Great business in Richmond! This is one of my favorite lunch spots. They're always very friendly, the sushi is always fresh and the price is great! They do get very busy at the lunch hour so I recommend calling the order in before you go.

It's a very clean, nice environment. The sushi is fresh, and always tastes great. It's not a long wait for the sushi, and you normally get two drinks for free with your order. As i like fried food, their dumplings and eggrolls are good too, though maybe a bit pricey. Though they give you plenty to eat, you always find yourself craving more. I think it's quite perfect for lunch or dinner, and a place to come back to.

Sushi was good and even though I don't drink sodas I can appreciate the free drinks touch, however, the wait for my order was a bit unacceptable. After placing my order I sat there and watched 4 people order after me get their food first. They were very short-staffed and seemed a bit disorganized, but the sushi was good and the lady was very nice and apologetic for my wait so I'll still give them 4 out of 5.

Khin's Sushi! Let it be known throughout Richmond that you can now have some good sushi in a up-and-coming central Kentucky town. Khin's was getting rave reviews here on yelp and I had to check it out. The other reviews you'll read are pretty good at summing the food. It is fairly delicious for what it is and where it is. I've visited a few times now and tried to sample a few different roles. Right off the bat, you'll find the prices are very good for the food you get. With the top tier rolls near $8, this is the most budget friendly sushi place I've been to ever. I've had the small vegetable roll, California roll, California dragon roll, and cream cheese crab roll. All fantastic blends of flavor. Drinks are essential free with purchase of a roll and appetizers present a small selection. The service here is knock-out and super friendly, so you know you'll be taken care of. Beyond that, I can't say anymore good things about this place. However, I can be a little more critical than a rave reviewer, since there's always room for improvement. 1. Nearly food is served in disposable containers. This is great for carry-out/to-go orders, however maybe not the most ecological move (if that matters to you). But hey, maybe it keeps their costs down for good priced sushi for us. 2. The bathroom is located in the back. You can always ask, but now you know. 3. The rolls, while stuffed to delight, have fallen apart on me a few times. Whether not rolled perfectly or what, I don't know. It doesn't effect the taste, which is excellent, but it does throw a kink in the experience with chopsticks. So you can take what I thought, roll it up, and slice it however you want. I'm a fan of Khin's and will definitely stop in for a sushi fix.

Amazing customer service and the food is outstanding. You might think that the low prices would mean the food would suffer, however I have found the opposite is true! I come here at least once a week! Tip: if you prefer real crab instead of the crab substitute Khin will gladly replace for a small up charge.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. The rolls can be a bit huge, which makes it hard to eat. But otherwise, amazing quality and service.

Went to khin's for the first time tonight after hearing rave reviews from several friends. It did not disappoint. My husband had the seafood soup (a steal for $3) and it was awesome. It had huge pieces of crab and shrimp in a delicious broth. We ordered three rolls, which were also delicious (including the super Dragon roll, which is the most expensive roll on the menu at a whopping $9) and bigger than you'd find at most sushi places. Drinks come free with a $5 purchase and they loaded us up with 6 extra drinks to take home. My husband was also thrilled to discover they sell their extra large bottles of sriracha (only $5!). Our bill before the tip was $37 (and that included 2 of the extra large bottles of sriracha). A really great value considering we had leftover food and a 6 pack of drinks that came home with us. Long story short, we'll be returning and soon. Beats the heck out of the other sushi restaurant in town in terms of value, service and quality. On the downside, you can't enjoy a beer while eating the delicious sushi at khin's, but that isn't going to keep us away.

If you love sushi there is no other place to go in town. Koto is good for sushi, but Khin's has them beat for sure. The service is fairly quick, they do call in take out orders, and the rolls are made fresh to order for you. When I ate here I had low expectations because I'd never been to a sushi restaurant of this kind. Boy was I wrong, this was the best sushi I had ever eaten.

Great price for great sushi, clean environment, friendly staff, also good for carry out or catering. what can be better than that? also, if you order something, they give you two drinks and a banana for free, very thoughtful workers. I can go there for every meal!

Really enjoyed Khin's. The sushi was fresh and delicious. They give discounts for cash and extra free canned drinks over a certain price order. I got 10 of the biggest crab and cream cheese rolls I've ever seen, some delicious home made miso soup and 3 canned drinks for $8.00. Normally I dip my sushi in ponzu or soy but these were so good I enjoyed them without it. The wasabi was a good consistency and the pickled ginger was good as well.

The food is always fresh and perfectly prepared. The service is fast and friendly. If you love sushi you've got to try this place. It's a wonderful dining option. The prices are like everything else, right on point.

