I've been here several times and each visit is enjoyable and the food has been hot and delicious. If you're really hungry, you can go for the all-you-can-eat BBQ (there are several options to choose from). Depending on the day you go, there may be a special discount on the all-you-can-eat or the salad bar for half price, and other various specials. The restaurant has always been clean, and the staff very friendly and inviting. (Eli is my favorite - so handsome, and so nice!) The sauces are on the table for you to try, so you can add as little or as much as you want. The sides are tasty. I've had the mac & cheese, broccoli, apples, corn on the cob, and green beans - all of which have been quite good. You also get a choice of garlic toast or cornbread. If you do the all-you-can-eat, you can also get free refills on the sides and bread! Try this place out, ask for Eli to be your server, and enjoy some good BBQ!

This was def not good, which I hate to say because we were really hoping it would be. I ordered a salad and it was obvious it had been sitting in the styrofoam container for a day of not two with the meat placed on top. It was soggy and just gross! My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and it was nothing great, he said the meat was dry, and that was still with sauce. The baked beans were gross and the Mac n cheese was disgusting, which is another huge disappointment because when you get bbq you want good sides!! Probably will never be back, we knew we should of stuck with City BBQ!!

Pretty good bbq. I tried one of the new sandwich options. It was called the smokin gun. Pulled pork with smoked sausage, onions and banana peppers. Pretty good but messy. It's your average bbq but works for a quick dinner.

Decent BBQ but nothing special at all. Ordered a family meal. Chicken, Ribs and Brisket - ALL 3 WERE DRY. Service was good. Just ok overall. Sad if this is the best BBQ in the area.....

My boyfriend loves BBQ, so we always want to give sonny's another try. It is the only BBQ place in Nicholasville, so saves us the hassle of driving to Lexington. We went on Mother's Day for lunch & did expect it to be busy. We had to wait 20 minutes (which was expected). We were told we were waiting for the kitchen staff to catch up. During our wait time I got to see a lot. Such as the wait staff laughing & cutting up with the cook staff. Several customers were coming up front for refills & to pay their tab. I guess the wait staff was too busy having fun. One man brought his appetizer to the front because it was still frozen in the middle. Before they sent the next one out I saw the cook staff stick his finger in the egg roll to make sure it wasn't cold. At least he did have a glove on. I think what disgusted me the most was watching the waitresses play with their hair, cough in their hand & apply make up. I know nowhere is perfect but at least don't do these things in plain sight. Our food was decent & I think the prices were fair, but nothing aggravates me more than having to wait 5 to 10 min for a refill drink, especially when I can see the staff sitting & talking. I think it's worth the drive to Lexington to City BBQ.

Always a favorite! We come hear every year on our anniversary and are never disappointed! I drive 7 hours for the sweet Sonny's BBQ sauce All you can eat RIBS! I'll post a photo. The all you can eat menu comes with all you can eat sides, so (if you're into other things than ribs) you can do that too...I just love those ribs! There are Sonny's restaurants all over the south but I love the Nicholasville, KY location the best! You won't be disappointed if you like BBQ. Try the "sweet" sauce.

Reliable place to have a filling lunch. The only place that in nicholasville to have a good meal with good service every time. Price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Highly recommended for good service and food!

I used to use Sonny's catering as an event planner all the time when I lived in Florida. Unfortunately, there aren't any Sonny's restaurants in the north, so I'd gone two years without having it after I moved back home. Imagine my delight when I got to town and saw the Sonny's right by the hotel. The mac & cheese is as delicious as ever, and the smokin' BBQ sauce is one of my favorites.

I am a BBQ fan and this is good BBQ. Went there on a weekday for supper. They have a different all you can eat special on certain days. I had the ribs, they had good flavor and I ate all i wanted. Went back and had the salad bar, which is a meal in it self. Huge glasses of soft drinks/tea/ Good service, reasonable price. Went here with a friend before a concert. Ordered the special, Chicken and Ribs for $9.99. The ribs were tender, easy to pull of the bone. Not messy either. The chicken consisted of a wing and breast. Very tasty as well. Meal came with either garlic bread or cornbread plus two sides. I choose the garlic bread; you get two pieces and they are fairly large. They'd make a decent sandwich. For the two sides I had corn-on-the-cob and mash potatoes. Your drink is large too. I enjoyed my meal and would recommend.

You really can't beat Sonny's at all or ever. it was well work the 800 or so miles to enjoy Sonny's. I've had it in Florida countless time and since we were in KY on a road trip, we had to go again. I got my girlfriend addicted to the ribs. I wish I had the money, if I did there would be a Sonny's in Maryland.

Love SONNY'S! This is the place my daughter and I love to come to after a day out running errands, etc. She loves the Mac n' cheese and I'm in food love with the salad bar. Often get the AUCE dry rub ribs and have always had great portions (refills slightly smaller, but hey, they don't wanna go broke do they?, lol). They taste great, always hot. Perfection when paired with the smokin'(in Jim Carrey's best Mask voice) BBQ sauce. If you love BBQ, this is the place! Ask for Beth or Jennifer for your server :)

Good food and quantity. Prices are a little high, but within reason. Good environment & family friendly. I would like to see them provide Wi-Fi access so we could host small business meetings there.

Great BBQ! I had the sliced pork, corn on the cob, baked beans, and cornbread. Everything was fantastic. The cornbread especially was great. They had 4 sauces: Sweet, Sizzling Sweet, Mild, and Hot. Very good sauce. Overall, it was great!

Great choice for vegetarians too. Yep, really. The "Garden of Eatin" salad bar includes homemade soup and great variety of salads, including vegetarian protein choices like beans, cheeses, and hard boiled eggs. Ordering several of the "sidekicks" side dishes is another great option. Choices include baked mac and cheese, BBQ beans, baked sweet potatoes, loaded baked potatoes, and cole slaw. My husband and I are vegetarian and we were both too full to even consider dessert!
