I haven't had a good Indian meal in a while and found Masalas so have some good ratings so we decided ro stop in. While it wasn't very crowded it still had a very casual atmosphere and relaxing. The server was with us in no time and had our drinks out to us expediently. They do offer a buffet but we came in for dinner and the buffet is only available during lunch hours. I ordered the chicken Tikka which comes on a sizzler platter which consists of chicken, onions and peppers. I had ordered mine hot but it felt more like a medium than anything which means next time I will order Indian hot which is an option on the menu. The service was great throughout the entire time we were eating, the naan, or flat bread to most people was excellent, we ordered the garlic naan and it was as fresh as it can get. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that had a taste for ethnic food.

Clean, decent service, food was mediocre. Chicken tikka ordered hot but served mild. My beer went empty and I was never asked (aren't adult beverages their highest profit item?) Rice was near cold. Doesn't hold a candle to Indian restaurants in Lexington.

Went to this place today, during my lunch break, that I found on my GPS. Got myself a samosa and palak (spinach) soup. Both were exquisite. Coming into the restaurant and ready to be serviced, the woman and also the owner of the restaurant, was very courteous. She asked me where I was from, probably because she knew I had to be of Indian ethnicity and we had a nice conversation, while she had taken my order. Apparently, she was from Nepal. She told me that I should try out the buffet; however, unfortunately, I only had a 30 minute break and had to get back to my location. I am hoping to keep this review listed so I can go back and try out their entire buffet line up. It is always nice to see new Indian places pop up. Third one found and I had gone to, in Kentucky. Did not think many Kentuckians would like Indian food; but hey, a plus for me.

Reasonable price for its lunch time! (buffet style), lots of variaties.I can't eat a lot but it is definitely worth going when you are super hungry! Dinner menu are more expensive but quality is guaranteed. The indian tea taste good, if you have tried bubble tea/milk tea from China, they are quite alike(without the bubbles). Tips: If you want lamb at buffet time, Sunday would be a good day to go, I believe its buffet ends at 3:00pm.

One of my favorites, the staff are all friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is great, their weekday buffet has lots of great food, especially for your noobie friends who hasn't tried Indian food before. I love introducing this place to all my friends and family.

This was the First time I've ever had Indian food. It was as I expected. Lots of chicken (I hope it was chicken). It was good though. Service was great. Very friendly staff and clean dining area.

Love this place! The staff is always super friendly. We've had many chats about Indian culture while dinner was cooking. The spicyness is on point - although im not bra e enough to try indian hot yet. We've had the mushroom methi, chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, garlic naan, and others. The naan is delicious and has actual crushed garlic - not just some garlic powder. Food & staff are excellent! Our fave in Richmond, KY!

The food here is amazing! I had both the chicken tandoori and the chicken tikka masala, along with some naan and rice. My dad had the masala too and the garlic chicken, and mango pudding for dessert. The masala was amazing, just the right amount of spicy, and the chicken bits weren't so big that you had to cut them. The tandoori was fall off the bone delicious, and Dad said that the mango pudding balanced everything out. I'd give it 5 stars, but the atmosphere needs a little work. Above he cash register it looks like a menu layout like you'd find at a McDonald's, but the tables and chairs seemed to be from a fine-dinning place, with cloth napkins and white tablecloths. Other than that, it's great! The buffet layout is easy to follow and there are labels for everything. 10/10 would recommend!

I go to Masala with a group of south Asian friends. I tried the buffet and enjoyed every bit of it. I did not even get to try everything, so I'll be going there again. The service is also very friendly!

Had dinner there ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Curry. Both were very good. Sometimes the chicken is always dried out, that wasn't the case here. It was moist and tasty. Pretty good overall Indian Dining Experience.