The sushi rolls are a decent size. I thought they would be small and thus ordered 15 pieces. 10 pieces would have sufficed. What I love most about Khin's is that you get two free 12oz canned drinks if you ordered anything over $5, which is most of their menu. They have a wide selection of drinks, from your typical bottled water and Coke products to Canada Dry and Ale8. This place is great for a college student, you get the most bang for your buck. The owners are also very nice people. Fun fact--they're from Burma/Myanmar!

I don't think I can praise this place enough. Not only was the sushi scrumptious, but the service was quick and friendly, the prices are insanely low, and you get free drinks. This speaks volumes for a restaurant because drinks are one of the points of most profit in restaurants since they cost so little to provide. Khin's Sushi could be making money off of sodas but instead they are making money a more honest way - they provide a wonderful, affordable experience that keeps traffic high. I will be a returning customer for sure!

I absolutely love this restaurant. The owners are very sweet and the food is made fresh and quickly. You always get a free drink with your roll and they are the most reasonably priced in the area. Real crab instead of imitation used by the other restaurants in the area. I will continue to eat here until we are forced to move. Even my son (3 yoa) loves to eat here. He really only eats the sushi rice but he loves it!

Friendly service. Clean. FRESH ingredients. Great prices. Free drinks and bananas with just about every purchase. All told, what a wonderful experience.

The owners of this little place are the kindest and giving people. Not to mention they have a lot of sushi making experience. Go eat there.. you won't be disappointed! We drive from Lexington across the ferry through the twisty back roads and it makes a great drive/dinner adventure. It really feels like we have been on a little getaway. Having a Mini S on the back roads doesn't hurt the experience either!

  • D B.

Great price for good sushi in generous amounts. Drinks are included. The wonderful owners ply you with free soup, bananas, snacks. You can spend $10 and get better quality food and more of it than you would at a fancier sushi restaurant (Koto) for $50. It's bare bones with folding tables and plastic ware, but you really get your money's worth there.

I grew up on a coast with a lot of fresh fish and was thrilled to find an affordable sushi place in Kentucky that serves excellent sushi!!! Very friendly staff and free drink if you eat in! Spicy tuna on brown rice is my favorite!

I love Khin's Sushi, and I think you will to if you know what to expect. Khin's is brand new and very small, very hole-in-the-wall, which I love. It's unpretentious, clean, extremely friendly, and a great value. I remember last summer ordering some sushi to go from Koto in the Richmond Centre, to take it with me for a little picnic at E.C. Million park. It was disappointing--overpriced, small, uninteresting sushi. At Khin's, it tastes fresh, the servings are generous, and like I said, the lack of pretention is fantastic. If you're dining in, you are greeted by the sweet Khins, grab a canned cola from the fridge, plop down at one of the plastic card tables. I love the simplicity and honesty of it. If I could change one thing, I'd love it if Khin's had bottled Japanese beer or sake. I will take it as-is, though. Lovely, and so easy to love.

Khin's has the best sushi in town... They're a family owned business, and the price is amazing. They couldn't be any friendlier, and you get so much amazing sushi, for just a small price! Really, if you're in town, give them a shot!

This place is an example of how a sushi restaurant does not have to have a fancy, modern interior to be good. As you can tell from the photos, it is a very, very basic restaurant with folding chairs, plastic plates and disposable utensils. There is seating for only about 15-20 people and it is brightly lit with little to no artwork on the walls. Now that the "negatives" are out in the open, I can tell why you should go here. First, the owners are awesome! It is truly a family owned business and they go well out of their way to make sure you are having an enjoyable experience. They have been known to offer free drinks, dessert and fruit with your entrees, available either with dine-in or carry out. That said, there is always a cooler full of already prepared sushi that you can grab and go and if you don't see what you want, they will gladly make it for you. The quality AND quantity is excellent for the price and when you factor in the free drinks and fruit it is a very good bargain.

Khin's is a great place. The service is super friendly, and you don't have to wait too long for your order either. The prices are very affordable; the food, excellent. The fried chicken dumplings are incredible, and the California roll is up to par. The restaurant is not the best as far as ambiance goes, but it is well lit and clean. I look forward to many more visits here.

Definitely the best sushi and miso around. The best service I've had at any restaurant.

Great and fast sushi stop in Richmond, KY. If you call ahead they will have your order waiting for you to pick up. I have had the spicy combo roll and the special California roll. Both are great. They have a menu with several different rolls, and several side items. The prices are really cheap, with special rolls being $7,$8,$9 and sides just a few dollars. They also give you free cans of soda!

