So glad my boyfriend is from Kentucky. Not only is it a beautiful state, but it also happens to be the home for this fabulous place! I'm a pescatarian and find it hard to locate the perfect pizza. My boyfriend suggested a pizza called The Green Lantern (I believe it was called that??). Absolutely delicious! I'm excited to come back this summer and order it again. California really does not do well with pizzas. Go Kentucky!

I am always a fan of Dewey's. The Newport location is my favorite place to grab a bite to eat before a movie. I love the House salad and the Ryan's Inferno Pizza is great! What I love about this place is that they will do half and half on all pizzas! There is not much to say about the service...it is always busy and I know that is why the service is sometimes lacking.

Dewey's Pizza is a Midwestern pizza place that aims to please and does a pretty good job! I've only been to this location inside the Newport Levee. The pizza is really good. I have done various combinations of the make-your-own variety and also tried the Hawaiian pizza. They have lots of other interesting flavor variety pizzas. I also enjoy that the pizza is put on one of those pizza racks raised above the table. It really saves room on the table for whatever else you have. I really like going to this location because you can also enjoy all that the Newport Levee has to offer. They also have three types of seating. You can sit inside the restaurant, in an indoor patio inside the mall, and then in an outdoor patio looking over the courtyard outside the mall.

I've been to Dewey's Pizza at the Levee a couple of times and was pleased with the quality of the service and the food. We were able to eat outside in the fall, which was a nice touch. We usually have plenty of leftovers; that's never bad. We've tried various combinations and the pizza has been consistently good. Sometimes the place is crowded, but being at the Levee, you can always go somewhere else if you don't have time or the desire to wait. There's another N KY location at Crestview Towne Center, too.

This is a cute family joint in the mall. The pizza was genuinely good & they had lots of nice veggie combos. The service was good and they have a really nice patio. The walnut/grapes salad was really tasty. It's huge so there was plenty to share! We had the Edgar Allan Poe & Socrates Revenge. Both were really good (I preferred EAP bc it had olives I could pick out and put on my man's plate). Not much else to say other than they lost a star for mis-calibrated Coke. It's inexcusable for a pizza place to not have their Coke up to par!

i get to the cincinnati area about twice a year visiting in-laws and always make a point of having lunch or dinner at this dewey's. the pizza and service have always been great. i've lost track of how many times i've been at this one, but it is enough that i have settled on either the green lantern or the edgar allen poe pizza, they are both excellent (i usually get them with chicken). the candied walnut salad is a very good starter too. my two kids have opposite views of the pizza. my four year old loves their cheese pizza by my seven year old finds it too spicy. regardless they both enjoy being able to watch the pizza's getting made and tossed! last time i went they were not too busy so one of the guys tossed a pizza as large as he could until it ripped -- they really enjoyed that.

We went a couple weeks ago for my husband's birthday. From the bartender, to our server to management...everyone was awesome! I'm a big fan of Dewey's Pizza - I love that it's fresh. They have unique topping choices. Their menu is simple and they know how to do pizza crust! I always get the same thing - The Green Lantern (I'm a sucker for goat cheese). It's incredible and makes my tastebuds happy. Do yourself a favor - put down the Larosa's and go to Dewey's.

I love Dewey's pizza and live in Oakley, so used to top notch service from the Oakley location, but stopping by Newport on the Levee with a friend on Sunday afternoon, we thought we couldn't go wrong with some Dewey's, but we were wrong. Lots of people were coming into the restaurant to be seated, but not a host or hostess could be found, had to ask a server if we and about 5 other groups if anyone was taking care of seating people. We ended up at the bar with all of the confusion. The bar wasn't that full but took time for bartender to even ask us what we wanted to drink & take our pizza order. Once the pizza arrived it was good only saving grace to this location. If you're wanting Dewey's better off to go to another location in town.

PATRONS WITH ALLERGIES BEWARE!! Newport on the Levy location. So my review is low not because of the taste of the food - as always it's amazing! But the service and kitchen prep. I have a food allergy to gluten. Dewey's had always been one of my go to pizzerias because they do a great job with preparing a "gluten free" pizza. EXCEPT THIS LOCATION!! So beware if you have a gluten allergy. When I ordered my pizza I was very specific with the server and asked him to let the kitchen know I had an allergy - this is not just a life choice. Since my body reacts rather quickly to gluten I felt that the manager should know that the pizza they brought me was definitely NOT gluten free. Because I was starting to react to it and get sick . When I told the server - he just kind of shrugged it off (poor service from him all night by the way - 1 drink refill and whisked away "leftovers" before 2 of the guys were done eating)...but he did go tell the manager. The manager was nice but his response was just to come over and tell me their kitchen procedures. He really didn't apologize but kind of put it all back on me with "Well, it is a pizza place so there is going to be flour everywhere". When I told him that this was the only Dewey's I have ever had an issue with and that I was only telling him because I thought their kitchen needed to know and be more careful - he just said he was trying to gather information and thanks and that was it. Even though I was not looking for anything - there was not even an offer to remove the charge for the extra $3.00 I paid to get poisoned or to even get me a glass of water. Still sick this morning - so much so - that this was not cross contamination, there is absolutely no way they used a gluten free crust! And no one else who ate the pizza with me got sick so it wasn't a bad pizza. Just a regular pizza crust! I won't be going back there again. Poor service (and they were not that busy), poor kitchen prep with food and poor management in my opinion. Amended my rating on this review just because - the General Manager actually took the time to seek me out and apologize. We had a great conversation and it feels like they will be addressing this issue. Thanks for taking this concern seriously!

Dewey's pizza is unique in that they will create two completely different pizzas on one actual pie. This works great for my husband and me considering we have nothing in common when it comes to pizza. They have several toppings options ranging from the standard pepperoni to more unique toppings like pine nuts. They have several specialty pizzas that are really unlike any other pizza you've ever had. I have to say that while the pizza is good, the salads are amazing! I always get the Caesar salad with my pizza. I've had several other salads and have never been disappointed. My husband likes Chicago style pizza so he opted for a calzone and really liked it. The pizza sauce is so good that I stole some of his and dipped my pizza (that already had the sauce on it). Expect to gain 5lbs from the 12,000 calories you will consume. The downside to Dewey's is the price. To create your own personal pizza, the base is $8.95 and then an additional $1.50 per regular topping. In other words, you'd have to pay $1.50 to get green pepper on your pizza. Ouch! Want a gourmet topping? That'll run you $1.75 per item. The item prices go up as your pizza gets larger. So if you're building a really fun and unique pizza, you'll be paying a pretty penny.

Dewey's is a solid choice! If pizza is what you want, then pizza is what you'll get. They have a variety of specialty pizzas on the menu and they also offer a "build your own" option. Also available are a few side items. What I really enjoy are their salads. Their house salad is AMAZING and well priced. Overall, Dewey's is a great choice for groups or even for a solo meal. On weekends, they get pretty crowded so be prepared for a bit of a wait.

We try to hit Dewey's every time we come to Cincinatti. The original crust is thin and chewy with the right amount of crunch. I usually get veggies on mine but no one else likes them. Not my favorite Dewey's location. Not sure what it is about this location, but it seems to pale in comparison to others in the area. The food is okay, the service so-so. And maybe it's that I am grumpy about being in a sort-of mall that makes me not terribly enjoy this particular location, but it just seems a little blander and a little less friendly. That said, I like the menu, as long as I remind myself ahead of time how expensive it's going to be. And I love that they have fountain red pop. If you're in the area and in the mood for Dewey's, I dunno, you might be a bit disappointed with your dining experience, so set your expectations low.

