My family and I tried this restaurant for the first time, and let's just say we're happy that we did! We enjoy many of the items on their menu including fried crab fingers, seafood platter, catfish etouffee, crab burger, and beignets and cheese cake for desert. The food was very well seasoned, though the batter was dark (which I typically I don't typically like), but theirs rocked. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were moderately generous. Above all, the staff were pleasant, friendly, and prompt about preparing our order. We will visit again when in town!

Fried food was dry and bland but they had ridiculous amounts of salt on the sausages. Service was poor and prices were high. The rice and beans and the turtle stew were pretty good, a little spicier would be better. I rubbed sausage bits in the beans spreading the flavor. I liked the jokes on the wall and the decor.

So, this was my first Louisiana Cajun experience. With that in mind and not that this is Cajun and not Creole; the food was pretty good. I sampled the fried pickles which is odd, but grows on you and better if you also have the local beer. I also sampled the fried shrimp which I'd order again and the gumbo which I assumed... Cajun style has a bit of a muddled look, but tasted okay. I think that I was expecting a bit more spice. Overall, not bad for a first. I found other places that I thought were better however.

This place had a great atmosphere! Very friendly staff, and gaston the alligator is awesome! The menu is very creative. There were some items I had never seen at a Cajun place. My wife had the crab stuffed catfish, it was really good. I had the lunch fried shrimp and shrimp creole. The shrimp was really good, the creole was average. This place is definitely worth a try.

This is the first Cajun restaurant i was taken to in LA. i wish it wasn't though. our group started with some appetizers....fried alligator and onion rings. the gator was heavily battered, so it was really difficult to distinguish the actual flavor, but i think it was a combination of chicken and fish. pretty good, but hard to tell. onion rings, well they were onion rings. next, the corn and crab bisque. pretty good, not out of this world. the gumbo, tasted as bad as it looked, thick brown with white rice. i don't know how anyone could make something soo bad. i ordered the craw-fish etouffee. it looked lied mud with boiled craw-fish and tasted pretty darn bad, not to mention it was cold. i had to ask the waitress to re-heat it. even then it was just as bad. the fried craw-fish was not too bad, and the craw-fish pasta was slightly better. the crab cakes were probably the best thing i tasted there. Service was friendly and good, but certainly did not make up for the awful food.

BEST CRAWFISH AROUND!!! I love this place. When ever I'm in town working you can bet you'll see me stuffing my face here. Lunch menu is great and dinner is even better...bigger portions of the same deliciousness. I ate more crawfish this season than I've eaten in my entire life combined, and this place was as good as I could find them. Great size, fair price, and seasoned perfectly. I ate there three nights in a row and just kept getting crawfish. There are other places that are good in town, but this is my spot. It should be yours too.

My first time in Houma, I had hopes of running into R.J. and Jay Paul from Swamp People, being it their hometown and all, I wasn't so lucky. Boudreau & Thibodeau, sits right on Hwy 20, not a place I would normally stop to eat, but glad we did -- It was good ::in my best Louisiana cajun accent:: Authentic eating here. My man being from Louisiana, he quickly ordered us up some local cuisine, which consisted of....Fried Frog Legs, Gator, and a few other things I would never knew people ate. Country living vs City living. My first time eating frog legs, and it was actually very good. Not exactly like chicken, but close. I wouldn't be opposed to eating some again. If you ever find your way to Houma, Louisiana, it's definitely worth a stop in. You never know, you might just get to meet R.J and Jay Paul.

The grilled oysters are great! The flavor is awesome and just the right amount of garlic and cheese. Gumbo is a good safe bet. Deep roux with plenty of seafood. The étouffée was good also, not as warm as I would cared for.

I have been routinely visiting this place for years. A place I used to rate 4-5 stars is now only 2. To start the appetizer portions have shrunk to almost nothing. The onion ring basket is a joke and there's a puddle of grease at the bottom of the basket. One of my kids ordered a bowl of gumbo that was as cold as a bowl of gumbo right out the fridge. Lastly the Boudreaux burger, I used to make the argument for the Boudreaux burger being the best burger in houma. Now I can easily name several places with a better burger. In summary, over the years the prices have gone up and the food quality and taste have gone down.

