Healthy Meal suggestions for Texas Roadhouse

We visit this Texas Roadhouse location at least once a week. It's the only decent American food in Pikeville. We moved back to the region about a year ago and have been regulars ever since. Our favorite manager, Court, keeps the standards of this place up. You can tell a big difference in food quality when he's managing. The steaks are always cooked right when we see him there. That means a lot to us.

Texas Roadhouse has become our second dining room. Until it opened the choices in Pikeville were sadly limited. While the quality won't be mistaken for a top steakhouse, we all know that is not the goal of the establishment. They serve generous portions of good food, provide great service, and have a fun environment. My only complaint is that they are often out of the BBQ roasted half chicken on Sunday afternoon and that they will occasionally misunderstand the order and bring the regular BBQ chicken breast when instead. If they are slow ask for Kayla. My wife adores her so she deserves some recognition. It is hard to impress my bride.

Had delicious grilled chicken salad served with hard boiled eggs croutons tomatoes and honey mustard dressing. There is more than enough for me to eat the rest for lunch today. Service was consistent and she even brought me a frosty mug Thanks Sherry The price was great as they have a "before 6 menu"

We were required to call Texas Roadhouse an hour in ahead of time before we arrive so to get a table for three of us, when we arrived there was a very long line of customers which that forced us to wait in the line for more than an hour at most but the problem was that the customers who were in the line behind us were called to a table as a table freed up when it was supposed to be us because we were there earlier than these customers. It was not the only once, twice, third but more than fourth times that they allowed customers to skips us when we made a reservation way before they did as we were in ahead of the line so the service were obviously poorly done especially with reservations. I caught a server or a waitress, however they call them but a guy who were carrying a large plate with few plates on it underneath his chin with a regular sized goatee hairs so it was somewhat unpleasant to be the one that caught the man who were carrying it underneath his chin with goatee hairs. Foods were a-okay, we have ordered a different meals ourselves, myself I have bought the smokehouse burger, my mother and my step father both bought the same meal which was steak tips. My mother ended up sending her meal back because the entire of her steak tip were very rare (red) which she never could stands any meats that shows red so they had to fix her another steak tips that she had originally ordered which was well-done steak tips. My step father on other hand, he liked medium done (rare, but not rare) steak tips so I can only guess that he liked his meal more than both of us but for myself the smokehouse burger were somewhat decent but definitely not the best burger I have ever ate in my lifetime. We chosen Texas Roadhouse as my mother's birthday dinner which it was the first time that we've ever ate at Texas Roadhouse and I can safely say that it is possible that we won't be their returning customers as we all agreed that we could've got better steaks along with other foods from our local steakhouse in Belfry, Ky which is called Thoroughbred Steakhouse. The pricing for all of foods on the menu are absurd because myself alone for a burger with cheese fries (steak french fries with cheese on top) costs over twenty dollars including taxes while there were only 6-7 fries and a regular size (think Wendy's or Mcdonald's) burger meat on the plate when I could easily get a lot more for just a couple of dollars.

Been there 3 different times and each time the food was perfect. The steak is so tender and marinaded to a unique taste. The rolls and the beat too. Can't go wrong. ORDER THE RIBS.

Great service and drinks. Food could be better, but some items are much better than others. Sweet potatoes and boneless wings are good, steak is decent. Great place to hang out!

We decided to go out for my birthday and give this place a try instead of the same old same old we always get locally. We got there and the wait was about 30 minutes which was fairly accepted for a Saturday night, we expected to wait longer. Our waitress came over to us and ask us our drink orders of before we could even speak to let her know we were ready to order appetizers she was gone in a flash to get the drinks, same happen everytime through the right of the night and it took her quite a while to return each time and she didn't bother to say excuse me while she walked away but she wasn't the problem. The problem began when we all received our food. My mother and sister had ordered an 11 Oz sirloin and I ordered 8 Oz, and we all ordered medium well. Before I even cut into my steak I could see blood in the plate and once I actually cut into mine it was very raw and blood was all over the plate as though they hadn't even cooked it. I sent it back and when the next come out it was done properly but missing the mushroom topping I had first requested. And to beat it all after their mistake all they did was take a $1.99 off for not adding the mushrooms. I felt they could of done more since they served me a bloody raw steak. My mother, sister and boyfriends food however turned out as they had ordered it. He got the pulled pork dinner and we got both the blooming onion and cheese fries. All of the food in the end was nothing but mediocre and I won't go back and I suggest saving your money instead of bothering with this steakhouse simply because I don't believe a bloody raw steak is acceptable.

Came in during an especially busy time on Sunday. Service was exceptional and Jamie the manager was amazing. Everyone was friendly and quick to help with whatever I needed. Price was comparable with other chains and a value for the amount and quality of food.

I have to say this was one of the better meals I've had at Texas Roadhouse. The waitress was very accommodating and the food was excellent. We got there just as they opened for the day, but everything was fresh and good. Our salads were good and the steaks were wonderful. I highly recommend!

Good food! The wait is a little long during busy nights, but it's well worth the wait. The only issue I have with the place is the cook on the steaks. When I ask for medium I get well done, when I get med-rare I get medium. Just remember to buy one above what you want to get the right cook on it.