After not visiting the restaurant in years, I came back as part of this "eat at pizza places I used to frequent" thing I've been doing as of late. Unlike my return to Pomodoris (read: the worst dining experience I've ever had, I hope the place burns down in a wood-fire, hahaha), I am excited to say they exceeded my expectations tonight. The restaurant's atmosphere is still a little loud and perhaps too industrial for my liking, but they run a TIGHT ship here. Drinks never even made it to half empty before being replaced, for example. Wait staff seemed pleasant and the new menu additions (its been about 3 years since ive been) were excellent. OK, first time in Ohio and my daughter took us here. We got there at 6:15 and the Reds games started at 7:10 pm. We thought we had enough time. Somehow they lost our order. We told the manager at 6:45 and told him we needed to make the game AND have our pizza. The guy was fabulous. He admitted the mistake and got our pizzas in about 15 minutes with no charge. After our first experience here, we were anxious to return. It was packed this time, however, and unfortunately it effected the experience. The service was still very good, but the pizza was not as impressive. We ordered a medium with half Ryan's Inferno, and half of the southwestern style. Ryan's Inferno was about the same as last time, not spicy enough. The southwestern side had a nice spicy barbecue sauce, with nice peppers and chicken, but had a tasteless bean and corn salsa. The crust was far from what I fell in love with the first visit. It was slightly over cooked, maybe rushed and cooked too fast? I have to admit I was disappointed. The pizza was decent, but not memorable. I would still return if I had the opportunity, maybe when they were not as busy.

As far as CIncinnati-based chain pizzerias go, Dewey's is my favorite. The pizzas are well-made, creative, and they do half-and-half pies without an issue. This specific location does not disappoint. Newport on the Levee has a number of hang-out spots like bars and chain restaurants. You'd think with nice places like Mitchell's or laid-back places like Claddagh that a dime-a-dozen chain pizzeria would fall short and be unpopular. Au contraire! I'm pretty sure every night I've gone to the movies at AMC Newport, there is a wait at Dewey's. When I went recently, there was a 20 minute wait so we opted to sit at the mostly-empty bar. We were helped quickly by the bartender - menus, beers, place settings... all lickity split! We got the specialty pizza and it was fantastic at a great price. This place is definitely a great option for a meal before or after you see a movie.

Next up on @BeingPolly Campbell's list of pizza places that make you melt is Cincinnati favorite, Dewey's. I've been to three of their locations (Clifton, Crestview and Levee) and each of them to me have been very consistent in service and food quality. The salads are always fresh and crisp, the pizzas are always hot, fresh and unique, and if you haven't tried one of their calzones then you are clearly missing out. Promise. They have creative pizzas of the month. Some of my favorites have been the Don Corleone and the Cubano. (DUH, it's me here!) Have you ever noticed that they have a system for drinks so they never have to ask what you were drinking? Yup, Coke and sprite come with black straws, diet and water with clear straws, water comes with lemon, etc. I actually watched this unfold at Clifton once and was amazed. The service is generally good. At Levee and Crestview the service is always very proper, at Clifton it is slightly more relaxed, and I prefer Clifton for that. Since this is about Levee and about pizza though, I'd vote as a composite of all of my visits to the Levee location and give it 4 stars.

If you have lived in Cincinnati for any length of time, it's a safe bet that at some point you have had Dewey's pizza from at least one location (and if you haven't, what's wrong with you?!? Get out there and try some, stat!). They all share the same menu and consistent quality so it's hard to go wrong. Yes, it's a little overpriced, but still worth it in my opinion. Since this one is located in Newport on the Levee it's pretty much always crowded. They don't take reservations either (except for maybe very large parties?) so there's been many a time that I would have liked to have dined there, but had to pass to avoid missing a movie time or fainting from hunger. Lunch time is usually your best bet to get seated quickly. The beer selection is strong and they do a good job of representing some smaller/regional breweries on tap. The salads are really great too. Even though dried cranberries, goat cheese, and pine nuts with balsamic vinaigrette isn't exactly revolutionary, their house salad is a highly enjoyable start to the meal (tip: order a large and split between 2 people to save a couple of bucks). My favorite pizza is the BBQ Chicken, but they're more than happy to do half & half if you and your dining partner can't agree. They also have different seasonal salads and pizzas, and create-your-own.

By far my favorite pizza place in the city! This location can be a little overly busy and you most often have to wait for a table at dinnertime. But once you are seated, service is always great! Yes, this is a more expensive pizza than you will get from a delivery joint. But this is specialty pizza with unusual toppings. It is so much better. My husband and I always split a house salad and a small pizza and that is more than enough food for the both of us, often with a piece or 2 for leftovers. The house salad comes with pine nuts, cranberries, and goat cheese and a wonderful balsamic dressing. Amazing! I love that you can have half and half on the pizzas so you can try more than one of their wonderful creations. I recommend the Ryan's Inferno and the Billy Goat. They also usually have a seasonal special that is very good as well. Ask for extra red sauce on the side to dip your generous crusts in (which is my only complaint- too much crust). I have also tried the calzones which are huge and filled with caloric goodness! Have you been in a LaRosa's rut for the last 20 years, definitely check out one of the Dewey's locations around the city!

Dewey's used to top my list of pizza places. This past visit left me unanamored because of the following reasons: 1) While it is a great place for groups - it should also be a great place for kids as kids looooove pizza. I brought my son and nephew and they have no kids menu to keep the kids doodling, playing tic tac toe or entertaining themselves. 2) It is frustrating to me to have a server that takes down your order for a Bronx Bomber with no mushrooms, repeats the order back to me and then shows up with a Bronx Bomber WITH mushrooms. Instead of telling them to take it back, because the other half was pepperoni for the kids, I politely, ok, maybe passive agressively asked for a plate to put my pulled off mushrooms and the server walked away and quickly put an extra plate on the table without saying a word. 3) The pizza dough didn't seem fully cooked. 4) There were some interesting options on tap but none that I particularly wanted. So, the only other options besides what was on tap was bud light or miller light. Huge gap there! On a positive note, I did get to have a bit of the fig and goat cheese salad which was truly amazing as I've heard their salads are there. But, overall, since we were out celebrating my nephews birthday, I'm only giving it 2 stars based on a kid friendly night out perspective.

I love Dewey's. I especially love this one. I love to sit out on the porch and have a beer with a great pizza while enjoying the weather. It would be even more perfect if they were on the actual river so you had that view, but it's just a walk down the levee. They are usually pretty busy as the rest of the levee is, but it's never been more than a 10 minute wait for me. My favorite pizzas are the Ryan's Inferno which is basically all the great stuff about chicken wings including the ranch and celery! also the Green Lantern is delicious. Their salads are great and definitely share able. They have a good selection of beer which is always a good thing. It's a great day to catch a movie, have Dewey's then walk down to coldstone grab some ice cream and people watch on the levee.

