This is great place to eat for a quick lunch or dinner. The food is excellent and customer service is good. The restaurant interior does need some updating especially the bar. Overall this is a good place to grab a bite!

They must be having a bad day. 5 people behind counter talking and only one working register. 10 minutes to order with only one person ahead of us. Order was almost correct (hence the 2 stars), but had no tartar sauce for fish and forgot jalapeños on fries. Food is okay, but service leaves much to be desired. Behind the counter looks more like a summer teen hang out than service oriented business. I don't plan on returning unless I have to.

I love this place the food is awesome, but never go during lunch time or during dinner time because the place is packed. To me though it's worth the wait.

Very casual dining with large bar, TV screens throughout and a billiards room. Great for families and is a popular spot after local sporting events. This is one of our regular restaurants we visit and the food has always been good and consistent. The extensive menu and daily specials sometimes make for a tough decision. The ribeye club has been a long time favorite and the poboys are really good as well as the chicken salad sandwich and salads. The portions are generous and I've never left hungry. The staff has always been courteous and friendly. No waiter service: Walk up to order then seat yourself.

Ok for a quick meal. Great for kids or groups. Lots of variety on the menu. Lunch specials are good. Doesn't feel like the place is very clean.

I was driving around searching on GPS for a good seafood place to eat for lunch on a Sunday. I kept missing the ones that showed up but saw this place with a full parking lot before church was out. That's a good sign. I got Cajun Catfish with a cup of seafood gumbo. Everything was excellent. The seafood gumbo had fresh shrimp, crab and oyster pieces in the cup serving. Very tasty. The Cajun Catfish was topped with an original etoufee (home cooked) sauce. They have everything on the menu including great looking burgers, home cooked pizza, salads. Plenty of room, full bar. Don't miss it.

Oh BrewBacher's what have you done?!? Let me start by saying I've loved BrewBacher's ever since attending LSU in the 90's. Their po-boys have been the best around the Baton Rouge area!!! I've been several times to the Gonzales location and the food has been good each time....not excellent, but good. Well not sure if it is new employees, old employees being lazy, or a new supplier of food or lapse in food preparation and storage but something isn't right at BrewBacher's at all. It had been several months since visiting, so I ordered a roast beef po-boy...my favorite menu item. My wife ordered a hamburger and we shared a small order of cheese fries. There was nothing really edible that we ordered but we were hungry so ate it anyway...and besides, we paid for dinner and wasn't going to let it go to waste and spend money elsewhere. The roast beef po-boy was extremely overdressed with mayo and the roast beef was a weird greyish color almost like boiled meat gets. It was also extremely chewy and tasted like it was old....had been sitting and was reheated. There was nothing appetizing about my favorite menu item! The burger was decent...it was a burger. My wife was pleased that she could not taste the awful italian seasoning it usually was coated with in the past but there was no flavor to speak of at all really and the bun was slightly stale as it had begun to harden. The cheese fries...how can one mess up BrewBacher's cheese fries??? The potatoes were old and cold....greasy...had that old potato "green" taste to them and the cheese was over coagulated so much that you could not pull the cheese apart, you almost had to wiggle it back and forth and break it off and was a rubbery consistency. And we won't even go into the staff answering the phone and their lack of knowledge about the menu items and how they are prepared....overheard a conversation with a customer on the phone as I was ordering and the staff was trying to figure out the different temperatures of tuna...rare, med. rare, etc. and thought tuna only came one way there...cooked. Please improve your food and service.....hopefully it is a location issue and not a larger issue of the company as I truly love BrewBacher's and their food which is typically great!

Food is great but the restaurant itself is disgusting. Only one stall in women's bathroom bc the other one is missing a door. Paint missing everywhere. Tables are dirty. Walls are dirty. Not sure how they ever pass health inspection

Food was ok, great for Gonzales standards. Decor needs serious updating, feels like a little league team eats here. Love the menu on the wall and the microphone to call you up. Has that old school charm. Ordered the Cajun Catfish, fried catfish with étouffée. The catfish could have been seasoned better however the étouffée was great. Feel in love with the cheese fries, maybe the best I've had.

The grilled shrimp salad was drowned in dressing. The corn and crab soup has a red sauce?

Eaten here a couple of times before I ever got on Yelp. This was first time back in a number of years to this location or any location. They appear to be a successful local (Baton Rouge) franchise, after all this one is designated #6. Was planning to go somewhere else with my sister and niece on the recent Sunday but our first choice was closed. I feel Jason L.'s pain on trying to find a local establishment open on a Sunday!!! And Jason L. wrote his review back in 2009 so obviously things haven't changed much. To the restaurant, it's a no frills functional place to eat. Tables are roomy and the seatign is comfortable. They have a number of TVs scattered around and I LIKE the atmosphere. As to the menu it's HUGE!!! Covers everything from Pizza to Pasta to Salads to Sandwiches and Burgers. I went with the Roast Beef Poboy and the sister and niece went with salads. I think one was a Shrimp Salad and one was a Grilled Chicken Caesar. The Poboy I ordered was BIG and tasty and less than $8...I was happy with the sandwich and the price and what I got for the price (See review of D'Angelos for my thoughts on high priced sandwich that's lean on meat). We also ordered up some Fried Mushrooms which were GREAT!!! Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Delicious, coulda made a meal out of just those. Also ordered a side of Cheese and Jalapeno fries for the table and it wasn't a side but a platter!!! Beer selection seems a little thin but that's a Review Update for another day as I wasn't in a beer mood the day I was in. I'll be back and branch out on the menu and don't think I am going to be disappointed. It's definitely worth a stop in.