Seriously? ! I don't know what you people are eating or where you have had Indian in the past, but you all need to take an immediate trip down to Atlanta and try the plethora of what is Indian amazingness. We eat Indian once a week. .at least, and this was the most uneventful, gross, bland, colorful food I have ever had. I couldn't even finish my single piece of floury, tasteless naan. This was a stop of hope on our journey that turned into a stop of nope. Lunch was a bowl of galob jamun. Sooooooo disappointed and hungry.

I'm a Berea College student from Bangladesh and Masala is my heaven for food because it is the closest to home that I can get in Madison County. The restaurant is welcoming and spacious. They have lunch buffet for $8.99, which is a very good deal. They have a really diverse menu apart from the buffet, and I personally like the chicken dishes the best. If you like South Asian cuisine, Masala is a good option.

Masala is the best food within 50 miles, and probably the best Indian food within 100 miles. Eating here introduces you to an entirely new cuisine that is top notch. The atmosphere is very classy, but their buffet is a great deal, and you don't have to wait at all for food. Expect to spend a little more if ordering off the menu. Always delicious, don't come to Richmond without experiencing Masala.

My first taste of Indian cuisine and Masala did not disappoint. I had the buffet to sample as much as I could and found myself loving every bite. A fantastic first experience and great atmosphere. Best way to eat at an upscale restaurant for less than $11.

Masala never fails to serve extraordinary platers. Every time I make a visit, I order something different from their diverse menu. This time around, I ordered the Pasanda, a platter filled with tender lamb and a rich, creamy and spicy sauce that just goes well with a side order of naan. I definitely recommend visiting this restaurant if you want delicious Indian cuisine.

We were driving through Richmond on vacation & dined-in late evening on a Friday. After eating, I was sad how few people were there. We are Indian cuisine regulars and this place ranked high on our list! Ambiance and cleanliness were a plus. Vegetarian variety is wonderful compared to most Chicago area spots. I really enjoyed the mushroom matar. Richness of spices and flavors will be hard to match elsewhere.

after a week of crazy dentists and clotting around my teeth for three days, i finally felt much better, and we decided to take our new car out on the town. the husband and i stumbled upon this absolutely delicious Indian restaurant through the help of google. even though we're not from the area, finding the place was easy. passing by some real cute houses never hurt either. we drove up to the place parked right in front, and walked in. very friendly service, they all greeted us with open arms, and immediately showed us to a table. they had just opened for the dinner portion and we didn't have to wait because we were their second customers. we sat down and they got us two waters right away, and this pita chip dish. it was crunchy like chips. pretty good, but i couldn't eat too much of it because my teeth. we ordered samosas to start. it was filled with potatoes and spices - very fresh. we loved the sauce, tangy and sweet, not too spicy either. for entrees we ordered chicken tikka masala (medium spice) which wasn't too spicy, just right for my taste buds. lamb coconut (mild spice) and seriously tasty. the lamb was cooked remarkably well - no wild taste at all, it was tender in all the right places, and the coconut sauce was just the cheery on top. of course with all this meat, we had to get a vegetable dish, so we got the chana saag. it's spinach with chick peas, herbs and spices. very flavorful and really good poured over rice. last of course, mike loves his garlic naan, so we had to get a plate of that. can you say STUFFED?? we were definitely full walking out of there, but we definitely came hungry too, plus we even got to take home leftovers. he dubbed it our new favorite Indian restaurant, totally worth the half n hour drive. wonderful dinner excellent service clean and beautiful environment - with really cool murals.

Yum yum I eat here all the time, at least 2x a week. I'd go to the lunch buffet 7 days a week if I could. Delicious food, very aromatic. The buffet is a good price only 7.99 for all you can eat delicious food with wonderful spelling spices, but it's not spicy. You have to order off the menu to get something spicy. Love the chicken curry, chicken masala, papadam, raita, mango pudding for dessert. Different veggie dishes everyday. Lots of healthy foods available, none of that fast food junk. So delicious.

Mid sized restaurant with ample seating. We have attended many times from their opening and keep coming back. They offer a wide variety on their buffet from the delicious vegetarian to classic Tikka Masala to goat curry cooked bone in to sweet kheer to top it off. Their dinner menu is so much better than the already good buffet and they will tailor the spice level to your liking. The buffet price is $7.99 at the moment.