Let's face it, if your passion is pizza the Tri-State is not exactly short of places to satisfy your wanton desire is it? In our own 'hood our primary pie parlor will always remain Monmouth Street's Newport Pizza Company which we feel offers up the best value for money twinned with some of the tastiest pizzas around. However, every so often when we're having fun at the Levee we're just too ludicrously lazy to walk those 4 blocks for something to eat and so, again every so often, find ourselves waiting in line for a seat at Deweys. A lot of people swear by Deweys. We invariably swear _about_ it. There's no doubting they do good pizza. They also do a decent selection of draft beers and a mean calzone. Their house salad - a wonderful concoction of leaves, pine nuts, goat cheese and cranberries drenched in tangy balsamic - is a "to die for" menu must-try, but, for all that I still find it hard to raise my Yelpometer for them higher than 3 stars. Why?... read on... For everything that they get 100% right, the experience at Deweys is always - always! - let down by the service. From 'nose in the air' dismissive front desk staffers to servers with attitude. I don't think we've ever eaten at the place without one of us mumbling something along the lines of "Well, he/she shouldn't be working in the service industry" under our breath. Now, I'll accept that everyone is allowed to have an 'off day', but surely we can't be so unlucky so as to have met every server's off day at Deweys can we? I can only assume there must be something about working at the place - or the training/management they receive - that makes so many of the staff apparently ignorant about and/or arrogant towards customers. No-one ever seems to be a happy soldier there, and on our most recent visit - Opening Day afternoon - I watched as many of the staff seemed far more interested in gathering in small groups and gossiping than actually serving people or creating a memorable experience. So it's a 5-star pizza joint with sub 2-star service, rounding out to a decidedly average 3-star eating establishment.

PIZZA is awesome here espically if you make your own and you pick the right toppings. My friend went up to dewey's after we saw World War Z and got us a pizza with white garlic sauce, muchrooms, green peppers, parmasean cheee and tomotoes. OMGG it was amazing. then the next week after that we got calzones and they were awesome too. I like that they make the dough in front of you and that they bake it just right.

We went from Korean food to pizza...how does that happen? We had a plan. We divided our stomachs into quadrants and figured out what would go where. We met up with a newly made friend, who saved us from going to a different location of Dewey's and instead directed us to the Newport on the Levee location. Wise choice for us. Since this is housed at the Newport on the Levee, we parked in the garage (2.00) and found a spot within a few minutes. While waiting for our table to be ready, we met Mr. Graeter. He would be -the- Mr. Graeter, of the famous ice cream in the area. He overheard us talking about trying to decide between two places for ice cream, and he chimed in. I joked with him that his hearing was so good he must work for the government. He had a good sense of humor about it, but gave me some tips on what flavor ice cream I should have. He was wonderful and fun to talk to; he even wished me a safe trip back to DC. We ordered a 13" pizza and decided half would be Socrates Revenge and the other half would be the Bronx Bomber. Between the two, I would have to say the Socrates Revenge was very, very good and what really made me happy was the crust. I don't normally like pizza crust, but theirs is soft and airy, not hard and crunchy. Service was fantastic. Sitting out on the patio with the sun beaming down on us, great conversation and good food made for a very good time among us all.

Normally I would have given Dewey's a good review. The Oakley location is outstanding. However, I dinged this one because of the service. We ordered our pizza without mushrooms. It came with mushrooms. We had a movie to see and therefore did not have time to send it back. I was paying and so the server offered me a free glass of wine. No dice on this because I was also driving. There was no apology and nothing taken off our bill. Dewey's, you can do better.

Excellent pizza! It's always busy so we've usually ended up at the bar. Nice selection of beers on tap, have had the seasonal fig and prosciutto pizza which ROCKED and Socrates Revenge - lots of veggies and olives. And you have to start with a salad, they are FANTASTIC!! Service is quick and efficient, just love this place.

I love this place. It is by far the best pizza place that I continue coming back to. I come here often especially on my birthday. I love the ryan's inferno pizza which is funny because I hate spicy food, but the buffalo chicken mixed with ranch and celery makes it so good. The crust is always perfect and I pair it with a glass of moscato or reisling. If I am not getting pizza I get a calzone which I do enjoy mixing the different ingredients to have some variety. But even if the entree changes, I always get the candied walnut and grape salad. Can't go wrong with it. And the portion is just enough. I always get it as a side and it is enough to feed two people. Love, love, love this place.

Dewey's pizza is delicious, BUT you have to order right. I LOVE: pizza- EDGAR ALLEN POE & BILLY GOAT salad- HARVEST (i think that's what it's called, it has dried figs and pumpkin seeds on it, and the dressing is perfect) calzone- HAM, GOAT CHEESE, ONION (i know, this sounds gross.. i was hesitant about it and even the waitress winced when we asked for this, but after I tried it, I have to order it every time.. and i don't even really like ham!) I heard their seasonal Cuban pizza (pulled pork) is delicious.. but I've never tried it.. and I'm not sure how I would like it... but I always hear about it so I am looking forward to tasting it at least once. I didn't really like their House salad (dressing was too tart and did not even compare to the harvest salad), and their other pizzas were good/okay.. but I will always come back for my EAP, Billy G, and Harvest salad! I think the prices are a little much to come on a regular basis... but for occasional consumption, the price is definitely worth it. I love the window into the kitchen for patrons to watch the cooks spin and throw the pizza dough.. the guys are really nice and it's a great way to distract your kids from the long wait!

At risk of sounding typical, I'll go ahead and say that Dewey's is my favorite 'brand' of pizza in Cincinnati. I know, I know. It's kind of a cop out. Why pick the obvious choice when there are so many other options? I think Dewey's is my favorite because I know that I am going to get quality pizza regardless of the location, I will have a variety of non-traditional choices (I heart goat cheese on pizza), and if I dine in, I know I will be able to choose from an above average selection of draft beers. While they are not as cool as some of the other Clifton-area establishments, and while I may not be able to get a pizza from Dewey's at 2AM, they still fill my belly, and they do so deliciously. Ok, now just bear me for a second: [rant] The location on the Levee, though, is not my favorite location. I find myself disliking the Levee more every time I go there. While it is great for Newport's economic development and those suburbanites who want to get a teensy-weensy touch of urban life (look Mom, I can see Cincinnati!), everything about it grates on me. IMO, the location somewhat stinks for eat-in dining and it is beyond terrible if you want to grab an order to go. [/rant] Overall, the pizza is great and the beer and service are good, but this location gets docked a point for being located at the Levee. I'd rather go to another location, but if you're there for whatever reason, its probably the best dining option for you. When I first moved to Cincinnati a few years back and asked folks about some of the local eateries, Dewey's Pizza kept coming up. Through work I had actually eaten Dewey's a number of times, albeit via delivery or take-out. I had never actually dined in a Dewey's location until recently. After spending nearly four hours on the Cincinnati waterfront, watching the kids having fun as they played and ran up-and-down Sawyer Point, the wife and I realized we were getting kind of hungry. And if we were feeling hungry, then the kids were going to be outright famished. So we took the kids across the Purple People Bridge over to Newport on the Levee to find somewhere to get a bite to eat. With most of the restaurants on the Levee being a bit pricey and not exactly kid friendly....well, if I'm being honest I'd have to say my kids aren't exactly restaurant friendly. Anyway, this left very few options. Actually, it only left one option. Dewey's. Having appreciated their food via delivery I was actually looking forward to seeing what the dining-in experience would be like. It was in the middle of the day after the lunch rush, so the place was pretty empty when we got there. We were seated immediately upon entering by a very friendly hostess who passed us over to an equally friendly and attentive waiter. What I really enjoyed was the window looking into the kitchen where people could watch their pizzas being made. It was a great way to keep the kids occupied while the wife and I looked over the menu, put in our order, and waited for the pizza to arrive. On that particular day a special Mexican-style pizza was being offered, which we decided to try. While it was perfect for me, it was a little on the spicy side for the kids, and they didn't enjoy it all that much. But like I said, I thought the pizza was great. We ordered a couple of House Salads and split it among the girls, with my wife and I taking a few nibbles here and there. That was also pretty good. As I was there with the family I chose not to have a beer, but I must admit I was impressed with what they had to offer. Two things I really like that I wanted to mention. I like the fact that Dewey's is a local chain opened by a Cincinnati native. I was surprised to learn that the franchise has only been around since 1998. Pretty impressive for a chain to grow that fast in such a short period of time. The other thing I like about this particular location is the fact that you can order an entire pizza to go and take it right upstairs into the AMC Theater and enjoy your pizza as you're enjoying your movie. That's actually pretty cool. This was a great place for us to take the kids. Service was fast, efficient, and friendly. The food was great, the restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere. It's a place I enjoyed with my family. And I'm sure it would be a place I would enjoy hanging out with a group of friends. Mahalo, and enjoy.

