I went to Gallagher's once. It was a Saturday night & the parking was horrible, had to park across the street. I was hoping this was an indication of how good it would be. The inside was very small/quaint and noisy, but it was decorated nicely & tables were set with white tablecloths. I ordered the grilled shrimp which was approx $18 or so for SIX shrimp, no side dish. I wasn't impressed. My date ordered the grilled stuffed chicken & asparagus, he put some on a small plate for me to try. The chicken was very good & the asparagus was as well...but nothing exceptional. If I ever go back to Gallagher's, I'd probably try the filet mingon. The people at the table next to us ordered steaks & they looked great (we were jealous!). Overall it was an ok experience...a little pricey.

My overall experience was delicious. The only downfall was there hostess Hayley. She was very rude and didn't seem like she wanted to even work there. You would want your customers to feel good right when you walk through the door. She made it uncomfortable and pointed to our seat and didn't say anything to us. MAYBE say, "Your waiter will be right with you." She said Nada. But when our waiter came to us he made our experience great. The young man that did the refills kept my husband's water full... which is a big deal to him! Now to the food... They need a new recipe for the bread. Very dry. Bacon wrapped Scallops... YES! Just simply amazing. My husband's sizzling buttered Rib Eye was just perfect. Now... the bread pudding. TADA!! Grand Slam. Finished the night with a bang. We will come back again... hopefully the hostess changes her attitude or they just need to get somebody else.

One of Covington's best restaurants! Consistently delicious, top notch operation! Steaks are amazing, and so is everything else on the menu! When soft shelled crabs are in season, do not miss this dish! It's awesome! Crab cakes, oysters pablo, shrimp remoulade are all good starters. Fish dishes are great too. Good wine list, waiters are all very good and helpful, and the cocktails are great. Try the white chocolate bread pudding for dessert! Thank you Pat Gallagher for this local "gem" of ours!

Wow! Gallagher's Grill far exceeded my expectations. I am always on the lookout for restaurants that I haven't tried yet. Having heard about Gallagher's on the radio, and in print media, I decided it was time to give it a try. I arrived a little early for my reservation and the place was packed. Since my table wasn't quite ready, I headed for the bar. I will admit that I was expecting a much fancier looking place, but it had a sort of old New Orleans feel which I am quite fond of. Once the table was ready the real magic began. Gallagher's menu is pretty typical of a high end steakhouse. For appetizers we began with Oysters en Brochette and Crabmeat Ravigote. Both were incredibly good. The oysters were so perfectly cooked that we nearly ordered a second batch. Considering how much food we had already ordered, I am glad we resisted that urge. For my entrée I decided on the prime cowboy ribeye. It was, without a doubt, one of the top ten steaks I have ever consumed in my life. I don't say that lightly as I love all things steak, but it was truly incredible. It was a perfect medium rare and served New Orleans style with sizzling butter. Service was excellent. Everyone from the hostess to the owner was accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. I really liked that the owner/chef was walking around to ensure everyone's entrée was up to snuff. I really like this place and think you will too. It isn't as fancy as Dakota or La Provence, but I think it is one of the best restaurants on the northshore.

The food is amazing. Went here for a birthday celebration and was not disappointed by the food. Delicious. I would rate this five stars if my experience wasn't ruined by the service. When asked the recommendation of how to have a meat prepared, the waiter simply pointed at the menu options for meat preparation options and then stared back at me. No thanks. Haven't gone back since.

We ate here with some friends and family on a Saturday night. The parking lot was full and the side street didn't have an empty spot. We parked across the street and took our lives in hand crossing the busy highway. However, once inside the evening changed for the better. We had reservations but they were full and running late. Eventually, we were seated. My wife and I ordered a bottle of wine and looked over the menu. The decisions were pretty easy. We both started off with the house salad and one of their homemade dressings. The main course both of us was a sizzling 11 ounce filet with sides of roasted garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach with artichoke hearts. The meal was delicious. I normally don't have dessert but let the waiter talk me into their white chocolate bread pudding. Fantastic! And I not a big fan of bread pudding. What started off as a questionable evening turned into a fine dining event. The wait staff was great. If I have to eat across the lake, I've discovered this is a good choice.

