Be aware that I am writing this review having gone into this restaurant fully prepared to be underwhelmed for two reasons: 1) It is a buffet, and buffets are notorious for having average quality food, at best 2) It is in Houma, Louisiana (nothing against Houma, I do like it here). I was with a friend, and I walked in slowly, thinking that I still had time to turn around and run out if I did not like what I saw. But, I was famished, so I did not want to have to do that. To my surprise, the buffet was large and had quite a bit to offer. The buffet looked clean, fresh and well put together. As I walked by the buffet to my table, I knew that self-control was going to be an issue, as I wanted to try everything that I saw. There was a pasta section that had different types of pastas and sauces that can be put on the pasta. I took some rotini and some linguini. I put a four cheese sauce on half and a meat/mushroom tomato sauce on the other half. It was edible, but kind of bland and quite watery. There were many different types of pizzas to choose from, but I only took a piece of cheese pizza. It was surprisingly tasty. My friend liked the pizza as well. Other things that I ate: Macaroni and cheese, salad, ice cream, shrimp fettucini, lasagna. All of it was good. There was a large desert section, a small fried food section, and many other things to choose from. If I am ever very hungry again, I would probably go back.

I love the food here! There are many items to choose from on the buffet! My faves are pizza, spaghetti w/ 4 cheese sauce, red beans & rice, bread sticks, and the best FRIED CHICKEN I've ever had! Great food!

Excellent (for a buffet of course!) I walked in expecting average food and an average selection, but I was wrong on both. They had 4 types of pastas with 6 sauces to choose from, 15 different types of pizzas, plus 5 other prepared pastas such as lasagna and shrimp fettucinni, gumbo, bbq chicken, fried chicken, salad bar and so much more! Even their desert bar had a great selection - chocolate chip cookies were amazing! I will definitely be going back...in fact, I think I am going to leave right now and head there!

OK. Being of Italian descent, I knew going in, that I would be biased. But, I really don't understand why its called Italian. What does, gumbo, red beans and rice, fried chicken, chicken wings have to do with being Italian? They had a tray of "lasagna" , multiple layers of noodles with red sauce. No ricotta, meats. 3 different pastas, drowning in oil so the wouldn't harden on under the lights. Congealed Alfredo sauce and a red sauce with sausage and mushrooms, with an inch of grease floating on top. Putting oil on pasta prevents sauce from actually stay on the pasta. I understand this is Cajun country, but the aftertaste of Cajun seasoning in the pasta was nasty! The dessert isle was also a mystery. Cookies. Banana pudding and assorted jellos are not even in the spectrum of being Italian! Not one cannoli, tirimasu, sofigliatelle. Not even Biscotti! Salad bar...again just boring. Italians eat antipasto which contains wonderful cheeses, meats, olives. ( an actual salad is eaten after the meal to cleanse the palate). Its dressed simply with Olive oil and red wine vinegar and is really just a few bites. I didn't have pizza. My husband tried it and said if it had been hot, it would of been good. The place was clean. But not worth it. At least the Chinese buffets have crab legs! They to are a mystery to me since there's not much Chinese food either.

Great price with a great selection of food. Pizza types are out of this world. Club, BBQ, pepperoni Alfredo. The fried pickles were good too and plenty of vegetables. Fed 9 plus a 2 yr old for $91. The service is great too. Your glass never goes dry. When I come back from Tn., I'll be back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