My cousin's friend recommended to check out Dewey's Pizza; she said she's pretty picky when it comes to pizza and that Dewey's gets her stamp of approval. We came here for a late lunch after going on the Ride the Ducks tour. Since we were a party of 9, the only place they were able to seat our large party was at the bar. I'm not really sure how the service would've been had we been seated in the main part of the restaurant but the service was okay since there was someone behind the bar the entire time. And we all ended up splitting the check into 4 separate ones, based on who shared pizzas with whom. My cousin and I shared a 13" Cuban, which consists of a mustard base with mozzarella cheese, Canadian bacon, pulled pork, sliced kosher dill pickles, mojo sauce, and Swiss cheese. When I saw this on the menu and saw it had pickles, I was sold. I took one bite and I swear it was one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. Plus, I've never seen pickles on a pizza. Our food came out at a decent time; neither at a record-setting time nor did it make us think, "RAWR WHERE THE EFF IS MY FOOD?!" They had a lot of different choices I wanted to try that I've never heard of or seen before. They even had a couple of beers from Michigan. I'd love to come back to Dewey's again if I'm ever in the area again. And Newport is def a great place for everyone to hang out.

Dewey's is a solid choice for pizza. No question. Any they have some of the best salads I've had. Everything here is great! The Newport location is a fun place for kids, families, and out of town guests - both for the quality of the pizza and the glass window where you can watch your pizza being made. The pizza is made fresh with quality toppings, and they have many exotic choices for the adventurous palate. They also have a small but charming bar area with a nice selection of beers. Why not 5 stars? I don't know if I can present a valid reason. It just doesn't blow me away. It's very good pizza - some of the best in Cincinnati. Just not the best ever. That said, I'll most definitely be back to the Newport Dewey's.

I've only ever had their calzones which are incredible. I love they have red creme soda on fountain. Their ranch should be bottled and sold in stores. The only issue with this location is the music is way too loud. It's noisy anyway because its inside the levee, but when you sometimes have to yell for someone to hear you it is an issue.

So I would say everything about my experience at Deweys was ok. The food-ok. The service-ok. I would not say I loved this place but can not find anything really to complain about. Would I come back? Maybe if a group of friends wanted to go but I don't think I would wake up in the morning and think about Deweys.. So we ordered a side salad and shared it as our app. I will say that the side salad was huge. That made me happy. But it came with little to no dressing. Not a big deal though, we got extra dressing and the server did not charge us for that....once again no complaints. The pizza was okay not the best but also not terrifyingly horrible. It was dry for me so I ordered extra sause which the waiter brought to the table without also putting it on our bill. I could think of better pizza places in the Nati I would rather go to but it was worth trying this one out.

I love Dewey's! I am there several times a month since I work on the Levee and they never disappoint. I am a picky pizza -eater (light sauce, extra pineapple, normal amount of canadian bacon) and I love that I can get half and half without it being a stink. I also love that if you are headed to a movie and have leftover pizza, they will let you store it in their refrigerator while you are out and then you can come back and get it. The side salads are HUGE and plenty to split with another person - their normal size is good enough for four people - if you are getting pizza too. Great, friendly staff. Never charge to bring extras - sauce, cheese, etc. to your table.

*sigh* I know I shouldn't like Dewey's but I do. The pizzas are pretty tasty considering it's just above fast food and well within the range of chain eateries, but the place is so inviting that I can't say no. I will say the selection of specialty pizzas is pretty nice and the titles are rather inventive. You probably won't find too many joints that use kalatmata olives or name pizzas after Edgar Allen Poe. The beer selection is usually pretty good, too. However, I do think they should make more of an effort to at least host some local beers at their various locations. Probably the biggest knock against Dewey's is that it is a chain, therefore making it hard for you to feel good about your choice. Also, their dough could use some work as it's a little bland. Overall, I'd say you should pick Dewey's over Pizza Hut or Papa Johns, but if you have a good local joint, always always always pick that one instead.

I really think most of things that can be said about Dewey's has already been said in previous reviews. Great pizza, good service, decent atmosphere, good location. And above all? A great beer list. Now, I know it's not the most extensive list on the planet, you can go downstairs to Brothers, or across the mall to Bar Louie and get a bigger selection. However, what they lack in quantity they make up in quality and price. They have their own brew, the Dewey's Seasonal which at the time of my patronage was a brown ale. They also had: Schlafely's Seasonal (A terrific coffee stout) Bell's Seasonal (Oberon) Rogue Seasonal (Some hazelnut brown ale) Hook and Ladder Golden Ale Avery's Seasonal (White Rascal) Guinness Aside from that, there was also the wine list which had it's perks, but in a pizza place wine is rarely ordered. It's a decent list, and I've ordered the same wines from other restaurants for almost double the price that it is at Dewey's. One last thing to mention is their desserts are locally sourced. I had the chocolate torte from the BonBonerie and they had a carrot cake from another local bakery. A nice touch, and a wonderful end to the meal.

Sad to see the businesses at the Levee which need customers really have NO customer service skills. Although we counted at least 5 empty tables a party of us from work (4 of us) were told to wait 5 minutes...huh?!?! However, once seated our waitress did a fantastic job serving us. Food was good, but just not a good first impression at the hostess stand.

So glad my boyfriend is from Kentucky. Not only is it a beautiful state, but it also happens to be the home for this fabulous place! I'm a pescatarian and find it hard to locate the perfect pizza. My boyfriend suggested a pizza called The Green Lantern (I believe it was called that??). Absolutely delicious! I'm excited to come back this summer and order it again. California really does not do well with pizzas. Go Kentucky!

Dewey's Pizza is part of a pizza chain and one of the better pizza places around. This location is in the mall on the upper level and has an indoor and outdoor patio that works really well. We started to head to the outdoor patio, but considering the heat and humidity, settled on the indoor patio. This turned out to be a good choice as there is abundant people watching potential in the mall. For example, we had prime seating for watching a breakdance artist and his protégé for nearly an hour. We had the Inferno pizza which is sort of like eating a bucket of chicken wings and was surprisingly good. It had a type of barbeque sauce with chicken as toppings with some bleu cheese, onions and celery. Although it sounded a little disgusting on the menu, this was a really good choice. The pizza is one of the thinner varieties, so you're not entirely loading up on dough and there is a good toppings to crust ratio. The crust is also fairly thin and chewy. They serve alcohol at this establishment and I found the Hook and Ladder to be the best of the offerings.

What I love about this place is that they will do half and half on all pizzas! There is not much to say about the service...it is always busy and I know that is why the service is sometimes lacking.

