I've been to numerous Ryan's over the years and this one is among my least favorite. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is really old, worn out and pretty nasty looking carpet. The service is fine. The food is ok, nothing special. Some was good, some was not so good. The rolls have always been my favorite at Ryan's. The shrimp was far more breading than anything. I wouldn't bother serving the pizza that they offer on the buffet. I didn't try it but could tell what it would have tasted like. I like the make your own taco section but the soft shells where hard. The enchiladas were ok. They usually have pretty good deserts but the ice cream machine was broken. I'm just neutral on this one.

Make no mistake; this is a second-rate Hometown Buffet, literally. The food: bland and sub-par salt-bombs (except for the fried chicken, which was excellent). The cleanliness: nearly non-existent. The upkeep of the fixtures, furnishings, and serving tables: neglected and in need of maintenance. Sanitary conditions: questionable. Credit where credit's due: the staff was and is very friendly, and very accommodating. I don't recommend eating here if at all possible.

The dirty parking lot and dirty floors turned my stomach. This store needs to be shut down . Board of health needs to consider shut it down. Saw a needle disgared by the front door. Will not eat there ever again.

It's been about 6 or 7 months since I ate here, and was sorry I did! The interior was old and abused looking, but I was more interested in eating something, so not too concerned with the aesthetics, but the bar was so small with only a few different choices of items. There were flies inside and the food was absolutely rank and cold. I had to ask the server if I could get a steak cooked, since there wasn't anyone manning that area. Well, the janitor/cook came out and asked me what I wanted, so I followed him to the cooking area and thought he would cook it right away since it was only me. He told me he would let me know when it was done. It was under-cooked; not medium-rare. The plates were old and scared from 1990? Seriously, how much does it cost to replace plastic plates and utensils? I ate the chicken that was cold and overcooked, some can corn and part of the returned well-done (overcooked) steak. I left feeling sick, pissed and hungry. I wanted to curse out the woman for charging us $28 for a POS buffet that I couldn't enjoy, but I took the bigger route and just paid and tipped the waitress since she was nice and somewhat on point with the one water refill. I would never eat at this place again under this management, they need a complete overhaul and get rid of the whole staff there. Stay away from this place or otherwise be hugely disappointed and pissed off about the food and filthy conditions. You could get sick from eating here, seriously. Oh, I wanted to ask why this place is still operating under these conditions? Is the local board of health getting paid to not shut them down? I wonder. The unsanitize utensils and flies on the food should be enough, let alone the quality of the half-cooked food and gross selection at the buffet bar at this location. Trust me, it is that bad!

Nastiest restaurant in Hammond. We just paid over 40 bucks to get food poisoning or something definitely close to it. This place is a dump. We had to clean our own table off because it was filthy and sticky. Three ladies (?) on staff, although older, were extremely immature, laughing and making fun of customers (in front of us) and the manager seemed more interested in checking out the boys. I would have asked for our money back but I didn't want to stay and wait. We won't ever go back.

I have been disappointed here in the past but last week the food was pretty good for a buffet. I bet there is new cooks or mangers here now. I will probably try them again

Driving through on my way from california to florida. First impression was not great. The restrooms were pretty messy. But gave it a shot anyway. I was hungry! the food was really good, and the service was super friendly. Highly recommended. But warning, you WILL leave stuffed full!
