Best baked potato I've had in a long time! Loaded with butter, sour cream, chives, bacon bits, clogged arteries and topped with either chicken, pork or beef. All the meat is BBQed out back. If ever I'm to comeback here, I'll definitely be bringing a friend!

We stopped at Outlaw's BBQ on our way through Alexandria looking for something better than fast food, but with still speedy service. We noticed that they had a drive thru option, so we figured we would be able to get in and out in good time. They use counter service, but the staff was really helpful. I had the chopped baker with pulled pork and it was awesome. I loved their sweet bbq sauce on it. My friend had the ribs, green beans and fried okra. The ribs had a dry rub on them, and he found them to be just ok. He did say that the green beans were really good.

While it's not the best barbecue I've ever had, it was awfully darned good! I had the chopped baker with pork, and my co-worker had the chopped beef platter with smothered potatoes and dirty rice. I was happy with the smoky taste of the pork, and there were only a couple of small pieces of fat in the mix. Come on people, it's pig. there's going to be fat, so I wasn't bothered. By the rate my co-worker went through his beef and sides, I'm guessing they were more than just acceptable! Overall, if I were in town again, I would go again with no hesitation! Friendly staff, good portions, very clean and comfortable.

Well, on my return trip, the BBQ sauce, which seemed to be my point of criticism regarding Outlaw's, was much better, and they had several flavors--sweet, spicy, and original. I am not sure if this is a new change or if the different sauces eluded me when I went last December, but it is a step in the right direction. I am a sucker for local businesses, and Outlaw's doesn't disappoint. I'll gladly and enthusiastically return when passing thru Alexandria.

Not impressed. I had the combo with chopped pork and ribs. You get your choice of two sides, so I had smothered potatoes and coleslaw. You can help yourself to sliced bread (white or wheat) and margarine at the condiment stand. The chopped pork was tasty, but the portion they served me was mostly fat. Now don't get me wrong, I like a little fat mixed in with my meat, but not a whole serving of it. The ribs weren't anything special. Both sides were too small. The girl at the counter who took my order was distracted by something else going on with another customer, so I had to stand directly in front of her for awhile before she decided to acknowledge my presence.

If you're not from a BBQ state, please do not comment. This place is better than previously stated. Good food. Not great but good.

Ribs are pretty good, but the pulled pork was very dry. The girls working there are very nice. I would eat the ribs again Sauce is good.

Love the chop baker! I always add their BBQ sauce to it and skip the butter. It's the only thing I ever order.

If you're a BBQ connoisseur, this place is not that great. Sauce required. If you're a local and it's all you've got, knock yourself out.

Outlaw's is our fave BBQ when visiting Alexandria. Never disappoints (well, they were out of the Sweet BBQ Sauce this time, so we had to make do with their Original, or the Spicey :-) Meats are excellent, sides good & plentiful. We ALWAYS eat here at least once when attending BOTT (sometimes twice). Great place, very friendly!!

This is a solid 3.5. I'm a BBQ snob. This place was very solid. Not great, but definitely I place I'll return if I want BBQ in Alex. This place needs to be viewed in context. It's surrounded by fast food in all directions. Would I choose it above my other choices? Every. Single. Time.

Does not satisfy the southern BBQ hunger... in context it may be a better option then others on this strip... but I'll be trying somewhere different next time. Friendly staff and decent rib rub - but the compliments stop there :/ Ribs were cooked poorly. Beef was so dried out. Sausage was in exciting and salty. Sides were a bit stale - but the beans were pretty good! Just an all around weak effort. At $17 for a relatively small three meat plate... there's much to be desired.

It was hit and miss. The brisket was very tough considering how thin it was cut. The 1/2 chicken was was juicy with a mild smoke flavor. Potato salad was very good, but the coleslaw was just okay. The pecan pie was good if you like it really sweet. Staff was nice, but the guy at the counter didn't know if they had beef or pork ribs.

Chopped pork is very good. The spicy in the original sauce go very well with all their meats . The link sausage was better than expected. Overall the restaurant was very clean and friendly. The only drawback was the coleslaw took bland to a whole new level.

Outlaw looks like a place you would eat BBQ out. The best part of the meal was the sauce. There are 3 kinds which are all ketchup based and all taste different bit seems to be similar. There was original, sweet, and spicy. All of them were very good. The ribs were also very good too...very meaty and had a good grilled taste to them. Potato salad wasn't bad either. Service was wonderful and prices were reasonable. Now for the not-so-good part. The pork tasted good but had a lot of fat in it. The beef was dry and just wasn't very good. The beans tasted like Bush beans with a little something extra. Sweet tea is by Community and to me, Community tea just has a flavor that isn't as good as other brands. It tastes like it has sugar substitute in it than real sugar. There are lots of choices on the menu but what I had, overall, was ok at best. The sauces are really good and I enjoyed the ribs. Everything else...not so much.