Dewey's Pizza is a Midwestern pizza place that aims to please and does a pretty good job! I've only been to this location inside the Newport Levee. The pizza is really good. I have done various combinations of the make-your-own variety and also tried the Hawaiian pizza. They have lots of other interesting flavor variety pizzas. I also enjoy that the pizza is put on one of those pizza racks raised above the table. It really saves room on the table for whatever else you have. I really like going to this location because you can also enjoy all that the Newport Levee has to offer. They also have three types of seating. You can sit inside the restaurant, in an indoor patio inside the mall, and then in an outdoor patio looking over the courtyard outside the mall.

I've been to Dewey's Pizza at the Levee a couple of times and was pleased with the quality of the service and the food. We were able to eat outside in the fall, which was a nice touch. We usually have plenty of leftovers; that's never bad. We've tried various combinations and the pizza has been consistently good. Sometimes the place is crowded, but being at the Levee, you can always go somewhere else if you don't have time or the desire to wait. There's another N KY location at Crestview Towne Center, too.

This is a cute family joint in the mall. The pizza was genuinely good & they had lots of nice veggie combos. The service was good and they have a really nice patio. The walnut/grapes salad was really tasty. It's huge so there was plenty to share! We had the Edgar Allan Poe & Socrates Revenge. Both were really good (I preferred EAP bc it had olives I could pick out and put on my man's plate). Not much else to say other than they lost a star for mis-calibrated Coke. It's inexcusable for a pizza place to not have their Coke up to par!

Two of us shared a Mediterranean-style vegetarian pizza, with generous sprinklings of olives and feta. It came to us piping hot, with a light fluffy crust, and it tasted swell. There was also a lot of it, so we were satisfied yet still had plenty left over for lunch the next day.

i get to the cincinnati area about twice a year visiting in-laws and always make a point of having lunch or dinner at this dewey's. the pizza and service have always been great. i've lost track of how many times i've been at this one, but it is enough that i have settled on either the green lantern or the edgar allen poe pizza, they are both excellent (i usually get them with chicken). the candied walnut salad is a very good starter too. my two kids have opposite views of the pizza. my four year old loves their cheese pizza by my seven year old finds it too spicy. regardless they both enjoy being able to watch the pizza's getting made and tossed! last time i went they were not too busy so one of the guys tossed a pizza as large as he could until it ripped -- they really enjoyed that.

my aunt went here, ordered a pizza, female clerk took her credit card into the back, which was weird, but she said the machine wasn't working. after a short while she re-emerged and gave her the card back, my aunt signed for the purchase, took her pizza and went home. an hour later, the fraud division of her credit card company called and said there was "an unusual online purchase attempt on your credit card for $800 in hip hop clothing". my aunt is a white woman pushin' 60...wouldn't know Lil Wayne if he was at the door with flowers. just sayin'. decent pizza. bring cash.

We went a couple weeks ago for my husband's birthday. From the bartender, to our server to management...everyone was awesome! I'm a big fan of Dewey's Pizza - I love that it's fresh. They have unique topping choices. Their menu is simple and they know how to do pizza crust! I always get the same thing - The Green Lantern (I'm a sucker for goat cheese). It's incredible and makes my tastebuds happy. Do yourself a favor - put down the Larosa's and go to Dewey's.

I love Dewey's pizza and live in Oakley, so used to top notch service from the Oakley location, but stopping by Newport on the Levee with a friend on Sunday afternoon, we thought we couldn't go wrong with some Dewey's, but we were wrong. Lots of people were coming into the restaurant to be seated, but not a host or hostess could be found, had to ask a server if we and about 5 other groups if anyone was taking care of seating people. We ended up at the bar with all of the confusion. The bar wasn't that full but took time for bartender to even ask us what we wanted to drink & take our pizza order. Once the pizza arrived it was good only saving grace to this location. If you're wanting Dewey's better off to go to another location in town.

PATRONS WITH ALLERGIES BEWARE!! Newport on the Levy location. So my review is low not because of the taste of the food - as always it's amazing! But the service and kitchen prep. I have a food allergy to gluten. Dewey's had always been one of my go to pizzerias because they do a great job with preparing a "gluten free" pizza. EXCEPT THIS LOCATION!! So beware if you have a gluten allergy. When I ordered my pizza I was very specific with the server and asked him to let the kitchen know I had an allergy - this is not just a life choice. Since my body reacts rather quickly to gluten I felt that the manager should know that the pizza they brought me was definitely NOT gluten free. Because I was starting to react to it and get sick . When I told the server - he just kind of shrugged it off (poor service from him all night by the way - 1 drink refill and whisked away "leftovers" before 2 of the guys were done eating)...but he did go tell the manager. The manager was nice but his response was just to come over and tell me their kitchen procedures. He really didn't apologize but kind of put it all back on me with "Well, it is a pizza place so there is going to be flour everywhere". When I told him that this was the only Dewey's I have ever had an issue with and that I was only telling him because I thought their kitchen needed to know and be more careful - he just said he was trying to gather information and thanks and that was it. Even though I was not looking for anything - there was not even an offer to remove the charge for the extra $3.00 I paid to get poisoned or to even get me a glass of water. Still sick this morning - so much so - that this was not cross contamination, there is absolutely no way they used a gluten free crust! And no one else who ate the pizza with me got sick so it wasn't a bad pizza. Just a regular pizza crust! I won't be going back there again. Poor service (and they were not that busy), poor kitchen prep with food and poor management in my opinion. Amended my rating on this review just because - the General Manager actually took the time to seek me out and apologize. We had a great conversation and it feels like they will be addressing this issue. Thanks for taking this concern seriously!

Dewey's pizza is unique in that they will create two completely different pizzas on one actual pie. This works great for my husband and me considering we have nothing in common when it comes to pizza. They have several toppings options ranging from the standard pepperoni to more unique toppings like pine nuts. They have several specialty pizzas that are really unlike any other pizza you've ever had. I have to say that while the pizza is good, the salads are amazing! I always get the Caesar salad with my pizza. I've had several other salads and have never been disappointed. My husband likes Chicago style pizza so he opted for a calzone and really liked it. The pizza sauce is so good that I stole some of his and dipped my pizza (that already had the sauce on it). Expect to gain 5lbs from the 12,000 calories you will consume. The downside to Dewey's is the price. To create your own personal pizza, the base is $8.95 and then an additional $1.50 per regular topping. In other words, you'd have to pay $1.50 to get green pepper on your pizza. Ouch! Want a gourmet topping? That'll run you $1.75 per item. The item prices go up as your pizza gets larger. So if you're building a really fun and unique pizza, you'll be paying a pretty penny.

Dewey's is a solid choice! If pizza is what you want, then pizza is what you'll get. They have a variety of specialty pizzas on the menu and they also offer a "build your own" option. Also available are a few side items. What I really enjoy are their salads. Their house salad is AMAZING and well priced. Overall, Dewey's is a great choice for groups or even for a solo meal. On weekends, they get pretty crowded so be prepared for a bit of a wait.

They have all the toppings you can think of and prices are very reasonable considering I am from Washington DC which is extremely expensive. All in all had no complaints what so ever. We try to hit Dewey's every time we come to Cincinatti. The original crust is thin and chewy with the right amount of crunch. I usually get veggies on mine but no one else likes them. My favorite thing is the sauce though. It's not too sweet and sasses up well with some crushed red. The salads are good as well. To assuage the pizza guilt. :)

Not my favorite Dewey's location. Not sure what it is about this location, but it seems to pale in comparison to others in the area. The food is okay, the service so-so. And maybe it's that I am grumpy about being in a sort-of mall that makes me not terribly enjoy this particular location, but it just seems a little blander and a little less friendly. That said, I like the menu, as long as I remind myself ahead of time how expensive it's going to be. And I love that they have fountain red pop. If you're in the area and in the mood for Dewey's, I dunno, you might be a bit disappointed with your dining experience, so set your expectations low.