We went there as a group of friends to enjoy Indian cuisines and foods. As I come from Myanmar, southeast Asia, I am very familiar with Indian foods. But I find the Indian food here in United States very original as the same as the foods in Asia. You can obtain any Indian foods as you can imagine. I enjoyed eating beef cuisine, spicy chicken cuisine, chicken and beef soups with rice and with bones and milk rice soup. As I have been here for more than 6 months, I am striving for Asian Foods, Masala is meeting my demands of Asian foods and I love this restaurant and want to recommend this Indian restaurant highly.

One of my favorite restaurants. Eat there weekly. Buffet is fantastic and the food is always plentiful and fresh. The menu food is wonderful. Buffet is $7.99 and ends at 3:00. Their buffet changes frequently. Always different offerings on the weekend. Recommend liking their Facebook page. They post what's on the bar for a particular day. facebook.com/masalarichm…

Went last night with a good sized group. It was wonderful, they were very accommodating and helpful. Even offered to put our birthday cake in the fridge to keep it cold. Food was exceptional, can't wait to go back. The only down side was the long wait for the food. Then again, we had 14 people, so can't hold that to much against them. They did bring the kids food out quickly which was helpful.

Are you looking for some authentic Indian cuisine along with a cold beer? Masala Fine Indian Cuisine in Richmond, Kentucky is the place to go. Since the loss of Punjab there has been a need for a new Indian cuisine destination here in Madison County, Kentucky. Masala is the perfect solution. They are open seven days a week and have a wonderful all you can eat lunch buffet, everyday, with a worthy price of $7.99. Masala is located in a spacious building with a warm, comfortable, classy feel. Beautiful Indian murals and other miscellaneous art decorate the walls adding to the authentic Indian atmosphere. I never leave here unsatisfied I honestly could go here every weekend. The food selection as well as beer selection is diverse and unique. This a fun experience for all ages. Honestly, the food and the experience are one of a kind. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.

Great Indian food! Better than some of the places in Lexington. We went for lunch buffet with our kids (7 and 10 years) - they loved it too! 6.99 per person for lunch weekday. Better decor than most Indian places.

Masala, being your only option in Richmond for Indian cuisine, is a great dining experience. Located in the old Indi's building near Kroger, it is delicious and the waiters are always friendly and very attentive. There is a buffet which I have only had the occasion to try once, however the choices were fresh and plentiful. Unfortunantely, the buffet is only available during lunchtime hours. My favorite dish is the lamb tikka masala, which, like other menu items, can be ordered in varying degrees of spiciness from mild to Indian Hot. When paired with rice and their flavorful garlic naan, you are in for a treat! Also, if you are so inclined, there are beer selections imported from India as well as tasty desserts. Having been to several different Indian restaurants, I am happy to say that Masala is equal to and in many cases far greater than all of them. The decor is somewhat refined and there is always low key Indian music playing, providing a clean, wonderful eating environment. The citizens of Richmond should feel privileged to have such a wonderful ethnic eatery in their small community and spread the word about it's presence.

I have been to lunch at Masala's in Richmond twice with my boyfriend and his parents and enjoy it every time! There is a calm and relaxing atmosphere because of the appearance, decorating, cleanliness and service. The employees are very welcoming and they also keep your glasses full and empty plates cleared form the table. Personally, I do not like tea, but the other cannot stop talking about it. They say that it has a great taste, both sweet and unsweetened varieties. The buffet offers a lot of tasty and interesting options; you can get everything from rice to lamb, chicken, vegetable fritters, and a delicious tortilla that is crunchy on the outside but soft and warm on the inside. I also have a low tolerance for spices, but I am able to handle most items on the buffet. Everyone always goes back for seconds or thrids because of the greatness of the food. Masala's is a treat for all of us and we enjoy each visit!