We tried almost everything and loved it! Frog legs, seafood and chicken gumbo, Boudreau's special, seafood platter, onion rings, crawfish kickers, and more. It was all delicious! The service was also great and the restaurant was pretty full. We traveled a ways to find good Cajun eating and were very happy we chose this place!

Thank you to Mercedes for her excellent, on point service. We were sat without delay at a very big table with plenty of space. None of our plates were close to overlapping either. Which meant there was room not only to do a little paperwork but also to see all the cajun jokes on the table mat (under glass; clean with no grease smears). Service is prompt. Out waitress served 1 sweet tea and 2 unsweet without mixing them up, and even made sure to refill when half full. The appetizer of crab dip, which is like spinach and artichoke but with crab, arrived instantaneously, so fast the even the server was surprised, but perfectly timed with share plates. My green salad with remoulade sauce was just like they say: a green salad with remoulade. A good little amuse bouche really. Because the meal just flew out. And the shrimp fettucinni pasta was spicy, warm, and creamy. Dessert was in house pecan bread pudding. All in all, great atmosphere, food and service. There is nothing different I would want to see in this restaurant.

The most delicious seafood resturant in Houma, hands down. Best seafood gumbo you could ask for. Awesome boiled seafood. One of my all time favorites.

Étouffée was decent. I had the one at Breaux Bridge. Somehow there is no difference...or I do not an exacting palette? Anyhow...portion was definitely on the meager side compared to the one in Breaux Bridge (Chicken on the Bayou and Boudin Shop). Although the eating area ambiance is good, nothing fancy. I also had their fried soft shell crab poboy...I am not sure why it came with no fries although the menu described otherwise? Maybe I misuderstand their menu. I think overall it could be better. Service can be better...the waitress was new, so they said. Will explore other restaurant if I visit again.

Great Cajun place to eat. If you're ever in Houma make sure you stop by this place. Sit a spell have some oysters, étouffée, crab dip or pretty much anything your heart desires. Becki, the manager, and so is the wait staff great!

  • Matt C.

Étouffée the way it should be! If you find yourself in Houma find yourself in here. Also had gator bites and boudin links...perfect. Friend had a ridiculously large po boy. Come hungry leave happy.

We were in the Houma area for work for a few months & we seen the awesome billboard for this restaurant we thought that looks like a Fun place. So we finally went there for lunch . It was much smaller inside than it looked . We didn't have to wait long for our table. We had dozen fresh oysters for appetizers they were delicious but we did have to ask for condiments crackers ,horseradish etc... My husband ordered fried fish & I had the blackened jumbo shrimp why they called them jumbo I have no idea. My salad was just just a plate of lettuce with 1/2 slice of tomatoe I really wouldn't have called it a salad . I will post a picture of my plate it really was not appealing I am a big believer presentation is everything. My husband had to ask three times for tartar sauce before our server brought it. This restaurant is geared to attract tourist & they are a bit pricey. We wanted to try it & we did. I have had much better food & service elsewhere here in Houma.

Welcome to cajun country! I love a place that has charm and comfort and southern hospitality and this place has all the above. There is nothing pretentious going on here. They have a nice variety of apps, entrees and desserts. Prices were reasonable especially the $1.99 side items. Things we enjoyed: Fried crayfish balls( cant rem the exact name) crab and spin dip, bacon cheeseburger, boiled shrimp Things we didnt: raw oysters( pretty sure they rinse them which rinses the salt away) onion rings were onion strings, sliced fried mushrooms looked like the crumbs at the bottom of fryer basket and the potato salad was sad. Even though we didnt love all of the food, the positives out weighed the negatives. Those are just my recommendations We enjoyed reading the framed cajun jokes while sitting in the rocking chairs and finishing our sweet tea before we left. My next visit, I want to take a picture with the 5ft smiling alligator by the door- just a reminder not to take life too seriously. Bon appetit

On vacation. Stopped in for dinner. Loved the fried pickles & onion rings! Grilled talapia was very good, as well. The homemade potato chips were so-so. Went on a Tuesday night & the place was packed! We waited 15 minutes for a table & this was at 6pm.