The plain cheese pizza is as bland as grade-school cafeteria pizza. Their shtick is toppings. So if you're looking for just cheese, pass on Dewey's. Plus, the cheese and sauce is nowhere near the edge of the crust... making about 1/4 of the pizza area just crust. Very dissapointed for the price.

After seeing a movie, we caught sight of Dewey's as we were headed out. I'm glad we stopped in. Their menu is almost exclusively pizza - no appetizers. There are also some salads. They have a wide selection of specialty pizzas, and many of them are vegetarian. You can do half and half with no issue, so that's we did. Efficient, fast service - we were probably helped by five different people throughout the meal when all was said and done. Good food.

After not visiting the restaurant in years, I came back as part of this "eat at pizza places I used to frequent" thing I've been doing as of late. Unlike my return to Pomodoris (read: the worst dining experience I've ever had, I hope the place burns down in a wood-fire, hahaha), I am excited to say they exceeded my expectations tonight. The restaurant's atmosphere is still a little loud and perhaps too industrial for my liking, but they run a TIGHT ship here. Drinks never even made it to half empty before being replaced, for example. Wait staff seemed pleasant and the new menu additions (its been about 3 years since ive been) were excellent. Can't wait to come back!

So a good solid pizza place across the river from the Nasty Nati. If you go and it is your first time, you must have the Billy Goat...good stuff. Calzones are also very good. Throw in the bar and the good drink selection and a good to can be had by all.

OK, first time in Ohio and my daughter took us here. We got there at 6:15 and the Reds games started at 7:10 pm. We thought we had enough time. Somehow they lost our order. We told the manager at 6:45 and told him we needed to make the game AND have our pizza. The guy was fabulous. He admitted the mistake and got our pizzas in about 15 minutes with no charge. PLUS he gave us a gift certificate to return. Never had this happen before. They really tried to make us happy in spite of the understandable mistake. And we LOVED the pizza. I will return again.

I recently went back to Deweys on a friends request. I have to say, they gained the star back, but still uninspiring. We tried a specialty pizza(1/2 and 1/2) and it was actually pretty good. I'd go back if I wanted something special. Otherwise I'd pick up some Strong's.

After our first experience here, we were anxious to return. It was packed this time, however, and unfortunately it effected the experience. The service was still very good, but the pizza was not as impressive. We ordered a medium with half Ryan's Inferno, and half of the southwestern style. Ryan's Inferno was about the same as last time, not spicy enough. The southwestern side had a nice spicy barbecue sauce, with nice peppers and chicken, but had a tasteless bean and corn salsa. The crust was far from what I fell in love with the first visit. It was slightly over cooked, maybe rushed and cooked too fast? I have to admit I was disappointed. The pizza was decent, but not memorable. I would still return if I had the opportunity, maybe when they were not as busy.

As far as CIncinnati-based chain pizzerias go, Dewey's is my favorite. The pizzas are well-made, creative, and they do half-and-half pies without an issue. This specific location does not disappoint. Newport on the Levee has a number of hang-out spots like bars and chain restaurants. You'd think with nice places like Mitchell's or laid-back places like Claddagh that a dime-a-dozen chain pizzeria would fall short and be unpopular. Au contraire! I'm pretty sure every night I've gone to the movies at AMC Newport, there is a wait at Dewey's. When I went recently, there was a 20 minute wait so we opted to sit at the mostly-empty bar. We were helped quickly by the bartender - menus, beers, place settings... all lickity split! We got the specialty pizza and it was fantastic at a great price. This place is definitely a great option for a meal before or after you see a movie.

Next up on @BeingPolly Campbell's list of pizza places that make you melt is Cincinnati favorite, Dewey's. I've been to three of their locations (Clifton, Crestview and Levee) and each of them to me have been very consistent in service and food quality. The salads are always fresh and crisp, the pizzas are always hot, fresh and unique, and if you haven't tried one of their calzones then you are clearly missing out. Promise. They have creative pizzas of the month. Some of my favorites have been the Don Corleone and the Cubano. (DUH, it's me here!) Have you ever noticed that they have a system for drinks so they never have to ask what you were drinking? Yup, Coke and sprite come with black straws, diet and water with clear straws, water comes with lemon, etc. I actually watched this unfold at Clifton once and was amazed. The service is generally good. At Levee and Crestview the service is always very proper, at Clifton it is slightly more relaxed, and I prefer Clifton for that. Since this is about Levee and about pizza though, I'd vote as a composite of all of my visits to the Levee location and give it 4 stars.

If you have lived in Cincinnati for any length of time, it's a safe bet that at some point you have had Dewey's pizza from at least one location (and if you haven't, what's wrong with you?!? Get out there and try some, stat!). They all share the same menu and consistent quality so it's hard to go wrong. Yes, it's a little overpriced, but still worth it in my opinion. Since this one is located in Newport on the Levee it's pretty much always crowded. They don't take reservations either (except for maybe very large parties?) so there's been many a time that I would have liked to have dined there, but had to pass to avoid missing a movie time or fainting from hunger. Lunch time is usually your best bet to get seated quickly. The beer selection is strong and they do a good job of representing some smaller/regional breweries on tap. The salads are really great too. Even though dried cranberries, goat cheese, and pine nuts with balsamic vinaigrette isn't exactly revolutionary, their house salad is a highly enjoyable start to the meal (tip: order a large and split between 2 people to save a couple of bucks). My favorite pizza is the BBQ Chicken, but they're more than happy to do half & half if you and your dining partner can't agree. They also have different seasonal salads and pizzas, and create-your-own.

By far my favorite pizza place in the city! This location can be a little overly busy and you most often have to wait for a table at dinnertime. But once you are seated, service is always great! Yes, this is a more expensive pizza than you will get from a delivery joint. But this is specialty pizza with unusual toppings. It is so much better. My husband and I always split a house salad and a small pizza and that is more than enough food for the both of us, often with a piece or 2 for leftovers. The house salad comes with pine nuts, cranberries, and goat cheese and a wonderful balsamic dressing. Amazing! I love that you can have half and half on the pizzas so you can try more than one of their wonderful creations. I recommend the Ryan's Inferno and the Billy Goat. They also usually have a seasonal special that is very good as well. Ask for extra red sauce on the side to dip your generous crusts in (which is my only complaint- too much crust). I have also tried the calzones which are huge and filled with caloric goodness! Have you been in a LaRosa's rut for the last 20 years, definitely check out one of the Dewey's locations around the city!

Dewey's used to top my list of pizza places. This past visit left me unanamored because of the following reasons: 1) While it is a great place for groups - it should also be a great place for kids as kids looooove pizza. I brought my son and nephew and they have no kids menu to keep the kids doodling, playing tic tac toe or entertaining themselves. 2) It is frustrating to me to have a server that takes down your order for a Bronx Bomber with no mushrooms, repeats the order back to me and then shows up with a Bronx Bomber WITH mushrooms. Instead of telling them to take it back, because the other half was pepperoni for the kids, I politely, ok, maybe passive agressively asked for a plate to put my pulled off mushrooms and the server walked away and quickly put an extra plate on the table without saying a word. 3) The pizza dough didn't seem fully cooked. 4) There were some interesting options on tap but none that I particularly wanted. So, the only other options besides what was on tap was bud light or miller light. Huge gap there! On a positive note, I did get to have a bit of the fig and goat cheese salad which was truly amazing as I've heard their salads are there. But, overall, since we were out celebrating my nephews birthday, I'm only giving it 2 stars based on a kid friendly night out perspective.

