Excellent!!! Have been searching for a good place to eat in Russleville, and this it it!!!! Got squash ravioli, amazing. The Alfredo sauce is divine. The only complaint is my soup was very lukewarm when it arrived, although the flavor was delicious
This is a quaint Little place right on the town square. We were there this morning for Saturday brunch at about 10:45 and were the only folks in the place. The waitress brought the Brunch menu and and had a short pleasant conversation with us and moments later the chef (Josh) introduced himself and shared his new bistro menu. For Brunch we shared Asparagus and Goat Cheese Soufflé & a Roasted Red Pepper, Corn and Asparagus Frittata which both were Outstanding. The Small Bistro Is on street level and is nicely furnished. The upstairs is a tastefully decorated full service restaurant. The wait staff was knowledgeable of the chefs specials and very courteous. Overall, the experience was a very nice surprise to be found in the middle of downtown rural Russelville and to be honest I am already plotting my excuse for our next trip up, and it will be for dinner.
Fantastic find. Crab cake & potato pancake appetizer and hot apple pecan salad were the best we have had. Toured the kitchen which was immaculate. Atmosphere relaxed, service excellent and people friendly. Will return at all opportunities. Worth a side trip if you are even in the vicinity.

A normal Arby's, "good mood food"... However, what makes a restaurant more than a restaurant (in this case Arby's); the people, GREAT service!!! Well worth your time....

Authentic and excellent as Bar-B-Q can be. Our ribs and pulled pork were excellent. The waitress was a joy...very homey, chatty and fun to be around. We had a great time in a small, mostly takeout, restaurant during a relatively quiet time. Truly a memorable experience.

Have been eating at Roy's for years and years and years. I am from Louisville, but my family is from Russellville. It's standard for us, when we visit my family, to take some Roy's home. The pulled pork is phenomenal. I really wish I knew exactly what they did to the pork to give it the flavor that it has. It's clearly marinated in something. What is the secret? But it gives it such a terrific flavor, that you can eat the pork all by itself, and it will be a fantastic meal. And the reason why this is so special is because pulled pork is usually a "meh" item at a BBQ restaurant. Pulled pork is almost always the same, for the most part, regardless of what BBQ restaurant you go to. Roy's really is special because it is so different. Furthermore, Roy's hot BBQ sauce is good enough to be bottled and sold. It's ridiculously good. Clearly a ketchup based sauce. The girl wouldn't tell me what is in it. She said that the owner makes it. Why they don't bottle it and sell it, I'll never know. I'm a BBQ snob. I've been to BBQ restaurants around this nation, and I am a harsh critic of this cuisine. I've been to Central in Memphis, Rendezvous in Memphis, Dreamland in Tuscaloosa, Arthur Bryant's in Kansas City, to name a few. Roy's pulled pork is better than anywhere I've ever eaten, and Roy's hot BBQ sauce is *probably* the second best sauce I've ever had, behind Dreamland BBQ in Tuscaloosa. Now, it's also worth noting - the rest of the items on the menu are very average to not very good. I don't think that Roy's is, honestly, that good of a restaurant. The beef and the sides are very average. If you go to Roy's, get the pulled pork with the hot BBQ sauce. That's what makes Roy's so good, and that's why they get 4*. If it weren't for these two items, then I'd have to give them a 2* for everything else. Please note: It is better to get the pulled pork "cold" and to-go. Heat it up yourself at home. Also note: They have another location on Franklin Street. Very small place, only two tables. So it is mostly for to-go orders. Marginal restaurant overall, but the pulled pork and hot BBQ sauce is as good as anywhere in the nation. Worth driving to get.
**Keep in mind I'm hard to please when it comes to real bbq** If you're expecting authentic smoked BBQ ribs with a smoke ring, this isn't the place. It seemed they boiled the ribs in a pot and put them on the grill for a bit. Fried okra and potatoe salad was good but the baked beans were below average. Now to the bad part. The service was not good. In my opinion you have to come to the table more than one time. Especially when your're not busy. Sorry guys but next time I'll bypass this joint.
So I was working on up on the cell tower up the hill. Spotted this place from 200 ft in the air and was excited to finish the work to get some lunch and experience some KY BBQ. Here's all I have to say about that - Service is poor, the server was very unprofessional and noticed she dropped a napkin roll with silverware on the floor and proceeded to carry it over to a table adjacent to ours. One thing that stood out was the fact their menu contained way too many non/BBQ items to be considered a smokehouse. The brisket I received was horrendous, drenched in some awful BBQ flavored sauce, really chewy, and smelled like a manwich sandwich. Come to think of it, I don't really think they were using the smoker out back for anything besides an attention getter. Sweet tea was not fresh, not even close! I know this isnt what BBQ is about. Let me say this about myself. I know good BBQ. I've literally traveled all over the South and have dined at some of the most famous restaurants from Florida to Texas and Missouri to the Carolinas. The previous reviews I'm sure were accurate two years ago when they posted but this is all changed and as of summer 2013 it was really sad.

Service is HORRIBLE! Workers don't want to do their job, food is always cold or made wrong. Managers don't want to help and are rude. I went in for an ice cream cone, ordered and proceeded to wait 30 minutes. Went up and asked if my ice cream cone would be ready anytime soon, lady told me yes, in a few minutes. Waited 15 more minutes and then had one of the managers call me up and tell me the ice cream machine had been down all day so I couldn't have my ice cream cone, but he could give me a cookie or pie instead. I said no thanks, I'll just take a refund. He then told me he would rather not give me a refund, so I could have a small shake and not worry about paying the extra. I said no I just want my refund. He tried to talk me into the milkshake saying it costs more and I don't have to pay the extra so to accept his generosity. I said no just give me my money back. He finally went to the register to give me my refund and muttered under his breath the whole time about stupid troublesome customers, and make him do extra work. Spent an hour trying to get a stupid ice cream cone and then my refund. If the machine had been done all day it shouldn't have taken 45 minutes to let me know. I worked at McDonald's for years and never have I seen such a horrendous McDonald's and such bad employees/managers.