You get what you pay for here and this place doesn't disappoint. The gumbo was the best I've had so far in the Cov/Man area. Crab cake is tied together with an outstanding Panko crust, Oyster Poboy was adequate, and lobster was hot and sweet.

We stopped here on a whim and we were in for a treat. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I had stuffed chicken and my husband had blackened redfish and both were cooked perfectly. The bread pudding was like no other bread pudding I've ever had. Excellent from start to finish.

What can you say about Gallagher's that hasn't already been said? It was phenomenal from start to finish. The hostess was attractive, friendly, and accomodating, the server was on point from the initial greet, and the food and wine were excellent. Our order included the appetizer special bacon wrapped scallops served on a bed of artichokes and spinach. It was fantastic. We had a steak, including a bone-in ribeye, bone-in filet, and a petite filet. All were cooked to order, and the quality of the meat was the best on the northshore. The sides included the garlic mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. I would recommend Gallagher's to anyone not on a budget. With Gallagher's however, you get what you pay for and you do not feel cheated when you leave! This meal was top notch!

Interesting. I posted a bad review about a month ago and it has disappeared. Guess that's what I get for being honest and in no way insulting. Either Yelp or Gallaghers made sure their image remains mostly positive. How about this instead? Make better food and let that bring in customers!

My husband, our two children and I had a wonderful experience here. We made early dinner reservations for a busy Saturday night. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. We had the bacon wrapped scallop appetizer. There were three scallops with spinach and artichoke and a citrus buerre blanc sauce. The sauce really made it all taste fantastic. I ordered the broiled catfish pecan meuniere and again, the sauce was great. My daughter had the filet and my husband had the NY strip. Both came sizzling on the plate and were cooked perfectly. My son had the bone-in veal chop which had sauce. He said it was delicious. We also ordered corn maque choux to split which was very tasty. For dessert we all split the white chocolate bread pudding. We asked for extra sauce. We devoured it! It was so good. The service was great. We needed several drink refills throughout the meal and all were refilled very promptly without us asking. The restaurant was full and the food seemed to be coming out quickly. All of us enjoyed everything we had. We can't wait to go back to Gallagher's!

The food was wonderful, my fiancée and I both had steaks that were fantastic. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The only thing I didn't like was having to modify some dishes to not have seafood since I'm allergic. Although they did accommodate my special need, I wish they had a few more items in appetizers, etc... That were for non-seafood eaters. It is pretty pricey but worth every penny!!!

My dad and I were celebrating our March birthdays and thought this would be a great place to relax and enjoy some good food especially based on the past stellar yelp reviews. The atmosphere was a little more formal than expected(quiet dining room with white table cloths and set tables) We decided to sit in the bar area as it had a more casual feel. The chef, Pat Gallagher, introduced himself as he got up from his break and headed to the kitchen. The food was very good especially the oysters brochette. The menu selections is what sealed the deal for our reservation because everything looked so appealing. The service was top notch also. He surprised us with a chocolate dessert since I mentioned it was our birthdays which added the perfect ending to our meal. There is a nice bar tucked away in the back of the restaurant perfect for a more casual dining experience overlooking a beautiful bamboo garden and patio. Overall, we had a great dinner and would suggest Gallagher's for any special occasion.

Perfectly cooked rare Filet was extremely hot on the outside and perfectly cool and tender in the middle Brussel sprouts were ok, slightly undercooked but the steak more than made up for that. Great service from Sam, very helpful and courteous

Shrimp remoulade was good. Macaroni and cheese was just pasta and cheese. Crab au gratin was cheesy but had nice large pieces of crab meat. The fish de jour had an excellent sauce but was a very small portion. Overall, I left not feeling heavy, which is quite an accomplishment, but half of the meal was kind of plain. Also, waiter was kind of austere, but owner/ chef was cool. I was set back $120. It is a great place for folks who want good food, but don't want to journey to Irene's or Antoine's in the city. If you don't mind the drive, I suggest taking it.
