Good bar with descent selection. Dinners arena little pricey for the quality. Open for lunch now and isn't bad.
My family has eaten here several times and always enjoyed it. This resturant is a great addition to the dining out options around here. I haven't tried anything I haven't liked. The new lobster corn dog is delicious but I prefer the prior method of serving shrimp and grits, with the grits not fried. The decor is great, the service is good and the food is wonderful. What's not to like.
It's good food, a bit expensive and slower service however I'm from Chicago and understand things move slower down here so I suppose it was pretty good. We were also walk ins that were unexpected and they found a place for us quick.

Texas Roadhouse

Reviews:
We visit this Texas Roadhouse location at least once a week. It's the only decent American food in Pikeville. We moved back to the region about a year ago and have been regulars ever since. Our favorite manager, Court, keeps the standards of this place up. You can tell a big difference in food quality when he's managing. The steaks are always cooked right when we see him there. That means a lot to us.
Texas Roadhouse has become our second dining room. Until it opened the choices in Pikeville were sadly limited. While the quality won't be mistaken for a top steakhouse, we all know that is not the goal of the establishment. They serve generous portions of good food, provide great service, and have a fun environment. My only complaint is that they are often out of the BBQ roasted half chicken on Sunday afternoon and that they will occasionally misunderstand the order and bring the regular BBQ chicken breast when instead. If they are slow ask for Kayla. My wife adores her so she deserves some recognition. It is hard to impress my bride.
Had delicious grilled chicken salad served with hard boiled eggs croutons tomatoes and honey mustard dressing. There is more than enough for me to eat the rest for lunch today. Service was consistent and she even brought me a frosty mug Thanks Sherry The price was great as they have a "before 6 menu"

Very nice buffet. The staff was nice and attentive. The food was varied, plentiful and the pans were always full. The price was not bad for all the food options available. The restaurant was clean (they were always wiping down tables and running the silent sweeper) and so was the restroom (the ladies at least. We didn't have a man with us so unsure about the men's room). New customers were greeted immediately upon arrival and seated right away. I will definitely eat here again when I'm in Pikeville another time.
I've loved this place for years. The General Tso's chicken is consistently outstanding. The rest of the buffet is also a bit hit. Very well done and a well kept place with a great staff
2 stars only because of the very friendly and attentive staff. The food was horrendous though (even for a Chinese buffet). It's a shame that it is so difficult to find even a mediocre Chinese buffet outside of NY, LA, or SF. You would think that with as "Americanized" as it has become that it would be fairly simple....... We decided to try at what we thought would be a good time for fresh and hot food which was about 5:30 pm. Nearly all of the choices were barely warm at best, all of the fried items were overly battered as well as overly fried. Most everything was overloaded with salt and MSG versus authentic Chinese spices and flavorings. We really don't expect much anymore from Chinese buffets but this one fell well below even that low standard.

Dairy Cheer

I walked over to Dairy Cheer during a recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Pikeville. The sign boasts that it's the home of "the original Smashburger", and Lord knows, I have an insatiable appetite for a good burger. The place is old-timey and could probably use a good paint job. The dining area was pretty empty at dinner time, but their drive-thru was slammed during my whole meal. I was a glutton and wanted to try just about everything (including the Pikevilly Cheesesteak!). I ordered a Smashburger, add cheese and bacon; onion rings; Fresca, in a can (charmed to pieces by this, reminds me of my granny's); and a peanut butter/chocolate shake (look away, Judge-y). I tore into my grease feast: the burger, despite the toppings of shredded lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo, was quite dry, cold and flavorless. A bit of a letdown, as I had high expectations for "the original Smashburger." The buttered, toasted bun was a nice touch, however it wasn't a sturdy enough bun to handle all the toppings. The burger kind of reminded me of a SLIGHTLY tastier Sonic Drive-Thru burger. However, the bacon and pickles on the sandwich were amazeballs - so flavorful, with smoky, chewy goodness from the bacon and cold, thick crunchy pickle slices. The saving grace of the sandwich. The onion rings were good, more like an onion funnel cake, a great glob of them mounded and battered and deep fried. They were definitely freshly sliced and prepared to-order, which is always wonderful. However, this portion is for 2-3 people to split, and after peeling off several greasy rings, I was feeling a bit gross and queasy. The peanut butter and chocolate shake was DIVINE. My favorite part of the meal. Rich, thick but still slurpable through a straw, and blended with - I swear - real peanut butter swirls of goodness. Pure fatty deliciousness. I'd return just for the shake next time. Prices were reasonable, you get diner-style food for diner-style prices, in an old-fashioned fast food setting.
If you're staying at the Holiday Inn Express down the road, this is a great option instead of the familiar fast food restaurants. The booths and decor of the place in general needs an update but it's clean and spacious. The menu, some hand written and all over the place, is extensive and cheap! You can get anything from burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, to milk shake and ice cream. The food is nothing out of the ordinary but good, cheap and plentiful. Order at the front and sit down like any other fast food places. I wouldn't recommend the pumpkin spice latte, overly sweet and thick. There is also a drive thru.
While staying at the Holiday Inn Express, we decided to try this place out. It was horrible! They made our order and proceeded to allow it to sit while they waited on an employee who stopped by to get food. In addition to that, they were too busy gossiping to pay attention to the line in the drive thru. They presented us with soupy ice cream and tried to hand is someone else's order to top it off. If my son wasn't in the car, I would have just driven off, and gone to the Dairy Queen a few doors down. If I could, I'd have given this zero stars. My advice is find another place!

