The food was no good and the services even topped that. I will not go back to this place again.

This place is never packed, always has good service and has some pretty decent food.

The service was good, the food was good, and they even had a guy playing the guitar and taking requests. They give you chips with salsa and bean dip free. I had three tacos, one with chicken, one with steak, and one with chorizo. Yummy! We will be back!

This place is ok. My waitress was just average. She did seat me with free salda, and bean chips and dip so I can't complain to bad. The place is prettt much empty. It reminds me of a restauraunt or bar off of these two movies "Desperado" and "Once upon a time in Mexico".I ordered the chicken quesadilla. Its not bad at all. I also did dessert and everything was delicious I had tres leches cake which was pretty good

For years now, I've always ordered the '1910' with a side of sour cream and a top-shelf margarita. The bean dip is FAB, and the servers are ALWAYS pleasant.

Don't know where the people who posted bad reviews ate, but it certainly was not Casa Tequila! This restaurant is simply the very best and most authentic Tex-Mex in New Orleans!!!!!!!

Food prices are good but the service is very mediocre. Maybe thats the trade off for low prices! Our server was more interested in speaking with his family - friends, whoever they were, than with servicing the table. His tip reflected my discontentment. I would be reluctant to return.

I have no idea what all the negative reviews are for. I've been coming here for years and the food and service are excellent. I love their shredded chicken tacos and the El General's Plate. The service is quick and courteous and I've never been ignored or been treated rudely. The prices are very reasonable and the food is wonderful.

I give casa tequila 4.8 stars. I have been searching for the perfect mexican restaurant in new orleans for the past six months and I think I found it. When you are seated you get chips, salsa, and refried beans. They have delicious horchata for $2 w/ free refills (even thought I don't think it's on the menu). I had the chimichanga, which was tasty. Most of the things come served with a side of refried beans and rice. Price was about $10 a person. Atmosphere was plain but clean and the service was average. I will definately be coming back here to try more things on the menu - perhaps the giant burrito! Update: If you go for lunch, you can get all the same stuff for $5-6, same portions and everything!

It's a little hole in the wall restaurant. Quiet not crowded. Service is ok. Food is great!

First of all full disclosure: I'm a vegetarian so this limits my options at places. Overall I was unimpressed with this place. The complimentary chips and salsa were passable (perhaps jarred or canned) and the beans were not vegetarian but the mexican rice was. The rice had a decent flavor. I had a cheese enchilada plate and it was just super greasy. I got green sauce and it was pretty bland. In fact I didn't even finish all of my food and I always finish all of my food. I don't think I would go back. It just looked dead compared to the sushi place next door.

The service was not bad but the food that we ordered was not good. We ordered the chicken soup, shrimp enchiladas and the beef quesadillas - all not good. The shrimp in the enchiladas tasted as if they were boiled and had a very rubbery texture. The only thing I did enjoy was the beans that they give with the chips (the salsa that they give tastes like it came from a can).

Since I grew up in Kenner I have dined at this restaurant quite a few times. Last month I decided to try them out again since it has been about 3 yrs since my last visit. This restaurant is never busy. No ambiance here as the decor has been the same since the early 90s and the dining room looks very uninviting with cheap tables/chairs/booths. The service is not great as the servers take their time to greet you and then after bringing out your food rarely ever check on you. I do love their bean dip and tortilla soup though. That is about the only saving grace for this place. I can't recommend anything else from their menu worth coming here for.

Pass this place up. Terrible service when we were there. We both ordered unsweetened tea (both came sweet) and tacos; I asked for mine with no cilantro... Of course they came with so much cilantro I couldn't eat them (And the cilantro was mixed through the meat so I couldn't even pick it off). Tried to flag down a waitress but she never came back to the table until the bill was due. The Girly tried to eat my tacos but started to feel ill. So unless you want to go somewhere that can't get your order right and doesn't check on you at all, don't go there.

Underwhelmed. I was craving some Harbor Seafood (next door), but the wait was extreme. I was pretty hungry from a day of teaching seminars, so I strolled into Casa Tequila. The place was almost empty. I was greeted and seated instantly. Since I don't drink liquor, I guess I am missing one of the larger draws of this restaurant. The Negra Modelo was cold, the mug frosty, but I missed the lime in it the way El Salto has conditioned me. The chips were warm, but the side of guac was a ramakin. The salsa didn't have much flavor and the refried beans were runny. I ordered the seafood enchilada. The seafood didn't taste fresh, not spoiled, but somewhere between. The rice and beans were typical fare, nothing impressive. I asked for a side of hot sauce and they brought a bowl of really tasty, spicy sauce. (+1). The wait staff were attentive and quick. (+1). But if this is one of the better authentic Mexican restaurants around, I know now to go hungry rather than trying any others out when I am in Kenner.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
