This Dairy Queen is great. You'll get your food quick and as ordered. The recent remodeling really spruced the place up for an even better experience. Expect typical Dairy Queen. Hot Eats, Cool Treats. Also expect some locals hanging out in the dining area-- especially in the mornings.

The Martin Giovanni's is legendary. I don't remember a Martin without Giovanni's. Within the last few years they moved into a new building and added a buffet-- which I've never tried but hear is just great. It must be true because there is hardly a spot to park in during lunch time. The old location survived a number of floods in downtown Martin and the building had taken a lot of damage. The new location is much nicer and more likely to avoid future flood damage. The subs and pizza are good. My favorite subs are the steak or the italian. They're always hot and tasty, but the cooks tend to go crazy with the onion. Imagine an actual tomatoe-style full-cut of onion, rather than just pieces like everywhere on else serves. No big deal. You might like it, or you could pick some of them off, or you could just ask for less onion. I have no doubt that they'd be happy to comply. The pizza is the greasiest pizza I've ever seen. It's also very thin pizza and is cut into squares rather than pie slices. Many are turned off by the greasy pizza but others love it. I learned to love it.
I'm very biased about this chain - I used to love going to Long John Silver's when traveling through Ohio and Kentucky just to get one of their free paper pirate hats to wear for a day or two. While I no longer grab the paper hats, I still enjoy the delicious hush puppies and fried fish. They do have some healthier grill options for folks tryin to watch what they eat, but I'm all about the fry daddy fish when I stop by. This restaurant in the lovely town of Martin, Kentucky is right off of state highway 80. The place is clean and the folks working here are wonderfully nice, as only Appalachians can be.
This McDonald's is like the after-school project of Allen Central High School students. It's unreal how many students work here. I think a number of South Floyd students work here, too, but I don't know as many of those to be able to identify them. When this location first opened it quickly gained a bad reputation for consistently messing up drive-through orders. I think that's changed now. The food is typical and the service is pretty fast. This location is particularly busy. The drive-through window is regularly circling the entire building. I suppose it is because of the limited number of food choices in the area and the poor quality of neighboring Long Johns. Still though, when a spot gets as much as attention as this, they must be doing something right. Right? This building had been open for only a few years before it was remodeled. I guess that's a sign of prosperity and successful management. The interior is nice and is usually clean so you can feel comfortable eating inside if you prefer.
Don't bother buying any tea here. Don't bother asking how long ago it was made, either, they will always tell you "a few minutes ago," but it's always soured. Fries are about the only fresh food item you can get here.
This Subway is located inside the Speedway gas station. I'm not a huge Subway fan but this Subway is slightly below my expectations at a Subway. This location doesnt seem to do a ton of business so it's never crowded-- which is great! But at the same time, it hurts because it seems like the staff is half-interested and the ingredients aren't always as fresh as they might be elsewhere. The ingredients here are acceptable, and people definitely eat here... but it isn't my favorite location in Martin. There is limited seating available, so you could sit inside and eat, but I wouldn't recommend it. Being inside the gas station causes a lot of noise from people coming in and out, opening the pop coolers, and paying the gas station employees. I suggest ordering your sub to go.