I love Dewey's. I especially love this one. I love to sit out on the porch and have a beer with a great pizza while enjoying the weather. It would be even more perfect if they were on the actual river so you had that view, but it's just a walk down the levee. They are usually pretty busy as the rest of the levee is, but it's never been more than a 10 minute wait for me. My favorite pizzas are the Ryan's Inferno which is basically all the great stuff about chicken wings including the ranch and celery! also the Green Lantern is delicious. Their salads are great and definitely share able. They have a good selection of beer which is always a good thing. It's a great day to catch a movie, have Dewey's then walk down to coldstone grab some ice cream and people watch on the levee.

Let's face it, if your passion is pizza the Tri-State is not exactly short of places to satisfy your wanton desire is it? In our own 'hood our primary pie parlor will always remain Monmouth Street's Newport Pizza Company which we feel offers up the best value for money twinned with some of the tastiest pizzas around. However, every so often when we're having fun at the Levee we're just too ludicrously lazy to walk those 4 blocks for something to eat and so, again every so often, find ourselves waiting in line for a seat at Deweys. A lot of people swear by Deweys. We invariably swear _about_ it. There's no doubting they do good pizza. They also do a decent selection of draft beers and a mean calzone. Their house salad - a wonderful concoction of leaves, pine nuts, goat cheese and cranberries drenched in tangy balsamic - is a "to die for" menu must-try, but, for all that I still find it hard to raise my Yelpometer for them higher than 3 stars. Why?... read on... For everything that they get 100% right, the experience at Deweys is always - always! - let down by the service. From 'nose in the air' dismissive front desk staffers to servers with attitude. I don't think we've ever eaten at the place without one of us mumbling something along the lines of "Well, he/she shouldn't be working in the service industry" under our breath. Now, I'll accept that everyone is allowed to have an 'off day', but surely we can't be so unlucky so as to have met every server's off day at Deweys can we? I can only assume there must be something about working at the place - or the training/management they receive - that makes so many of the staff apparently ignorant about and/or arrogant towards customers. No-one ever seems to be a happy soldier there, and on our most recent visit - Opening Day afternoon - I watched as many of the staff seemed far more interested in gathering in small groups and gossiping than actually serving people or creating a memorable experience. So it's a 5-star pizza joint with sub 2-star service, rounding out to a decidedly average 3-star eating establishment.

PIZZA is awesome here espically if you make your own and you pick the right toppings. My friend went up to dewey's after we saw World War Z and got us a pizza with white garlic sauce, muchrooms, green peppers, parmasean cheee and tomotoes. OMGG it was amazing. then the next week after that we got calzones and they were awesome too. I like that they make the dough in front of you and that they bake it just right.

We went from Korean food to pizza...how does that happen? We had a plan. We divided our stomachs into quadrants and figured out what would go where. We met up with a newly made friend, who saved us from going to a different location of Dewey's and instead directed us to the Newport on the Levee location. Wise choice for us. Since this is housed at the Newport on the Levee, we parked in the garage (2.00) and found a spot within a few minutes. While waiting for our table to be ready, we met Mr. Graeter. He would be -the- Mr. Graeter, of the famous ice cream in the area. He overheard us talking about trying to decide between two places for ice cream, and he chimed in. I joked with him that his hearing was so good he must work for the government. He had a good sense of humor about it, but gave me some tips on what flavor ice cream I should have. He was wonderful and fun to talk to; he even wished me a safe trip back to DC. We ordered a 13" pizza and decided half would be Socrates Revenge and the other half would be the Bronx Bomber. Between the two, I would have to say the Socrates Revenge was very, very good and what really made me happy was the crust. I don't normally like pizza crust, but theirs is soft and airy, not hard and crunchy. Service was fantastic. Sitting out on the patio with the sun beaming down on us, great conversation and good food made for a very good time among us all.

Normally I would have given Dewey's a good review. The Oakley location is outstanding. However, I dinged this one because of the service. We ordered our pizza without mushrooms. It came with mushrooms. We had a movie to see and therefore did not have time to send it back. I was paying and so the server offered me a free glass of wine. No dice on this because I was also driving. There was no apology and nothing taken off our bill. Dewey's, you can do better.

Nice selection of beers on tap, have had the seasonal fig and prosciutto pizza which ROCKED and Socrates Revenge - lots of veggies and olives. And you have to start with a salad, they are FANTASTIC!! I love this place. It is by far the best pizza place that I continue coming back to. I come here often especially on my birthday. I love the ryan's inferno pizza which is funny because I hate spicy food, but the buffalo chicken mixed with ranch and celery makes it so good. The crust is always perfect and I pair it with a glass of moscato or reisling. If I am not getting pizza I get a calzone which I do enjoy mixing the different ingredients to have some variety. But even if the entree changes, I always get the candied walnut and grape salad. Can't go wrong with it. And the portion is just enough. I always get it as a side and it is enough to feed two people. Love, love, love this place.

Dewey's pizza is delicious, BUT you have to order right. I LOVE: pizza- EDGAR ALLEN POE & BILLY GOAT salad- HARVEST (i think that's what it's called, it has dried figs and pumpkin seeds on it, and the dressing is perfect) calzone- HAM, GOAT CHEESE, ONION (i know, this sounds gross.. i was hesitant about it and even the waitress winced when we asked for this, but after I tried it, I have to order it every time.. and i don't even really like ham!) I heard their seasonal Cuban pizza (pulled pork) is delicious.. but I've never tried it.. and I'm not sure how I would like it... but I always hear about it so I am looking forward to tasting it at least once. I didn't really like their House salad (dressing was too tart and did not even compare to the harvest salad), and their other pizzas were good/okay.. but I will always come back for my EAP, Billy G, and Harvest salad! I think the prices are a little much to come on a regular basis... but for occasional consumption, the price is definitely worth it. I love the window into the kitchen for patrons to watch the cooks spin and throw the pizza dough.. the guys are really nice and it's a great way to distract your kids from the long wait!

