anyways). While deciding what to order from the diverse menu (Mexican, Salvadoran, & Central American food) we thoroughly enjoyed the free chips and salsa and got some good recommendations from the friendly bartender/waitress. I decided to try the carne asada fiesta burrito (I was elated to find a mexican restaurant that offers this) and my wife had the cheese and pork pupusas. They were both pretty tasty! I think my wife and I enjoyed the refried beans that came with her meal the most! I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again but we enjoyed our meal!

I'll give it five stars, but they need to work on the ambiance. Let's talk about the food. We ordered 10 pupusas, 5 with cheese and 5 with beans. They delicious, not too greasy, well cooked and tasty. Also, we ordered yuca frita, fried yuca, which was fried to order. It was nice and crispy. I'll highly recommend it. The service was good. Our waitress was not intrusive nor over attentive. We are a Salvadorean family. My fiancé and I are very particular when it comes to eating pupusas at restaurant; however, this place nailed it. Can't wait to go back and try something else...

So good! This place has been consistent for years! Doesn't look like much from the outside but if you want really good, authentic central/Mexican foods and large portions, here go here!

For breakfast their huevos rancheros are excellent! For dinner I love their chile relleno, they have one of the best in the city.

Clean and spacious restaurant. Staff was friendly enough. Menu had various Mexican, Honduran and Salvadoran dishes. Ordered Doritas favorite which came with 2 pupusas, plantains, rice and beans. It was all fresh and looked delicious! Unfortunately it lacked flavor.. I took a few bites, ate one pupusa and gave the rest away. It was almost $9 for that plate. My dad had soup.. Tripe soup. He said it lacked flavor and the meat was hard. Oh well we tried it and won't be returning.

I'm currently working in the St. Rose area (past the airport). As there are so few places to eat in the area, I was on the prowl for good grub. Since I love tex-mex (or true Mexican food in this case), I had to give this place a try. Though I'm easy to please with my food choices, I really enjoyed it. The salsa is really fresh and might be the best that I've ever had. The staff were friendly and I always enjoy going there...

My mother's birthday dinner for 18 was awesome! The service was efficient and friendly, and the food was soooo good! I want to thank the staff for taking care of our big family so well. Fiesta is one of our most favorite restaurants, it's where my mom loves coming to for her birthday. The platanos and beans are the best here! The pupusas are only $7.95 for 5 and that's a bargain. The Mexican tortas yum!! My brother"s chicken and chorizo plate was amazing. It's our own little Latin jewel here in Kenner!!

First off... 5 pupusas for $5. Can't beat that. Be sure to split between at least 2 people, though, because they are super filling! Convenient location for me, right near the corner of Williams & Airline in Kenner. Friendly staff, great value, and fantastic food. Highly recommended, especially for lunch - dine in or takeout.

I went for Taco Tuesday ,five tacos for $5 .They were pretty good. I didn't really like the salsa pretty average and sweet tasting ,not all spicy .It tasted like there was sugar in it .The website is out of date too.. The website says a dollar and nine cents a Taco on Tuesday .But you can't just get 3 or 4 or 6 .You have to get 5...

Excellent! This is one of those authentic places you know is out there, but sometimes can be hard to find. Don't go here if you are in a rush, because they make most of the food when you order. But if you have some time it is worth the wait! I recommend the chile rellenos, but really it is all good. The food is fresh and full of flavor. You won't regret eating here.

Been to this place a few times the food is very good and the staff very friendly. The chips and salsa are fresh and the fish tacos amazing. If your near the area and want a great Mexican or American meal, stop by and you will not be let down.

This was the most unusual and oddly authentic South American dining food experience I have EVER had. Us gals roll up to this obscure hole in the wall, already I can hear the music booming as we park in the lot, 'Katie, where exactly are you taking me?' 'Annie, the food here will blow your mind - trust me!' I decided to trust her. In we walk and the whole room stopped to look at these obvious non-South Americans... I had my bag with Spanish writing on from my time in Guadalajara, Mexico. So I figured if I made sure to display it as we took our table I might get some credibility - yeah right. There was a live band playing the type of music I listened to on loop when I worked for a Mexican restaurant back in the day, happy days. The speakers covered the stage, the place was way too small for all them and they were too loud, not that I of course intended to complain as I am sure that would have gone down like a lead balloon. One piece of advice, bring a friend that speaks Spanish. Thankfully Katie does. We got the plantains, corn and I tried pork pupusas which originate from El Salvador, they were great. They came with a side of pickled cabbage, rice, beans. Unlike 'Mexican' food, this was authentic and not loaded down with cheeses. I also got a flan for dessert which evoked happy waitressing memories. At one point the singer did a shout out to all the countries in the house, the folks from Honduras to the left of me made their presence known as did several other South American countries which was really cool. As I took in the atmosphere of laughter, tequila shots, attractive waitresses dancing between the tables, I noticed over 10 security cameras, 'Katie, why the hell do they have so many cameras for such a small place?' 'You know I never noticed that before - huh.' And then a fight broke out, the band stopped playing and everyone rolled out into the parking lot as I continued to eat my flan. That said the staff where lovely and thanked us for coming as we left. Advice, do please come here as the food is real food from the region, but come for breakfast or lunch not at 9pm on Saturday night.

I went here on a Sunday afternoon with my wife and mother-in-law (they are Cuban, I am not) The location had me concerned because it is in a sketchy part of Kenner on Airline between Williams Blvd and the Airport access road. Once we got there, we thought about turning around....but decided to go in. The inside looks a bit run down. There is a bar on the right with a oddly short counter and a stage to the left. All of the signage there was in Spanish, which may put off some non-spanish speaking customers. One look at the menu and you will realize that this is typical no Mexican restaurant. There were lots of authenic Mexican dishes as well as Honduran & El Salvador. Papusas people! The waitress took our orders in spanish (including mine) which i was worried about at first. Luckily, I can understand a decent amount to at least place an order. The carne asada with fried plantains was excellent. The beef burrito was huge with juicy grilled steak inside. We happened to go on a day with live entertainment. The two-man band gave a shout-out to all of the countries represented in the restaurant & sang traditional songs from those countries. They are pretty good, so make sure you leave them a tip in their jar. It is labled "la propina" if you were wondering. Overall good experience. I am not sure why they consider themselves a "Mexican" restaurant because they clearly have Central America covered with their offerings. The next time I go, I will be more adventurous w/ what I order. However, I will make sure its during the day because of the location. Enjoy.

I don't know what happened, but this place got really shitty. The prices all went up about 30% and the food started to suck. We ordered enough food for 8 people and instead of being around $100 (the usual) it was around $140 and not a single thing was as good as it usually is. The meat in the tacos was dry and hard to eat. The papusas were so greasy that the entire inside of the take out container was completely soaked in orange grease. The fajitas were tough and greasy and the torta barely had any meat in it. Completely disappointed. Never again.

My new favorite Mexican cuisine restaurant! Food was great and prices very reasonable. And we walked out with plenty of food in our take-out boxes. The owner was very friendly :)

Definitely an interesting place. Maybe a little run down, wouldn't go alone at night necessarily. The food was pretty good and menu was extensive but I would not say it really stood out in quality from most other mexican places with similar prices, at least what I ordered. My dad got some fish thing that was pretty good but it was a type of fish with a lot of bones. Anyway, definitely an interesting place to try out for its extensive mexican / south american menu and unique atmosphere.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
