Donut Express

Donuts are a very personal thing. You see, I don't buy into the Krispy Kreme hype. I cringe when I see someone cover a mediocre dough with crazy toppings and fillings just to slap the name "artisan" on it. Sometimes less truly is more and this is certainly case at Donut Express. They don't do anything fancy, but what they do they do well. I've sampled a myriad their offerings and have always been satisfied. The donuts are perfectly fried - not too light, not to dense. The icing on select varieties is delicious yet doesn't overpower the dough. These are simple donuts done right. Donut Express is a definite bang for your buck. Three delicious donuts and a coffee for less than four bucks? Yessir. As much as the doctor and dentist don't want to hear this - I'll be a regular.

Great buffet. Plenty of pizzas to choose from. Salad and pasta bar stocked well too. Several dessert pizza options to choose from. Friendly staff. Nice place to eat with plenty of seats and tv's to watch. My personal favorite Mr. Gattis since the early 90's. Consistently a good value, selection, clean, and friendly.

Cedar Grove Coffee House

I wish this place was closer to my house in northern Bullitt county. Like a highlands coffee house, but clean! Very friendly staff and a great mocha.
While driving from Louisville to Bowling Green on 65-S, I saw billboards for a quilt shop off exit 116. I exited to see the quilts, and saw the "Hot Fresh Coffee" banner out front of the same shopping strip. Cedar Grove Coffee House is lovely, what a coffee shop should be: calm and cool, plenty of tables and comfy chairs, the all-essential outlets and free wifi... and a full coffee menu including chili, baked treats and packaged snacks. The lovely owner served me a delicious shot of espresso- hit the spot. Local art all over the walls and the *terrific* playlist have made this place my new favorite stop between the two cities. Bonus: the big ol flea market is across the highway. get your crowd-crazy fix then unwind at Cedar Grove. :)
The shop is very nice but the coffee is even better. I was on a business trip to the area and being from Seattle I'm very used to having coffee shops everywhere. I would say that the latte was far better than most lattes in Seattle. The atmosphere was really comfortable and when I stopped by in the evening they had live music.

I stopped in to have breakfast before getting back on the road during my drive back to NY. I was greeted by the crew when I walked in. I had never eaten in a Waffle House before, I mentioned this to my waitress and she gave me several suggestions for what to order. I ended up with a regular waffle, bacon and hash browns with onions. It was pretty good. The ladies were all so nice. I'm glad I stopped here.

I love waffle house! it's cheap, and it's good food. I always order breakfast there never lunch or dinner. my fave is the biscuits with gravy. just make sure u know how u want your eggs compared to how they cook it cuz 'over easy' means it's still clucking when it gets to your table...
This is, by far, the BEST waffle house I have visited in that several years. The food was hot, fast, and served with a smile. I could NOT believe the speed at which these folks were cranking out orders ... and ALL were right! I love Waffle House anyway - I get consistently good food. But this WH - Just outshines the rest! A wonderful WH!! Not enough stars available. 'Nuff said
Had lunch here today upon arriving on Louisville. The food was great and the waitress was super friendly. I'll be staying here a couple weeks I'm sure to be visiting again!

The better of the area Mexican options. Friendly staff. Good food. Decent salsa. No complaints. I had the Burrito Carne Asada and enjoyed it thoroughly. When I am back in Town again I will definitely be back for dinner.
My boyfriend and I ate here tonight! It was yummy! The staff was excellent! Everything was fresh and hot!!We will be going back!
The stars that this place earned from me were for good service and cleanliness. This was the worst food I have had in awhile. The food had no flavor at all. We ordered two margaritas and they had no affect on either of us. For close to 40 dollar bill for two people (2 Margaritas and 2 meals), I would suggest taking your money somewhere else.

El Nopal

I rate my restaurant experience on five things: Atmosphere Service Food Price Wow - atmosphere - We sat outside on the patio area. It was pretty nice, a block wall surrounded you to about chest height, so when your sitting down you can't really see all the busyness around town. I do wish that there was some music playing or something outside. - service - Service was not good. Yes, they were busy, but we sat down at our table and received our drinks then waited for 30 minutes for someone to come take our order. It became a running joke to drink your water slowly because you never knew when they would come check up on us. - food - Was good I ordered the steak fajita nachos with green peppers and onions and a side of guacamole. The guac was really good, tasted nice and fresh. The nachos were good too, nice big portion, lots of queso. - price - I thought prices were very reasonable. The nachos were ~$11 and the side of guac was $4. My wife ate too and after hers I think we paid ~$25 for everything. - wow - There was nothing at this place that wowed me. It is your typical Mexican restaurant. - conclusion - Three stars. There is nothing special about this place. Even though the service was slow, the atmosphere and food were enjoyable and we didn't have to pay too much for a good night with good friends.
I usually love El Nopal but this is absolutely one of their worst. Food tasted bad, creepy atmosphere, and had a stomach ache after. Thought it was just me but my party of 4 said exact same thing after.
What a gem! We stayed at the super 8 right across the street. Asked for recommendations from the front desk clerk for somewhere nice and she recommended Big Boy (rolls eyes). We went out and ventured on our own and found el nopal. Great service, good margaritas and good food.