At risk of sounding typical, I'll go ahead and say that Dewey's is my favorite 'brand' of pizza in Cincinnati. I know, I know. It's kind of a cop out. Why pick the obvious choice when there are so many other options? I think Dewey's is my favorite because I know that I am going to get quality pizza regardless of the location, I will have a variety of non-traditional choices (I heart goat cheese on pizza), and if I dine in, I know I will be able to choose from an above average selection of draft beers. While they are not as cool as some of the other Clifton-area establishments, and while I may not be able to get a pizza from Dewey's at 2AM, they still fill my belly, and they do so deliciously. Ok, now just bear me for a second: [rant] The location on the Levee, though, is not my favorite location. I find myself disliking the Levee more every time I go there. While it is great for Newport's economic development and those suburbanites who want to get a teensy-weensy touch of urban life (look Mom, I can see Cincinnati!), everything about it grates on me. IMO, the location somewhat stinks for eat-in dining and it is beyond terrible if you want to grab an order to go. [/rant] Overall, the pizza is great and the beer and service are good, but this location gets docked a point for being located at the Levee. I'd rather go to another location, but if you're there for whatever reason, its probably the best dining option for you. When I first moved to Cincinnati a few years back and asked folks about some of the local eateries, Dewey's Pizza kept coming up. Through work I had actually eaten Dewey's a number of times, albeit via delivery or take-out. I had never actually dined in a Dewey's location until recently. After spending nearly four hours on the Cincinnati waterfront, watching the kids having fun as they played and ran up-and-down Sawyer Point, the wife and I realized we were getting kind of hungry. And if we were feeling hungry, then the kids were going to be outright famished. So we took the kids across the Purple People Bridge over to Newport on the Levee to find somewhere to get a bite to eat. With most of the restaurants on the Levee being a bit pricey and not exactly kid friendly....well, if I'm being honest I'd have to say my kids aren't exactly restaurant friendly. Anyway, this left very few options. Actually, it only left one option. Dewey's. Having appreciated their food via delivery I was actually looking forward to seeing what the dining-in experience would be like. It was in the middle of the day after the lunch rush, so the place was pretty empty when we got there. We were seated immediately upon entering by a very friendly hostess who passed us over to an equally friendly and attentive waiter. What I really enjoyed was the window looking into the kitchen where people could watch their pizzas being made. It was a great way to keep the kids occupied while the wife and I looked over the menu, put in our order, and waited for the pizza to arrive. On that particular day a special Mexican-style pizza was being offered, which we decided to try. While it was perfect for me, it was a little on the spicy side for the kids, and they didn't enjoy it all that much. But like I said, I thought the pizza was great. We ordered a couple of House Salads and split it among the girls, with my wife and I taking a few nibbles here and there. That was also pretty good. As I was there with the family I chose not to have a beer, but I must admit I was impressed with what they had to offer. Two things I really like that I wanted to mention. I like the fact that Dewey's is a local chain opened by a Cincinnati native. I was surprised to learn that the franchise has only been around since 1998. Pretty impressive for a chain to grow that fast in such a short period of time. The other thing I like about this particular location is the fact that you can order an entire pizza to go and take it right upstairs into the AMC Theater and enjoy your pizza as you're enjoying your movie. That's actually pretty cool. This was a great place for us to take the kids. Service was fast, efficient, and friendly. The food was great, the restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere. It's a place I enjoyed with my family. And I'm sure it would be a place I would enjoy hanging out with a group of friends. Mahalo, and enjoy.

My cousin's friend recommended to check out Dewey's Pizza; she said she's pretty picky when it comes to pizza and that Dewey's gets her stamp of approval. We came here for a late lunch after going on the Ride the Ducks tour. Since we were a party of 9, the only place they were able to seat our large party was at the bar. I'm not really sure how the service would've been had we been seated in the main part of the restaurant but the service was okay since there was someone behind the bar the entire time. And we all ended up splitting the check into 4 separate ones, based on who shared pizzas with whom. My cousin and I shared a 13" Cuban, which consists of a mustard base with mozzarella cheese, Canadian bacon, pulled pork, sliced kosher dill pickles, mojo sauce, and Swiss cheese. When I saw this on the menu and saw it had pickles, I was sold. I took one bite and I swear it was one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. Plus, I've never seen pickles on a pizza. Our food came out at a decent time; neither at a record-setting time nor did it make us think, "RAWR WHERE THE EFF IS MY FOOD?!" They had a lot of different choices I wanted to try that I've never heard of or seen before. They even had a couple of beers from Michigan. I'd love to come back to Dewey's again if I'm ever in the area again. And Newport is def a great place for everyone to hang out.

Dewey's is a solid choice for pizza. No question. Any they have some of the best salads I've had. Everything here is great! The Newport location is a fun place for kids, families, and out of town guests - both for the quality of the pizza and the glass window where you can watch your pizza being made. The pizza is made fresh with quality toppings, and they have many exotic choices for the adventurous palate. They also have a small but charming bar area with a nice selection of beers. Why not 5 stars? I don't know if I can present a valid reason. It just doesn't blow me away. It's very good pizza - some of the best in Cincinnati. Just not the best ever. That said, I'll most definitely be back to the Newport Dewey's.

I've only ever had their calzones which are incredible. I love they have red creme soda on fountain. Their ranch should be bottled and sold in stores. The only issue with this location is the music is way too loud. It's noisy anyway because its inside the levee, but when you sometimes have to yell for someone to hear you it is an issue.

So I would say everything about my experience at Deweys was ok. The food-ok. The service-ok. I would not say I loved this place but can not find anything really to complain about. Would I come back? Maybe if a group of friends wanted to go but I don't think I would wake up in the morning and think about Deweys.. So we ordered a side salad and shared it as our app. I will say that the side salad was huge. That made me happy. But it came with little to no dressing. Not a big deal though, we got extra dressing and the server did not charge us for that....once again no complaints. The pizza was okay not the best but also not terrifyingly horrible. It was dry for me so I ordered extra sause which the waiter brought to the table without also putting it on our bill. I could think of better pizza places in the Nati I would rather go to but it was worth trying this one out.

I love Dewey's! I am there several times a month since I work on the Levee and they never disappoint. I am a picky pizza -eater (light sauce, extra pineapple, normal amount of canadian bacon) and I love that I can get half and half without it being a stink. I also love that if you are headed to a movie and have leftover pizza, they will let you store it in their refrigerator while you are out and then you can come back and get it. The side salads are HUGE and plenty to split with another person - their normal size is good enough for four people - if you are getting pizza too. Great, friendly staff. Never charge to bring extras - sauce, cheese, etc. to your table.

I've had better pizza, but I do love how large their calzones are. When you're really hungry and don't have a ton of money, they're one thing that's reasonably priced at the levee that's filling. Oh, and the amish chicken.... means flavorless chicken.

I grew up on amazing pizza and I am very picky. Although it is no Chicago deep dish, this stuff is amazing. Everyone was super friendly and they were quick getting me the food. I wish the dough were more cooked/crispy - but I love it.

*sigh* I know I shouldn't like Dewey's but I do. The pizzas are pretty tasty considering it's just above fast food and well within the range of chain eateries, but the place is so inviting that I can't say no. I will say the selection of specialty pizzas is pretty nice and the titles are rather inventive. You probably won't find too many joints that use kalatmata olives or name pizzas after Edgar Allen Poe. The beer selection is usually pretty good, too. However, I do think they should make more of an effort to at least host some local beers at their various locations. Probably the biggest knock against Dewey's is that it is a chain, therefore making it hard for you to feel good about your choice. Also, their dough could use some work as it's a little bland. Overall, I'd say you should pick Dewey's over Pizza Hut or Papa Johns, but if you have a good local joint, always always always pick that one instead.

I really think most of things that can be said about Dewey's has already been said in previous reviews. Great pizza, good service, decent atmosphere, good location. And above all? A great beer list. Now, I know it's not the most extensive list on the planet, you can go downstairs to Brothers, or across the mall to Bar Louie and get a bigger selection. However, what they lack in quantity they make up in quality and price. They have their own brew, the Dewey's Seasonal which at the time of my patronage was a brown ale. They also had: Schlafely's Seasonal (A terrific coffee stout) Bell's Seasonal (Oberon) Rogue Seasonal (Some hazelnut brown ale) Hook and Ladder Golden Ale Avery's Seasonal (White Rascal) Guinness Aside from that, there was also the wine list which had it's perks, but in a pizza place wine is rarely ordered. It's a decent list, and I've ordered the same wines from other restaurants for almost double the price that it is at Dewey's. One last thing to mention is their desserts are locally sourced. I had the chocolate torte from the BonBonerie and they had a carrot cake from another local bakery. A nice touch, and a wonderful end to the meal.
