The staff here were absolutely lovely; they were so friendly and helpful. The interior was also very adorable with many murals and a homey ambiance. The food was also delicious. I had the chicken fajita quesadilla, and it was very flavorful and huge! I took 2/3 of it home for later! I loved it.

If you want something great, try the Pelanchos dip...I could eat just that and be happy. Everyone there is friendly and seem to enjoy their job. Out of all the Mexican restaurants in the area, I would say this is the best...just because of that dip.

Good service, complimentary tasty salsa and warm chips. We both had the vegetarian chimichanga platter which came with rice, salad with pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. Very filling and good. We will come back when visiting my daughter. It's a good place to go to amid the fast food choices here. The interior and brightly painted wooden furniture give a festive feel.

Amazing amazing restaurant ambiance, that was the first thing that attracted my attention. The hotel has beautiful wall paintings and the customer service team welcomes every person with a big smile on their faces. At first we did not like the table location that we had, but when we mentioned it to the waiter, she immediately changed the location for us to something that we preferred. The appetizer corn chips that we were survey first were absolutely delicious and freshly done! The salsa sources were also amazing! Our group of five all ordered different meals but I particularly enjoyed the chicken fajitas that one of my team members had. There was plenty of food for everyone and we even had some to go. Moreso, I had the fried ice cream desert for the first time and it was absolutely phenomenal! They also had a 15% student discount which we all enjoyed. I will definitely plan to visit this hotel again the near future!

We were trying to avoid chain restaurants and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious, fresh food. Generous portions and friendly service in a colorful happy, clean setting. The queso fundido with beef & chicken was amazing with warm tortillas. Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend this as a stop if you are passing through. We stopped in after visiting the nearby Cumberland Gap and hiking in Daniel Boone's footsteps.

Ok. Chicken was water logged making everything wet on the plate. No margaritas. Dry county. Would not go out of my way to eat there unless that was my only option.

Here in town for the week. It's so convenient, clean, friendly, yummy and fast. Everything I like in a place. No cons. Wed evening is AYCE fajitas for $10. Need I say more!

We were expecting, on Easter Sunday night , to find nothing but fast food places open. We were pleasantly surprised to find this place open and even more pleasantly surprised by the food. The chicken burrito and enchiladas were very good with plenty of shredded white meat and the house salad, $2, was a real deal.

It's really good. I had Planchos special. The chicken in the dish was moist and delishious. I tasted what my husband ordered and his was better than mine. But mine was still really good. Arroz con pollos is what my husband had. We are visiting from Michigan. We wish we would have gone here our first night. Since this is a small town, Pelanchos Mexican grill is a pleasant surprise. Great prices. Fast service.

Quick easy fast meal. Nothing dazzling in here, just a clean place, nice servers and a decent meal.

We went to palanchos during a mission trip In Frakes and we were very pleased with the restaurant. We brought 14 teeenagers and they accomodated us very well. Their portions were large and tasty!! Prices were very reasonable. The atmosphere is very authentic feeling. Nicely carved tables and chairs with Mexican flavor. May not be back here soon, but would recommend it!

So you might look at me crazy, but my fave Mexican restaurant is not located in Chicago, but in Ky. In the hills of Kentucky to be exact. Mexican population of about 20. Maybe. Oh, and there is no liquor since Middlesboro is in a dry county. Still with me? Let me say that again slowly for those yelpers with liver failure - there is no alcohol. No mojitos, no margaritas, and not even a cold brisk cerveza. Nada. To the 3 of you still reading, if you happen to be in the area ever, Pelancho's is well worth the visit. The service is generally quick and always friendly - granted this is the south so friendliness should be guaranteed anyway, but still, worth mentioning. The free chips and salsa are good, nothing spectacular, but certainly decent. I always pretend to look at the menu knowing full well I will be ordering the same thing I always do - arroz con pollo. That's rice with chicken for y'all. This is no ordinary arroz con pollo though. First, the entree is enormous. Easily enough for 2 meals. Second, there are tons of veggies - onions, peppers, fresh tomatoes and avocado all enhanced by the flavorful fajita style chicken and the cheesy rice. Oh that cheese...I am not sure which exact variety it is, but damn, it's delicious! Also, for some reason, the fountain Coke tastes better here than anyplace else. You may be under the impression that all Coke tastes the same but you would be wrong. And(!), to make things even better, they serve drinks with an appropriate amount of ice - ie. cup is filled with ice (The way God intended). Lastly, the prices here are ridiculous. Ridiculously cheap that is. Chips, salsa, pico de gallo, drinks and 2 entrees is only around $20. Even less if you happen to go with the daily special! So yea, good service, great food, inexpensive prices and correct ice portions. It makes me miss home.

I am from Houston and we have many TexMex and Mexican resturants this place is OK. But for $9.99 all you can fajitas it had to give it less than three stars.

Everything in Pelancho's is a beautiful work of art. The chairs, tables, walls and even the ceilings- everything is painted with gorgeous images of flora and fauna. The staff is very friendly and well trained. The food is scrumptious and fairly inexpensive. And, to top everything off, if you are a student, you can get a 15% discount!

The food is average. But it's good! Apparently it's a dry county or something because we ordered food and thought a beer and margarita would be great then they said THEY DO NOT HAVE ALCOHOL! Not cool! After hiking the Cumberland Gap it sounded perfect. Ughhhhhhh

In Middlesboro working and stopped in to have dinner. Service was quick and very friendly. The decor is classic Tex-Mex and a number of TV's are scattered around for viewing while you eat. This place also offers free WIFI, which is great when your catching up on news and email. I ordered the chicken fajitas. Received a large portion. They were well prepared and tasty. This area is dry so no crevasse but a cola washed it down just fine. Good meal for under $15. I will go back. Only negative is the tables are sticky. They need to find a different cleaner.

The service was awesome because the server was so sweet and the food came quickly. The portions were so large that I will have enough for dinner. The food was so good and the prices were almost too good to be true. The interior decor was amazing and added to the beautiful setting with different options for seating. I just wish that there was an outside seating option as well. The music was also very nice.

Maravilloso! I had a fantastic lunch with my peers. We were captivated by their sign that displayed a discount for students. When we walked in we were graciously greeted and had a very humble waitress attend us. Our food was fulfilling to all of my senses and I could not fathom over how affordable the platters are. I ordered the mixed fajitas at a price of 7.99 and I can say they have been the cheapest fajitas I have ever purchased. I definitely recommend stopping by and feeling a small glimpse of a Mexican town ambiance.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