I stopped in during an epic road trip I was taking and the food did not disappoint. I thought I would face some hostility being the only brown person in the restaurant, but the stereotypes were unwarranted because everyone was friendly. I loved their hot buttered yeast rolls for the appetizer, which I just gobbled up. I had the sirloin lunch special and it was delicious and very inexpensive. I could definitely see myself stopping here again in the future, especially if I was coming to check out the Hatfield-McCoy stuff nearby.
This was a terrible experience. Called at 8:30 to make a reservation for 9. When we arrived they said that there would be approximate 20 minute wait. Wait ended up being one and a half hours. They finally seated us then sat two more tables after ours. Waitress basically ignored us and proceeded to the other two tables seated after they had seated our table. The waitress then said that She would be with us in a moment at least 4 times before she finally took our drink order. We observed that two waitresses were joking and carrying on. Then our waitress was checking someone out in the register as she was having a drink. Ten minutes later and still no drinks. We had to get our own menus and silverware. When she finally came with our drinks we were on the way out the door. I will not make a repeat visit. Appalling.
I went to a large group gathering here. The food is three stars. Nothing bad, nothing good, just average. I don't know how much better one can do in the Pikeville area, it not being exactly metropolitan, but that's beside the point. The service was great, despite there being one waitress for all of us. That made things a little slow at the end, but she got all of our orders right (a first in our gatherings). The extra star is really earned, however, by the rolls. I ate at least 6 of those things and I would have pocketed more but other people had finished the rest. They're warm, soft, slightly crispy on the outside without being burnt, and they just melt in your mouth. So if the food's not so great... see if you can show up and bum some free rolls and th... no, no, don't do that. Eat a meal. You'll be fine.

Pikeville Historic Mansion Bed and Breakfast

Reviews:
Southeastern Kentucky is a place that's experienced (and continues to experience) a lot of hard times. So, it's hard to be too critical of anyone trying to make a go of it there. This is the only bed and breakfast that we could find for miles and miles in any direction. Nonetheless, I must say that we were rather disappointed by our stay at this place. The cons: The bed and breakfast is actually owned by the same person who owns the enormous Hampton Inn right next door, so it feels just like part of a big hotel empire, not a homey B&B. The owner doesn't live in the B&B, and they also did not have a cook when we were there. So, instead of being treated to a delicious home-cooked breakfast, we were told to walk over to the Hampton for their breakfast. (we made our reservation online, and didn't find this out until we arrived). This was a major disappointment. Also, the room we stayed in was bizarrely paneled in pieces of pine 2x4. It kind of felt like being inside a cedar chest, not really in a good way. It was otherwise fine but nothing to write home about. The pros: The lady who greeted us was extremely warm and friendly even though we were an hour past check-in time. They also let us use the pool at the Hampton. Across the street is a nice park where there were a fair number of people out for a stroll or bicycling somewhere or playing with their kids, which was pretty heartwarming. If you have to stay in Pikeville, this is probably your best option. But if I were doing this again I'd probably try out one of the mountain resorts or parks nearby.

The foods from Burger King in Pikeville is of course delicious, it is one of my top three fast-food restaurants. I truly love their new chicken nuggets that just came out, as I've told my step father that the chicken nuggets from Burger King tastes like if they were from home which it's kind of chicken (in form of nuggets) several people loves. I dislike all of the fast-food restaurants chicken nuggets except Burger King and Wendy's, so be sure to try out their delicious chicken nuggets and order ten of chicken nuggets! The foods from Burger King, along with their delicious hamburger meats is of course a four-four half stars from me but only reason I rate a three, almost two is because of their drive-thru service is stinks as they would talk to every customers or at least especially the customers that the employees personally knows for long period of time as I had timed it using my stopwatch watch and it takes 4 minutes for customer that's next of me but only exactly 52 seconds for me. It looked like they only ordered a drink of something as they weren't handed any bags but a cup so for a cup it surely wouldn't take any longer than 20-30 tops seconds for a senior citizen to fill up a cup for the customer.