We're driving cross-country and stopped in Houma for a spell. Saw a billboard for this place and my husband said "let's do it". We figure, when in the south, do as the southern do. We've never had crawfish so that was our choice. We had the crawfish half n half which had fried crawfish and crawfish étouffée. We also ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo. Both were absolutely delicious and so worth it. Service was great and our waitress is really friendly and nice. The restaurant is clean and so were the bathrooms. Next to the bathrooms is a little hallway with 3 video poker machines too. So you can scratch your "put a dollar in, I won a car" itch. My husband just said the sign brought us in and it was damned good food. The place is full of locals and that's always a good sign. This restaurant was one of our best choices so far.

With limited options in Houma, we chose this place. Meh definitely not the best representation of Cajun food in LA. The crawfish étouffée was pretty gross - over cooked, too much flour and wayyy too salty! The boudin was also subpar. Others at the table said the beef PoBoys were ok, but that the bread wasn't good. Locals seemed to be ordered a shrimp scampi kind of dish and the classic boiled crawfish, so maybe those items are better. At least the service here was great. Side note: in LA, I have always gotten the best darn food at run down holes in the wall, often in the middle of nowhere!

Fun place to go and eat. Very touristy. The roasted oysters are a must have!!!!! I ate a fried oyster po-boy and it was very good. The prices are a little high however it is seafood and it is very fresh. I wouldn't eat here everyday if I lived here but great place to take visitors to the area. Give it a try.

Delicious food and friendly service. Had the fried oysters and a side of fried okra. Take time to read the Boudreau and Thiboudeau jokes! You won't regret it.

As we were driving back to Houston we were looking for an authentic Cajun place for lunch. We stumbled on this place and wow was it incredible! We had fried shrimp, shrimp étouffée, shrimp & crab cakes, gumbo, crab bisque and crab dip that was all outstanding. We come through here several times a year and we can't wait to come back. This will be a regular stop for us! Great food, nice staff and very clean. Bon Appetite!

Kitschy place that really sells the Cajun/Swamp People "thing". Had the seafood gumbo and was ok; the shrimp weren't fresh but it had good taste with enough Tabasco. Kids enjoyed the cheeseburgers and probably the best thing were the onion rings. I'm sure there are better places for Cajun cooking in the area but was ok for a quick stop...

Shrimp po boy, crabby burger, pot roast po boy, and chicken/sausage gumbo all excellent a long with the service. Glad we made the detour off hwy.

The turtle was not as good as expected I think the tomatoe sauce killed it but the Gumbo and customer service was outstanding.

Only thing I liked here was the gumbo and deserts. I'm a huge fan of gumbo. What's there not to like? rice, (yes I'm Asian -_-) meat, and roux. Every place I go that I see gumbo, I have to try it out and see if I can find a place that has the holy grail of gumbo. It's very good, but I wouldn't say the best I've had. Had the fried catfish here and it was typical fried catfish at most other places that serve it. Also had the chicken fried steak here one time and it was meh. The service here can be spotty at times too. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad. On the plus side, I love the desserts here. The Chocolate Explosion and the Turtle on the Half-Shell is a must try. The Chocolate Explosion is layers of creamy chocolate cake filled with chunks of delicious cheesecake. Very rich and decadent. The Turtle on the Half-Shell is oooohhh sooooo good also. It is a huge hot beignet topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate, caramel, and pecans. I don't like whipped cream so I usually request without it, but it doesn't detract from the flavors of this dessert masterpiece. This place does look kind of touristy with a huge alligator inside a cajun looking shack.

The etouffee was very good and loaded with mudbugs - mmmmmmm. The home made sausage was really good also. Fast friendly service. I love it when you get two or three: "Thank You" "Goodbye" and "Have a nice holiday" gestures on your way out.

Went on a Tuesday evening, service was great and plenty to waiting staff. Seafood gumbo was great, along with onion rings (lil to greasy) and red snapper was superb. Did not smell fishy at all. Beer was is cold as tiu can keep it before it freezes so thay was a plus too. I would deffinatly go back.

What a wonderful cajun experience! The service was great and treated me as family. My waitress even sat down and showed me how to peal and eat crawfish the good oll southern way, crunching and sucking the heads included. The food was spectacular and authentic. Awesome oysters, crawfish and bread-pudding! And the price was right! Thank you everyone at Boudreau & Thibodeau's for showing me what cajun eating is all about.

I don't like seafood so I had the blackened chicken and sweet potato fries. The chicken was good but the fries were awesome, I'm going back just for them.
