Middle of the road hibachi. Went here for lunch. Prices are good. I had steak with fried rice. Steak was good but the fried rice was pretty much blah. I normally love the thousand island (Mac sauce) inspired yummy sauce at other hibachi places, but this place's version just tastes like soy sauce. Edible but nothing special and the restaurant itself really needs updated. Sushi prices were high so we didn't try it.

I'm giving 1 star because the customer service was ok. However, my meal was not good at all. I visited during the lunch hour, ordered the Teriyaki Chicken. I only ate the chicken, everything else missed the mark. I will say that I will not be visiting this location again. For only $8.43, it tasted just like the low end price. Great thing about my entire meal was the water w/ lemon.

The food is always good, the service is good. I'm not a big fan of the dinner pricing, which can run well over 70 dollars for 2 people. The hibachi grill is fun, especially if you get a chef that likes to do things with fire (won't spoil it for people that have never been, you just have to see it in person). It's a great place to eat, but because of the price it's definitely something I'd save for a special occasion.

I do enjoy Shogun's lunch specials. For the price you really can't beat the teriyaki salmon lunch. For less than $9, you get a salmon steak, grilled veggies, fresh fried rice, and either soup or a salad (of course topped with their amazing ginger dressing). The staff is always friendly, and since they aren't overly crowded during lunch, they are also very attentive. They also get the food out really quickly, so if you are on a time crunch, this is a great place for quick good food.

Nothing special. Food is average. Service ok but again just average. Not much of a dinner crowd. Would not go back as nothing is that great to make spend the money they charge .

I quite like this place but I like it for what I get and what my expectations are. I have eaten at the Shogun chain (franchise maybe?) in another location when I was a kid and it hasn't changed at all in terms of the food. First, the "hibachi" grill is always what my friends and I go for. The teriyaki salmon in particular is a great deal. A huge salmon steak, cooked just right, and served with a side of tasty stir fried rice and veggies. The other meats vary, the calamari is ho-hum, the chicken not bad in terms of serving size and quality. One of my friends says that the rice must have crack in it because it is so tasty and addictive. I think it is just soy sauce and the mustard sauce though.... The sushi bar looks good and the chef seemed competent, so it is likely worth a try. As far as being Japanese, of course I cannot speak for an entire country of food and traditions but it doesn't bear much resemblance to anything I've eaten in Japan (the "hibachi" part at least). But if the food tastes good, so what? Service is okay. The thing is that it can vary a lot depending on when you walk into the restaurant. They seem to seat different parties at different grill tables which is nice for privacy and conversation but it can mean that 3-4 tables are seated at the same time and awaiting a chef. Once the chef is there, the flair of the cooking is inconsistent. I don't mind because I am there to eat, not to be entertained but if I was there with kids or people who had never been to something similar, then I might be disappointed. If you want a show, make sure to mention it and I think they can put on a good show if asked. The service has always been polite. I suggest paying in cash with exact change because every time we go, they take forever or screw up the credit card charges and have to re-run them while we wait.

Great food! Great service! But bathroom needs cleaning and when you walk in the smell kinda hits you in the face.

First time at this location . Tried the grill. the new york strip steak which was tough and blah. The grill guy was by far the worst I have ever seen. No talking to customers , bad seasoning and couldn't even make good rice. Refills hard to come by even with only two of us sitting at the grill. Even the grills were dirty and plates bowls look unclean. Will not return to this location.

Went for dinner with my wife and kids, sister-in-law, and niece on 1/10/12. The wait to be seated seemed a bit long for a Tuesday night, but it wasn't too bad. We were the first group at the teppan. The servers were really good and checked on us regularly while we awaited the arrival of the chef, but even the last couple to arrive had finished their salads long before the chef arrived. Once again, longer than it seemed like it should take, but not too bad. Unfortunately, there is almost no airflow in the teppan room, and I know it's always kind of warm near those things, but it was exceptionally hot, which I'm sure the wait time seem longer than it actually was. I was excited to see my son's (age 6) and niece's (age 3) reactions, since it was their first time at a Japanese steakhouse. Unfortunately, the chef was pretty blasé. Big fire, a little utensil flipping, and an onion volcano. There was no interaction with the patrons like flipping a veggie to one of the kids to catch in their mouths, no chef's hat used as a prop, etc. He didn't do anything special, but I was mostly disappointed that he didn't even do a lot of the stuff I've come to expect. But, I think that was our particular chef. I noticed one of the other chefs doing quite a bit more. The food was good, but nothing extraordinary. It was cooked perfectly, though. The only complaint was that one person thought her scallops were "too fishy", but I tried them and didn't agree. Quick take: Very friendly service. A little slower than typical. Nothing special in the chef's presentation. Price was a little high, considering the location, day of the week, and quality of the food, but not outrageous.

Walked in and was immediately assailed by the smells of a backed-up toilet. Holding our noses, we turned and left.

Love this place! Its 3 restaurants in 1. Theres the Hibachi Grill, Traditional Dining, and a Sushi Bar. Also, Shogun has one of the best Filet Mignon steaks in town. A head's up: they run a promotional early bird dinner from 4:30pm to 6:00pm where you can get your choice of 3 dinners for a special price. Been going to this place for years, and it never fails to deliver. Everyone is extremely nice, and willing to accommodate special requests (like "no salt", "cook food separate from shellfish" for those allergic to shellfish, etc). Highly recommended! And their lunch specials are one of the best values for quality and quantity in town!

The customer service here is *amazing*. My family has been a few times, and we are immediately recognized and enthusiastically welcomed by whomever is hosting. They're very friendly and accommodating. As for the food, I enjoy their sushi very much. Their salmon tartare is fantastic.

Never been to the grill, but the sushi bar is AWESOME, as is the wait staff. I've gone many times since they opened and rarely have to wait more then a few minutes.
