High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. This Applebees would be 100% better if they tore it down and put up a Buffalo Wild Wings. So I could watch games and fights, and also eat good food.

It's unfortunate that the smell of stale smoke overrides the fact this is one of the better places to eat in murray. Always do takeout

Pretty typical Applebee's but in Kentucky they still allow smoking. Get with it Applebee's! I would come here more often if you would ban smoking. Food is good and wait staff is friendly. Just across the street from Murray State University. Has good college vibe.

Very inconsistent here! Sometimes we get fantastic service, tonight is not good at all. We weren't even greeted at the door for ten minutes, though multiple servers passed by us. No smile, no nothing! It wasn't crowded (at all) at 4:30 on a Thursday. Once seated it took 15 minutes to place an order due to an absent waitress. The pretzels we ordered as an appetizer were delicious (as usual), my beef with pasta was under seasoned and just not very good. My son's food was typical kid's fair.

I have been a fan of this Applebee's from the time it opened. I am guessing it is under new management and for the most part all new employees but I am not surprised it is a college town.. As for the food its the same applebees food... The drinks are always spot on and MY all time favorite thing, The thing that keeps me going back again and again is the blondie.... If you have not had one I dare you to take the blondie challange and see if its not wonderful and you will be back for it again...

Applebee's ranks at about the bottom of the Grill/Bistro chain restaurants right down there with Bennigans. This location is better than most, but it would have been preferable to have a Friday's or Chilli's.

Typical Applebees / small sports bar atmosphere. Unfortunately, it is a haven for heavy smokers. If you prefer to eat a meal, and concentrate on the taste of food, this can be difficult with smokers occupying over half of the restaurant and walking around with their cigarettes. As you approach the doorway from outside, it has an odor of stale beer and stale cigarette smoke, instead of the sanitary smell of a restaurant. As a non-smoker (and former smoker), I was very disappointed with the atmosphere of this location. It seems to be much more appropriate to visit for a bar experience instead of a restaurant experience. In 2012, across many locations in the US, I have rarely encountered this experience elsewhere.

I visited this establishment yet again this past Saturday evening and I will say it was better. Megan was our server and her customer service skills were TOP NOTCH! Waaaay better than the first time. I observed how she interacted with other customers and was quite impressed! Food was pretty decent, not a long wait at all. I'm still not at all a fan of chain restaurants but my experience this second time around was 95% better.

Never been a big fan of Applebee's so my review isn't surprising. I will say the wait for a Friday night wasn't bad at all and our server was excellent. She got a great tip and was the highlight of the visit. Brown lettuce in the salad is quite obviously a no no and then I find random pieces of green pepper in there as well. Maybe this is a normal house salad for them but it put a bad taste in my mouth for the whole salad. The entree was fair to poor. I don't know what the problem was but it all tasted the same. I got chicken with shrimp and the side was mushrooms and onions stir fry. Every bite I took tasted the same and the chicken was super dry. Probably won't give this place another try.

BC I had read the reviews, I was ready and prepared for terrible service which I received right out the gate- waiting at the hostess podium for a little over 5 minutes. A handful of servers walked by without greeting me except one- Evan! If not for him I would have left and just went back to my hotel hungry. By far the nicest and most attentive server, so if you're coming here ask for him!

Ordered Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, Spinach Artichoke Dip, Bourbon Street Steak, a burger, and an Oreo milkshake. The mozzarella cheese sticks were acceptable. They ran out of oreos after I placed my order. The chips for the dip were extremely salty. We could barely eat them but managed to with plenty of dip. The burger was extremely greasy. More than any I can really recall. The bun was soggy with grease. It seemed like it has sat on there for a few before being brought to us. The steak was probably my biggest disappointment. It was supposed to be rare but came out no less than done. Overcooked is never good. The worse part was the seasoning. It completely destroyed the flavor of the steak. It really tatted like eating a heavily seasoned sausage. I was quite disappointed. Our server was excellent though. Even with a very busy section she was handling.