So I was on my way back to Atlanta after a business meeting in Lexington and I was really hoping to get some good sushi. I read the great reviews on Yelp and decided to stop here since it was, more or less, on my way. Khin's is definitely made for take-out with some tables for dine-in, but the styrofoam plates and canned sodas tell you where their heart is. The sushi is good... not awesome.... not bad... but good. What separates this place are the reasonable prices (focused on inexpensive rolls) and the friendly and efficient service. They also throw in free cans of soda with your order (amount of free soda is determined by size of order). Don't expect much in the way of dining room decorations... but that's ok, because the prices are cheap and the service is fast... and remember it's focus take out. Definitely hit the spot when jonesing for a sushi fix. I would come back, for sure.

My favorite sushi place I've ever eaten at! Stepping through the doors of this small shop there really isn't much to look at, however the food is worth the lacking decor. The price of the food is amazing for the quality and quantity of the sushi. I came with my dad and he ordered one of everything just because it was so inexpensive..and everything was delicious!

I can honestly say I have religiously visited Khin's Sushi and have never been disappointed by the amiable service, affordable prices, and high quality fresh sushi. Before trying Khin's I disliked sushi, now I am obsessed with their food. This is a great local restaurant everyone should visit because it is fast and worth every cent.

Khin you win. My belly that is. Huge rolls with righteous pricing. The rice on the rolls is so important. Khan's rice is perfectly cooked and fresh not dried out like you can sometimes get. We will be back when in Richmond.

Wonderful place to eat. I go here quite frequently and I am never dissapointed. You get two drinks for every 5 dollars you spend. I highly recommend eating here for a quick inexpensive luck or dinner!

This place is a Gem! Locally owned and you can tell. There's so much attention to detail with the food. Its a small hole in the wall but its clean as a whistle and the food is expertly made! Wow Richmond is really lucky to have this place !! I got the Special Seafood Soup huge shrimp with large pieces of crab very fresh carrots and celery and egg. Super Duper Yum!!

The service is 5++ stars. The sushi is 4 stars. For once, I'm gonna round up to the 5 stars. We found ourselves in Richmond one weekend because the muscle car needed new tires. Boyfriend is very proud of knowing how to use his newly installed Yelp app; unfortunately, he's not a fan of sushi at all. More for me though!! And he was sweet to find this place for me while we waited for the tires to be installed. Khin's was pretty hard to locate; it's in a strip mall with Hobby Lobby, pretty far off the road. It's also a bare bones kind of place, so don't expect much. But what it lacks in decor, it makes up in hospitality, which is pretty much above and beyond. Appetizers are about $3 and sushi is anywhere from $5 to $9. You really do get your money's worth. The rolls are pretty much double in size from other sushi joints, but a big factor in that is that they do use a lot of rice...moreso than what they are supposed to use. It's not a very noticeable skimping of the fish...it is more than adequate, which is why I can't really find reason to be annoyed about the abundance of rice. It is a little heavy on the saucing though, but I think that it's catering to their customer crowd...I'm more used to the plain; I don't even use soy sauce or wasabi half the time. And while it's not California or Chicago sushi, it's pretty good for being smack dab of horse and mountain country. Hilariously, I did appreciate that the rolls were served in styrofoam platters because we did have to make a hasty exit. So if you're looking for candles and muted lighting and soft music, this is not it. But what really puts them over the top is their service with a smile. The owner pretty much does everything, and he is always running around the place. You get free drinks with an order of $5, which is pretty much a roll...and it's not skimpy drinks either...it's bottled water or a can of pop. He even tried to load us with 8 bottles of water once we decided to take our half finished meals to go...my boyfriend was all for that, but I was like, What? Who does that?? Take your bottle; we have some already in the car!...but that hospitality...it's really sweet and not something you'd find common nowadays.

Fast, delicious and cheap! Lots of free sodas. Everything was good!! Too bad I don't live closer. It is kind of hard to find if you aren't from the area.

Free drink with $5 purchase! Cheap food and tons of flavor! One of my favorite places in Richmond now...

Khin's is a great place for a college sushi lover who is on a budget. Their rolls are very inexpensive, but it's mostly because they are made mostly of rice. It tastes great, but you can see how they cut costs. The service is great, and the whole family is very friendly. If your looking for sushi that can really fill you up, this is the place to go!

Khin's is one the best lunch deals I've ever seen in the U.S. (And I've been everywhere) The rolls I typically go for cost around $6, and I get two cans of soda included. I've gone in with family and ended up walking out with several extra beverages. I've had sushi many times in Japan, two Nobu restaurants, and many other places, and while there's nothing fancy about the presentation, I've always left satisfied. Don't expect a great atmosphere for a romantic date or an important business lunch. The inside is very basic. It's clean, but very bare-bones. Regardless, Khin's is a gem!