I've eaten at this Brew Bachers several times over the last few years. Each time I go there, I think, "Brew Bachers sounds like a great idea. It should be relatively quick, unpretentious, and reasonably priced. They have a big menu and their specialty is burgers, which sounds great." Is that what you think, too, before you head to Brew Bachers? Well then, like me, you'll probably leave disappointed. I've been to other Brew Bachers locations, and they get it mostly right. But this one consistently disappoints. First off, to call this place unpretentious is about the best thing you could say about the atmosphere. It's sort of spread out and spacious, and yet it always feels like a lousy place to spend time. It always feels vaguely dirty to me - maybe because the tables seem to be bussed infrequently. You're typically greeted at the counter by a dead-eyed teenage girl who you're clearly putting out by having the nerve to want to order. On my last visit, not a single nicety - no smile, no pleases or thank yous. The food is also not much of a value - burgers run in the $7-10 range, before any sides or drinks. Not unreasonable itself, but it's just not much value compared to other options that don't make you order at a counter or gather your own utensils and napkins... or have staff that feel at all welcoming. And here's the real problem. The burgers just aren't that great. They are undoubtedly better at the other locations. But at this one, they are consistently overcooked and dry, served with low-quality condiments like small tomato slices and weak shredded lettuce. There are literally a dozen or more places in Baton Rouge where you can find a vastly superior burger - from nicer restaurants to food trucks. On my last visit, I went in absolutely starving. And yet I barely made it into the second half of my burger. Not because it was so big, but because the overwhelming mediocrity of the food had literally sapped my desire to eat. Friends, that is saying something. And so I guess I wonder what Brew Bachers is hanging its hat on. The only thing I can figure is that Airline Highway through Gonzales is pretty much devoid of restaurants, unless you want fast food or Mexican. So maybe this place doesn't feel like it has to try too hard. It certainly shows.

The family ate here and it was a nice casual place and the food was decent, but too expensive for burgers, fries and a drink.

OK, it's Sunday in Louisiana, and when you are outside of the City of New Orleans ("that is the DEVIL'S playground, I tell you!"), unless you want to eat at McDonald's, you better pack a lunch! Normally, Lynn and I might rent a car, drive out in the beautiful Louisiana countryside . . . normally, we do this on a Saturday. For whatever reason ("The Devil made me do it!"), I attempted this feat of spectacular idiocy on a Sunday. Can I just say, we drove from New Orleans the 29.5 miles to LaPlace, confident in the thought that we would have ourselves some awesome Andouille sausage for lunch. La Place is, after all, the Andouille Capital of the World! Yeah, well, not on Sunday, it ain't. Everything this side of a multi-national, fast food drive-thru is locked up tighter than a drum. OK, so we check out Reserve, Louisiana, and then Lutcher -- where we DID find a market that sells hot food, po'boys and more but . . . Never On Sunday. Well, OK, that was 14 miles for nothing (save a bag of potato chips and a Dr. Pepper in a glass 8-ounce bottle). But at least the people there were kind enough to point us in the direction of Sorrento -- where there were some more national chains -- and from there, on to Gonzales, Louisiana, where we find Brew-Bachers . . . I mean, at this point, we'd driven 65+ miles trying to find a sandwich with some local character (versus a Big Mac) . . . Brew-Bacher's is the sort of place the girl's soccer team, or the high school boy's baseball team comes after practice or a game. Its spartan interior, single pool table, and couple of video games won't distract anyone from the four (five?) flat screen TVs with sports programming on. Sandwiches, pizza, lots of beers on tap and various spirits . . . I had an andouille po'boy; Lynn had an oyster po'boy; and we both had bottles of Abita Amber which, while good, is much better on tap, but Brew-Bacher's only has Budweiser on tap -- whatcha gonna do??? But the Saints were on TV, and they were winning. The crowd was happy . . . AND IT'S OPEN ON SUNDAY!!!

Very good place for a sandwich. Good plate lunches as well. Most rave about their burgers. I am not much a fan but I do not like thick burgers. The wife loves them though. I really like their French Dip and Rueban's. The onion rings and fried mushrooms are very good as well. Worth a stop. I have eaten at most of the locations in the Metro area and all have been decent.

I met with the hubby for lunch since this is close to his work. After a short five minute wait in line, we place our order: A BLT for me, a Blue Cheese burger for him, and onion fries to split. After another short five minute wait, our order is called, and we retrieve our food. (For those not familiar with BB, you place your order at the counter, pay, find your seat, pick up your food when called.) My BLT was LOADED with bacon and fresh tomato and lettuce, however, it was a little on the dry side, but still full of pork goodness flavor. My husband said his burger was pretty good. The onion rings were well breaded (some places don't bread enough!), though a little bland. If you're looking for a place in this area with decent food, this is a great place to pick. An order of two sandwiches, and order of onion rings we didn't finish, and two drinks costs us about $20, plus there are to go boxes at the condiment bar readily available for people who can't finish.
