Best BBQ in Louisiana, worth the drive. My husband and I drove from New Orleans looking for the best BBQ and we found it! I had a bbq sausage sandwich with french fries and jambalaya, he had the brisket with fried okra and potato salad. All of it was amazing! The potato salad was a little sweet for my taste but my husband loved it. There is a sink immediately upon entering the kitchen that I have seen EVERY employee that enters wash their hands. Cleanliness always scores points with me, add great food and this is the perfect restaurant.

I will first say that the food isn't bad here. I am giving it one star because I was offended by the prominent display of the "Stars and Bars" throughout the restaurant. I have eaten there several times before, but my most recent return, I noticed a bumper sticker over the kitchen door with the Rebel Flag on it stating "The more people from the North I meet, the more I wonder how the South lost". Then I noticed another. Then I noticed several license plates with it as well. I was honestly offended, and stated such to the nice girl taking my order. I simply cannot support a restaurant that wants to prominently display a prefernece for a time when blacks were enslaved. I think it is way past time for this type of display of intollerance.

Excellent BBQ joint. We loved everything, phenomenal brisket, the Mac n cheese is creamy and amazing. Great buns and delicious sauce for the win!!! On our way back to Texas we wanted BBQ, this place was well worth the tiny detour off I-10. :) nom nom

It's under new ownership from what I understand. I've been there for lunch these last few weeks and the food is great!! The pulled pork is the best!

Felt a little like Pee-Wee Herman trying to use the phone at that biker bar except this is Covington. I enjoyed a plate of beef brisket and sides of slaw and mac n' cheese with a draft root beer. The service was great, the price was right, and the food teetered on good to very good if a little bland. But again, this is Covington. For Covington I'd give it 4 stars but for me it's 3.

Great BBQ and friendly service; will definitely go back. The catfish on Friday night was outstanding - best I have eaten in awhile. Try the chocolate chip pecan pie after dinner. Not overwhelmingly sweet like most pecan pies. This pie is perfect.

I was driving through and was looking for a bbq sandwich. I saw this little place and decided to try it. I had the pulled pork sandwich with jambalaya and corn on the cob. Everything was very flavorful, however the pulled pork and jambalaya were slightly on the dry side. It was good though. I came in the middle afternoon so that probably had something to do with it. The service was friendly and prompt. I would come back.

Ordered dinner to go from here last night & it was *on point*. The ribs were perfect, and the BBQ beans are probably the best I've ever had. Exceptionally good BBQ for being such a small place.

Sweet Daddy's may be the best BBQ on the Northshore. I only wish they kept the Mandeville location open because the Covington one is a little too far for me to become a regular. It was almost a week after Hurricane Isaac and I was craving some good BBQ. I had all but forgotten about Sweet daddy's ever since it closed in Mandeville a few years ago. Upon discovering that Abita BBQ was closed due to storm damage, I set out to find another BBQ restaurant. Upon remembering the Covington location was still open, I sped north to place my order. Inside I was greeted by very friendly staff. I was unsure of the best way to order a large quantity without breaking the bank, but they steered me in the right direction. They had several combos, but in my case, ordering individual items worked out better. My order was ready very quickly so I grabbed it and headed home. My order consisted of brisket, pulled pork, mac n cheese, potato salad, corn nuggets and baked beans. The sliced brisket was slightly smokey and perfect for sandwiches. It came without sauce which is how I prefer my brisket. I can then add the amount of sauce I feel necessary. The pulled pork came pre-mixed with sauce and was good, but I preferred the brisket. I think it would have been better if it too came without sauce, but it was still one of the better versions I have had on the Northshore. The sides were all good, but the corn nuggets are always a treat. There is something special about fried creamed corn and I have been unable to find it anywhere but Sweet Daddy's. If you're on the Northshore and want good BBQ, give Sweet Daddy's a try.

I didn't actually come here but just finished eating a bunch of food from this place. My boyfriend bought a half-price Groupon deal and picked it up after work. He said they were "nice, friendly and it smelled really good in there." The Groupon was for 2 lbs of meat and 4 medium sides. We got a pound of brisket, a pound of pulled pork, macaroni & cheese, corn nugget thingies, and 2 sides of fried okra. That's right. DOUBLE okra. It was all delicious. The dog kept looking at us with envy. The meats were really good, sauce on the side. I had been wanting BBQ for a while and this is just what I needed to kill the demons. Im actually LOLing at the review where the guy told the girl working the counter that he was offended by the rebel flag on the wall. Please.

All day, everyday! Great BBQ for a great price. Haven't been disappointed in sweet daddy's once. If you go, you have to side your combo with the Mac and cheese. "Out of bounds!"

Well-seasoned and tender full rack of ribs. Just like the ones in my chest cavity. I prefer my ribs stickier and wetter out of the oven (and in my chest cavity) but these tasted pretty good, and there was a fair amount of them. I hate when places short you on ribs. This place did not do that. To the contrary, there were a great many ribs in my order. Staff was friendly, but I don't know that I would call them "sweet".

Read about Bear's in Garden and Guns so Saturday I drove from BTR to Covington to get a roast beef sandwich which I got and on the way there just a few blocks away I saw this sign for Sweet Daddy's soooooo I stopped and got 1/2 rack ribs to go. 1st ribs I've enjoyed in a long time without sauce. They weren't the best looking ribs but they were the best tasting ribs I've had in a long time. I haven't found the best ribs yet, but Sweet Daddy's rank with some of the "more better",

The staff is nice here and attentive. However, it may have been the time of day (5:00pm) but our food was really bad. The ribs were so dry they were cracking apart, the chopped brisket was drowned in barbecue sauce to disguise the taste, the green beans were really really bad, and the sliced brisket was very chewy and had a cigarette ashy aftertaste. The baked beans and potato salad was honestly the only thing on our plate that was good. Even the tea tasted bad. We have eaten there in the past and it was really good.... Today was a drastic change for the worst.... 19.99 for a 3 meat, 17.99 for a 2 meat, and 4.00 for drinks. Had to post something regarding this.... Hopefully it was just an off day!