Don't let the building turn you away, it's not quite the looker outside; and inside it is a bit dark and has that old wood floor that you just don't quite get traction on. The food however is FANTASTIC. You walk by a window and can see the smokers before you order, so you know it's authentic and none of that liquid flavor stuff. Their menu is extensive, offering many varieties of beef, pork, chicken and sausage plates. We always get the chopped baker, which is this amazing baked potato (baked so well you eat the skin without realizing it) topped with butter and cheese and sour cream and chives and your choice of meat. They also have a condiment bar so you can add bbq sauce if you want or jalapeños or banana peppers. And now I'm hungry and can't wait to go back!

Outlaws has yumminess and terrific deals all under the same roof. Keep your eyes out for coupons in your mailbox, and they have some online too. We stumbled on this terrific, casual restaurant and have returned multiple times since. We have tried the bakers (stuffed baked potato with meat, cheese, etc...)--and enjoyed them! The Philly sandwich was very good. I thought the smothered potatoes were sortof--meh... Other sides were good. Pecan pie was yummy. There's a childrens' menu, family packs to go, salads, burgers, pulled pork, etc... Free WiFi available! I managed to find a seat with an outlet, so that was awesome. There's plenty of seating. The atmosphere is casual, and appropriate with a kindof Southern-bbq house-neon beer sign milieu. There are tvs with sports programming, but you can't hear it over environmental sound (people talking). The mood is upbeat, with everyone seeming to enjoy themselves. They have a pretty impressive lunch crowd. Appropriate dress is casual, unless you go through the drive through, then I suppose pajamas are fine. T-shirts are available for purchase. Employees are friendly and helpful.

Not terrible but not particularly good either. Probably the driest brisket I've had in ages. The 2-3 star average rating for Outlaw is right on. Definitely nothing that stands out. Bill Miller's or Rudy's would put these guys out of business pretty quickly if those options existed here, even Voodoo would be a vast improvement.

Hands down my favorite BBQ ribs on the planet! This southern girl has tried every rib on Maui but none can compare to my Outlaws BBQ. My first stop leaving AEX is to Outlaws for a rack of ribs, heaping pints of beans and potato salad with extra extra bbq sauce.

First timers. We ordered the Philly and the beef & pork combo. Sides of potato salad, coleslaw and bar-b-que beans. We both preferred the pork over the beef. I liked both their sweet and their spicy sauce. We also preferred the beans over the other sides. This place isn't bad. I've had better in TX, but I wouldn't mind coming back here when I'm in Alexandria. We also ordered the plain cheesecake for dessert. Not bad. The service was good. The girl that took our order was very nice. The lady that was cleaning up the tables seemed really friendly and always smiled.

Our first time here. I had the philly poboy and it was delish! Great flavor! My husband had the Memphis style pork sandwich and he enjoyed it. He said the beans were good too. We will be back when we are in the area again!!

My husband and I both had the Memphis style poboy. Very dry! Too much smokey flavor. Not enough sauce. The bread was even too tough to eat. Just all around not good. I've tried this place a couple times. I eat BBQ all over the US and I really think they don't even know what good BBQ is:(

This is the best BBQ in the small town area of Alexandria. The Memphis pulled pork sandwich is very tender, moist and packed with flavor. They have a wide range of sides offered. The restaurant is very large, but doesn't have waiter service. I particularly liked the cornbread here.

Ordered the ribs with Cajun rice and potato salad. Ribs were awful. Didn't fall off the bone at all. Do not go here if you want good ribs. The dry rub was pretty good on them though, just horribly cooked. They were like trying to bite into rubber. I came towards the end of the lunch rush and they were out of the spicy bbq sauce and sweet tea. The unsweetened tea was good and probably a lot healthier for me. The original bbq sauce was great. The potato salad was mustard based and very good. The Cajun rice was good as well. Also they need a sign that says "order here" where you have to order. It's set up like a school cafeteria. I debated giving three stars but the ribs were cooked so bad that I couldn't.

I am obsessed with the SHERIFF'S COMBO (juicy burger with one side order & drink). Literally the best burger for a reasonable price ($6.99+tax). The burger is almost identical to the juicy burgers from Five Guys Burgers & Fries.

Well, the negative reviews coming from Seattle and West Virginia are not accurate. Outlaws is an incredible institution. Their chopped beef sandwich, sauce, chop baker (the most delicious baked potato in the world) are staples of my childhood. They also have some of the best onion rings around. I always stop at Outlaws when I'm home and get a few chopped beef sammiches before I leave. They have a very convenient drive thru as well. After Westside BBQ closed, this is the last good place for BBQ in Cenla

Ribs were tough and fatty. Baked beans and slaw were pretty good. I wouldn't go back.

My review is pretty accurate. Not a good BBQ joint in my opinion. Lived all over the US and tried numerous BBQ joints and this is one I would not go to again. Stick with my opinion. Can't get it right after 3 trips, not worth going back....
